This place is 10/10. As a vegan of 4+ years I have tried countless vegan burger joints and this hits the spot. They only have a few burger options but they're gooooood. I want to say they're all 'dupes' for a big mac, animal style In N Out, and the deluxe from Dick's (my personal fav). The quality of the ingredients are great, they have a good online ordering system and friendly staff. Dare I mention that I think they make their sauces in house? The hunnee mustard & tartar were out of this world. The hunnee sparkling lemonade also reminded me of the Red Mill one so this place as a whole is so nostalgic and I can't wait to come back. I love Cycle Dogs! They have a solid regular menu, plus super inventive specials to keep things interesting. They are located in the Peddler Brewing beer garden. If it's busy, you can order at Cycle Dogs and enjoy a beer or cider while you wait. My favorite is the elote dog... for a corn lover, it's the ultimate but I also really enjoyed the Seattle dog when I tried that. Their fries are also tasty and crispy. The quality of items you get for the price is really solid. It's decadent "junk food" type stuff for the most part but it's all vegan and super tasty which is awesome! I want to like this place more than I do, which is why I keep ordering different things and have tried a lot of the menu now. It's...okay. Even for being 'fast food' style, it's okay. The hot dogs, their original menu item, are good, though since moving into their brick and mortar I feel like they aren't cooked as well. Everything is fine. It's not outstanding. It's heavy and salty, which hits the spot sometimes. I wouldn't say it has depth to its flavor and often by the last few bites is a bit cloying or too much. Their breakfast specials are usually pretty good. Their burgers can be skipped. The mac and cheese is fine, but I think everyone has such specific mac and cheese preferences it's unfair to judge them for it being not excellent when it is perfectly good. They are heavy handed with their sauces, which usually I wouldn't complain about, but it saturates their buns to the point of ruining a decent meal. Yet every time I order from here, when I am done I am not happy for my meal. I'm just...full. The service is REALLY hit or miss. Some people are really friendly, but others barely acknowledge you standing there...waiting...for them to do the primary aspect of their job. read more

The servers and owner are all so kind and will help you decide if you're vacillating between options (which is highly likely when you look at all the delicious choices they have!!) and the rotating seasonal cocktails are incredible and beautifully put together. The street corn and hangry fries are some of my favorite smaller things but the burgers and dogs are incredible. And the brunch... Unparalleled. Seattle has lost a few vegan restaurants over the last couple years, and it's so wonderful that this place has continued to be a gathering space for our community. As a non-Vegan, Cycle dogs was a bit of a let down. While certainly the best vegan hot dog I've had, and winner of several vegan awards, it certainly wasn't one of the better hot dogs I've had. I went with a few friends, and we were all quite hungry. I got the breakfast dog and fries, refugees came to $14 w/ tip. The breakfast dog features hashbrowns and Chipotle mayo, along with vegan Chorizo and a vegan hot dog. We all started our dogs, enjoyed them at first, but couldn't find it within us to finish them. It was quite evident that this was something else, and that something else wasn't very satisfying. For vegans, this might be the closest thing to a hot dog you can find, but it's not one. While cycle enjoys the luxury of five stars on Yelp and several hot dog awards, its succeeded at it's own category: Vegan dogs. Let's just not call them hot dogs. read more

Whilst visiting Seattle earlier this month, I met up with a lovely fellow vegan for dinner and pints and asked her to bring me somewhere *~uniquely Seattle*~ that I could brag about to all my homies later. She succeeded in bringing me over to Peddler's Brewing Company, on a quest for ~mystical gourmet vegan hot dogs that come from a bike~. Cycle Dogs was nestled in a corner of the Peddler's patio, all set up and ready to go. We chatted with the very friendly owner/veggie dog slinger, Keaton, ordered, and gripped a spot under an umbrella, stoked for our dogs. I had the Elote dog- which was essentially some frickin' delicious Mexican street corn on top of a Field Roast frankfurter. Seriously the best veggie dog I've ever stuffed in my face. Also enjoyed at our table was a second Elote, and also the PDX Dog ft. Firefly Kimchi, Avocado, and ~Secret Agent Sauce~! My companions actually happened to be supporters of Cycle Dog's Kickstarter campaign as well, and it was super rad to see a crowdfunding success story in action. I couldn't believe that they've only been in business two months so far. SEATTLE WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOU HAD THIS?! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO NOW IN EDMONTON SANS ELOTE DOG?!?! I see a few reviews on here and on google referencing wait times and it's just the unfortunate truth on the transition between the pandemic and social distancing measures to the freedom of in person orders. Awesome vegan hotdogs! We got the elote dog which I wish had more sauce and less corn. It seemed a little dry. They had animal style fries which were very yummy! Price is a little steep. One tiny burger, a hotdog, fries and a drink for $30. If you're looking for the place, go to the street behind the Peddler Brewery, you'll see a place to park and you'll see Cycle Dogs in the beer garden. Wait was a little long, but not horrible. Cycle Dogs is the permanent food truck located at Peddler Brewing in Ballard. I love a good food truck and because I am usually stuck just eating french fries (never vegan options) I was SO excited when I discovered cycle dogs was 100% VEGANNNNN!! I believe they use Fieldroast sausages which are some of my favorites to buy from a local health food market. Paired with some sunshine and good beer I decided to grab the Seattle dog to see what this odd combo of cream cheese on a bun was all about. The menu is a little more extensive than just hot dogs (burger, sides) and I wish I had picked something else to try a variety, but my fiance and I just each got the same thing. They give you a buzzer so you can go back and enjoy your beers without having to hover around the truck waiting for your name to be called. Took about 8 minutes and these beauties were ready! The dog was good, nice spices, but the cream cheese and onion combo wasn't my thing. I think next time I'll try something different, also, wish these were a bit more affordable, 7.50+ for just a simple cream cheese and onion field roast is a bit steep, but I do understand the cost of local food trucks/supporting vegan. As a health-conscious vegan, I was certainly wary of a hot dog food truck with no salad option on the menu, but I decided to give it a try one weekend and was thoroughly impressed. The Trash Can Burger was featured in VegNews magazine as one of the best burgers in the U.S., so that's what I ordered. It certainly wasn't pretty, but I guess I shouldn't have expected beauty from something named after a garbage bin. It was delicious, though--full of chorizo and roasted corn and a burger patty and some sort of sauce... I want one now! They also frequently serve specials. Sometimes this is a copycat Big Mac or a Carl's Junior burger. Other times it's just something kind of silly like a mac 'n' cheese burger. They also do a special Sunday brunch, usually all-you-can-eat pancakes. Note this because you can't order off the regular menu during brunch. read more

How can a plant based burger be so good? These vegan hot dogs are life changing. I'm not vegan but my girlfriend is, so on our recent trip to Seattle I was desperate for her to try a Seattle Dog, and Cycle Dogs made that possible. Set up in the beer garden of Peddler Brewing Company in Ballard, this little food truck brings serious flavor. The Seattle Dog had vegan cream cheese and grilled onions, of course. They've got a plethora of toppings you can add to your dog or burger like fresh white onion, jalapeños, dill relish and sweet relish. I wish they had offered barbecue sauce, as that's my usual sauce of choice on my Seattle Dog, but ketchup and sriracha sufficed. The dog was delicious, and we were able to try the Elote Dog and Mac n Cheese that our friend ordered. The Elote Dog was UNREAL. Definitely will be grabbing one of those on our next visit. The Mac would've benefited from some toppings like sriracha or jalapeños (what can I say? we like it hot) but all in all it was good. They ran out of dogs towards the end of the afternoon, so get there a bit early on a nice day if you want your pick of the lot. Needless to say, we can't wait to come back for more brews and dogs. And our order took 50 mins for them to make. Though we ordered online and arrived 10 minutes after the pickup time in the text message, our food wasn't ready and we had to wait 10 more minutes. Cycle dogs is almost always a bad time for me. I've been about 5 times because I REALLY wanted to like them and support a vegan business. First time I went, everything was really delayed and we had to wait past our pick up time. Totally fair with shortages but still a bummer. One time we were eating on the patio and an employee was smoking right behind us. Not ideal while eating. I've also gotten a braut from them before that was undercooked- not sure how considering it took 20 minutes to make. This last time just takes it to where I won't even bother with them again. I ordered food and got a 20 min pick up time. I arrive at cycle dogs and get a call right at pick up time that my items are actually not in stock. Why did they wait so long to tell me? I don't know, probably to avoid a refund as much as possible. They offered a replacement of hot dogs for the corn dogs so we decided to do it since we were there anyway. We would have rather had a refund had we been notified earlier. We go to eat our food and the buns for the hot dogs are completely split, and the topo Chico I ordered was a completely different brand.
