Went to look for a car. As soon as we pull up someone comes to assist us. He starts calling my boyfriend "uncle". How unprofessional!! He also ask me 3 x how was my Christmas and twice where I was from. Very obvious he was going through a script and wasnt even interested with a response. Takes us to the rooftop to look at a few cars and has us looking through the window to see the interior. He then wants to know the exact car that we want to look at so he could get the keys. It's a hot and sunny day and not a good day to be on the rooftop. Such a turn off. I do not recommend this place to anyone. read more

This review is about the service department. I was SOOO disappointed. I made an appointment knowing it would probably still take a little longer than I'd like. BUT a TWO HOUR wait for a simple oil change is outrageous! Then, after I'm already running late for my next appointment, they tell me they recommend new brakes. I let the attendant know I didn't have the time to do it on this visit, so he told me it'd be just a couple minutes for him to give me an estimate and write up my paperwork, so that I could pay. Another fifteen minutes later, I was finally called up to pay. It wasn't until I got home that I realized, that I wasn't given an estimate and there were other minor issues reported that no one discussed with me, or offered to take care of. Overall, I was extremely disappointed in the customer service; no one even introduced themselves. read more

This review is for the finance department. My husband purchased a used car, with a trade in and a 14 day pay off agreement amount. After 17 days the loan of the trade in car was still not paid off, and none of his loan paperwork had even started processing. After calling 2 times the same day to be told no one in finance was there to help address the problem, we personally drove to ford. After arriving and bringing the issues to attention, we were told they probably forgot and didn't do it in time. Leaving my husband liable for late charges and possible damage to credit, for them not honoring the 14 day pay off. In regards to his loan paperwork that hasn't begun processing in 17 days, we were told it's the fault of the loan holder (usaa). And they planned on using his loan from usaa to pay off the trade in. There was absolutely no accountability shown from the finance department. It was a game of blame, from one thing to another. No courtesy call or heads up that they hadn't paid off trade in loan in the agreed upon time. Because they didn't want to use their money to pay off a trade???? To chase down the finance department and have to bring to their attention they have not done their end of the deal, is beyond unprofessional. Will also be contacting the BBB of Hawaii, to ensure no one else has this experience, and left financially responsible for a dealership that says "they probably forgot to pay it in time". Yesterday, my husband and I went back to the Waipahu dealership considering to get a truck - we were about two weeks ago. After careful consideration, we have decided that we will get the truck. Arriving at the dealership, two salesman sat on the chairs, one smoking, playing or texting on the phone. We had to ask for the salesman who helped us weeks, ago, one responded, "oh he is not here, he has been suspended" I can help you with what you need. We have been in a lot of car dealership, seen and heard some of the most tasteful comments but, that is yet by far the most unprofessional, and uncharacteristic of any salesman we've ever encounter. Cutter Ford should review their employment behavior - and should inform its employee that internal business should not be discuss to their customers. Should we go back? We are still considering it but we will be contacting "our" salesman and make sure that he gets the sales. Yes, we got names of the salesman, but my husband and I are not that mean to name, names but whoever reads this.. and we are quite sure the manager in charge knows his people. It is very disappointing how people whose primary business is really customer service. read more

UPDATE I was contacted by Pat who is a mgr at Cutter Ford. He sincerely apologized numerous times. He didn't make excuses for the poor customer service I had received, but did explain SOME of the miscommunication. 1. Service never calling me for my initial oil change checkup? Poor service 2. The driver mix up. Apparently Cutter Ford HAD told one of the drivers to come in for me specifically, and he forgot. (He was NOT the one who took me to work the second time.) He apologized numerous times as well. *The service manager called me at work to tell me the driver was outside waiting, so I quickly got my things and ran outside like a mad woman, only to find he wasn't even there. I called her back and she told me he was, and to keep on looking. Then she told me that they were done installing the entry system on my car and were in the process of washing it. The driver then called me so I hung up with her. He told me he was getting a pass and would be up to get me shortly. Which he did. Then another man called to tell him to go to pick me up. The driver let him know he already had and we were on our way back. And yes, mysterious man, I heard the conversation. The lack of communication or comprehension of information presented at Cutter Ford between their staff is absolutely ridiculous. 3. My keyless entry. Ford production line did NOT put my entry on my car. HOWEVER, they do send the dealerships entry systems to put on later. (So Cutter Ford did NOT go to the swap meet and put junk on my car.) These are covered by warranty, (as they should be, I got charged an extra $95.00 dollars for that when I bought the car.) As far as the service manager accusing me of putting the "after market entry" on my car, yeah not ok. She didn't apologize when she checked me out yesterday. Then had the audacity to tell me about the survey, which is her report card and that she wanted me to put excellent or whatever. Maybe she should learn to say, "I am sorry" for starters. (She knew about this whole mess as Pat had talked to numerous people on his staff, all the way to one of the drivers.) She acted like everything was honky dory instead. 4. As an extended olive branch, Pat had someone wash and vacuum my car. I accepted, and I know this is NOT standard practice at Cutter Ford. It was a nice gesture, thank you. (I went to look for him, but couldn't find him at the time I was there.) 5. Hopefully Cutter Ford gets on track with their customer service and gets better. They need to remember they are representing the COMPANY of FORD, not just a local business. read more

My previous vehicle was a Nissan, so I took it to the Tony Group Autoplex for my oil changes which only took one hour at the most. My husband and I just purchased a brand new vehicle with Cutter Ford Aiea this past weekend. We were greeted by Brian Okamura (sp?) upon getting out of the car and he was very friendly and professional. He took us to exactly what we wanted to look at and showed us similar models so we knew all our options. I loved that he did not hover over us one bit. He would tell us what the vehicle was, show us some of the features, and step back so we could explore it on our own. He knew what he was talking about and was able to explain everything to us in great detail. All of our questions were answered with the utmost patience and knowledge. He was straight forward and I got a "no-BS" attitude from him. Anthony handled the financial papers and all things we had to sign. He was very helpful and patient. He explained each and every paper we had to sign and answered every question we had with no problem. I'm not sure if he was the one who actually calculated our payments and who we dealt with for the negotiations. If he was, that went smoothly too. They gave us their initial offer with interest rate, trade in value, payments etc and we took about 40 minutes to come up with our counter offer, per say. We weren't interested in hours of negotiation and so they were patient with us while we came up with our final offer. We handed it over and said "this is exactly what we will pay and what we want." Brian took it back up to the mystery financial man and they came back about 15 minutes later with what we wanted. It was smooth and painless. We even got much more for our trade in than we had expected when we went to the dealership. After all the financial things, they delivered the vehicle to us outside all sparkly clean. We started the next phase, inspecting for any scratches or other cosmetic things. My husband is VERY particular and went over the entire vehicle with a flashlight so he could see everything. He noted a tape mark (from factory packing tape), a paint bubble, a small bump like dent on the driver door, and a scratch on the grill. On the service side, we have been dealing with Kellie, sweetest and most helpful woman ever! Greets me with a hug, calls with updates, gave me a banana for the baby, and has 100% gone above and beyond for us. Every single thing is being taken care of promptly. The paint bubble and grill will be fixed in a few weeks while I am on the mainland and the tape mark and dent have been beautifully removed already. They even cleaned the car inside and out again when we had to drop it off for those things to be fixed. We had an issue with our My Ford Touch synch system and that was fixed promptly as well. I continued to have problems (turns out it was my phone after that though, not the system) and the actual service person who worked on it came to speak with me and help however he could. They reassured me everything would be fixed and he even said he was going to contact Ford himself to discuss the problem I was having, regardless of whether or not it was fixed after I fixed my phone. I liked that. Very proactive attitude. Overall, our experience has been great. It was a long process, but we got a fantastic deal and have had fabulous customer service the entire way which made the time pass faster. I highly recommend Brian as your sales person and Kellie for anything service related. They are both wonderful. Very very happy with our new vehicle and the whole process in general! Hey folks at Cutter Ford Aiea...would it kill you to try? Since 2015, after purchasing my brand new Ford $$$$ Flex, I have visited the service department repeatedly (Upwards of 15 times in 4 years) for bad AM Radio reception, oddly enough only 1 station sucked. Even after getting a new radio, the reception was STILL BAD. I am guessing they did not bother to replace the antenna? Then the service guy gave me over to another service rep because dealing with my Uber-patience and intelligence was too hard. I GAVE UP trying to fix a radio that still only gives me a headache, and moved on to addressing a rattling sound in my front end. THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO and they insisted nothing was wrong with it. COME TO FIND OUT (by taking it to Midas, of all places) it was something loose in the strut causing that noise that never stopped. What kind of danger was I in the whole time? Midas told me the struts need replacing. So I called Ford. I SHOULD KNOW BETTER. After discovering I had just enough left on my VERY EXPENSIVE SERVICE CONTRACT, I attempted to get an answer to the question every consumer with half-a-brain would ask.... "IS IT COVERED?" But after placing 8 PHONE CALLS, talking to 4 different passive aggressive women, spending at least 10 long painful minutes on hold, I was ultimately given the run around! Go figure!! Yup. Why did I think anything else but frustration was in store for me? I lost my patience, after call number 7. Wouldn't you???? Call number 8, finally reaching a service rep, was the final straw. I despise being treated like I am stupid. I have been a faithful Ford buyer. This is my 6th one...all NEW!! AT THIS POINT, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND CUTTER FORD AIEA SERVICE DEPARTMENT, suggesting you forget buying from them. I gave up expecting a receptionist that has a single brain cell, let a lone a sales rep who gives a sh** about my money or my time, UNLESS YOU ARE A GLUTTON FOR PUNISHMENT AND WANT A HOLE IN YOUR HEAD!!!!! read more

Horrible service department. Even worse than the other Ford dealerships on Oahu (and they are not great to begin with). Second time I brought the car in to check the navigation system. Ok, maybe not all mechanics can do that, but then call me and tell me that you need to reschedule. I wrote down exactly what the issue was when I made the appointment online. To be then told that you can only do an oil change today and that i have to make another appointment for the nav system is just UNACCEPTABLE. Never again. P.S. They are not only knowledgeable about the various vehicles on the lot, but they went out of their way to look for items from my trade-in that I couldn't find. When the one finance guy was working so diligently to get finance paperwork completed and signed, but we were number 4 in line at 9pm, Zack encouraged us to return in the morning after a good night's rest. We bought a F-150 from Mario who was great. But once we got the truck home we realized the speaker was blown. The dealership made an appointment to fix it for 3 weeks later. My boyfriend had to take off work to take the truck in, dropped it off where the dealership gave him a ride home. A few hours later they called and said they were coming to get him and the truck was done. NO ONE ever came. He had to take a cab to the dealership and nothing was done to the truck!! They said they had to check to serif it was broken, and that the speakers are not carried in the shop! They didn't tell us any of this or even order and speakers before our booked appointment. So after he paid for his cab, he had to pay the service department for them doing nothing but make him miss work and keep his truck all day. We were furious. We ended up buying new speakers and had another company put them in. They said if we wanted new exhaust they would install for free. So we gave them a second change and ordered exhaust for the truck. We told them we were leaving the island and had to ship the vehicle in 6 weeks and needed the parts before then. They gave us a date (3-4 weeks) from oder date. When the date came up 4 weeks later, they said they just ordered it that they had to wait till they had enough orders to even place an order. WE WERE NEVER TOLD THIS WHEN WE PLACED OUR ORDER AND WERE CHARGED!! So our oder was never even placed for 3 weeks. Then when we asked where it was even at they did not have any tracking information on it. We got passed around from service employee to another. We will never use this service department again! Never go to Cutter Ford. From now on we go to honolulu ford. read more

Went down, took a look at a couple, but the numbers just weren't in the ballpark I was looking to be in. Ashley stayed diligent for two weeks.. texting me updates on vehicles coming in. If I could leave 0 stars, I would. To explain my day: I dropped off my car at 9:15am. I was told that the service would either be finished today or they would need to hold it overnight and I would be able to pick it up tomorrow. I was promised that I would receive a phone call from a representative this afternoon to let me know the verdict. I asked if I was able to get a rental vehicle free of charge and they told me that my service warranted one (notice that I had to ask and they did not offer this service to me up front). I told them I would make the decision to get a rental vehicle if they called me and told me that they needed to keep my car over night. By 3:30pm I had not received a phone call so I called the dealership to get a status update. No one picked up so I left a message with the service department. By 4:45 pm, I still had not heard anything and called again. Once again, no one picked up so I left a message with reception. By 6 pm, I still had not heard anything so I called again and you guessed it, no one picked up my call. I decided to try a different department to see if someone would pick up but once again, no one picked up and I had to leave a message. It is now 7pm and no one has returned and of my messages. I logged onto the website to virtually chat with someone. Turns out, the chat people do not work in the dealership and do not have access to your vehicle information so although they were kind and responsive, they were not able to help me with my issue. I have work tomorrow and now my husband will have to drive me which is a huge interruption to both of our schedules. But this begs the question, what if I didn't have a husband or a roommate or someone to drive me? Would Ford pick up the tab for a taxi, bus ticket, or Uber? I am so disappointed with the lack of customer service. I would definitely go somewhere else if you have the choice. VERY DISAPPOINTING. read more

My husband and I got the VIP treatment thanks to Kelly in the Service Department. Kelly was a tremendous help from the time we purchased our 2010 used car from Cutter Ford. Kelly really showed me how being honest and sincere in troubled times can smooth things over in the long run. As time went on, my husband and I decided that trading in the 2010 for a new vehicle would be the best thing to do in our situation. Kelly patiently waited until I gave her the okay to let the sales department know I was interested in such a trade. (this was several months in the making as I contemplated going further into debt) When that such time arrived Kelly contacted Bachan in Sales and he texted me with an introduction and stated that he would take "good care" of us. And HE DID JUST THAT! Once our commitment was confirmed to the make and the model (F150) he did his due diligence and got the paper work started, informed the Finance Department of our budget and Communicated with his Manager in our situation. This was all done without me stepping on the lot yet. Bachan took the incentive to call me and state there was a Ford F150 that would keep us on budget and he offered to drive it to me since I only had a 30 minute window for that day. Talk about VIP service! He came and I "FaceTime" my husband and we agreed this was most likely the deal we would do with Cutter Ford Aiea. Because of Bachan's dedication to drive the vehicle to my location, work within my timeframe I went home after a long day of working, picked up my husband and we headed back to Aiea. I am glad we did because after thinking that white F150 was a great deal my eyes caught the glimpse of a sexy black on black F150 sport XLT quietly sitting between two other trucks. Bachan didn't pay much attention at first to my interest since our appointment was scheduled with doing numbers on the white F150 (the truck he brought to my work place). But what he did next was "Genius" he went back to the sticker and looked closely at the numbers and told me that it was a $4,000.00 difference in price. And there you go, attention to a clients desire, researching the price difference, clarifying if we were comfortable in the increase made it a no brainer. Because of that we happily went over budget and decided in the long term we will be happier in doing this now than trading in the vehicle a few years down the line. Mark in the Finance Department was our next step. He is 5*****Star great in being calm, easy to talk to and very detailed oriented in going over every part of the closing contract. He even zoomed in on fine print and reassured me things were being typed in exactly the way he was explaining it to us verbally. I Love that!!! He also showed us on the computer page by page what was said and done over the conversations and changes we were agreeing to. We also signed up for additional coverage because Ford offered to cover not only maintenance but dent, paint, tire, windshield, wireless keys replacement, inside upholstery warranty and rust proofing protection for $72.00 more in our monthly payments. The things we say we can't afford but in time it happens more than once we pay out of pocket because we didn't want to commit in spending more at the point of sale. (our contract was given to us on a computer stick, no paper work, times are surely different now) We then went outside to see Bachan again and he walked over our purchase and we entered the vehicle for our first tutorial regarding technology and all the features in this purchase. Wow I am speechless in what Ford is offering now days. Needless to say VIP service can be available even if you don't spend a great deal you get treated like you did at Cutter Ford Aiea! read more

Before visiting Cutter Ford I read a review on here and was a bit concerned. Since they had the vehicle I wanted I figured I'd give it a shot. Well it turns out that the review I read couldn't have been further from the truth. This was the best auto buying experience I have ever had. My salesperson Ashley was very pleasant and eager to help me from the moment she met me at my car. It turned out that they had sold the car that I really was looking for the day before but we found one similar that had a bit more equipment then I was looking for but have grown to love. I ended up purchasing an Edge Sport instead of the SEL. What a nice vehicle. When it came to financing, I was already approved with my bank so I had no concerns, but Mark talked me into financing with one of his since he got me a lower interest rate. He also recommended that I get the maintenance plan and extended warranty to save me money in repairs and routine maintenance. The finance department was very thorough and easy to deal with. When I went to drive off, I noticed a small scratch on the front bumper. Ashley's manager Joe said he would take care of it but I would have to bring it back in a few days. Two days ago we finished the scratch repair and it looks great. I'll tell all my friends and co workers looking for a new Ford to see Ashely and crew at Cutter Ford. Thanks. Joe. read more

We had just gotten ourselves a 2013 Ford Explorer over the weekend and have been so excited to write this review. First off, we went there back in 2012 while I was pregnant with my second child, we set an appointment and were told that we were to meet with Gawnie upon arrival. So, we get there and Gawnie already had these cars picked out for us according to our preference, however, I saw the brand new 2013 Limited Edition Ford Explorer and fell in love. We knew it was way out of our budget, we told Gawnie that from the get go, but he also saw how much I loved the car so we took it for a test drive. Fast forward, we left without buying the car, we just weren't in a position to financially afford it, but since we had such a great experience with Gawnie, we told ourselves that when the day came and we are ready to purchase a new vehicle, Gawnie would be our first choice. So, here we are on February 7, 2014, 3 days away from my husband's birthday, we had been talking about getting our car and all the positive signs were there for us to get the new car we've been wanting. We went back to Cutter Ford Aiea and asked to be helped by Gawnie. Told him our budget straight up and put him to work and of course, he didn't disappoint, chosing cars within the budget we gave him, until we asked about the car I've been crazy about since 2012, lol Gawnie knew it was out of the budget we gave him first but was willing to find a basic model, but I guess the heart wants what the heart wants and guess what, my heart didn't want a basic model and decided to bend on my budget just a little more. I didn't like their asking price so we went back and forth a little bit, then finally, I've got my car, not at their asking price(lol), some freebies included and I'm a happy wife along with a happy husband for his early birthday present, well, until after his birthday(which is today), then the explorer will be mine:) I could've given this 5 stars if this was just based on our experience with Gawnie, I didn't really like the finance guy, I had already been there for almost 4hrs and me being pregnant, I was hungry, back was hurting and really tired, but he was trying to sell us these extra warranties and got loud when I said that we didn't want the warranties and that I was tired. This is a dishonest business, do not trust this dealership when deciding where to buy a car. We bought a Ford Edge less than 1 year ago on the mainland. The battery failed in July, but was covered under warranty. Cutter Ford replaced the battery because they were required to under warranty. However, they installed a faulty battery that died only a few months later in November. Now they refuse to replace or pay for the faulty battery that they installed in my car. Cutter Ford is dishonest because they installed a broken battery in my car and won't replace it. What is the point of a warranty if you replace one broken item with another broken item? Cutter Ford doesn't stand by their work or their products. They will rip you off and take advantage of you. Furthermore, their management team is rude and unprofessional. I spoke with Joanie Ishiki who talked to me in a condescending manner and refused to offer any help in resolving the situation. She didn't care that I was upset that this dealership installed a broken battery in my car and refused to replace it. Even worse, she tried to get me to buy another battery from them by telling me what a great "sale" they were having on batteries. Please do not buy any product from this dealership - save yourself the trouble that I experienced. read more

5/9/20 Found a desired used Ford F150 online(AutoTrader) sought info from dealer via online contact instructions, dealership contacted immediately via text, back and forth trying to find concise info on Truck, requested to be emailed correct info, no emails(Jeff, salesman) never sent to myself,unsure still, I called Monday, 5/11/20 to make a appt, arrived at appt, was assigned a male clerk(Dakota) Dakota was courteous and has no part in complaint. I viewed a 2013 Ford F150 XLT SUPERCAB, one of the most popular trucks in USA, Truck was priced $5000 over the high mark of a Kelly Blue Book Value in Excellent Condition, Opened doors, both front seats, holes in seats, inside of vehicle looked like a Pack of Dogs lived inside, Pathetic, entire interior just soiled/trashed. Exterior, under carriage was encrusted in rust(this had been a serious work truck) Spider Cob Webs under truck it had been sitting so long. TPS warning for tire pressure activated upon engine starting. Why would any credible dealership show a vehicle in this condition? I filed a internal complaint via email with dealership website, no contact from dealership! Very subpar experience. You would think that a company effected by a nation wide Pandemic would welcome customers, not Cutter Ford/Aiea. Pathetic! read more

Update: So I was contacted by Ari and Ernie at Cutter and seems like they got on the same page. I actually ended up with a better deal than I started with...so that's good. I'm going to upgrade my rating slightly based on their end efforts. The top notch service I receive from Dino in the service department, Bachan, and Mike G. in the sales department, as well as with Mark in finance, gives me restored faith in Ford as a brand and in customer care that is hard to compare to these days. I edited this post from bad to good and here's why. From the time I purchased my 2013 Ford Explorer at 8k miles. I had called after my first car wash to inform there service department of what I found which was rust spots all over. They told me to bring it in when I'm ready so I did. At 13k miles I brought it in. First they told me it'll be covered under the 36k mile warranty, then they told me it's not covered because it falls under the 12k mile warranty. Interesting part is I had called in at 8k. I was really upset because I felt like they didn't care about my family car. A very expensive bill to fix it too. Then Cutter Fords General Manager Pat replied to my original post. A very educated person who is knowledgable with Fords system. Educated me on how the rust spots is a Fall Out rust spot. Meaning, tiny metal objects in the air has fallen onto my car, sat there long enough to start rusting. Then he came up with a solution. A detailer that specializes in getting the objects out and making the paint look like new. This service for fall out rust spots falls under the 12k mile warranty. It's a one time complimentary service so it's your responsibility to keep the fall out metal objects off after. I recommend getting it detailed with the clay bar every 6 months to keep your car looking new. I give the G.M. Pat a 5 star and the service department a 2 star. There service department needs to learn how important it is for a customer to make a appointment ASAP to claim warranty and consult with this excellent G.M. before a decision is made. It would've saved a headache from posting on here. read more
