There was a small private party happening and I see they have a karaoke stage set up going on. But I think it's open to everyone because not just the private party were up singing a song. We ordered Lechon kawali, pinakbet, Kare Kare, steamed fish, and steamed rice. It took a bit of a while to get our order. But we got it eventually. The kawali seemed a bit overcooked. There was pieces of hard/dry lechon. The pinakbet was okay. Their Kare Kare is served unmixed. They top the cooked veggies on top the peanut butter sauced meat. The portion of the dish itself was a bit sparse. The steamed fish was okay as well. We also had ourselves halo halo. Which pretty much was probably the favorite of all we ordered. Coming back here is inevitable because of a band member tonight! I am glad I was forced to go... they might have a new chef! Everything we had was good... pancit habhab was tasty, tokwa't baboy was good- pork was crunchy and tokwa was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, okoy was delicious and crunchy too, like how it is really supposed to be. We also had bangus sisig, goat dish and goat was not gamey. We also had lumpiang shanghai and sisig nachos, and I could nit complain. I've been wanting to get some Filipino food since my go to restaurant closed down. So glad we stumbled upon this gem. We went here after church on Sunday and chose dinuguan, ukoy, and a couple of topsilog plates. The food was delicious, hot and savory. It definitely satisfied my cravings and more. Geo our host and server was warm, and friendly and made our experience there great. This place offered large portion sizes as it's supposed to be shared family style with friends and family so my face was in aw when our food came out. We've been wanting to check this Filipino bistro out but their reviews are not good, so we have been waiting for it to get better. Anyway, we got tired of waiting and thought we would give them a try anyways despite bad reviews. I mean some gave them good reviews. We decided to try getting "TO GO" first. We went on a weekday dinner time, and it seems no customers when picking up our food. Although, I saw an empty table that seems like customers have just left since the table wasn't cleared up yet. I came in and attendant and two other staff were just sitting instead of clearing the dirty table which I thought was kinda weird. The place look familiar since the set-up was similar to Bamboo Steamer. I wanted calamari but they were out of calamari. A plus for calling us back to say they're out of calamari. We ended up getting crispy pata, bagoong rice, sisig and Bicol express. We really liked the Bicol Express because of the strong ginger taste and the right amount of spice. The Crispy Pata was crispy and the meat inside was tender. I was impressed the meat was kinda falling off the bone. Sisig was a little too oily and too much pork skin. Bagoong rice was just okay. At least they had it with all the news that bagoong is getting ban for awhile. Overall, not bad . Pros: The adobo pork ribs, garlic fried rice, and pork lumpia were delicious! The pancit malabon was alright, but the beer was good. Dabarkadz Filipino Bistro opens where Bamboo Steamer was. Same seating arrangement. Same decor. Only change is the menu and a Grand Opening sign at entrance. Quickly seated upon entering in the bigger of 2 cavernous rooms. Food came within 10 minutes. Offerings: goat, beef, desserts, fish, chicken, pork, appetizers, dim sim, rice, noodles, vegetables, soups, bar drinks... Bites: crispy pata( fried pig feet, 21.95) -came with a steak knife, needed it to cut into the "tuff" outer fried texture. Appears to have been double fried. -inside meat moist, semi-tender, not juicy. -accompanying spoon helpful in pouring "dipping" sauce of soy & vinegar over crispy pata. Easier to chew meat off the feet than cutting the meat off the feet. *tasty, enjoyable.. not as much as Kalesa's... Dessert: ube mango mochi turon (6/8.95) -unlike traditional turon made with banana, this is ube, mango, & mochi filled. Unlike a shanghai lumpia, the ends are open, not closed. -slightly sweet, smooth tasty, this was an hit, cutting down the greasiness of the pata. 4.5 stars uneven quality of food. Gave them a couple of tries. First try was within their 1st month of opening which can be a roller coaster of a ride for both business and trying customers. That order was for take-out as I just wanted to get a glimpse of their food without any drama/mishaps from table service, which in opening periods are inevitable. Second outing was about a year after opening and sat down for a meal, here are some notes. Shrimp Lumpia ($10/4*) Think I originally called in for basic Lumpia Shanghai as it is a good thing to try when you first try a Filipino resto. Opening month, they were out, but suggested this instead. Actually kinda close to what I wanted except this had a whole shrimp running through the whole roll. I think there was a thin layer of ground meat/pork. I'd get this again for sure. Tokwat Baboy ($10/3.5*) Pretty much fried firm tofu cubes with fried pork belly cubes (lechon kawali). Not sure how the in-house version is but here there is a soy-vinegar sauce on the side. Not sure if it is to be mixed in or dipped. We just dipped it in. Kinda basic. Crab Fried Rice ($14/4*) I think I got more crab flavor than I did chunks of crab, but I also was kinda expecting that. Good flavor and quite rich, think there is a good dose of butter in there. Red Horse Beer ($8ish/4*) They were out of San Miguel Pils so they subbed this. This is more malty and rich, which I like. Went well with the food actually. Sizzling Bulalo ($20/3*) Weird dish and curiosity got the best of me. You see Bulalo is a boiled beef dish, much like Pot Au Feu (French) or Caldo de Res (Mexican). It is extremely homey and comforting (for me). But the 'sizzling' part intrigued me but didn't really do anything for me in real time. LIke to put something boiled and tender onto a sizzing hot iron, just kinda contradicts each other in real life. Sure it is dramatic as it comes out super sizzling and steaming. But all that sizzling does nothing for the tender beef shanks as nothing will be able to sear or get brown because everything is already boiled til super tender. Meat was super soft but also crazy bland. Nothing on the table either to season it, so I just took most of it home so I could add something to it later. Pinakbet ($16/4*) Usually like this dish as it has green beans, egg plant, okra, bittermelon and kabocha squash chunks all stewed in a garlic-y shrimp paste sauce. There's also some chunks of lechon kawali, where some other versions may use shrimp. Very hearty and I often use this for it's vegetative content. Great with white rice. And in that sitdown visit on a quiet Sunday early evening there was karaoke-ing going on, which almost made me turn back around but we gave it a go. Sometimes it just gets too loud for a simple dinner outing but this time proved quite entertaining. Damn can Filipinos sing! Lol. We even sat for a good 20 minutes after dinner cuz the entertainment was so fun. Maybe about 4 different families were in there (some 6 or more) and everyone took turns singing. Some older senior aged peeps, some younger/teenaged peeps all went up there and gave their shots. And out of maybe a dozen songs we heard, maybe only 2 were so-so/off key/off volume. The rest sounded just as good as the original from Lionel Ritchie ballads to the Police's 'Every Breath You Take' by a Lola/grandma to friggin' country music. It was pretty amazing! LENT 2025: SECOND FRIDAY When I really started to discipline myself of eating fish on Fridays during Lent I would go to other ethnic restaurants. Growing up in a Filipino Catholic household I hated eating fish on Fridays during Lent because the fish I had was either tilapia or a non-deboned bangus. In addition the dishes weren't tasty. Eating the bony bangus almost made me stop eating fish. This year I decided to go eat Filipino eateries on Fridays for Lent to test my faith if there are any good fish or seafood dishes at these eateries. I ate here the first time in December for my second cousin's birthday. She choose this place because she loves karaoke. The dishes ordered were adobo pork ribs, sinigang, lechon kawali, ube mango mochi turo, and laing, which I never had before. The laing had a strong taste that I'm not used to. The adobo pork ribs looked oily but the taste wasn't. The fat on the lechon kawali wasn't too fatty to be inedible to eat. The test was really sinigang, which is my favorite food of all time. The sinigang at Dabarkadz was delicious. I finished dinner with the ube mango turo. This dish looks similar to a turon, which is banana wrapped in a spring roll and deep fried. I don't like turon because it can be tarty and sweet. The ube mango turo isn't as heavy. Also this dessert wasn't overly sweet. Before coming to Dabarkadz Filipino Bistro I noticed the bad reviews, but I thought this place was satisfactory. Even though I thought this place was ok I wasn't planning to come back here again soon. For Lent on Fridays I needed to find a seafood fish. At Dabarkadz there was an item that intrigued me - crab butter fried rice. I don't know what the dish looks look. When I think of crab butter I think of the inside guts of a hot, steamed Dungeness crab. I'm thinking the inside of the crab is spread around the fried rice. When I came in last Friday I didn't ask my server about the crab butter fried rice as I want the dish to "describe" itself. For appetizer I ordered the ukoy, which is a shrimp and vegetables fritter. So when I got the crab butter fried rice my initial reaction was "Where's the crab?". When I tasted the fried rice I couldn't taste the crab. The only crab butter I could think off was the teaspoon portion on top of the rice. Overall the crab butter fried rice taste like garlic fried rice. The ukoy was the tastier dish of the two I ordered that day. The shrimp portions were skimpy because there appeared to be only one shrimp per fritter. I have mixed feelings about Dabarkadz Filipino Bistro. None of the dishes I ate during my two dining experiences tasted terrible yet most of the dishes didn't stand out. read more

Came here last Friday for dinner. We made it for the live band. The band was pretty good. All the tables were full. I noticed there were people waiting. We sat down with the menu. They came back to us a couple minutes later to take our order. It took 25 minutes for our food to come out. We were thinking our appetizers would come out before the pancit. The ukoy was good. We really liked the shrimp egg rolls. The pancit was good but they put to much black pepper in it. The fried calamari could have been better. Sisig nachos had a lot of meat in it but the chips were stale. We also ordered halo halo which was good. Lumpia Shanghai was okay. The best part of this place was entertainment, the staff and location. It has plenty of parking. I heard on other days they have karaoke. Staff was super friendly. The food was ok. My husband and I decided to check out Dabarkadz as some of our friends had mentioned this place because they have live band performing on certain nights. We had dinner and ordered the Binagoonan Pork Belly and Garlic Fried Rice. The food was pretty good. Service was pretty quick and our server was attentive and came around a couple times to make sure we were okay or if we needed anything. Dabarkadz means "group of friends" or just simply "buddies" and the new spot is perfect for getting together. Arrived during their soft opening week (slowly, offering dine-in) with buddy, Hazel and quickly greeted and welcomed. The General Manager, Jonas mentioned they're still training staff which was perfectly fine with us! Place wasn't busy so a good time. Given paper menus and told the UKOY was their specialty: chopped shrimp and (thinly shredded) vegetable fritter. Very light and not heavily battered with a garlic-vinegar based sauce. - yummy Other items: :: PANCIT BIHON - rice noodles, chopped cabbage, carrots and green beans with pieces of crispy lechon. Flavoring (soy sauce based) was perfect for me and delicious. :: CRISPY PATA - whole pork leg brined, braised and deep fried until crisp - I've only had it twice before and was dry, tough, or chewy! To be honest thought that's how it was cooked! Dabarkadz does a perfect crispy pata...juicy, tender meat with crunchy exterior!!! You'll have to wait about 15 minutes while it's freshly made but so worth it! Limited drinks at the moment but tried their guava lemonade which was refreshing. Service was friendly and attentive. Anna was our server in training and did a great job...still working out some kinks and wish them well...I'll definitely return soon to try other items. Dabarkadz took over the old Bamboo Steamer spot. It's a pretty large space that would be good for groups. There's even a partitioned area that looked like it could be used for a private party. Prices and portions are very decent. We tried the shrimp lumpia, pancit malabon, and pork sisig. Shrimp lumpia came in 6 pieces (if you just get the regular pork lumpia you'd get 8). Each piece was pretty fresh with one piece of shrimp rolled up in a thin layer of pork. Very crispy, but I wish it was a little less oily - at least the oil seemed fresh. The pork sisig came out in a sizzling hot plate. A good amount of crispy fried bits in there, this dish would probably go well with a bowl of rice. Since it's pretty savory and rich, it could have used some acidity like a squeeze of lime or lemon. It's the first time I had pancit malabon - it's made with a round rice noodle, reminiscent of spaghetti. It was filled with toppings: hard boiled egg, ground pork, some fried pork bits, shrimp, a few mussels. Very filling and a good value dish - had at least three extra meals after bringing it back home. The ambiance feels very homey. Service was pleasant but the dishes took long to arrive. There were about three or four other tables who also ordered around the same time however. They'll need to work out the kinks before their grand opening - I can imagine that service may be very slow if the place was actually filled up. This has become one our go to places for Filipino food. We came for breakfast right at opening and I can only imagine how overwhelming it must have been to see 20+ arrive, lol. We all ordered our own breakfast silogs and palabok & pancit to share at the tables. The one taking our orders was a little confused. In turn, when food was being brought out, some orders were missing. We didn't even get an itemized receipt to check if we were billed correctly. I'm giving the restaurant four stars because the food was actually really delicious and cooked to my liking. The tapa seemed a bit too overcook, but my pork was cooked really well and crispy too. They were able to do substitution from garlic rice to plain white rice. (They got those orders correct). I feel they just need to get things more settled and they will be great! read more

We also had bulalo and it was wonderful broth. It tasted of marrow and actually came with a shank! The lumpia Shanghai was just terrific! Thanks to my friend Cheryl for letting me know about this place. I really missed Filipino food when I was traveling in Europe, and was too jet lagged to cook when I got back, so Filipino sounded really good. You know I had to get Crispy Pata. I was so glad we did. The skin was crunchy but the meat wasn't overcooked and dry. Most places overcook it. We were able to eat the skin without cracking a tooth. They only had a couple of pancit dishes available, so we went with the Pancit Bihon. It was too soupy for me. I would have ordered the Palabok if it had been available. I love Ukoy and make it at home when I am craving it. We ordered it and it was good. Some parts were crispier than others. I wish the shrimp had been kept whole too instead of chopped in small pieces. Service was good. We were the only diners as it was around 1:30 pm. Plenty of tables and they have a bar. Food was good but I don't know what happened to their service. We went when they opened and there was only one other group there. They were always group of two and so were we. It took maybe about 5 minutes for the lady to seat us... there was no one there. After that, it took maybe another 10 to 15 minutes for her to take our order. After we put our order in, it took maybe another 20/30 minutes or so to get our food. I get it they had Door Dash orders and online orders happening as well... but they have to at least have another server or pay attention to the people eating in their lobby. The sisig was good and so was the garlic rice, but they need to work on their speed of service and being attentive. Not once did they come and check on any of us sitting in the lobby. We had to flag down the server for our check. Before we flaged down the server there was a group of maybe 6 waiting to be sat because the server has not left the kitchen. I went to Dabarkadz twice and I must say this place would be best served to be a karaoke bar or nightclub and serve buffet type cuisine. They have an enough space to have massive parties here and already have equipment at their disposal. First time I came here I waited at least 45 minutes to get my order all while being entertained by karaoke singing. When I finally got my order, the food was lukewarm at best. The order is about 45 mins wait time now for 3 orders on a Sunday midafternoon. Our food has not come out from the kitchen as I reviewing this place and it's about 50 mins now. When we got the food, it looked presentable. The rice was not garlic rice seems cold, the longanisa were raw/undercooked, and had to returned the longanisa back to kitchen and waiting for it again. They need better cook coordination from front to back, as the food is cooked served it right away so it doesn't hang around the warmer. Make sure the food is cooked inside by poking it, it's that simple. They need quality control of the food the comes out of the kitchen and time management. Came to celebrate my cousins bday... and the place was packed with 4 other birthdays.. It took 30 mins to get a menu after being seated Another 30 mins to get water and to place our order.... Half the group wish we lifted. There was a band... the noise was soooo loud that we couldn't hear each other talk... Now two hours later half the food hasn't come out. They missed the appetizers. Feel bad for the workers here. It's sort of chaotic with a lack of any discernable management. I placed an order here 2 hours ahead of the pickup time and was told they couldn't fulfill the order when I came in to pick it up. If I didn't stand in front of the kitchen demanding a refund, I'm sure they wouldn't have thought that they owed me one. Be careful ordering from this place.
