The food was fresh, even felt home cooked almost. Honestly it was too bland for me (I had the steak shrimp plate #10) it came with an orange sauce but I figured it was cream based or mayonnaise based and I'm not a fan of those... so that mighta made a difference. Service was fine:) inside it was kinda chilly and basic, but yeah if you want to feel like you're eating real food that's not processed, that's what it felt like to me!... but they don't have all the popping flavors that most restaurants will add (which are prolly pretty bad for ya) read more

Got the Steak and Shrimp plate with my girlfriend. Had a passion fruit slush. The food took a while to come out and when it did it wasn't even hot. Warm at best. It tasted decent. Had to get an extra side of garlic butter to add flavor. Place was clean though. 7/10. read more

We used to eat here every other day..... untill about a month th ago, I'm not sure if they got rid of their cook, but they need to bring him or her back, the food isn't as good as it used to be, the flavor isn't there, and last week our coworker got sick from her steak Yakisoba...... Horrible service and overpriced food. I paid $30 for one meal and it was not worth it. Poor quality food. I heard mixed reviews about this place but i decided to give it a try....... Definitely not coming back. Don't recommend this place. I left my information for Owner and still no response. Kathleen the cashier was rude and unprofessional. Bad customer service. First time here, live around the corner never knew it was here, so I thought they were newly opened. Pictures and reviews were pretty good for the most part on my research so I was pretty let down for a first impression and felt saddened. I guess the help wanted on the window meant they aren't complete up and flowing well, or.,,they were real busy at the time i came in...,,.or newer cook learning the menu.. or incorrectly timed cooking process for plating. The concept is great and we were completely thrilled about the food but just some of these plates were over cooked. Plate were lacking spice. Eggs should be cooked at the very end to order. I moved to the area recently and loved this place. Tonight I ordered a meal for myself and asked for the meat to be medium rare- got home and it's SOOOO over cooked. Like- charred! I called immediately (it was 7:23pm) and no one would answer the phone. They closed at 8 today so they just stop serving customers completely apparently. This is not customer service. Was very excited to try this place out because I love hibachi, sadly the food was lacking flavor. I ordered the shrimp with fried rice and a side salad, typically they have a special dressing for the salads but maybe I came on a bad day. They only had balsamic, ranch, and ceaser. Honestly everything just had no flavor, the fried rice was bland just tasted like white rice with soy sauce. The only good part of the meal was the veggies and the onion soup. I don't know why do this girls with a horrible attitude get hired. So I go in, no one to take care of you. I call and it rings for almost 2 minutes straight. She comes out of the bathroom and takes her time to get the phone. Finally gets the phone and the attitude begins. I order a plate and she gave me two options so I took one of those options. Never mentions that is 4 dollars to take those options. At the end of it all I'm paying 23 for noodles and veggies. I canceled the order. I promise that if it was the other lady I would have paid it but this girl just ugh.. read more

I came in and was greeted by the girls working. I was told it was to go orders only. I really wanted to like this place because I've heard great things. Sadly it was not the case. I ordered the steak, shrimp, and chicken. I upgraded to fried rice. They said they would call me in 15mins. They also said next time I could call to phone order. While waiting for my food in my car I decided to order more food. Since I saw one of the girls mopping I thought I'd call to add to my order. Well that didn't work because they never picked up the phone and it took 45mins before they called me. I took my food home which is about 5mins away. My food was cold and all the meat was super dry and tough. I couldn't even chew the steak. Not sure if it was just a bad day for the cook but I won't be back. read more

Thrilled that they opened a location in Upland! We used to order take out or door dash from the Ontario one. Really fair priced teppan with for the portion size! If you want to avoid all the drama of going to Teppanyaki and the wait lol this is THE place to come... I came here after a co-worker recommended it and I was not disappointed. This location is fairly new from my understanding and the original location is located in Ontario. I came after work on a Friday and ordered a couple of dinner entrees for myself and the family... the price came out roughly 80 bucks for three dinner entrees and drinks along with an appetizer - which is fair since I ordered the more expense entree items... The wait was probably close to 30 mins and I just waited inside. You can tell they were busy because they forgot to give me my order, so that was my only feedback... a tiny bit more organization!\ Will be coming back here! read more

Ok. I loved this place. Clean taste that is well seasoned and cooked correctly. We had the Cajun chicken, the chicken and steak, and steak and shrimp. All of it was good. The wait is about 25 minutes after you order but that's the only down side. I will be back. read more

They've been open for about a week. The staff were super friendly and mentioned that they invite phone orders so we wouldn't have to wait for our food in the future since we were taking it to go. Inside was clean but they haven't decorated yet. Clearly they've spent all their time putting together an excellent food and drink menu. I had the hibachi steak and shrimp ($15.99). It was delicious. The steak was prepared to my liking, and we upgraded to fried rice ($1.99). The shrimp was fresh and also lightly seasoned. The mixed vegetables were zucchini, mushrooms, onions and julienned carrots. Very similar flavor profile to Benihana at half the price. Didn't try any of the drinks. That'll be a future visit as I'll definitely be back. read more

This is my first time at this restaurant! And the lady was super nice greeted us and had great customer service! I got a junior shrimp n fried rice. It was really good I'm definitely coming back it was a little pricey but worth it! It fresh and cooked perfectly I added some hibachi sauce to it amazing! I just ordered this for lunch. It was Deeelicious. So flavorful. I ordered the shrimp w/fried rice and the vegggies and it came with your choice of soup or salad. It was so good. I plan on going back for the steak version. The service was excellent. The woman at the counter was so nice. It was a little pricey, but considering the food was fresh and so very good. Tried it for the first time, and while the portions were big and food was fresh, I was left slightly wanting. That yummy unctuous garlicky fried rice we all associate with hibachi just wasn't there. The rice was actually quite bland and only saved by the soy sauce. Despite this, we would definitely return as the proteins we tried (shrimp, chicken, steak) were cooked perfectly and flavorful as were the veggies. Side note- the onion soup was delish. As far as service, the young wait staff could use a little training on prompt service and some basic etiquette, but they were nice enough. Ambience was average for a fast casual finding place but could use a little sprucing up and more detailed cleaning. We will try it again. read more

I'll give this place a 4 even though it's more like a 3 1/2. First, when I read Hibachi and saw the pictures I instantly thought of a fast food Benihana's flavor. Hibachi after all is Japanese grilling. This food has NO Asian flare whatsoever. No garlic flavor, no hint of sesame, nada. It's literally salt and peppered and thrown in the grill flavor. This to me was a huge disappointment as I read "hibachi" and expected Asian flavors. We ordered the steak, shrimp and Cajun chicken combo. I upgraded to fried rice and it tasted like steamed rice with soy sauce. The texture was steamed like it's been sitting in a steamer to keep warm- NOT what you would expect from "fried rice." The sauce they give you is mayonnaise mixed with a little sriracha. That's it. Don't expect any garlicky goodness. Overall it was just okay for me. This is something I can whip up at home on the grill, no complicated flavors added. So that's why for me this is just OKAY. It's pricey for what it is. But give it a try and see for yourself. My husband liked it, but his pallet is easy to impress. I'm a cook at home so my expectations are a bit higher. read more

Tried D Grill for the first time this past Sunday and was very underwhelmed with the food. We ordered: - House Fried Rice w/ Portuguese sausage, spam, eggs - Hibachi combo with yakisoba (steak, shrimp, and chicken) Firstly, the fried rice was over-salted to the point of being almost inedible. The steak/chicken/shrimp were Ok but the yakisoba noodles were super bland. For the money paid, I felt we could've had a superior meal elsewhere. I understand restaurants have off-days, so I'm hoping a second order will be much better. Will update if experience changes. read more

Ehhh. Nothing close to any of the real hibachi places to eat. Just a knock off version. About the same price maybe a dollar less. Everything from the steak chicken fried rice...veggies all tasted the same. The steak is crap steak that's hard to chew on. The soup is just straight trash powder bullion soup. Will not be coming back here again. Update: I first gave it a 2 star...but driving home right now I kept thinking how horrible it was. So I had to change it to a 1 star. read more

This place has become a new favorite of mine. Calling ahead and ordering by phone is my go-to because I'm usually short on time between jobs. The customer service is very friendly and they make a point to show you your food before bagging it up to make sure you're satisfied. I truly enjoy how the hibachi plate comes with a side of soup or salad and I appreciate that each plate comes with a sauce cup as well. The hibachi steak is my favorite and I always order it with fried rice and miso soup. Every time I have picked up my food it is always ready upon my arrival, steaming hot and looks delicious. I'll keep coming back every week! I hope to see more customers inside soon. I haven't had the opportunity to eat inside however I'd like to because they have a great selection of drinks and even beer. I will keep coming back every week! :) read more

Not the same as when it opened. Salad was old, a fraction of the veggies they use to give and they started charging 75 cents for extra sauce. They only fill up the sauce container halfway so there expecting you to buy more. Sorry to say this use to be a gem that is now only Going downhill. read more

Even better with their chili oil, which they also make in house. It's not on the table so make sure to ask for that, it has a complex lemongrass flavor and is divine! They also have another chili oil (the one with the pink cap) that's not made in house but is extremely spicy if you want to amp up the heat.
