Where should I begin? I came to this restaurant with my mom, who lives nearby and has often told me that the roasted duck here is very good and reasonably priced. We decided to drive over and give it a try. When we arrived, the cashier greeted us politely and asked what we would like to order. We requested half of a roasted duck. She acknowledged the order and called over to the chef to prepare it. The chef walked over and selected a duck hanging on the left side. My mom politely asked if we could instead have the half duck hanging on the right side, mainly because it appeared to be a larger portion. Unfortunately, the chef ignored her request as if he hadn't heard it. I then kindly repeated the request and asked if we could have the one on the right instead. At that point, the chef placed the duck he had taken down back onto the rack and proceeded to serve the next customer in line. He then continued assisting additional customers who arrived afterward while completely ignoring us. After waiting for a while without any acknowledgment, my mom became frustrated and said we should just leave and not purchase anything. Once we said that, the chef suddenly became aggressive and started yelling, saying, "Why the f*** would I cut open a whole duck just to give you half?" As we were leaving, I calmly asked him if the duck on the right side was already cut in half, because we were not asking him to cut a new one. He responded with his mask hanging below his nose and said, "Yes, it's cut in half. So what? I don't want to sell it to you." This interaction was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I'm not sure if he is the chef or the owner, but basic respect and communication with customers should always come first. Due to the situation, I decided to take a photo of the individual. When he noticed, he became even more agitated and chased after my mom and me toward our car. For a moment, I genuinely felt concerned about my mom's safety. He followed us to the car and began trying to take photos of us as well. It was shocking to see someone become so aggressive over a simple request regarding half of a roasted duck. Experiences like this make customers feel uncomfortable and unsafe, and it is not something anyone should have to deal with when simply trying to purchase food. Thankfully my mom and I were not hurt. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN even If it is the last roast duck place in San Leandro, I rather drive up to San Francisco than to spend my money here. read more

This place is a hidden gem for their delicious chewy, bouncy steamed rice noodle fun! My favorite choice of proteins are the BBQ Pork and Minced Pork. Good thing about these rice noodle fun is that, you can request to add an egg for extra protein, it is extra cost just heads up. If you don't like eggs, you don't have to add eggs. If you want eggs, you just say, "One order of bbq pork steamed rice noodle fun with egg". This place is really small, but they do have indoor dining that probably only sits 8 people max. Highly recommend ordering to-go. Be prepared to wait at least 10-15 minutes if not busy, since the rice noodle fun is made to order, so it's nice and fresh. While you're waiting, you can shop around at the 88 Manor Market, where you can find a lot of Asian sauces and ingredients ! They are also known for their Roast Duck and Soy Sauce Chicken! Super flavorful and delicious when you bring home a half/full order and eat it over rice and/or any Asian noodles! Cool thing is that, if you spend $30 on their steamed dimsum menu, you get free large cup of hot soy milk for free! I ordered various dim sum items. When I got home and opened the box, one order of the pan fried pork buns were missing. I called and all she said was come back and pick it up now or come by next time. WTH?! That's it?! I do not live near by and would have to be stuck in traffic to get what I ordered in the first place. The roast pork is flavorful and cooked just right. Their clay pot rice and soups are also very authentic. The rice plates are sizable. Expect service to be minimal. Seating inside is limited. Best cha siu (BBQ) around however I had a recent experience in which both thigh pieces of the chicken were purposely not given to me. I bought a whole soy sauce chicken and asked that it be chopped up. I watched the butcher pick the chicken and chop it up. As he chopped the larger pieces, he would flick them towards the metal backstop. He had the backstop turned so the customer couldn't see exactly what he was doing. When I got home, my wife noticed both thigh pieces were not there in the box. I've never seen this particular butcher before. From now on I'll take the chicken whole and chop it myself. I'm Cantonese and for Chinese BBQ tasting, 3 bbq combination is my way to go. My standard is not that high, as long as 1 of them is very good then it makes it. Unfortunately, the stars speak for themselves (I got the duck, soy sauce chicken and roasted pork). I believe some important step is not taken to properly clean the duck before cooking it with a weird smell. The rose wine taste (yes, Cantonese uses rose wine to boost the taste of soy sauce chicken) is too strong and overpowers the spices. Roasted pork was ok till I tasted a few pieces of skin comes a strong unpleasant pork smell. If you plan to go this far (I live in Oakland), HK BBQ kitchen in Castro Valley (a recent discovery) or Cai You Kee near by for sure does a better job. read more

Because I don't speak Chinese, they overcharged me. They sold me one pound of roasted pig for $29.99. Although the menu price was uploaded a year ago, I don't see anything roasted pig price is closed to what I paid today. They don't print the weight, the price per pound, and the total price on the label and stick it to the box like many other Chinese restaurant. The butcher weighted the meat and tell the cashier the weight. The cashier will charge you based on what the butcher said. What would happen if the cashier didn't get the weight correctly. You will end up paying more. They don't hand you the receipt with detail of the transaction. Don't go there unless you speak Chinese. The way they are selling food to me is very shady. In the same plaza as 88 Manor market and Quicklys. Heard about this place from my mama. She got roast duck from them one night, I tried it and thought it was pretty good. Checked them out on Yelp and they had some dimsum items too! Went on a Saturday morning and tried the ha gow, siu mai, sticky rice lotus leaf, beef steamed noodle roll and preserved egg pork porridge. Overall, everything was pretty good. The porridge was thick and creamy and had a nice flavor. I would stay away from the steamed noodle roll, wasn't good. My total came out to $20! Fulfilling breakfast and won't break the bank. They had specials on the wall but it was all in Chinese! Couldn't read it. If only I paid more attention in Chinese school when I was younger lol. Anyway, will return! read more

Update 9/15/19: 3.5 stars I tried the soya pig intestines and stomach. It's pretty good, a bit too salty and sweet at the same time than I personally prefer. The intestines aren't completely intestines. Which to be honest is disappointing, but the intestines on the meat itself melts in your mouth. The price on the board ($4.99) is NOT the price. The person cutting will tell you how much it is. Which is annoying, they should just erase the price on the board or add a + sign next to it to show it may be more hut they're clear about it BEFORE they start cutting which is why it's bringing it down only half a star. When I arrived, two people were ahead of me. They were getting takeout. I took a seat at one of the tables and studied the menu. Here's the thing.... Hard to have good Chinese bbq and good service at the same time. No ambiance. Expect mediocre to bad service. Have LOTS of patience and force yourself to be nice. Then, you might get lucky and get to enjoy so decent to good Chinese bbq. This is not a high end expensive restaurant. This is Chinese bbq comfort food. Duck here is amazing. The dishes are very good, large portions but at times they get busy and service can be slow but they are working hard. This is one of few BBQ places that have BBQ pork chin. Must like fatty cuts. Manor Point is the spot for me when I was craving roasted duck, I get the roasted duck rice plate for a quick lunch or if I had a potluck for work, I would stop by to pick up a whole roasted duck. I had always seen frog legs on their menu, so one day I decided to pick up a quick lunch before work and try it. Even though I called ahead and they told me it will take about 10-15 minutes, there was still an additional 10-15 minutes wait when I arrived. I was patient because things happen and I still had time before work, plus the frog legs will be worth it (so I thought). This is my definition of Chinese diner food. It's nothing special, but it's comforting. It reminds me of what I had growing up. I came for an early lunch and got the wonton noodle soup. Wontons were a little small, but I like the ratio and flavoring of the pork and shrimp filling. It was seasoned perfectly as I don't like salty wontons. The egg noodles were also chewy and cooked perfectly! The steamed rice with chicken and mushroom was a disappointment for me. The chicken was chopped up into smaller pieces but it was mostly bones and fatty pieces. The mushrooms were alright, but nothing memorable. I would not recommend this. I was so happy to discover a Chinese BBQ/to-go dim sum place in the same vicinity as one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants, but because of language barrier it was so hard to shop at this Chinese BBQ joint whose staff spoke very little English. We wanted to get 2 pounds of BBQ pork and half a pound of roast pork. However, apparently there were 3 different kinds of roast pork, and it seemed to me certain kinds were not available for half-pound orders, but it was hard to understand them as the staff unfortunately was not able to articulate the difference between those 3 kinds. And we had wanted to just go with whatever kind available for half-pound orders, but she was still not understanding us, and the conversation had gone far longer than it should've been, so we decided to just cancel our roast pork order, which was unfortunate because I really wanted it. But we were able to get our BBQ pork, and it was pretty good. The only thing that I did not like about their BBQ pork was that after they cut the pork they poured in a sauce directly into our takeout container, which was weird to me. It made me wonder if they relied on the sauce to make the pork juicy, rather than relying on their method of cooking itself. And the sauce spilled all over the bag that we put the container in, so I wish they had provided a small 2-oz plastic container for the sauce.
