I absolutely hate going to any CVS. Their stores are a mess and the shelves usually don't have what you're looking for today. I stopped by one. I didn't quite find what I needed, but Grant the cashier asked me if I got everything I needed. No. Then he went out of his way to show me where to find it and what would work especially for the buy one get one program and then he help me with my coupons too! Dropped my disposable camera off at CVS a month ago and went by to check on it today because I never got a call and they said my camera must have gotten lost in the mail because it had a Bag Received Empty Sticker on it. Guy at front gave me corporate number. Called corporate and they said this CVS is responsible and another thing I could do is call USPS. Where is that camera? Where are those memories? I am one of the few native Austinites that still lives within a 10 mile radius of where I was born, attended primary & secondary school, and now own my home. Of late I am becoming acutely aware of the "challenged" area in which I live. I realize times are socially, emotionally and economically hard but I can honestly say, as a single minority mom, I'm doing pretty well. So, as an upstanding citizen I am of late appalled with the obvious harassment I have experienced TWICE at the CVS on Briarcliff. As I shop, I received intimidating steer downs by two suspect males that, if I didn't know better, were plain clothed security guards. Today's harassment was perpetrated by an intimidating Hispanic male that stood less than 6 feet from me steering...glaring at me! What an insult as I continue to shop at this CVS, regardless of their MANY negative reviews. My experience, prior to these recent encounters, was generally positive. But the tides have changed and this behavior by CVS employees is UNACCEPTABLE! Obviously my years of patronage is not wanted!! So, I'll have to express this sentiment to my family and friends as I take my business elsewhere!! read more

This is more than just an ugly review and a disappointed customer, I'm a neighbor and actually concerned that this place is still open. I have been a resident of Windsor Park for the last 7ish years. I've learned I can't come here for anything - not even for something "quick." To be clear - I live within walking distance. I actually would rather get in my car and fight the crowds at either Target or HEB - both close. I lost both my mother and my father-in-law in the last 5 months, so I thought I'd do my best to make Christmas really special this year. I went online and found that CVS had the best prices and made holiday cards that I could pick up in 24 hours. I took a while to pick out the design and put our own pictures into the order. I finished about 8:30 this morning. It said the order would be ready by 10:30 this morning. I went to pick up the order at 7:00 p.m. I walked in with my 8 yo kid, who was also excited about the order, around 7 pm and was ignored for at least 15 minutes. I finally spoke up and said I had an order for our Christmas Cards order. The immediate response from the "supervisor" was that she could not control whether or not they could make my cards. The "machine" was broken. I got upset - it said the order would be ready literally 9 hours before. I received no indication that it was not going to happen. I was shocked that this was even an issue. The promise on the website is that this happens within 24 hours. I approved all update texts and emails from CVS after I made my order. I have not received a single update by any form of communication from CVS or the store. When I got upset, the "supervisor" (who would not give me her name, but was working there at 12/17/2024 at 7p) told me she didn't like my language. I never once cussed UNTIL THEN! She didn't like my tone, but that's because I was frustrated. There was nothing wrong with my language. When she started getting upset about my language I felt like I then had the freedom to cuss. I then told her I wanted her to call someone to find out where my "fucking" cards were. Shouldn't have said that, and my daughter was uncomfortable, and I certainly take responsibility for that. While this "supervisor" was (barely) taking care of other customers, I started talking to my kid. I apologized to her and told her that I chose CVS because they were cheapest and I wanted to make this particular Christmas special and they promised we could get them to us in 24 hours. And I started tearing up. This has been a very difficult holiday season. My daughter, who doesn't see me cry often, started getting more and more uncomfortable. The associate behind the counter started laughing. So I asked her, "Are you laughing at me? Is this a laughing matter? Does this seem funny?" And she responded with, "Yes, this is funny. You're funny." I didn't know how to respond, and I'm not proud of myself AT ALL, but I said, "Fuck you!" She responded, "Fuck you!" I lost all control and just wanted to get out of there with my order, but clearly they didn't have it. I don't know what else to say except I've never been happy in this store and I'm so disappointed with CVS in general. I just spend well over $100 for a service and a product I don't have. But worse, we were laughed out of a store for their ineptitude. read more

Ostensibly the name "CVS" stands for Customer, Value, Service." It appears it's easier to come up with a somewhat catchy acronym name than it is to deliver on the promise. I'm a senior with back pain so running around to various stores isn't my idea of fun these days. CVS did their best to make it a miserable experience. Two experiences at two different CVS locations in Austin, TX in the past week have convinced me to NEVER go to another CVS again: 1) CVS in Windsor Park on Briarcliff: I scheduled a Shingles vaccine online and showed up at my scheduled time, (confirmed by automated text the day prior), only to be told by the pharmacy clerk that their refrigerator had broken a couple of days prior and none of their vaccines were any good. I asked why they hadn't called or texted me to cancel the appointment since they have all of my info. Instead of an apology, she simply said rudely, "We're too busy." OK. Got it. Zero other customers in the store. Hmmm. 2) Leaving there, I located another CVS 2.2 miles away on Airport Blvd and drove right over there. From the parking lot, I called their pharmacy counter and asked if they had the Shingles vaccine in stock. She replied yes, so I asked if I could come in and get the shot since I was right outside. She said no, that I'd need to book an appointment online. Really? I don't think so. I then called my local H‑E‑B market, who told me they give those vaccines and no appointment was needed. Drove there and was in and out in 15 minutes! Bye bye CVS. Will be going to H‑E‑B for all in the future. I suggest to CVS that they either change their name or change their attitude. They canceled my requested refills twice without notifying me. The first time was due to the cost of the medication which is my decision to make, not their's. I discovered this when I didn't receive my pickup notice after a few days not. I hate their horrible phone tree which makes it almost impossible to talk to the pharmacist. I went to cvs which is the one I mostly use for prescriptions cause I believe the store has gotten a bit more expensive than Walgreens. This one is conveniently 2 blocks from my house. I purposely wanted to be at the store because my son's doctor knew it would cut it close to closing time. She said she'd rush it over as soon as the results came in. Well at 20:55 the results came in and I was at the counter ready to ask. I told the pharmacist my child's doctor was rushing the prescription over and his first reaction was "we close in 4 minutes". I know that. That's why I'm here. He said "it takes a couple minutes to transfer over. You can have them send it to Walgreens. They are open till 21:00." They do not take my insurance. What time do yall open? 08:00. Everyone in my house has a bug but I have to get up at 08:00 to get my child's antibiotics. He could not wait a couple minutes for an antibiotic that is literally a bottle, fill with water, and shake. Instead he wanted, and was, walking out the store at 21:00. What happened to people going above and beyond? Walking out at 21:05-21:10 will kill a pharmacist. read more

Nothing against the pharmacy techs or pharmacist themselves. My issue is the fact that the phone system does everything it can to avoid connecting you with someone working at the pharmacy and forces you to leave a message and wait for a call back. I wish I could give zero stars. While I'm sure no one who can do anything about it will actually read this, I'm sharing my experience anyway. Friday, June 24th, 2022, I was treated with such disregard by the brunette in the pharmacy that I was stunned. I had just left my dentist with a PAINFUL tooth extraction and took my pain prescription to be filled (this was the closest pharmacy). This woman walked up with an attitude, looked at my prescription, and pushed it back to me, stating that they don't fill this prescription from a paper prescription. She then walked away from me and sat back down as if I didn't matter at all. I said I didn't know that let me call my dentist's office. She was not interested in anything else I had to say and completely ignored me the rest of the time while I was on the phone with my dentist. Newsflash sweetheart, everyone is not a drug addict and I certainly am not one. You should learn to treat all of your customers with respect or find another occupation. I have pictures where 2 ladies bought maybe 60 tide liquids and 40 downy liquid. I came at 8:15am and unable to buy any detergent. Pharmacy department still disappointing. I used to use this CVS because it was a $0 copay under my Rx plan. Customer Service at the pharmacy counter has never been a strong-point of this location. My plan now covers $0 at another pharmacy. Called this CVS today to see if they could order a particular medication since my Pharmacy was out and said it was showing up on back order. When I called this CVS they said I had to come to the store for the Pharmacist to see the prescription first. Even though I told them what it was (the exact script) the quantity and it is in our prescription history in their computer. Very poor customer service at pharmacy counter still. Called another Rx store in neighborhood and they took the time to look up medication and confirm ability to order for me. read more

Man, oh, man... Despite how sweet and helpful the staff is at the counter and around the store, the people at the pharmacy have managed to diminish completely my opinion of this location. Bad attitude? Not ideal, but I am an adult and can handle it. Messing up a prescription that is time sensitive and giving me the run around causing me to run back to my doctor in a frenzy later to find out it there was nothing wrong with the prescription, just the pharmacy? Not acceptable. Even the doctor's office said they dread working with pharmacy because many incidents like this repeatedly happen, which is injurious to patients' health. ZERO stars! I have had it with this ghetto CVS! It's close to home but it's just not worth the shorter commute if one can't get their prescriptions on time. Plus, the pharmacy department's attitude is horrible - extremely rude and unprofessional pretty much all the time. They also loudly discuss the clients' personal or medical info for everyone near the counter to hear. I really regret having a couple prescriptions transferred here. Now, because I complained, they are *withholding* medication that I usually get 2 days early even though insurance covers it! Don't even get me started on being spare-changed or harassed by people in the parking lot. I would much rather drive a few more miles than be treated like $hit. read more

This pharmacy is horrible. My boyfriend goes here and he's seen a tech eating a sub sandwich while filing prescriptions, and a pharmacist on staff insisted he could take two sleeping pills when that was not true. He has sent their customer service info on this and they never responded. read more

This store carries pretty much what you would expect to find in a chain drugstore. There is a pharmacy and it does a good enough job. But what is outstanding is the people watching. I've seen some of the oddest characters here, including one New Year's Eve (hey, I only needed a gallon of milk, okay?) There was a very demanding, very eccentric woman in her party clothes and with her very large elderly dog--at the checkout! The woman was occupying most of the sales clerk's time with her many coupons (some for items she was not buying) and her occasional remarks about needing to hurry to a party. Yet she was taking her sweet time. When you come here to shop, don't be in a rush or you might miss the ambience of this place. P.S. The air conditioning is always cranked up too cold. read more

I never have issues with this place. The staff is great and the pharmacists have always been attentive to me. CVS once stayed late open for me while I was going through sending a Moneygram. Also their ATM charges no fees if you're a member of a credit union! Great stuff. Not sure where all the bad reviews come from. read more

This pharmacy functions better as a medicine distributor than a pharmacy. They have what you need, but they provide no customer service function and medication maintenence that a pharmacy should provide. Need a prescription renewed? Don't bother renewing via the app or phone call. They fail to fax your physician every time. Expecting a call when your prescription is ready? It will not happen regardless of their policy or automated services. Need a refill on your prescription? Amazingly, they never received the order. Getting low on you regular medication? Don't expect them to notify you or have a refill ready. Unless you plan to walk in with written prescription and wait, this "pharmacy" serves no other purpose. I've been there for 2 years, and can count on 1 hand the number of times they've actually gotten it right (e.g. exclusively when I walked in with the prescription in hand and waited). So sad that the meaning of "pharmacy" has been so brutally downgraded by the poor service at this Briarcliff CVS pharmacy. I didn't want to move my prescriptions, but it's just not worth the effort to keep them there. read more
