Ok, so I bought a VW and came in motivated to get a new system with possible navigation combo. I was considering some Google models (they dont carry, he said if i insisted he could order it). I haven't used the system so I don't know faults but he trashed the entire Google ran systems. Which, I have no problem with (if it's truly his views on products) , but instead of showing me what he recommended in his store or possible ordering something he just rode me off. So I show up at noon and owner tells me he is booked up for the rest of the day and he could have taken me in the morning. I asked him why he did he tell me to bring in my vehicle at noon when I was calling for an opening in the morning? I heard of Jason and Stereo Pad through word of mouth. I heard he has been in business for over 30 years, so I had to check the place out. I had my stereo system installed by a friend a few years back and it was working great. Come to find out, it wasn't tuned properly and it fried the amp. So I called Stereo Pad in the first hour of opening to schedule an appointment to get a diagnosis ( I didn't know at the time that the amp had blown). He told me to call back around 3 or 4, so that's what I did. He told me I could come in shortly after that to get it checked out. Once I knew the amp went bad, I bought one there, which was a great value, for a much needed upgrade. I had the amp installed a week later, since it was near to close and it couldn't be done that same day, but that's no bother. My stereo system on my 2020 Toyota GT86 sounds better than it did before! Jason has been doing car stereos since 1978. That's a LOT of experience. He's had this business for 40 years! I had a specific budget that I could work with to install a new stereo in my newly acquired 2011 Traverse. I wanted Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, CD/DVD, and a backup camera. Jason spec-ed out a system that was exactly what I wanted in my budget of $950. He's very flexible, laid back, no pressure sales. Very helpful and very knowledgable. To give perspective, I went to another car stereo installer and the price quoted me was $1500 for a comparable system. That same place also told me that aftermarket backup cameras do not have the curving guidelines like many of the factory backup cameras do, just a straight line. When I asked Jason about this, he said that they do in fact exist, he has one on his Jeep, and that they've been around for a year now. Guess what I have for a backup camera? After the install, which took only 3 hours, his tech gave me a brief training on how to operate the system. The backup camera is kind of wonky because I have only a temporary license "plate" so they said as soon as I get my real plates, to bring it in and they will adjust it. The camera needs a solid surface to install. I highly recommend their services and products. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Tucson-top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. I Hardly knew any technical jargon, but they were able to figure out what my problem was that I was explaining and give me a solution at a fairly reasonable price. Quoted me a 2 1/2 hour timeframe and had it done more quickly. I took my ford raptor here to get all new door speakers, new tweeters, and get a subwoofer box that would fit perfectly under my back seat. They had everything I needed. I had it all installed the next morning. Looks professional still sounds great. Also the best thing is that the owner and workers do not follow you around and try to over sell you anything like the other audio places in Tucson. So I also had my mother-in-law bring her a brand new charger and get new door speakers as well. That turned out great. Then I brought my daughters 2011 charger there and had subwoofers installed and that still works great as well. So if your thinking of going to the other three audio places in town, I would not recommend that I would come here to stereo pad!!! Also, I have the same system priced at two other audio places for my Ford raptor and it was 800 more dollars at both places. I am trouble to leave this review as I have had two other experiences with this company and they were very good. I brought my 2005 Ford excursion to them to upgrade the stereo system including a new head unit, back up camera, completely new speakers, and an alarm with remote start. Jason urge me to go with Phoenix gold as I have done before and that is his preferred brand. I asked him to replace all the door speakers and the two speakers in the third row area and add a powered subwoofer. The head unit I was presented was $650 yet online could be purchased for 400. The door speakers were within $10 of retail. The installer told Jason that there wasn't any speakers in the third row so they didn't install them. Come to find out it was because the installer didn't wanna do the work there is in fact a third row of speakers it just takes a lot more work to get there. Upon finding out this information I was told that it wouldn't add any value to the system . I believe they are incorrect and regardless of their opinion it is what I asked for yet was never completed. It's almost like they talked me out of doing the work because it was "difficult". My other issues stem from the professionalism of the installers. At first I got my truck back after they did the first round of work and the head unit was installed too deep to the dash and you can see the scratch marks they left in the dash. You can also see the tooling marks they used to pop the dash open. Upon calling this out I was told they were there beforehand ...photos prove otherwise. I returned the truck to them because we were having problems with the steering wheel controls not working. Come to find out they were never installed. Their lead installer told me that the part didn't exist for my truck... Crutchfield said otherwise. I brought this up to them he looked at the research on the website and admitted he was wrong begrudgingly. I asked him for a high-quality back up camera did not say anything about sparing cost and wanting discounted stuff and I got literally the cheapest quality camera I have ever seen. They did however credit me back the amount I paid for that camera towards the camera that was 10 times more expensive... and slightly better in quality. The remote start an alarm system I had them install didn't work properly and would constantly trigger the alarm. The installer told me that was a switch problem with the door and not an issue of the alarm. Didn't have an issue before it was installed. Took it back to them they disconnected something and now it works somewhat. Since then I have found loose wires hanging out under my dash what seems to be melted electrical tape, my steering wheel controls have started to intermittently work, and the remote start is hit or miss at best, and I can definitely tell the distortion of the speakers that were not replaced as originally requested. It isn't like I was going in there looking for discount service I was ready and willing to pay what was needed to get the work done I wanted. I spent nearly $3000 on the quality of stuff I received and I can tell you that I am very dissatisfied. In total I've spent nearly 10 grand with his establishment with three different vehicles and I'm sad to say that I cannot recommend to anyone that I know in good faith to use them again. read more

!!!PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU COME HERE!!! Honestly I'm not really sure where to start with this review. I had brought in my 2017 WRX maybe a year ago and there were problems with the 5 channel system they installed from the start of getting my car back. I had scheduled an appointment to come in and no one was there, I then came and took my car the next day and they didn't finish it so i had to come pick up my unfinished car and bring it back again the next day for them to finish. Immediately after getting my car back and driving home I had issues so I then took it back to them the day after for the fourth time in a week. They said they fixed the issue which they were so far off from actually fixing anything. Jason is a great owner but the guys he has working on your car are completely incompetent. They will shove pry tools where they shouldn't and scratch up all your interior parts without caring at all. They do not follow simple instructions online to take things apart. My head unit was ruined like completely botched. They shoved pry tools all around my piano black trim where you can very visibly see it. My door cards were not put back into place correctly and had several broken pop tabs. On the rear of my back seats they didn't even bother pulling the pop tabs out for the carpet, he straight up just ripped the carpet around the pop tabs. Now for the wiring itself, whoever worked on my car had no idea what they were doing. The LC2i system was not only installed improperly, the settings were completely wrong which caused my system to have negative frequencies. The amplifier they installed wasn't secured properly, it was literally dangling with one self tab holding it on. Not to mention how horribly wrong the amplifier settings were tuned to. The wiring was completely wrong too, he ran the RCAS and ground together instead of separated on each side of the car which caused many issues especially for the negative frequencies. For the ground to amplifier connection he had smoked a few holes into the shell of the car to ground it, but he must've realized it was too thick to drill self tappers into so he smoked 2 more holes in the shell right next to it in order to ground the connection. On this part he didn't even sand the factory paint down for the ground connection, this is the ultimate "I have no idea what im doing" example. Not to mention that I needed to get a new factory trim piece from Subaru in order to replace the the piece below the head unit that they completely destroyed. Take a guess to why? More pry tools shoved into places where they shouldn't be!! The door speakers were hardly put into place, he only used 2 screws out of 3 so they were not fixed into place which caused a horrible rattling. For me personally, I came here because they had cheap install prices and Jason seemed to know what he was doing and talking about. DO NOT LET THIS FOOL YOU, he is not the one working on your car. The employees he has installing these parts are completely incompetent. After spending an additional $500 at another audio shop my system is finally fixed and is sounding how it should've been from the start. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! read more

There were missing bolts/screws,broken clips,gouged plastics, wrong crossover positions, screws literally glued in because they had stripped the holes out and tried to make it look right, and missing panels. Took it back to them because ya my $3k sound system sounded like crap and they like laughed at the mistakes and then melted the plastic they had gouged and tried to play it off And said it was my music... the music that previously sounded fine. Once telling them to order the parts they lost and correctly fix the damage they agreed and I never heard back so now they get a review highlighting how they messed up my truck so bad I literally tore the system out (by myself having no idea what I was doing and did no damage) and traded the truck in. read more

Brought my truck to SP to get an auto start and alarm installed. I should have read the signs. When I got there for a scheduled appointment the installer hadn't arrived and I had to wait 30 mins for him to get to the shop. Fast forward to after the install, everything seems to work well but the wiring is like a teenager did it. The bundling up of the wires and sloppiness caused rubbing while turning the steering wheel. Also more importantly my vehicle did not pass emissions because of the odb terminals being tampered with. Not to mention the hood release was disengaged and not fixed so to open the hood I have to pull a wire. It's not a big deal but the point is I brought my truck there with operating pieces and left with a shit ton of issues. Installer also left his cell phone in my truck so after I had made it half way home I had to turn around and go back to drop the dudes cell phone off. Extremely unprofessional and sloppy. read more

My RV pioneer system was not working at all. Called and they got me in 5 minutes later. They looked at the system and I told them I wanted to replace it for a newer version as Pioneer was no longer updating the model I had. They had the new system installed in less than 1 hr. I was introduced to the Owner of Stereo pad a free years back by a mutual friend while looking for some custom work to be done on a complete system for my Mini Cooper S. After going to a few of the local "fast food" of stereo shops in town, I was shocked at how I was received by Jason and his crew. This is what hospitality is all about. Both Jason and his lead tech took the time to educate me on what it was I was looking for and how to get the best sound for my listening pleasure BEFORE I spent a penny. I purchased a deck, amp, six speakers, and a 10 inch sub to be installed into my ride and was BLOWN AWAY by what I found when I picked up the ride. Ok it's that time again...my latest project...a 2017 streetglide special...i guess to start let me say this is a full custom bagger...everything has been replaced besides engine and transmission...this build was done by azzkikr customs in peoria az...and kandy paint job by prestige customs in tucson az...so stereo pad was the final stop...we did full pro audio in this...600/6 amplifier..a set of 6.5 pro audio mids with a 1" horn in the fairing...and a set of 8" midbass with another 1" horn in the back all ran off a sony ax100 head unit and this thing is LOUDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD...being the fact I just got it back from paint the day before I knee it had to be flawless so I wouldn't trust the bike to anybody else! read more

Start to finish, an absolutely great and professional experience! I bought a remote starter and one of my friends who is great with cars said that he would help me install it. After two evenings and seven hours of work invested, he could not get the remote start system to work. Left with a mess on my hands, I sheepishly went to Custom Auto Sound by Stereo Pad to figure out what it would take to get my system up and running. I walked in the door expecting to get a lecture on what a bad idea it was and how it was a big mistake and how it was going to cost all kinds of extra money. Instead I was greeted with a friendly smile and a chuckle. The owner was very understanding and didn't make me feel like a fool for our failed attempt at self installation. I explained that I had a limited budget and that the installation was causing my battery to be drained to the point my car wouldn't start so a fix was urgent. We agreed on a fair price and they got to work. What impressed me most is even when the scope of the job was larger than expected, he kept his word and didn't charge me a penny more! Theres a former military Guy who works here Robby and he just won't shut up long enough for me to spend money, I have seen him argue with several clients and myself included about things unrelated to car audio. he's so eager to show you his truck and tell you about his life and his political views, Just shut up !!! he treats clients like they know nothing. We initially went to Best Buy to get the stereo installed, but the installer said they were too busy at that time, and they were going to be shut down so their bay could be used for Black Friday storage. He suggested we talk with his friend at The Specialist down the road on Broadway. That was a HUGE mistake!! (I'm going to write a review about that experience later) We did some more research, and talked with a couple places, and ended up giving the Stereo Pad a shot. God I wish I would have came here from the start!! The prices were fair, and Jason was friendly and professional. He didn't try to up-sell us with crap we didn't need, and even said he could reuse the door lock actuators after the The Specialist said we needed 2 new actuators at over $100 a pop!! We got a subwoofer, a custom box, and a car alarm installed with a motion sensor because it's a convertible Mustang. The motion sensor seemed a little too sensitive, so we called Jason to see if we could dial it back a little so it didn't chirp every time we walked out the door (or sometimes the alarm would go off). Jason suggested a toggle switch to turn the motion sensor off while it was in the carport, and said he would only charge us $10 to do the work, because he wanted to make sure we were happy!! I took the car over and he installed it in about 10 minutes!! I was truly amazed, and then on top of it, he never charged me. I wasn't sure if that was a mistake, but he will definitely make his money back a 100+ fold in the future, because I'll do business with him again, and highly recommend him to all my friends!! Don't make the mistake I made by going to a different stereo installation place before coming to the Stereo Pad. Make this your first stop and you won't be disappointed!! We worked with Jason on the purchase and installation of our subwoofer and alarm for our 88 Ford mustang. He is super knowledgeable and offered great customer service!
