Our family's first time at a Korean BBQ joint some I have nothing to compare it to but we all really enjoyed it. We came in mid afternoon on Sunday and the place was about 25% full. The staff was super helpful and patient while I asked a million questions. Since we had no idea what to order our family chose the unlimited BBQ that came with 5-6 meats and 8-9 sides. We tried everything and then we're able to just get more of the ones we liked the best. All the marinated meats were our favorites. I loved the Korean salad side dish and the fish cake sides. You can order as much as you can eat but we were stuffed after 3 rounds of sides, and 3 more individual meats. Cooking the meat ourselves was fun and made for a less hurried meal. Next time I want to try one of the Bowls I saw people chowing down on. Dae Gee you have a new fan. read more

No offense, but if you have never had Korean BBQ and know nothing about Korean/Asian cooking in general you might find this place good. I'm my opinion the flavors were diluted and the meat was extremely fatty and stringy. When the ban chan came out I started laughing because the portions were so so so tiny! The potato salad was maybe a table spoon and I'm not exaggerating at all (I should have taken a picture). The service was friendly but they were very much in a hurry and didn't speak to us often. Weird thing I noticed, but do women work here? Every single employee was a guy! Came in on a Thursday night and got the unlimited BBQ, it was $38 with only one serving of Galbi per person, there were 5 unlimited options from Rib-eye, pork belly, pork, chicken and brisket, it was all very good. You also got unlimited rice and dumplings with it too. Surprisingly, the Galbi should of been the best cut of beef but it fell short for me, it almost seemed like the meat was mushy and maybe close to the end of its prime for me, but everything else was marinated well and the quality of meat for everything else was good as well. $38 seems kind of high to me for such a limited amount of options for meat, but I have also eaten at a lot of places that are tailored towards a large Asian community such as LA and Las Vegas, so for this to be in Denver its pretty good. Dae Gee, please forgive me. I have been a Korean food snob and have refused to try your food until very recently. You serve delicious, legit Korean food. I was wrong. I hope we can still be friends. Long story short, I lived in Koreatown in Los Angeles for a few years and was spoiled with some of the best food in the whole wide world. I wasn't so much into the all you can eat K BBQ, though I think that's a fun, once a year type thing. What I really miss is ordering cheap, delicious take out from BCD tofu house at least once a week. I miss the fish head and the pickles with ice. I thought that surely I couldn't find any Korean food in my new Denver neighborhood that could compare, so I never really tried it. I was missing out! Now that it's getting chilly out, I've been ordering delivery more so I can snuggle up with my cat and eat in the comfort of my own home. I finally gave Dae Gee a try and ordered the bibimbap. I was so pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was! Although the rice wasn't crispy (which is my fault for ordering delivery rather than dining in and eating from a stone bowl), the veggies and kochujang sauce were on point. They also include sides!! Bad experience today. Food took forever to come out. We paid $6.00 for four mandu. Every other dish of them coming out of the kitchen had six. Husband and I each ordered seafood bibimbap. I had one tiny piece of squid in mine and hubs had two instant ramen size shrimp. Price was an extra $3.00 per bowl of we wanted a hot stone bowl, so we ordered without. They came in stone bowls so we figured this might be compensation for our long wait. Nope. They charged us an extra $6.00. Food was also very bland and they never offered us more banchan. This is a unique dining experience. If you are not up for trying new foods, this is not the place for you. I, on the other hand, am always up for exciting new foods! The menu has a variety of proteins, cooked by chef or cooked over the grill by you, served with unlimited side dishes. The side dishes are Korean dishes, and you get little dishes to sample a little bit of everything. Want more pickled yellow radish (my favorite)? No problem. Just ask for more! I also like the roasted seaweed while my husband liked the "potato salad", almost like a mashed potato. The meats are good, especially with the variety of BBQ sauces you can use. The Bee Beem Bhop is very tasty. A large bowl of rice (crispy on the bottom from cooking in the stone bowl) is topped with all sorts of veggies, an egg, and meat of your choice. Be warned: the unlimited Bbq is only available when the entire table is doing it. That's not very clear, if at all that I noticed, on the menu. That was disappointing as it was the reason 3 out of 4 people in our party wanted to go there. So, we ordered the Korean BBQ brisket and chicken (individual) to cook over the grill. That is not what we got. Our meals came out already cooked and much later, no exaggeration, than the other tables who ordered well after we did...and they were enjoying their food well after we could begin to enjoy our food. We came on a Sunday night and we got right in. I did the all you can eat, which is okay...but there are lots of rules to this all you can eat. You have to have at least 2 people in your party and everyone in the party has to do all you can eat. You have to eat all the food they bring you before you can get a second round, and only one round of the Kalbi (korean ribs) which were the best. But for $22/person it was worth it. I loved the sides. Our favorite cuts were the ribs, beef bugogi, and beef brisket. Grilled pineapple was good too! The service here was good, it was school that everyone did everything, you didn't have just one person helping you, you could ask anyone for help. that was great! I can't wait to go back! read more

Really going back and forth between 2 and 3 here based on my recent take out experience with them. If you order a $16 dish of pork bulgogi, you most certainly expect a little more meat than 4 oz or so I would expect. Seriously, please look at the picture of my takeout box to be WARNED that you will get nothing more than that. AND they put it in a big ass box to make it look even worse. I called them after seeing this and thought it must have been a mistake, but the dude on the phone just said "that's how much we give." I told him this was unacceptable, basically to pay that much for such a flimsy amount of meat. He repeated his sentence again and then finally said he would give me another order but it would be coming out of his pocket, and made it a point to tell me that he's a server. I thought, "so what? Tell your manager then." Clearly, he was trying to make me feel bad about this but I really needed to be talking to the manager, not the server. My advice to you is to not order the take out BBQ. I bet they do this for all of them. I have no idea how it is when you dine in, but I've had my share of Korean BBQ in my life and this was by far the biggest ripoff I'd ever seen. Dae Gee is among the best of the best Korean food that I have experienced. A+ dining experience. As soon as we walked in, we were immediately greeted with a warm and friendly smile. We started off with the traditional seafood pancake - a simple dish, yet very easy to mess up, if overcooked. In this case, the seafood in the pancake was cooked to perfection - no rubbery calamari to be found here. For my main dish, I opted to go with something simple, the tofu bee bim bhop. Insanely delicious, I highly recommend. As far as the sides... all of the traditional trimmings were present - the vegetables were pickled perfectly, and did not have an overpowering chili taste. As for the white rice, which is sometimes considered an afterthought, and not important enough to mention in a review, is definitely deserving of some accolades in this case. Dae Gee really nailed it for the perfect rice - fluffy and not overly sticky. This is a pretty cool place to eat massive quantities of grilled meat. I suppose this restaurant has a la carte options and whatnot, but I wouldn't know anything about that. It's always all you can eat BBQ for me, or all you can eat with the added all you can eat shortribs for an additional charge. The all you can eat option comes with unmarinated pork belly and brisket, marinated beef, chicken, and pork bulgogi, and ONE helping of short ribs (kalbi). If you want more shortribs (and you will), you'll need to either order them a la carte, or pay roughly double to get unlimited shortribs. I've done unlimited shortribs twice, and I think I managed to eat 12 shortribs in one sitting. Is that a victory? You decide, I guess. My friend and I flew from Texas to visit and were craving Korean BBQ and I stumbled upon this business and since it had relatively good reviews and was hot and new, we took a chance. It wasn't busy on a Thursday night at 5pm and parking is on the right side of the building if you're facing it. Make sure to park in that area else you'll get towed for the other area to its left. The AYCE is $21 for unlimited meat but the catch is there's only 5 meats offered and the short ribs can only be served once. They give you a sample plate of all the meats which is brisket, pork belly, chicken and spicy pork. I didn't like this concept since we already knew what meats we wanted to eat but I suppose for a newbie, a sampling helps them decide what meats they want to refill on. Our favorite meats were short ribs and brisket. My friend thought the spicy pork was spicy but since I have a higher tolerance for spiciness, it was ok to me. The chicken was decent but takes the longest to cook. Pork belly was mostly fat. Our favorite side dishes were kimchi, kimchi pancake, seaweed, fish cake, and Korean slaw. The grill is legit and you don't end up smelling like Korean BBQ afterwards which was impressive. Our server was pretty good and promptly refilled our meats or side dishes whenever we wanted them. Btw they don't want you to waste food so they'll charge you if there's meat left overs so don't let your eyes fool you and eat to your tummy's real content. Only downsides are wishing they had variety of more meats on the menu for the AYCE and not giving the sampler of meats at the beginning. Dae Gee Pig Out Denver on Colorado Blvd is a Korean BBQ without the BBQ- yet. While their Westminster location has the table BBQs, the food here is STILL not to be missed. Crunchy, sweet and light styles of kimchee, plum flavored soup broths, boppin' Bee Bim Bhop, social-media savvy staff and fantastic customer service. The entire experience was colorfully Korean with a hipster flair. A healthy, fast and flavorful Asian food extravaganza! You will assuredly wish to PIG OUT on the host of dishes offered. Two of us shared from the lunch menu, starting with the Tofu Kim Chee. Slices of sesame-oiled tofu were served up like rays of sunshine. Delicious and light, though vegetarians beware. The Tofu Kim Chee is accompanied by a fragrant chili-spiced salad of pork. Savory and succulent, the shredded pork will please meat-eaters. Included with lunch is an array of side dishes, kimchee style (kimchee means "side dish.") There are somewhat lightly sauteed and still-crisp broccoli tops alongside vinegary and sweet & peppery-spiced cabbage. Also are thin fish-cakes dipped in red-chili sauce as well as rather bland zucchini pancakes. We shared our main dishes, with the Be Bim Bhop a colorful mix of emerald seaweed strips, sunshine yellow fried egg and pink veggies. The rice was thick and sticky, allowing for nicely blending the various sauces and spices stationed at each table. Hot and mild, sweet or vinegary, each diner has a choice of what to add to their meal. The Ttukbaegi Bulgogi noodle soup had a clear and fragrant broth, with star anise undertones. The beef was wafer-thinly sliced and blended nicely with the glass noodles. The soup came out in a cast-iron pot, still boiling. A lovely winter appetizer, though light on the noodles. If they add more noodles and a larger pot, it could be a true meal in and of itself. The broth was flavorful enough though I added some of the hot sauce. Uncaffienated barley tea matched the meal well, though was late in arriving. Wait staff was prompt with delivery once reminded. In fact, staff were helpful the entire experience. Dae Gee also has an impressive use of social media, encouraging patrons to demonstrate how they "PIG OUT" by posting on several social networks. They make it easy for we consumer reviewers to post or to check out reviews before even entering! In fact, etched onto their transparent front door are the hash tags and addresses for six social sites. Hallmark of transparency - as transparent, perhaps, as glass noodles. What a bonus, hash tags are even on the placemats! Patrons don't even need to ask the busy wait staff, allowing more time to "pig out" with the many flavors, aromas and company at Dae Gee. I went here with some friends to celebrate my birthday! Dae Gee is perfect for small or medium groups. The girl that served us was very nice. She checked up on us often and catered to what we needed. If you need anything just ask. Make sure to also ask for your grill to be switched out because the servers don't do that as they make their rounds like the KBBQs in Cali. Since we each got the unlimited bbq, we were served each of the meats they had. Dae Gee serves bulgogi, LA galbi, samgyupsal, chicken, a spicy bulgogi, and pork. All of the meats were very fresh and well marinated. They served side dishes to compliment the meats which were also unlimited, the rice too! I've tried samplers at a food event, which were quite appetizing. So this was my first time at their physical restaurant. It looked as if they have a patio for outdoor seating during the warmer temperatures. Once you enter, you must wait to be seated. They have a decent amount of tables plus a bar. Once seated they provide a large bottle of water with cups. Thank goodness because their food is quite spicy for my sensitive palate. Their menu consists of appetizers, soups, and BBQ. Unfortunately this location doesn't have the table grills just yet. We ordered yook gae jang, which is a spicy hot soup with shredded beef and vegetables. For our main course, we ordered beef and squid bulgogi. With the main course, you get multiple little sides and rice. The yook gae jang was quite spicy for me to handle so I ended up taking a small bite then packing that to take home. Onto the main course, the beef bulgogi was properly marinated and very delicious. But by far my favorite was the squid bulgogi. That was spicy but the squid was soaked in the marinade and seasoned very well. I love Korean food so I was quite satisfied with this restaurant. I had high hopes for this place but I am really disappointed. Unfortunately, the food is terrible and the restaurant literally had one person working and she was clearly overwhelmed by how busy it was for a Monday. I love the concept where you cook your own food but the quality of the meats were very poor and basically all fat (I'm not even exaggerating, it was literally all fat). We ordered 4 of the 'All you can eat' and the server dropped our raw meats off and left to attend other tables, never once did she come back to tell us what the meats were, like other restaurants like these do, at least to get us started. I came here with my dad. We both really enjoy Korean BBQ and I don't think you can go wrong with all you can eat Korean BBQ. We both really enjoyed the meat. The short ribs and pork belly are my personal favorite. The beef bulgogi was a little bland, in my opinion. If just didn't have the stronger flavor I'm used to. Now, I know everyone makes theirs differently, and it's not Grandma's house (or my house) but I thought the marinade could use something. More time? More garlic? Everything but it was great. They'll bring you more sides, rice and meat whenever you ask. The service was okay. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it wasn't awful. My water stayed full, and she came by often enough to ensure we had enough food. There was a family that came in for their first KBBQ experience that sat near us, though, and I thought it would have been nice for the waitress to explain the process and give them some tips. This is not real Korean food. I repeat this is NOT real Korean food. I ordered the spicy tofu soup (soon doo boo), but it was pretty bland. There were also huge uncut chunks of tofu in the soup. All the food my group ordered was way too salty. According to my friend, the LA ribs there taste like sponges dipped in salt. It might suit your taste if you have never really tried authentic korean food, but if you're used to eating authentic korean food, this place is not for you. For Koreans who eat korean food regularly, do not go here. You will be very disappointed at the food quality. I give the food quality 1 star, but the customer service was relatively good so I decided to settle with 2 stars. If you're planning to eat here, don't choose the soups, the amount of salt they put in there is just ridiculous. read more
