    Veal with mashed & veggies
    Alisa W.

Came here for a baby shower & what a tiny cute restaurant right on the Main Street. Appetizers were delicious. We had the stuffed mushrooms (an absolute must try), calamari, mozzarella caprese, & mini baked eggplant rollentini. For lunch I had veal with mashed potatoes, & vegetables in a light Marsala sauce. The veal was pounded down very thin & was very tender. Service was a bit slow but they were hustling to make sure the shower was perfect & we had everything we needed throughout the day.

The ambiance in this restaurant is very traditional and clean. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was very average, but tasty.

    Veal meatball appetizer special

I give it a 3 but could easily be a 4 star with a little help. The chef has a heavy hand in the salt, dial it back a little let the flavors work for you. The fried calamari appetizer were big pieces of calamari that are too chewy. The special veal meatballs were excellent except to much salt. The linguine and clams are very good along with the veal campagnola. The linguine all's scoglio was great except for the salt again would be a great addition to add some toasted bread crumbs on top! The service is great and the people are nice. I will be back again please just fix the heavy hand on the salt.

Small portions. Left this place hungry. Below average restaurant. Would NOT go back!

This is awesome for the ambience but not if you are larger person (I am not but my companion was.) also they only take cash. Now -- that said, step back into an earlier time when you come in here. It's one of the oldest diners in the country -- maybe the oldest? -- and you'll truly feel like you're in a movie. I recommend a weekday morning since it's a touristy thing! I had eggs over easy and sausage. Delicious and timeless. Fun!

The diner is inside a classic boxcar and not much has changed since opening - which is the way it should stay. The service was great and everyone was friendly and accommodating. We arrived around 12 PM on a Sunday and waited about 10 minutes for a table. They don't have high pairs but they have booster seats that worked just as well. We ordered Taylor, ham, egg, and cheese on a roll, two pancakes with scrambled eggs, and the front toast plate that came with eggs and sausage. Taylor ham, egg and cheese on a roll was standard and good. The French toast was tasty. The pancakes were very, very good. Definitely order these! The diner is no-frills. It's classic food served the original way. It really feels like an authentic New Jersey establishment and I love that it hasn't changed.
