Yes! This is the one!! The best so far! There seems to be a Hawaiian BBQ or poke joint on every block around here. Most have their good points but each has failures. Those of us who have transplanted to the Ninth Island are longing for the comforting tastes of Hawaii. 'Opulicious' is the best one that my wife and I have encountered so far in the LV area. Authenticity: 1. Lomi Lomi Salmon. None of the others have this. Perhaps they are not the only one, but, it's the first that we have found. The other Hawaiian joints are missing in action. 2. Oahu style poke. Yeah there is 'poke' all over the world now. But not Oahu style. 'Toppings, sauces, guacamole, croutons, etc. are not a part of authentic poke. Poke: We ordered a salmon poke bowl. First 2 scoops of rice. Salmon chunks, limu dried seaweed, and that is it. Of course, other preparations are possible and you get to choose. The poke bowl contains 1/2 pound of raw fish. It is a big bowl. We ate it as an appetizer for our plate lunches. Delicious and it filled us up. Hawaiian plate: That is what they are called. 2 scoops of white rice that sticks together. 1 small cup of macaroni salad. And one small cup of the delicious lomi lomi salmon for the Hawaiian plate. The plate also had kalua pork, squid luau, and chicken long rice. Ono. This is the real deal! We both loved it. Beef Stew: This is Hawaiian Beef Stew where the meat and carrot and potato is cooked till tenderness. This was perfect. Perfect rice. Explanations: Poke is fresh raw fish cut in 1/2 to 3/4 in chunks. It is marinated in shoyu, garlic, seaweed, and others, and sold by the pound. It is eaten as bought or can be added to a base of rice. Thus, the poke bowl. You can find it presented this way at 'Opulicious'. Don't add any other crap to it. "Plate Lunch" is the term for a meal sold at a Hawaiian take out place. 2 scoops of white rice and one scoop of mac salad. Large portions are expected. One plate lunch should serve two or at least two meals. The rice must be correct. It must stick together and the entire plate eaten with chopsticks. " Lomi Lomi salmon is like pico de gallo with salted dried salmon added. About 1/4 in chunks. Hawaiian food without lomi lomi, especially lau lau and kalua pork, is like a taco without salsa. The saltiness from the dried salmon offers a unique taste and counter balance to the pork and other items. "Opu" means 'belly' in Hawaiian. So it's a play on words and a signal sent towards those who know. LOMI LOMI Salmon, Again: So now I have researched Hawaiian Restaurants that serve lomi lomi with lau lau, and kalua pork. I only found 3 and Opulicious is one of them. The other highly publicized places do not. That is a major fail! They have some explaining to do. There is no excuse IMHO. Lomi lomi is a must. Opulicious Poke & Plate Lunch is the perfect reminder that there's no place like home. From the moment you walk in, the staff is friendly and welcoming. It feels like walking into your favorite hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Hawai'i. For someone who misses white sandy beaches - it's one of the best feelings. I've tried a variety of dishes here before writing this review. I've had a few favorites & a few I could look over in the future. Here's a quick breakdown: Opulicious Special - this plate right here is the reason I first visited. On Sunday's, Opulicious serves up Samoan food. The options in Vegas for Samoan food are limited so this is definitely one I could appreciate. The plate is $20 but it's packed with enough to last 3 meals. Don't expect the same flavors you would get at a family party, but it'll satisfy the craving for sure. Squid Luau - I was pretty let down on this one. I ordered an 8 oz container & could probably count the pieces of squid on one hand. The flavor was okay but the squid was lacking. Poi - winner! I'm always happy when I can find poi that is not sour or watered down. I've ordered it twice & was not let down so far. Pastele Stew - much better than a lot of places. I'm biased because my cousin makes my favorite pastele stew...but for an option outside of my family cooking, this was good. Limu Ahi Poke - probably my favorite poke here! Spicy Ahi Poke - Not my favorite but not bad. Everyone seems to make their spicy ahi differently and I've had better. For the most part, I have enjoyed the food at Opulicious Poke. I was in the area going from one appointment to the next, hungry and craving Some good poke. I looked up poke laces on Yelp opolicious having great reviews I headed there; the place is on a nice shopping center their sign faces one side of the building but the actual entrance to their restaurant is around the corner you could miss it because where their sign is looks totally empty. Anyway I found it! went in definitely totally Hawaiian decor, staff super nice they give you samples. You can build your own or get one of their signature bowls. If you are not into poke there are other selections. Servings are plentiful, absolutely delicious! Got so excited that forgot to take a picture! This review is long overdue. We've been going to Opulicious consistently for about 2 years. They are ALWAYS on point with their food, and especially their poke. Best poke in Vegas hands down. I'm willing to argue that lol. Their fish quality is always great, which is high compliment out here in the desert. Today for their poke, we had spicy salmon, spicy ahi & shout ahi. All fire as always. And for their regular menu, I had their garlic salmon belly, let me tell you, this is a MUST! Was so tender, sauce was amazing. I can see some people not liking too much sauce. Go north around the sign to find the entrance, don't get misled by the empty building! Finally got to try this place after a buddy told me about it. Steak and mushroom was bomb, they put the steak, onions, mushroom and sauce over a bed of rice letting it soak in all the goodness, not many photos of it so I had to write a review to let people know! Service was great and ambiance was perfect. Unfortunately I went on a late lunch and most of their poke was gone! Just ate here today for the first time. The dining area itself is small, but we were able to find a table for 4 of us. Had music and tvs going, felt comfortable and relaxed. Holyyyyy smokes, they threw down in the kitchen! Had 2 of the family business owners cooking during a quick lunch rush and the food was pau fast without missing out on the flavors. My family and I had the garlic chicken, pastele stew, laulau and spam musubis. Everything was opulicious Fr- I'm surprised wasn't one line out the door. My favorite had to be the laulau, can tell was steamed good and good fat to meat (no dry pork yessuh), lomi was fresh and salted well. Was just passing through and saw this spot. Haven't on this side of town in a while, so I noticed this was new since the last time I was around here. First off, the staff was very nice and welcoming. Even though they ran out of my salmon belly lol I will say their food is so delicious! I'm definitely coming back soon for the Salmon belly. I just have to try it out! The girls ordered the garlic chicken, spicy mayo poke and Kahlua pig. Although I don't eat meat... damn that garlic chicken was so tempting!! That poke tho?? Mouth watering! Good small local joint here in the 9th Island. A lot has been popping up over the years with more and more hawaii residents moving. Any way today was a beef stew kinda if day since it's kinda cold and snowy on the outskirts. Beef stew was good, meat was tender and amou too meat and veggies was good. Could have a bit more flavor to the stew imo. Little more richness or something, it just missing that missing piece lol Garlic ahi poke was good, little on the sweeter side but still like the fish quality. I really wanted to like this place. They seem to be a local spot and the lady who assisted me today was so nice and helpful. I was so pleased with the exceptional customer service. I was there 17 mins before they close but they didn't make me feel rushed at all. Solid 10 when it comes to service. The location was clean and small. When I got home, I was so excited to try the food. The spicy salmon poke was good but the serving was small. The Lau Lau was okay. The imitation crab poke was so bad! I had to throw it away. It felt like it was frozen then thawed out then back to frozen and thawed out again. It did not taste right and it was tough and very rubbery. Hope this was an isolated incident. Opulicious Poke & Plate Lunch is family oriented Hawaiian restaurant located in the South/Southeast side of Las Vegas. The restaurant has a comfortable dimly lit interior and boasts a homey casual vibe. I, unfortunately, have to say the food quality and taste were just okay. And the portion size was a bit lacking compared to the other Hawaiian based restaurants in Las Vegas. We ordered the Beef Stew, Teri Chicken, Squid Luau, two poke bowls (tuna and salmon), with a side of Mac Salad. I however will say the service was top-notch, with the staff being super friendly and allowing us to sample the pokes. The restaurant definitely has a casual comfortable vibe to it, and if you're looking for a quick lunch or pickup/takeout this is a safe choice. Overall, I did think the restaurant's food quality and taste were just okay (again comparing to other Hawaiian restaurants I have been to in Las Vegas), and the portion size was a bit lacking for the price you pay. This is my favorite poke place on the mainland. Best poke in the mainland. My husband and I have visited Honolulu, and this place reminds me of the poke we had there. We live in California, and the poke places definitely don't taste anything like Opulicious! The fish here is very fresh. My husband was the one who found this place, he knows I love spicy food and poke. The poke here is spicy, but it's a mild kick. My husband doesn't love spicy food, but he can handle the mild spice here too. This was one of my favorite meals in Vegas, The prices here are also very reasonable and the staff here are so nice! When in Vegas this is always one of our go to spot for Hawaiian food. Being away from the islands makes you crave all those foods you grew up with so check it out. I usually get the garlic chicken, which is good if you are looking for more of a savory and sweet flavor. This time around I tried their Aloha Poke Bowl. It came with Rice, Pork Lau Lau, Lomi Salmon and your choice of Poke (I chose Spicy mayo). I love the fact that they give lomi salmon because not all places have this, which is a plus for me. Fish was fresh and the sauces really hit the spot while I was waiting for my flight. So this place is a hidden gem in the old Bachi Burger spot: was scouting for a place to eat over here running errands and saw "poke" and was sold. Initially it doesn't look like much from the outside, but you walk in to a chill Hawaiian vibe playing reggae and a warm relaxing environment. I had never been here, so who I think was the manager ran me through a few different options and explained the different bowls/pokes/sauces. She was really patient when I asked a few more questions, then brought me my food very quickly despite it being lunch time on a Friday. Even as I'm typing this, the manager is walking a different customer through the different available sodas at their fridge and explaining them. She's a sweetheart. The food was great, traditional poke is pretty hard to mess up but it was a great portion for the price (I'm an AYCE sushi guy so..) and delicious to boot. Decent food, I think it was overhyped when our friend described it and we were expecting more. Claudia was very patient and friendly; she helped us understand the menu and didn't rush us at all. The cashier Aiesha (please forgive me if I misspelled your name), was very friendly and even though she just finished taking several huge orders from other guests that brought family. I can't say enough about the service and attention we received here. From the poke counter to the ordering window, the aloha we felt was genuine. The young lady with great patience, eagerly gave us a sample of each poke mixture since it was our first time there. She was eager to accommodate without sounding scripted or phony. The nice gentleman at the hot foods section went above and beyond in explaining their dishes and how to get a better deal through combinations and side orders. Every dish we ordered was delicious and delighted us beyond our expectations. I did notice the rice was wetter than we're used to or normally have elsewhere.
