Nothing beats Mulberry street in the winter, with Christmas signs lining the streets of Little Italy, snow flurries fluttering down on the streets and warm, open-fire pizza ovens beckoning you inside. Da Nico strategically places two pizza-ovens facing the doorway, luring in customers. Oddly enough, the "bar" in front of the ovens is purely for food and drink prep, and there are no barstools or drinks served there. Coming on a Saturday night, the host graciously granted a last second table with no reservation, and it could not have been a better experience. From the waiter to food, each segment of dinner embodied the Italian restaurant stereotype and offered a delicious classic-Italian experience. Special request to have the egg yolk uncracked on the Carbonara was graciously granted by the chef, although would recommend slightly less pepper as it was overpowering even certain bites with ham.

My family and I decided to dine at Da Nico Ristorante for lunch a few weeks ago after a brief stroll through Little Italy. We usually have a go-to spot that we dine in, but decided to try some place different. We came in on a weekday in the early afternoon and there were several other diners inside also enjoying a meal. The food at Da Nico Ristorante did not disappoint, which makes total sense why there were so many other people having lunch at this spot in the middle of the week as well! We ordered several items and everything we tried was tasty. Our order consisted of the - Linguine with Clams - Veal Parmigiana - Eggplant Parmigiana - Pizza Miele - zeppole (on the house) Food was fresh and good quality. The Pizza Miele was surprisingly the showstopper for me! Loved the combination of the hot sopressata and honey. Pricing was fair for all of the dishes and definitely justified the product. Our server was professional and friendly. Service overall was a little slow during our meal, but I think it may have been because our waiter was by himself (with support from the bus staff). As a result, our lunch ended up being stretched a little longer than desired. Overall, we had a good first visit to Da Nico Ristorante and would definitely return again in the future the next time we're in Little Italy.

took my parents and other relatives (all seniors) to Da Nico in Little Italy on a busy Saturday fall night. Did not have a reservation but since it was early (6pm) was able to get a table inside. The tables outside are smaller and all filled since it was nice out. Pricing is fair. Big menu and there are "specials". Service was good enough and as folks were attentive and water glasses were filled regularly. Food was hit or miss depending on the items. Spaghetti and meatballs and the Fried Calamari was the best. The clams with white sauce and linguine was a big salty. The rigatoni vodka was a bit bland. The veal chop special was good but expensive $72. Pizza was OK no undercarriage. Big free plate of zeppoles is a plus. Would go back despite all the heavy competition as Da Nico is consistent over the years. Note bill is cheaper in cash

My ONLY go to when I'm in lil Italy. Service starts once I walk in the door, always greeted and seated properly. Love the vibes in there lunch or dinner time. The hot antipasto is tasty and the variety in the dish is good. I always tend to order the same chicken parm with rigatoni but make it vodka sauce, 5 stars cause a lot of other restaurants don't make it like this or even want to cater to both chicken n rigatoni having vodka sauce.

Food was ok, a tad too overpriced and my server, who was a bartender was simply not helpful nor kind. Wouldn't come back.

This restaurant blew me away! My family and I shared the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken, Chicken Parmesan, and lasagna everything was so delicious I forgot to take pictures! The sangria was perfectly balanced and paired so well with the rich, fresh flavors of the food. We were even welcomed with complimentary zeppoles topped with powdered sugar and freshly baked bread at the start of our dinner . Great service, quick food for a party of 5, and such a cozy atmosphere with dim lights and ambient music. Perfect for both family dinners and date nights. We'll absolutely be back!

I have usually found that the restaurants in Little Italy at least maintain some semblance of normalcy in their Italian dishes ( aka at least try to maintain them not Americanized). However, though I had great expectations for Da Nico, I found that their dishes were more similar to Olive Garden than to an authentic Italian cuisine. And don't get me started on the price. Paying $50 per person for a piece of bruschetta with burrata and seafood pasta is preposterous. I've been to Michelin star restaurants in Italy that charged me less than this. Anyway, long story short, se sei italiano e vuoi assaggiare piatti preparati da italiani doc, meglio cucinarseli da soli a casa propria.

Da Nico is a classic Italian American restaurant in Little Italy that my coworkers introduced me to last year. Although I would not recommend getting Italian food in this area in general because of the tourist trap factors, I do think Da Nico is one of the best ones. The service has always been great and you definitely get a lot out of your experience if you've got that real New York attitude about you (or if you appreciate receiving it). Da Nico is also a favorite of some of the Soprano actors and I actually got to meet Bobby Bacala one time which was amazing. For food, I always get the baked clams and the chicken Parm. During the San Genaro feast I also like to come here and grab a table outside so I can watch the parade and people watch.

Came here for dinner after seeing the "Sopranos" sign--I'm a big fan of the series, so it caught my attention. We were warmly greeted by the hostess upon arrival, but unfortunately, the rest of the waitstaff seemed indifferent, almost like our presence was an inconvenience. We ordered the Caprese and the minestrone to start, followed by the chicken parmigiana and shrimp scampi over linguine. Both entrées were delicious, although the server went a bit overboard with the cheese on the parm. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, but the experience would have been much better if the service staff were more attentive and personable. Sadly, I wouldn't return based on the service alone.

One of the Better Spots in Little Italy, Solid Pasta, Classic Vibes. In a neighborhood packed with Italian restaurants that all start to blur together, this spot actually stands out.. at least a little. It's definitely one of the better choices in Little Italy. The atmosphere has that charming, old-school feel without being too touristy. Service was friendly and efficient, and the whole experience felt relaxed and enjoyable. As for the food: the pasta was good. Nothing groundbreaking or wildly inventive, but it was fresh, well-cooked, and satisfying. The kind of meal that hits the spot without necessarily leaving a lasting impression. You won't be talking about it for weeks, but you also won't be disappointed. If you're strolling through Little Italy and want a solid, no-fuss Italian dinner, this place is worth stopping by. Just don't expect a life-changing culinary experience - it's more comfort than wow.

Every dish was outstanding -- full of flavor and beautifully presented. The service and atmosphere were both excellent. We were a little disappointed that the patio was closed, but everything else more than made up for it. Can't wait to come back!

I've been here several times before, but most recently during the San Gennaro festival. It was busy but they had an outdoor seating area that was nice. Service was pretty good despite the chaos too. They forgot to bring bread to the table and made one meal wrong so there was an odd gap when entrees came out, however the food and drinks were good once received. Pricing was likely a bit increased with the festival, but wasn't too outrageous.

    Is my it quiet?

It's pretty quiet, we sat towards the back of the restaurant and there was only a few other tables sat around us. We did go on a Friday afternoon, hope this helps!

Do they offer pizza by the slice?

Pizza by the slice? No, certainly no knowledge of that, but as a prelude to a meal, we were presented gratis a small pizza topped by bruschetta, quite decicious and my friend always took half of it home. Don't know if they do that for everyone, no…

What time do they start serving the dinner menu?

Lunch is 12-3, so after 3!

Do they require a vaccination card as of April 27, 2022?

    No, they do not

This was one of the best restaurant chicken dishes I have ever had. It was perfectly moist, incredibly well seasoned, and felt like a thoughtfully composed dish rather than just a piece of chicken on a plate. Even the white meat was tender, and the skin was fantastic. The service was excellent throughout the meal. WOW SO DELICIOUS!! hack to get a res is going for lunch lol…read more this meal was so yummy!! the perciatelli nero was bright, citrusy, and had an aftertaste of spicy (from the pepper i assume). the crab pieces were generous and buttery and the pasta seemed to be homemade and cooked al dente. very light and refreshing and the sauce was addicting. i think this pasta paired perfectly with the burger. definitely a heavier, decadent dish, but also surprisingly not too salty. the meat itself was fine but i thought the bun was so good especially since the bottom bun kinda absorbed the meat and cheese juice and the top bun stayed crispy and soft. potatoes on the side were fine. tbh i think this is the best meal ive had at an italian restaurant. and they gave us free gelato for my friend's birthday!!! great service, lots of seating (altho the tables were kinda sat pretty close together) and honestly a great place to catch up over a yummy meal.
