Haven't been here in awhile so figured I'd give an updated review. Had to find parking in their additional lot across the street. Restaurant wasn't packed so we were able to seat ourselves quick. They have music playing but also have tvs on. They have updated to digital menus. They bring the sauces right at the start for the table. The server was great, very patient, and attentive. We ordered one drink, calamari, ceviche, and whole chicken with fries and comes with a salad. Calamari was really good. The chicken was tasty. The ceviche was also good and despite it being later in the day it tasted fresh. The drink was also good. Chicha was good. The fees in this place add up quick. They automatically add 18% gratuity to every check. They also add a service fee. Was the drink worth 20?! I mean it was decent but that pricing is crazy! Food was good but just be ready to pay. Ordered takeout with coworkers... originally ordered the tallarines verdes with chicken, but my order came in as the tallarines a la hauncaina... though I wish I had gotten my original order, I got to try something new! It tasted mild, and very cheesy which is unfortunate because my lactose intolerance was not happy... but the chicken was nicely grilled and seasoned! There's a lot of Peruvian places in north jersey, so although I'm not sure I would order from here again, I am glad I got to try a new dish. read more

The food at this establishment is consistently excellent; however, the service did not meet my expectations during my recent visit. My family frequently places pickup orders through DoorDash (not delivery), and we typically bring cash to purchase extra hot sauce to complement the chicken. On Sunday, I went to pick up our order and brought cash with the intention of purchasing additional hot sauce. The manager assisted me, and I politely asked if I could buy more hot sauce, showing that I had cash on hand and was prepared to pay for it. Since I am fluent in both English and Spanish, there was no issue with communication. The manager gave me two packets of hot sauce for free, which I appreciated. However, I explained that i have plenty of people at home that would likely want more hot sauce and asked again if I could purchase additional packets, clearly showing that I had cash ready. The manager responded by saying, "It is busy, and I have no time." Having worked in the restaurant industry for over six years, I found this response unprofessional. I would never tell a customer that I was too busy to serve them. We came here to celebrate Peruvian Independence Day and loved every second of it. We got there around 640 and it wasn't filled yet so we were seated immediately. Right after we placed our order it started getting packed. Our food was brought to our table so quick that it shocked us. Every single bite was so appetizing and we just couldn't get enough. Our server was kind and very attentive to our needs to the point where we ended up ordering food to go for our families. The place was spacious and the music just reminded you of growing up Peruvian. I used to enjoy this restaurant, when they first opened the food was delish and seasoned well. Ordering on the phone is impossible at times with the loud music in the background and constant being placed on hold mid sentence. Over the past few times I've been there it's been a disappointment. No more chances after my son found a hair in his tallarin verde and when I called to advise, there was hesitation. On how to deal with this mishap they requested I bring back the food, when I did no apologies provided but yet when they provided me with a new batch she asked me check for hair. I typically don't write reviews but this whole event left me without words. Great local spot with big portions. Service was great. Food was fresh and delicious. If you like Peruvian food and in the area I highly recommend you stop in. They have live entertainment on n that evening so it can get a little loud if your trying to have conversations. Check out some of the dishes! Used to love this place but it's gotten worst every time. The last three times I ordered the rotisserie chicken it was blood red inside and slimy raw. I replaced it with Lomo saltado and the meat tasted old . Just gross. The chaufa my boyfriend usually gets and enjoys was extremely salty and the meat over cooked to a crisp the last 3 times it was ordered as well. Wish I could've left a half star!! My wife and I went this past Saturday afternoon. About 4 other families were there. We walked in and there was no one up front to greet or sit you. As we walked in towards the bar, one of the girls said we can sit where we'd like. We sat and waited a bit before a waitress came over, handed us menus and asked if we wanted drinks. Mind you, no introduction or an actual greeting!!! We quickly ordered the red snapper for my wife and I ordered the Jalea (fried seafood platter). Both dishes were VERY, very bland, no taste at all! So this D'carbon opened up just a few months ago and I've been to their other two locations in Paterson but I think I like this one the best. Went in on a Thursday night around 6:30pm and there were maybe just 2 or 3 other tables occupied. They had happy hour going on so I tried their maracuyá (passion fruit) margarita and it was delicious and only $5. My friend and I tried the lomo saltado and the chaufa and pollo a la brasa. The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the steak for the lomo was tender and well-seasoned. Service and prices are good so I can't really think of any cons. Will definitely be back soon to try other dishes. read more

I was here recently and unfortunately, was disappointed. The food and drinks were great but those were the only redeeming qualities. The music was just loud enough that it was a challenge to have a conversation. Service was so-so. The kicker of it is that we just felt that they were not practicing ethical business. When we got the check, everything was $2 more. Fine, we get that the prices have gone up. However, those changes were not reflected on ANY of their menus. We were also charged extra for bags and to-go containers. An 18% gratuity was added to our check for four people. Lastly, there is a 3% charge for using your credit card. We didn't even argue about the bill anymore just because we all just wanted to get out of there. If you do go there, just make sure you bring your own to-go containers and to check the bill. read more

Establishment doesn't provide water at sit down, waitress didn't show up to take our order for 15 minutes after sitting, waitress never brought plates or napkins, I had to ask for them!, waitress didn't check on us at all except to give us the bill, and $40 gratuity was included ,mandatory! Not to mention all of the waitresses stand in the back by the bar staring at everyone with attitudes! Asked for the Happy Birthday request and I was told they didn't do that by our waitress altho I witnessed someone being sung to when I arrived, I tipped a gentleman behind the bar $20 to sing to my grandma, and then they sang for her, when I check the bill they charged me $10 for the "Happy Birthday"! This was our go to for Peruvian food. It was delicious, plates were very filling, but we cannot even step foot inside for about a year. The music in this place is beyond ridiculously loud!!!! The bass makes your food come right back out. It's a small place why do you play music like this is a club!!!! It's insane, you can't enjoy eating there anymore!!! Huge fail for this place! I have been at this restaurant different occasions for lunch, I can say that the food is good, especially the pollo a la brasa. The lomo saltado is very salty. So I'd ask this lomo with no salt, still would be salty. The service is fine. Most of the waiters are nice and helpful. The ambiance looks fine. read more

I drove 25 minutes to get it then had to go back to return my food, when I received no apology or anything and the girl just looked annoyed with me. I then was disappointed as this is the weirdest chaufa I have ever purchased. It was more like fried rice with chicken strips thrown on top. The piqué also wasn't your typical green peruvian pique. My first time here discovered parking is a challenge that alone discourages me from returning. We are greeted by a friendly server but pushy. He started asking us what entree we would like and directly went to the most expensive items on the menu. He proceeded to read the menu to us as if we couldn't read for ourselves, I thought he was telling us about specials! The star of the show is the food, all well done with large portions nicely presented and that's where I give the three stars. I would recommend going at least once. Make sure you speak some Spanish because the staff is not fluent in English. I would recommend this place as a great take out venue. read more

I love the food here so I decided to come in for indoor dining after having ordered from this place through Uber Eats several times. I'm Asian, my BF and his 2kids are Hispanic but does not speak Spanish fluently. So the waitress started speaking in Spanish to greet us. I don't blame her at first to speak Spanish to them but she couldn't have assume I spoke Spanish. We asked her for 3 waters and one daughter asked for "lemonade", waitress looked at her as if she was correcting her and said "¿limonada?". She sets the table with the utensils that were in those lil paper bag sleeves, the one I received obviously had dried up food or soup spilled on it. The water comes and it's in water bottles (which I don't mind due to Covid) but she never told us that it is bottled and there's a charge. With the little bit of Spanish my BF knew, he asked to take one (unopened bottle), she said she did tell us they were coming bottled. (She apparently told us in Spanish). I find this very very rude. Also, while taking our order, she removed her mask to speak to us, isn't that against the law right now? We asked for containers to take home the leftover food and there was food splatter inside the to go containers and black stuff on the edges. I enjoyed the taste of the food but was so upset while eating that it ruined my whole experience. I later heard her speaking to a (white) customer at other table in the little bit of English she knew - I would have preferred that same experience because at least that would have been trying. She never used one English word with us, as if trying to prove to those with me that Hispanics should speak fluent Spanish. If I was in Peru and received this service I would completely understand but I found this type of service extremely disrespectful. read more

I'm very disappointed. I had surgery recently and can't cook. I ordered through uber eats and my order came partially filled. According to the person that picked up the phone she could only give me a credit by asking for her name or I can go pick it up. i had a fine experience dining here **NOTE** that was just to bypass the filters as this is more of an observational review. i've been driving past this location for work for the last 5 years & this is at least the 3rd different place to be here. As the 1 true reviewer said parking is bad. they have a small lot maybe 8-10 vehicles but it's share with residents who live above the restaurant. You can't park in front & the side street is no parking on one side at all times. My suggestion would be to park across the street in the mini-strip center. Hopefully this place will be successful. I would consider getting takeout IF they produce an online menu with English translation but since at this current time it's "unclaimed"(meaning no one from the restaurant looks at reviews) it may never happen read more
