I initially made an appointment online for microdermabrasion. I wasn't sure what would be best for my skin texture, dull skin, big pore, and sun spots. On the day of the appointment I told Mila my concerns. Based on my concerns she recommended the chemical peel, which is a cheaper procedure. This showed me as the customer that Mila cares what's best for the customer versus the dollar amount she would make. She stated that is her thoughts but that we could procede with the microdermabrasion if i wished. She did not try to convince me one way or the other. I went ahead with the chemical peel and The table had a warmer and it felt great. Mila gave an awesome massage. I like my massages hard. She is strong and she did not disappoint. I love how she massaged the face, head, shoulders, entire back, and arms. The peel was a painful and long 5 minutes. Mila felt the pain I was experiencing and used a fan to cool down the face and gave words of reassurement that it's almost over. I have poor pain tolerance. The cryotherapy after the peel felt sooooooo good. No more burning pain afterwords. Mila gave me masks to use for the following 3 days to keep skin hydrated. I started to peel on day 4 and I think I finished all peeling on day 9-10. I'm glad I did the chemical peel. I'm happy with the results. It was my first time at Dada Salon and she was very welcoming. I showed her a few pictures of what I wanted. She made some suggestions and was clear and informative when explaining. I wanted texturizing and more weight taken off because there was 6 months worth of grow out. She was moving my hair around to see what she was working with. I just don't think this salon is very organized, I had a facial appointment at 2pm and they said she was running 15-20 minutes late, not ideal but I said that's ok I can wait...rolling up on an hour waiting now with no reception staff checking in or informing me of the additional wait time. Told them I had to go and unfortunately cancel because this is inappropriate to do to clients...I would never experience such bad service at a high end salon, this establishment touts itself as an experienced professional salon and spa? If you're having a hard time finding someone to do your hair right, Kysa @hairbykysa and Richie @richiemiao are your people! Even after 4 years of coming here, I have never let anyone else touch my hair except Richie & Kysa. They do an outstanding job every single time and I leave the salon feeling extremely happy every visit. They never fail to meet my hair goals and they keep my hair feeling healthy despite how many times I've gone in for colors! My other review was for Richie and I still see him til this day. Kysa is your girl if you want to achieve that hair color that you've had your eye on. She used to work under Richie as an apprentice but now she has her own booth at the salon so I've been having her do my color for my hair! I admit to being indecisive through out the years and because of that the lasting result is damaged hair. I've been on the fence for a while for chopping my hair especially because the last time I did something like this, I hated it and told myself never again. A few of friends have previously had their hair done by Jefalyn (IG: Jefastyles) and they highly recommended her. So why not? Booking an appointment with Jefalyn was very convenient and all done over texting. She was very fast to respond as well. When I arrived I was greeted by the front and shortly Jefalyn came to the front to greet me. I was offered tea, coffee, or water for the time being there. She asked me specifically what I was looking for, how short, texture, and more. She washed and made sure the pressure was okay. It felt like heaven! Then she chopped about 6 inches and layered. After she was done cutting, she curled my hair to have beachy waves. If only I were able to do this at home. She gave me information and tips for the right products and size curling iron to use in order to get the look. I like how she didn't push for me to buy any of the products in the salon. Overall it was one of the top salon experiences I had. It was almost like hanging out with a long time friend. I appreciate how Jefalyn was precise and took her time to do my hair, instead of rushing like other places. My hair is soooooo soft and feels refreshed thanks to her. I love the length and the layers. Pricewise it can be pretty pricey however for someone like me who only cuts their hair once or twice a year, I think it's worth it. Best Massage Ever by Ms. Ann Chonticha Saesin!! Being a sports person, I have gotten many deep tissue massages. This one was by far the BEST massage I have ever gotten. I ran the Honolulu Marathon Sunday 12/10 and came in on Monday 12/11 - barely walking, shoulders hunched, and super tight all around. With Ann's technique, she was able go free up my shoulders (lats, rhomboids, and upper trap). She was able to help blood flow down to my legs as well. She started by loosening up my glutes to warming up my hamstrings to getting my calves to flex and extend again creating more ankle mobility. After 90 minutes with Ann, I want to just put her in my pocket and keep her for myself. She's GOOD. I felt like a whole new person after - walking taller, smoother, and with less pain. If you like what you see go to Dada salon on Sheridan and ask for Mercedes! The customer service is wonderful and the part that is personal is the way they treat you the second you enter. They offer you a drink and immediately go looking for the gal that is going to do your hair! A really cool Thing about the drink they serve you is when it's a hot drink they have these neat like "hydro flask" type mugs so the hot drink is hotter LONGER! I asked for a tea and it stayed hot till after the hair was chopped! So- sat/ shampooed/ talked/ chopped... that was like 25mins. (The brand of the mug is called "Finex") the stylist said the owner got the mugs from Amazon.com It's been years since I cut my hair. So I was a tad scared, but... I'm Glad I choose the salon I did. My mom and I had come to get a haircut 12/29/21 but unfortunately left very dissatisfied and disappointed to say the least. I got my hair cut by Kristine and to simply put it the service that I got was aimlessly done and rushed. I showed her an image of the hair cut that I wanted from the beginning but through various excuses she was went around to give me an entirely different haircut. I even clarified that I didn't want bangs straight across and she gave me exactly that! If we are going out of our way to pay so much to make an appointment, pay a deposit, and come to a nice salon, the least I expect is to leave with the hairstyle that I want. She ended up giving my a bob saying that "my hair will be like a circle" if I cut it any shorter. I'm sorry, but isn't it with technique and skill you should be able to cut hair so it doesn't "turn into a circle"? Ridiculous. All I heard was excuses so that she could finish and work on her next client that came early. She was also distracted, I noticed when she would be looking around while cutting my hair. She puts on this bubbly persona but it was all talk because when it came to actually cutting hair there was no technique what so ever. My haircut is such a disappointment. If I wanted a bob I would have asked for one. You can tell she didn't put her best effort because I noticed she took a before picture of my hair but not an after... she clearly was not proud of her own work. My moms service was overall good from her stylist, Amy, but the haircut was jaggedly cut. We were so shocked...The layers were so poorly cut. If you are looking to drain your money for a mediocre hair cut that you can get done for far cheaper, then you should get your hair done here. Initially, they damaged my hair and gave me the wrong color and charged me for a hair cut I didn't want/need (he thinned it so he could work with my hair easier). Then he tried to fix it, but the color is not as light as I wanted it to be (my hair was literally lighter coming in so it definitely could've reached that lightness--he tried to tell me it's hard for Asian hair to get to that lightness). 1st 2 pics is after the damage, last 2 are after he tried to fix it. I'm just mad that I spend over $400 just for my hair to be like this. It's also super cluttered/cheap looking cause there's a cafe and nail salon in there. I recently came into DADA for a highlight and root smudge. I asked for pricing over the phone with my specific stylist. I've seen that this salon is known for being expensive so I wanted to come prepared. Once I check out it jumps from 175 to 350. DOUBLE the price. I would also be fine with this price if I was maybe a little satisfied with my hair. I am a blonde who has been going blonde for over 7 years now. When getting my hair done I noticed my hair was processing for over 30 minutes. My stylist and I were talking about how my hair is very fine. Anyone who styles fine hair knows that you don't process it for long. She did not check lifting once in those 30+ minutes. When washing my hair and putting toner on my hair she had to grab conditioner because she realized that the bleach was on my hair for too long. After she was done toning half of my hair was purple. When drying my hair so much hair was breaking off and my hair was elastic. I again have gone super blonde in the past and it has never broke off the way it did when I went to DADA. I also have seen so many reviews about customer service here. I cant bring myself to call about how I feel about my hair because I wont be compensated or Id have to pay again for what I wanted in the first place. very upset :( read more

She followed up the day before with a text including all the details I needed to know before my appointment. Their location is very convenient. I parked near Macy's Ala Moana. After a quick elevator ride, I found the salon. I checked in at the front and was pleased to follow their COVID guidelines. They led me to the waiting area where Joanna met me and led me to her room. Before starting, she asked me how I wanted my lashes done and if I had any inspo pics. I got the classic set and it's perfect! I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. During the appt, Joanna was really patient with me when my eyes would start twitching (sorry!) and even offered me a blanket when I got cold. At the end, she gave me some aftercare tips. Jannah Kakhorov--remember that name. I had my hair done around the beginning of March at Dada Salon with Jannah. She transformed my long, dark brown virgin hair to a chic chocolate brown balayage! My overall experience at Dada Salon was such an amazing one! LOCATION: They are located at Ala Moana Hotel. I just parked by Macy's Ala Moana near the bridge that connects to the mall, and took the elevator one floor up. It is easy to find once you exit the elevators as it is on the same floor of the swimming pool of the hotel. SALON: Walked in about 5 minutes before my appt and was greeted by the receptionists. They were friendly and took my temperature and I signed in. They escorted me to wait as Jannah was still getting settled in as I was her first appt of the day. Let me just say that WOW, Dada Salon is the literal epitome of extravagant. Apart from hair, they have so many services from a nail salon with chairs, facial/waxing, massages to even a clinic! It does not stop from there as they also have a cafe located at the anterior portion of the salon which serves drinks, meals, and desserts, which I look forward to trying when I come in again. Therefore, the salon itself is huge! Despite the amount of chairs/workstations, we are still able to practice social distancing, so I felt safe. Overall, the salon has so much to offer and lives up to their name on their modern take of helping us feel beautiful. JANNAH: Jannah is a wonderful gal from NYC. She is a master stylist as she knows exactly what she is doing. I came into the salon unsure of the look I wanted to capture, and all I told her is that I wanted a balayage that had more chocolately tones. Even without a reference picture, she worked her magic. She went over every step of the process with me and educated me on aspects of all things hair. Additionally, she even took the time to give me a tour of the salon, which I definitely enjoyed. All together cutting, bleaching, toning, styling amounted to about a 4 hour service. Jannah definitely takes her time to produce high quality work, while maintaining a professionalism and providing comfortable environment. I feel that Yelp does not do much justice in broadcasting her work; therefore, checkout and follow her Instagram @jannah_kahkhorov (sometimes she offers discounts on her IG acct so look out for those). I believe DMing/texting her is the only mode of placing an appt in with her. But, she replies fairly quickly. In all, I am in love with my hair and I have more than satisfied with my experience at Dada Salon with Jannah. This review is for my ever-fabulous hairstylist and color expert, JAMIE KEIKO SERIKAKU!! I would give her 10 stars if Yelp allowed it because she is a rockstar when it comes to coloring! I've been with a dear friend/hairstylist for decades but recently started seeing Jamie because it was just time for a change. My hair-obssesed friends and I have been following her on Instagram (@Jamiekeikohair) for a while and loved her color-melting styles when it comes to balayage & ombre hair. I've been wanting ashy silver streaks in my dark hair for a long time but wasn't able to achieve it with my friend, and that was after a total of 6 sessions that ran on average 7-8 hrs of ass-numbing chair time every appointment. During my FREE consultation-only appt, Jamie was realistic and honest. She explained that because my hair was seriously damaged after all that processing, she couldn't promise it'll come out exactly the way I wanted, but said she'd do her best in getting me closer to my dream hair with each session. We set a date and planned for 6 hours and to my delight, we were able to achieve gorgeous results in just 2.5 hours (this included more lifting/bleaching, color processing, cut/layering and blowout. Wtf right?! This girl is just amazing and I've never been happier! I wanted to maintain my deep eggplant-colored base (hair looks black indoors but in the sun, the vibrant deep purple tint pops!) while giving it more contrast and dimensions with silver chunks. Jamie delivered and then some. As the semi-permanent violet color naturally faded with each wash, my desired ashy silver stood out even more, which was exactly what I wanted. All pics were taken from Jamie, unfiltered & unedited. There was no fancy ring lighting used to hype up my hair, nor was there any professional white canvas for me to stand in front up. Just me standing outside in natural sunlight, against a white paint-chipped wall, lol. Just beautiful results and I couldn't be any happier.
