Not sure what I was expecting but I don't think what we had hit that mark. Started off with Gobi Pakora which is basically battered cauliflower served with a sweet chutney along with a green sauce. It was okay but I expected the batter to be a bit more flavorful and the appetizer to be served with a bit more flavor. I think this was my challenge with Curry lounge, I feel everything we had just lacked flavor. We followed it up with Chicken Tikka Masala to try and baseline it against the other times we have had it at other restaurants. Very creamy with chunks of chicken squared up in it. The sauce was okay with the rice or with the naan dipped in it but it seemed like the chicken was made prior and just finished in the sauce but did not have much flavor on its own. The seating is a decent size, I was entertained with a bollywood movie that I think was "weekend at bernies" but remade with colorful dancing and acting I found to be really fun to watch. The servers were all very nice, no issues there at all. I normally really base my ratings on if I would return. I can't say that I would here so three stars is what I ended with. Picked up Butter Chicken one night--nice that they are open fairly late for restaurants nowadays. The flavor was very nice, although a little spicy for me (I am a complete spice wimp.) The one confusing thing for me is that, I guess I had been looking at the combo photos, but I thought it was going to come with other stuff and it was strictly a la carte. We had a reservation so we didn't have to wait long for our table. Service was quick. They brought everyone water and menus as soon as we sat down. Everyone ordered their own items. My son loves the Chicken Tikka Masala, so he had that. I ordered the Butter Chicken. Daughter ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala. Wife ordered the Chicken Biryani. We ordered the Combo Plates, which came with rice, naan, yogurt, and red onion, and something that looks like a soup. For the prices, the combo plates are a good deal. Food came out fairly quickly. When we want more water, they refilled it immediately. We all enjoyed our dishes. It was the right amount of food, not too much nor too little. The sauces were not salty nor bland. The menus and waters are brought out after you're seated. My friend and I shared tandoori chicken and a chicken curry combo plate. The chicken was amazing, juicy, and packed with flavor. But as soon as we sat down, we knew we had to try some of the dishes. We had veggie pakoras, a chicken tikka wrap, kulcha w/ chole, raita, mango lassi & chai. Parking: Parking can be difficult. You can get lucky with free street parking, but I found free parking in a structure on 187th and Pioneer. Ambiance/Environment: This spot is located along side the street of Little India. The outside is cute with no outdoor seating. The inside is clean with limited seating. We visited on a Saturday afternoon, and this spot was poppin. Service: Shout out to Sandy and a couple other servers that took care of us! They're very courteous and caring. They're also knowledgeable about the menu and gave us good recommendations. They had a large menu, so it was a bit overwhelming. But I was glad Sandy assisted us! What we ordered: 1) Samosa (appetizer) - thin, flaky outer layer made from unleavened dough, filled with a mixture of spiced potatoes, peas, lentils, or minced meat. The filling was definitely flavorful! The green sauce made it even better. Great appetizer to start off with. 2) Goat Biryani - rice cooked with goat and spices. You can also adjust the spice level; I ordered this mild. I never had goat meat, so why not lol. I expected it to taste like chicken, but it actually tasted like beef. Some parts were difficult to chew, but it was still delicious. I love Indian rice, so this dish really exceeded my expectations! 3) One Item non-veg combo - We were recommended the Butter Chicken, which is one of their popular dishes. This was served with rice, garlic naan, slices of yellow onion, plain yogurt, & chick peas. It is extra for garlic naan. I looove the garlic naan! The butter chicken was cooked well and drenched in sauce. The sauce was creamy and paired well with everything. They're generous with the amount of rice, and the naans were huge! 4) Strawberry Lassi - traditional Indian yogurt based drink made with strawberries. It wasn't too sweet or thick! It was a nice, sweet treat after. 5) Masala Chai - The chai was basic. It was served in a small hot glass with condiments. Pricing: $$$ is the average price now. I usually don't write negative reviews, but this experience was beyond anything I've had before. We order from here through DoorDash all the time and never had issues in the past. This time, the chicken in the biryani smelled extremely spoiled. In Punjabi, we use the word "tatti," which means human feces, to describe a very strong, rotten odor -- and that's how bad the smell was. The odor was so strong that I had to wash my hands several times just to get it off my fingers. The veggie rolls were burned on the outside but still cold inside, even though they're supposed to be served warm. Overall, this was one of the worst food experiences we've had, and the meal didn't feel safe to eat. Please be careful when ordering through DoorDash because this batch was unacceptable. read more

They have street parking only. The inside is cozy and simple. We came just in time before the lunch combo menu ended. _Garlic Naan ($3.99) Naan topped with garlic and cilantro. This was good, but I preferred my other spot. I did not really get any taste of garlic. But the naan itself was soft and warm. _Butter Chicken Combo($19.99) Chicken cooked in a creamy tomato sauce. Comes with plain rice and 1 naan bread (extra charge for garlic naan). I saw this on the combo which worked out since the butter chicken on the regular menu does not come with rice or pita bread. I was so hungry when I first saw the lunch tray come out, I did not think it was enough, but it was plenty enough. It came with a good amount of nann bread. The butter chicken was well cooked and a good amount of it. It did lack depth of flavor and seemed pretty standard. The rice was solid. It also came with sliced red onions, some yogurt dip, and a chickpea stew, that was very spicy. Service was great. I travel 40 minutes regularly to eat here, but today's paneer tikka was very disappointing the masala hadn't infused at all and it tasted bland. When your staff asked for feedback, we gave it honestly and were still willing to pay and take the remaining food. Instead of handling it professionally, the manager behaved rudely and questioned us for packing the food after sharing feedback. That reaction was unnecessary, unprofessional, and honestly quite disrespectful. Good food brings customers back, but behavior like this drives them away. How does your next customer knows about our feedback which we gave to the cashier? It's you people who are friends and shared with those uncles. Please be vigilant and kind to all your customers. Customers are the king , i have worked in food industry and I know how to be humble and welcoming to customers rather than bringing your friends me sharing the feedback to them and they pull up a fight which we are not even interested ! Portions were quite large here. However, I was a little disappointed in my mango lassi which was pretty expensive for a small drink. We liked the gobi Manchurian and chaat. I love Indian food and have had Indian food as far a Thailand, New York, and Spain. I was highly disappointed in the flavor and quality of Curry Lounge. The food was overly salty. The mint chutney is usually my favorite condiment but it was so salty that I couldn't even eat it. The only dish that I enjoyed was the plain rice. I really was looking forward to the food but the sodium content was so high that my feet swelled up. There are many other Indian restaurants in the area that I will be giving a try. read more

Came here cause I had heard great things about the butter chicken and although I'm more partial to chicken tikka masala I was willing to give it a try. We got a pickup order from here and took it home to eat but the restaurant itself looked really nice. They had lights setup all around the restaurant which gave it a special feel to it so if you are eating here the vibes seem to be on point. Service during my brief interaction seemed also very friendly and quick. I took it home and had the butter chicken and my goodness that is easily the best butter chicken I've had. I've had plenty of butter chicken before and my main complaint has been that the flavor of it is sort of diluted whenever I've had it but wow this one packed a perfect punch of flavor and spice that was so delicious. It was so good that I finished a whole family sized portion all to myself, so that should tell you something about how good it was.
