Took my 96 Tacoma there and after 3 days they haven't even looked at it they were about to close but luckily they said they could leave the key hidden for me so I went to go pick it up so I could take it somewhere that actually could look at it. For some reason my steering wheel was messed up and looked like they cut it. I had a cover on it too and it was cut in half and in the back seat for some reason?... my tank was EMPTY and to top it off my car was left with battery on . ( I took it there to get the ball joints changed) they're lucky it was closed when I got there and there was nobody to get on about this. - HONEST Review from a WOMAN - I scrolled through the other 40ish reviews on the page and found that either the shop was getting 5 stars, or 1. Which is quite strange in my opinion, so in my effort to give a fully fair review, I'll give a 4 star rating. I'll also comment on a couple previous reviews I noticed. I entered through the front door and was greeted by a younger guy looking at a computer. I forgot his name, but I definitely got the vibes that he was relatively new. So, when I was explaining the issues I was having with my AC, he didn't have too much to respond with, except that he'd pass the info along (which seemed fair). But it would have been nice if he would have been able to answer some of my initial questions (for example, how long should I expect for this service to take?). I dropped my car off at 8:40am, and was called at 11:34am with the diagnosis and cost estimate. Wayne was pleasant/polite over the phone and I granted him to move forward with the service needed. I also asked about how long I should expect (so I could arrange my ride). He estimated an hour. I got another call at 12:37pm, the service was complete. His estimate was spot on. *Note on PRICING!!! I got estimates from 2 other shops in town and Dad's Garage was $100-$350 LESS than the other places. When Wayne told me it would be 1 hour of labor, I felt confident I wasn't being ripped off. I picked up my car just around 3pm. Entered the office from the side door, since the front door was locked for some reason. I was greeted by Wayne. He explained his thoughts on what was previously happening with the AC and how it had now been fixed. He printed me a receipt... we had some banter back and forth about my friend who referred me to this shop, and throughout our conversation, he presented himself quite genuinely. We shook hands (like people should shake hands! - respectable), I thanked him for the service he provided and mentioned I'd definitely come back in the future when need be. He offered to have someone go fetch my car from the lot (it was parked about 100ft away). I appreciated the offer! I declined and chose to walk myself. Which brings me to my thoughts on two of the previous reviews by separate women (posted at the same time 7 months ago - which is suspicious IMO). These women made some pretty serious claims about Wayne. And I'll just say - I met the guy (once). I had a 10 minute conversation with him. I'm also VERY intuitive and I pick up on vibes. So I'll just say - AT NO POINT did I feel uncomfortable being around this man. He was polite, professional and carried himself in a respectable manner. He's an older guy, too. Maybe mid/late 60's? So he kind of reminded me of my hardworking grandpa who had a very strong work ethic and just wanted to do right by ppl. Soooo, me personally, I'd need to see PROOF to believe what these women stated in their reviews. read more

Extremely pleased with my experince here. I was dreading bringing my car in for service, but when the symptoms became worse I simply had no choice. I brought my car in after work, and right before they closed for the night. I described the symptoms and he figured out what the problem was right then and there. My car was brought inside for the night. My car is my baby, and this made me happy to know that it would be safe. They called the next morning with the quote before they started work. I was dreading a bill of hundreds and hundres of dollars, but was pleasantly surprised at the low amount. I picked up my car that evening, and it was just as clean as when I had ropped it off. Ok folks. To have a name on your business like that, you BETTER live up to it, right? Wayne - the owner and thus "Dad" - it turns out does care about his work and your wallet. And I was helped by Danny (Denny?) too - he looked the car over totally and gave me a clean ticket for my Christmas trip. So here's the deal: my regular mechanic had all new staff there when I went in this time. New service mgr told me he was new at this - came fr a restaurant. Really?! My presenting concern was a rattle in the front strut. I walked away with a $10,602 estimate, none of which addressed the rattle. So off to Dad's I went, which a friend recommended. Friend said Dad's has always done for his '99 Jeep off-roader only what was essential. Big yup to that. Note: when you drive up to Dad's - don't expect much to look at. It was a lease return one year old truck in excellent when we bought the truck. I have taken it to other shops and it was fixed but didn't last like it should have. Second time I've taken one of my cars here. The actual fix and prices were good and fair but I will not take another car back to this place. While my car was parked in their parking lot waiting for repairs someone ripped out $700 of equipment that was bolted into my trunk. (Subs and amp) Even the side carpeted panel is completely ripped and destroyed. No damage was done to the windows, doors, or locks which makes me think that someone just forgot to lock my door after checking out my cars issue. If you value your car take it to somewhere else with more security or insurance to cover theft. read more

AVOID!!!! DO NOT FALL FOR GOOD REVIEWS - FAKE Based on my experience most of the 5 star reviews here are not legit. Stay away as this place is a typical auto shop rip off. Brought my car in for estimate, told them whats wrong with it and exactly what it needs. I am a mechanic myself and although i do not work as one anymore, I have over 10 years of experience. The only reason I took it in is because of my recent surgery I can not lift more than few lb for a little while. So all I wanted was to get a fair estimate. I asked for rear brakes and struts to be replaced. I was quoted $250 for just the rear brakes. The best brakes Autozone sells is $40 retail, and i know it does not take over two hours to install at 92.50/hr labor rate? A professional can do these in under 30 minutes. I understand that shop needs to make money, so charging me for an hour of labor would have been fine, but definitely not two. Struts are shot on my car as the rear is bouncy as hell, but mechanic said " they just sweat a little". After insisting i get an estimate for struts, it came total to 821.00. Deducting rear brakes estimate at ridiculous 250 we get 571. Again retail for rear struts is under $100 on Amazon and if it takes you more than 1-1.5 hours to change it - you are not a mechanic that should be earning a living repairing cars. Fine, charge me for two, but labor seems to be more than 4 hours for just struts alone. based on the estimate it shoud take a professional mechanic 6 hours to change just rear set of brakes and struts on a passenger car. Overcharge much??? I was also charged $95 for diagnostics of something I TOLD THEM I need. and it took them two days of keeping my car to provide me with estimate. To top it off they were lying that their credit card machine does not accept American Express, which it surely does, as they were able to run my card without a problem, albeit with my insistence. Just shady and rude people that only look to rip you off. read more

I have 5 cars all of them are serviced here Doesn't matter if it's a small repair or major overhaul you will not feel you've been overcharge or gotten a bad deal. Once I hadn't closed the gas cap and the check engine light came on and they charged NOTHING. I also have a disabled husband who was unable to install replacement brake light and they CHARGED ME NOTHING to replace it. I didn't even buy the light from them. I believe you get what you give. It wasn't hard to choose Dad's with their 5 star reviews, and over the 4 times I've dealt with them, it's not hard to choose them over and over again! Long stories short, Wayne took the time to listen to me, drive my car, look for the problem and then fix it - and on 2 occasions now he's found that shotty work from others caused my new issues (again taking time to explain the issues, show me the old parts and help me understand so I could go back to complain to the past mechanics). Example: I don't know much about cars...when it's "broken", I take it somewhere so someone can fix it. I found Dad's. I gave them the car's problem(s) and a budget -- please fix it and don't let it go over my budget (a few hundred dollars). I leave... I get a call, they found the problem and they were charging Less Than $100 To Fix It! Where In Las Vegas Does That Happen?? I swear by Dad's. Not only has the work they perform been Excellent (meaning: the problem gets solved Correctly), but I really trust the shop...they didn't try to gouge me for the full amount I had authorized on the estimate. Avoid! To say that they are dishonest is an understatement. I left my car there overnight since they were busy and couldnt diagnose my car same day, which wouldnt be a problem if they actually diagnosed my car!!! I dont think they even touched it to be honest with you. They gave me an outrageous estimate based on something that I described when I dropped off my car, but I knew there was more to it, that's why I took it to a mechanic. I know nothing about cars, but even with zero knowledge, I could tell there was a problem with my car based on how it was driving, they told me" nope, nothing wrong there, here's $250.00 to replace your rear brakes". Save yourself the time and effort. They also hide that there's a diagnostic fee, no one told me it's gonna be $100 for diagnosis when I was dropping it off.
