Since I've seen a slew of poor reviews about this place, I thought I'd offer a bit about my experience. I commissioned them for building me a custom box for a 12w7. I gave them the flexibility to take their time and was I ever rewarded with a great sounding product. The box hits sooo much deeper than the JL pro wedge. I do realize this is was not a full stereo install or perhaps another more detailed experience, but my impression of this place is good. They also gave me time on one Saturday to diagnose a loose cable on my amp, which had been cutting in and out. Very disappointed with my service with audio express. I came in to get CarPlay installed in my car. I assumed they would be putting it through my car's current USB connections as they never said otherwise. When I went to pick up my car they had a very long cord coming out from under my glove compartment saying that was how I was to hook it up. I asked to speak to a manager indicating that I was under the impression that they would be using my current USB port or cigarette lighter port and I was unhappy paying $1000 for a long cord coming out from underneath my glove compartment. He told me that there was nothing they could do about it. I now have this ridiculous set up and not to mention when I plug my phone into car play it only connects 50% of the time. The sound quality over the Bluetooth is also horrible that my friends cannot even understand me so I can't use it anyway. Very disappointing service. Use somewhere else. read more

I was hoping to get my broken CD player replaced in my car because I have a long drive ahead and I called Miguel, the Asst Mgr at the location nearest my house. He said that he was booked up with appointments past the day that I was leaving for my roadtrip. I asked him if he would call me if he had a cancellation, expecting that he might not even remember to do it if he had one. He called THE NEXT DAY and got me in and the new stereo installed within an hour & a half! The new stereo is FANTASTIC - better than I had hoped for, and I would not have had it for the trip if Miguel hadn't made customer service his priority! Thanks, guys! I had an absolute Terrible experience -- I would recommend running and not walk away! Dropped off my truck Thursday morning - was told they would complete the truck that day. Recieved notice in the late afternoon that they would not be able to complete the job on the day promised. No problem, thanks for letting me know, agreed they would lock the truck up in the shop and complete the installation the next day on Friday. Got a call ~1:00 on Friday - Hey your Truck is nearly complete, it should be ready in 30 minutes or so. Great I'll be there in an hour at 2:00! 2:00 - paid for the job took a seat and waited. At 2:15 the crew comes in with lunch and the team disappears until 2:50. I get everyone is entitled to a lunch - but there was no acknowledgement or warning for me to go away - even for me to go back home or next door to Denny's and have a cup of coffee - silence. After lunch team is going back to work, I hope that they just need a bit to finish up but nope -- 4:00 nothing, 4:30 assistant manager comes out -- hey nearly done. This is starting to feel like a big mistake. They close at 6:00 -- I have waited 3 hours for them to be almost done. Not such a happy camper - I ask should I go home this is BS.He lets me know my truck is more difficult than others - I don't care - thats why I paid you to do it - you are the 'experts'. He ends up giving me a refund - I ask if my truck will be ready for me to drive out Friday, - he ensures me that it is They bring the turck up to the frnt and hand me the keys. No WAY - I get in and GET OUT immediately Heres the many ways they returned my truck - not right 1) radio would not turn off with key off 2) AC would not turn on - blew hot air 3) Windows would not roll down 4) Gas guage not working 5) speed / tach not working 6) All the instrument lights are on even with key off Assistant manger has the nerve to tell me 'your module' is bad - I say only because you broke it - nothing was wrong when I brought it IN! take it home - disconnect the battery and the next day remove the stereo - Viola everything except the radio is functioning. Bottom line - in my opinion whover was 'modifying the harness' does not have a clue - Next day manger calls - tries to make it right - offers to try to 'find' another harness I pass - no trust in ability / communication / or honesty read more

I don't recommend this business (Broadway location/Tucson) for car audio. I purchased $5k worth of car audio and alarm system from them about 6 years ago. I had to take the car back about a year ago because the dash tweeters and the head unit they installed had basically fallen into the dash.In all fairness, the original install was done under previous management and techs. Recently I took the car back in as the drivers door speaker was having issues. I also wanted to get info about possibly installing a dash cam system. I was told they would contact me when they found out the issue with the speaker and then we could discuss the dash cam install/cost. When I called back they informed me that BOTH front speakers were BAD and needed replaced ( JL Audio/$500+).... I agreed to have them replaced. They did give me a warranty "discount" that I had PAID FOR from the original install. I told them that I wanted to hold off on the dash cam (expense and not the style I wanted). Miguel informed me it was ALREADY halfway installed! We NEVER agreed on installing it or even what the actual cost was! NOT good business practice. I told them to just go forward with it. I didn't want damage done by "undoing" the work. I asked if the removed crossovers and tweeters were left in the car ( as they were still perfectly fine). They told me they were. They never offered to show me anything about the new camera system or the work they did.When I went out to my car (alone) I found some nice grease looking spots on my fabric seat and the removed components nowhere in the car. I had to go back in and ask for them. I also wanted to do an upgrade on my alarm system but needless to say it will NOT be at Audio Express. read more

I just went in for what ended up being a simple fix and was taken care of in a timely manner. No trying to upsell other equipment, no b.s. reasons as to why we'd need to get more work done or any of the other icky routines I've come to expect from audio places. Our system wasn't even from them, the issue was due to poor installation from another business yet they fixed it, showed us what to look out for to prevent bigger issues in the future and how to fix them ourselves. I had a problem with my fully charged Viper remote not working and was unable to disarm the car alarm. I called Audio Express and spoke with Elias. He was very professional, knowledgeable, polite and patient with all my questions and calls. Always ready to help and solve my issue. He gave excellent instructions and we finally got the alarm disarmed. I was now able to drive to Audio Express on Broadway to get the remote paired. Manny greeted me and was professional, friendly, very knowledgeable and definitely efficient in pairing my remote. It only took a few minutes and my remote was paired. It works great! I highly recommend Audio Express. When they say lifetime warranty, they mean it. 4 years ago, I had an alarm/remote start installed. A couple of months ago, my headlights wouldn't turn on and the dealer blamed it on the alarm. Audio Express removed the alarm. The dealer replaced fiddled with it, and it started working. Audio Express reinstalled the alarm. A few days later it happened again, so Audio Express removed the alarm again. This time the dealer actually found the problem, and Audio Express reinstalled the alarm again. Never once did they argue about who's fault it was. They even offered to try another alarm brand. They were absolutely amazing, and I would not hesitate to use them again. read more

This place has sunk fast. Im not sure if it was pandemic related but I once got great and knowledgeable service here. On my most recent visit I was "helped" by one of their salesmen. I came in with a few different questions and wasted an hour watching him have to run back and forth between me and "the man in the office" because he couldn't answer or find anything whatsoever on his own! My friend who was with me was in total shock of how lacking the service was in every regard. It got so bad that the salesman began to lie to me because I was putting so much pressure on him just to answer something/ANYTHING. At the end I had enough, it was clear this particular individual (and shop) was unable to fulfill any of my product needs let alone answer anything (even about the things they themselves sold!). How does a shop not stock any 1/0 gauge terminal connectors? Unbelievable. Brought it back to them to fix and asked them to flip the radio right side up. Picked it up....still upside down and didn't really clean up the oversized opening. Not happy going to different shop. Audio express purchased a new unit because the old unit clips for the dash kit were broken and that's why it kept falling down. So far everything is holding in place. Not sure why the clips were broken in the first place and feel if they had seen that they should've just replace the unit from the beginning instead I feel like they use the bandage. Audio express came through in the end but it was a lot of going back-and-forth for something that could've been fixed or taken care of in the first place. read more

Andrea was a very knowledgeable and patient sales rep as she helped us pick some great speakers and a subwoofer for our Jeep. We left our vehicle over night with no problems whatsoever. Andrea even came in on her day off to rectify a situation that arose with our work order request. She also stayed around for an additional 4 hours or so to ensure the work was completed and handed off to us that evening. She was such a pleasure to work with throughout this process. Went in recently to get remote start installed in my vehicle and had an OK experience. What I can say is that the gentleman that helped me out, Charles Hart, was very nice, patient, and knowledgeable. Plan on waiting for your car, but I mean hours of waiting. I understand a 3-4 hour wait is ideal, but almost 6? I also don't understand how this company is "The home of the $1 installation", when on my bill they charged me $45 for installation. Anyways, like I said Charles was nice and knew his products. We stopped by in February to ask about installing a car stereo and Sirius unit we already own into a vehicle we recently purchased. We showed them what we had and we were told it would cost about $160 and that we needed to be there at 9 AM since it was on a 1st come, 1st served basis. Well, we didn't go back until April and then the SAME sales guy told us we didn't have the correct harness, that they didn't have it and that it was very hard to find. We could try on ebay. Why didn't he tell us that back in Feb?? He was really rude about it too. We went to The Specialists just down the street and actually bought a new system. Customer Service means a lot! I came to this Audio Express after receiving a quote for a new deck and installation from a different company. You always hear the ads claiming the are the "home of the $1 install" but we all know that those install fees are just hidden in marked up prices, anyway. I already knew that but I was hopeful that they would break the stereotype and blow me away with quality service. But I was wrong. I walked in and was greeted by a worker that was holding a tissue up to his bleeding lip. He attributed it to a "pit bull" incident. Not sure how this is sanitary, and I honestly don't remember him washing his hands before touching the audio equipment later, btw. To make a long story short, they took my quote from the competition, and although they were able to beat it by $20, I still took my business to the other company. Quality wins over quantity with me, and based on the uncleanliness, messiness, and quite frankly - rudeness- of their staff, I did not feel that they were worth the money I work hard for. read more

OK So I bought a new stereo and got all the parts online and basically just needed a straight install in my Volvo wagon. I called our usual Volvo mechanic and he recommended that I take it to Audio Express for a simple install. I called Audio Express 2 times and spoke to one of the guys at the desk. I was told TWICE they don't take appointments-- just show up and they can work me in. NOTHING about having to show up at a certain time to get in line. So, I took the car in at 11am today. They immediately blew me off and said they couldn't do it because I didn't show up at 9am. WTF!!! No one said anything about 9am to me on the phone. I went to this location to install a backup camera as well as a JVC all in one deck (Bluetooth, Nav, Apple play ect.) for my wife in her MDX. The install was clean, everything works great! They were out of stock of the backup cam I originally paid for so the upgraded me for free! The only downside was that I was told it was going to be a three hour job MAX. Well six hours later the job was finally done. The only consolation was that the job was done well, so I couldn't be too upset. I would definitely go back for other services in the future. read more

Being excited and impatient to have the new deck installed (as I wasn't getting much use out of the cassette tape deck in my '99 CR-V), I was thrilled that they could install it right away. Scott was fantastic, and showed me how to use all the features of my fancy new touchscreen deck. The install looks great. I also had them install an alarm system as well. I deducted one star because I would have preferred if they offered me the alarm system install at the very beginning (instead of after the 2 hour install of the deck). They could have installed it all at once and saved me a return trip. Overall though, I highly recommend! read more

Scam artists in my opinion. My salesman gave me a bottom line of under $300 total for my stereo and installation. I was under the impression I would be making direct payments, which is what the salesman told me while I was giving him my banking information. I get the bill, turns out it is a LEASE and the total is almost $500! Because I didn't pay it in full by a certain date I am paying more than $800 in payments for just a deck and installation for two speakers that have already blown. I just called to speak to someone about it and the person who answered the phone was almost hostile and was no help to me at all. I could have gotten a lot more for my money anywhere else.
