I came here for lunch around 2 PM and ordered from the dinner menu. You have to ask for the menu. When I first arrived, I asked for a table by the window. They told me it was for their VIP club and sat me in a less desirable location. Later when my waitress arrived at the table she said that they had a table open up on the wall by the water and moved me there. Crab dip . They do not skimp on the crab in this dip. It's balanced with artichoke, creamy, cheesy. The thin crostinis are perfect with the dip. Sea bass. Perfectly cooked, delicious coconut curry sauce and shrimp cake. I didn't care for the shiitake mushroom seasoning - tasted like a sake vinegar marinade but a bit too harsh for my liking. I avoided the mushrooms but everything else about the dish was excellent. Service . I was trying to decide between the salmon and the Seabass. She couldn't describe the salmon with lemon Myrtle sauce because it was new on the menu as of last week. However, she brought me a sample of the sauce which was a pea purée. I didn't care for it, but I can't say whether it would pair well with salmon. read more

Great find, great food and service! We stumbled upon this restaurant on a Sunday night while going through Pikes Place Market. We had an hour before we had to head to the airport so we got a nice table at the bar with a great view. Benjamin our server was on top of it! He was great. Everything we had was so delicious! We got the calamari to start, we shared the clam chowder which was amazing and had the steamed clams and the wedge as well. I ordered takeout from this place. 1 lb. King Crab Legs and .5 lb dungeness legs. The containers seemed a bit light... So I weighed them. Instead of the 16 oz I should have expected for the king crab, I received a paltry 7.3 oz. Instead of 8oz on the Dungeness, I received just 4.9 oz. The King Crab cost me $137. Where is my other $87 worth of crab legs?! The Dungeness, while only losing $10 worth of crab meat, the meat that I got was dry and leathery. I'm sure they have plenty of great dishes. Just don't get the crab legs, or if you do, bring your food scale with you. read more

We ventured into Cutters for lunch after hitting up Pike Place Market for flowers for our cruise to Alaska. The host showed us to our table and got a vase to hold my flowers while we ate. Kudos to him. Our server, Grant, was very helpful giving me recommendations about the menu. He was friendly and knowledgeable about what was being served. I ordered the Salmon with Watermelon Panzanella. The salmon was perfectly prepared and the watermelon relish was delicious but I wish they would have served the bread more like a crouton because it was soggy. It did not take away from how good the dish was. My husband ordered the Summer Picnic Salad that he enjoyed and helped me with the salmon. I ordered a glass of wine and my husband had a cocktail. Halfway through lunch we ordered two more glasses of wine to finish off our lunch. Sadly the wine didn't come until after we had finished our food. The bar is quite a ways from where we were seated and my suggestion would be to get a 'bar runner' to help deliver drinks to the table when they are busy saving the servers time to service their customers. Great place for a late lunch or early dinner! First time in Seattle and what a great experience. The food was fantastic even if rather large portions. But hey, more is always better. Want to specifically give a shout to both Jess the Mixologist (a.k.a. bartender) she was over the top skilled and helpful and truly glad to help the customer. Had dinner at Cutters Crabhouse on a weeknight with my partner, and overall, it was a solid experience with some definite highlights. The restaurant was pretty quiet, with plenty of empty tables--except for those by the windows. Even though we didn't have a window seat, the view of the Sound and the Seattle Wheel was still excellent. Service was quick and attentive throughout dinner, which made for a smooth and enjoyable evening. We started with the brussels sprouts and calamari, and while they were totally fine, they weren't anything particularly memorable. For our mains, I ordered the Sake Marinated Chilean Sea Bass, and my boyfriend had the Blood Orange Lacquered King Salmon. The standout across both dishes was definitely the fish itself--the salmon melted in your mouth, and the sea bass was flaky and tender. However, the supporting elements of the dishes fell flat. My sea bass came with a shrimp cake that had a strange, clashing texture and barely any seafood flavor--it mostly just tasted like cake. The roasted vegetable hash with the salmon also didn't complement the fish well. For the price point, I expected a more well-rounded and cohesive plate rather than just great fish with underwhelming sides. While the views and service were great, I don't think I'd rush back unless I was really craving perfectly cooked seafood at a high price point. read more

Made a reservation for Valentine's Day, got to Cutters 5 minutes before my reservation, was told they were running behind which I have lots of understanding for. Waited in the lobby for 45 minutes with many frustrated guests and finally got seated almost an hour after my reservation time. Server was in a rush the whole time. After placing our drink order, we waited 30 minutes for them to come out. Ordered our food, the steak was dry and completely flavorless. The shrimp was cold and tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day long. For a $300 dollar dinner I expected so much better. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. His recommendations were great. I ordered the fettuccine with shrimp and crab, and it was absolutely delightful very creamy and flavorful pasta with perfectly cooked seafood. My boyfriend ordered the snow crab legs, incredibly fresh and lots of flavor. To start, we had the clam chowder - it was a generous portion with rich flavors that complemented everything else we ordered. Understandable, after all this visual excitement , they are tired and overwhelmed by the many Market highlights. They just want a quiet place to decompose. So I want to take them to a nice place. I usually used Cutters. Great view, seafood and a place to relax after market shopping. But Cutters, you did us wrong. Highly overpriced seafood. Let's order some Red crab legs. Sounds delicious, with herb couscous, seasonal market vegetables, drawn butter and fresh lemon. One would think not too expensive. All are fairly inexpensive items. But the charge is 126.50. Ok, let's get a mere clam chowder. 14.85. Trying to stay within budget, a char grilled filet of fish, at seven ounces, comes with potatoes, asparagus and peppercorn Demi sauce. For this you will pay 53.08. Let's try some crab. Crab house sampler sounds great, until you see the price. Alaska red king crab legs, Alaskan snow crab legs, Dungeness crab 1.5 lbs. For 101.20. You are too expensive. Especially since we can buy the majority of these items at the nearby Market for a fraction of the cost. The view is very nice. But the service is slow and the cooked seafood items are not consistently cooked well. Cannot subject my friends to overpriced mediocre seafood, rushed service and high prices. At one point, I loved this place. So sad to give it a poor review. read more

What an outstanding dining experience! The service was impeccable, the view magnificent, and the food was outstanding. We started with dungeness crab legs and calamari. The crab legs were very good, but the calamari was the best I've ever had. The batter was incredibly light, and it was cooked perfectly. We followed with salmon (my wife) and tuna (me). The tuna was cooked perfectly, which is rare. It was accompanied by a wasabi rice, which was delicious. Throughout the meal the wait staff perfectly threaded the line of being attentive without being intrusive. I recommend dining here if you have the opportunity! read more

Our waiter had to come back twice for clarifications after we wrote things down (which is fine - I'd rather them check than to have an issue), but we ordered Dungeness crab legs and never received them. We were not checked in on for 30 minutes. Then when they finally came back, they said "oh, the waiter doesn't remember you ordering those" - we opted to cut out losses and we said don't worry about it, and we said for another 15 minutes waiting for our check. Then someone came out with and offered us crab dip (which WAS good, minus the two giant hairs in the bread...). They brought us new bread. Then it took them an additional 15 minutes for someone to come and get our check. All in all, we never saw the original waiter again, as he seemed focused on two ladies at the end of the bar. There was one waiter who seemed very nice, and then one additional staff member in flashy suit that was nice, but were were less than satisfied with this dining experience. Dined here last night for a late anniversary dinner. Reservations were easy to get and it wasn't very crowded. The hostess acknowledged us promptly, and even congratulated us on our anniversary. I let them know when I made the reservation. Just a note... For parking purposes, they do validate for the underground parking that is adjacent to the restaurant. We started out with some oysters on the half shell and seafood chowder. Both were absolutely outstanding! For the main courses, we selected jambalaya, and Chilean Seabass.
