Just got ff the phone with Da Giorgios. Two weeks ago I made a reservation for 6 for this evening New Years Eve. Unfortunately 2 in our party became ill yesterday and are not feeling any better today . I did the courtesy of calling to let them know as soon as it was clear they would not be coming that we would be 2 instead of 6 ( mother and daughter sick and significant others not wanting to leave them) Well they informed me that they had no 2 tops and would not sit me at a larger table because they would lose money and it's not his fault that they got sick ! So I do the right thing by them and let them know and I now have no reservations for tonight with slim prospects of getting any. Way to go Da Giorgios - your food maybe good but once the almighty dollar becomes more important then all else it shows and you will lose customers just lost 6 and anyone else I can convince. Did not want you to lose money that's why I called but I am sure there was a way you could have accommodated us and filled the empty seats. I can't say enough about how great the food is in this restaurant. I have eaten here well over 15 times over the past year and find the quality consistently high across the menu. For the quality the prices are low. The staff is wonderful and certainly friendly. We have tried most of the appetizers and entres on the regular menu as well as a good share of the specials. I have developed a good deal of trust that when I try a new special that sounds good - it will be good. The chef really knows his fish and seafood. It is shocking that neither my wife nor I have a had a bad or even indifferent meal after all these visits. We are almost always given a generous enough portion that we have leftovers to take it home and taste again for lunch. This is often a very enjoyable lunch. Too good to be true? read more

Wanted a place to go after picking daughter from Lga. Unfortunately my daughter wasn't feeling well from travel being over tired etc so we took our order to go. I couldn't resist to try my Tagliolini portofino when I got home and it was great. Prior deciding to leave. Waiter knew we were hungry and brought second helping of hot tools along with a eggplant antipasto. I was pleased with service and food. Da Giorgio is one of my favorite restaurants in Westchester County. The atmosphere is cozy and the staff is extremely friendly and polite. Most importantly though, the food is out of this world. From the Rigatoni da Giorgio and chicken scarpariello to the wild boar lasagna and the fried calamari salad with sliced bananas. There is no better in the area. I highly recommend you make a reservation on Friday and Saturday nights. read more

WOW, A HIDDEN GEM !!! My girlfriend and I came here for dinner last week and absolutely loved it. Small intimate location, Very nice menu BUT listen to the specials that was the best part! Appetizers- we started with 2 of the specials grilled octopus and a stuffed seafood clam/shell- the octopus was AMAZING just enough for the both of us, NOT fishy and had a nice smoked grill taste, The stuffed shell was big ! there were 2 and it was stuffed with octopus,clams,shrimp dont remember what else but it was cooked like a bake clam and boy was it nothing less delicious. Entree- I had the Lobster Lasagna in a pink sauce which was a special as well. top was crusted and i ate almost the entire thing. Not fishy and wasnt made like a traditional lasagna it was rounded; anyway it was great !! My gf had the Soft shell crab which was to die for ! it was fired and great! not to salty cooked perfectly We ended our evening with a tiramisu dessert, sometimes people make these and the espresso taste over powers it BUT NOT DA GIORGIO ! it was outstanding-- the ONLY thing i could possibly complain about was the ticket times on our food, a little bit of a wait but ALL worth it ! will definitely be coming back.. a lot read more

I have been going to this wonderful restaurant since it opened 5 years ago...it just gets better every time I go. Just visited again last night and it was a perfect evening. Reservations are necessary. You don't really need a menu, the specials of the day are amazing and you have a difficult time selecting what you want to eat! This was my 1st visit to this over-hyped eatery. Yes, the food is good. I had the fried calamari salad with bananas as my appetizer and my two guests had equally fresh appetizers. The biggest problem with the restaurant, well... the two biggest problems with the restaurant are not the food... one is the noise level, the other is MUCH worse (read below). Don't think about having a quiet conversation over dinner. It is so narrow and with the decorative tin ceilings, the sound rebounds over and over again to the point that you need to run to the bathroom just to hear yourself think. Doesn't work though. The noise level carries through the thin walls. As of this morning, I still have a headache. Second, and as advertised, MUCH worse, is the service. I have NEVER had such poor service in over 20 years eating in Westchester restaurants. One of my two guests was starving and ordered two entrees (rather than an appetizer and an entree). When they served our appetizers, both his meals came out at once. Thirty minutes later, we asked the waiter where our dinners were... and he said "oh... in a few minutes". 15 minutes later we asked the waiter and the Maitre De again, and they said "shortly". 5 minutes later, when we asked him if they had forgotten our 2 orders of the fish of the day --- they deflected the question again. When I said, all I want is such an acknowledgement, and perhaps an apology... and nope.... never. 10 more minutes later, as our water glasses got less and less refilled, the fish finally came... a bit overcooked! No questions about how we like the fish, no nothing... (maybe if they leave us alone... just maybe... we might forget) We ate quickly, having spent an hour longer than we had hoped to, and when they finally asked us if we wanted dessert, coffee, etc.... no apology... no offer of a free cup of java on them... nothing... Just a $175 bill for the 3 of us. They did get this write up.... GOOD JOB! By the way... how is this only given two $$ when it should be $$$$? Go figure... maybe too many friends are writing this up who get served on a timely manner, and are treated with respect. By the way... this is my last visit to this eatery. Buyer beware. read more

came highly recommended by 2 friends. food was good. not incredible, but good. portion sizes were big. people were friendly. service was ATROCIOUS! maitre d said they were short-handed that night but it was embarassingly bad. we had to remind the waiter several times for everything. we were a party of 8 that couldn't be missed and were almost ignored by the waiter. forgot to bring my wine. reminded him. waited. caught his eye several times. waited. forgot to bring us menus. wine list. forgot to ask for my order. twice. we were probably at the restaurant for an extra hour because of their ineptness. nice guys though. and it doesn't seem to be hurting their business, they were pretty full for a thursday night in northern new rochelle. read more

Went here on a date as a recommendation from a co-worker. Service was great, atmosphere was great, and the food is spectacular. They have this provolone stuffed meatball appetizer that is pretty damn incredible. This is also a 35 minute drive for me, but totally worth it and I can't wait to go back! read more

This place was amazing! Fabulous food from start to finish. Caesar salad to die for and I'm not even a huge Caesar salad person. Mussels the best I ever had. The little bread knots are warm and soft and slight hint of sea salt. Great alone or with the incredible eggplant spread they serve with it. My chicken parmigiana was the best I've ever had and I've tried it everywhere. Thin slices of chicken and a slightly creamy tomato sauce. Cheese melted on top was yummy! Came with side of penne with same sauce. I was ready to lick my plate! Cannoli for dessert was good too, not best I've ever had but up there. Had other desserts I'm looking forward to trying. This place is a hidden gem in a strip mall but lovely and small and loud inside. The service was not great. Average at best. Other waiters looked much more interested in helping us than our waiter. I asked them to sing to my fiancé for his birthday and behind my fiance's back he brought out the cannoli with candle and mouthed that he wouldn't sing. Major bummer just on principle of it.
