Big fan! In efforts to satiate my intense gopchang craving, I came across this spot -- seemingly the only establishment now that specializes it in the area. Beef intestines and innards may not be for everyone, but this spot does it especially well. They share a space with The Meat Bros, so upon entry they'll ask you which restaurant you're here for. We were seated in the booths on the right side of the restaurant, the allocated space for Daehan. We opted for beef large intestines (small) and beef small intestines (small) for two people. It didn't look like a lot initially, but it was very filling for us. Also ordered a bibim guksoo (spicy cold noodles) to share, which may have too much for us, but balanced out our meal. There's a server who cooks everything in front of you; appreciated how carefully he organized everything like a puzzle to ensure everything was properly cooked. I prefer my gopchang extra crispy, so I actually liked that they cook it longer here and utilize the oil around the whole pan. The torching adds a nice finishing touch. The gopchang itself isn't too seasoned, but they provide 4 different sauces to use -- a cheese powder, sesame oil + garlic, fruit sauce and their special soy sauce. Made my perfect bite with their white kimchi, something I thoroughly enjoyed more than I usually would. Normally I'm a bigger fan of the large intestines, but their small intestines took the cake for me. Its good but nothing to rave about. They have combo but they will not substitute anything for something else. We dont like big intestines so we ended up ordering everything separately. Beer was super expensive but got 25% foam. The fried rice is good some days and some days it's not (too much butter). Not too consistent. I go when I crave some soju. Its good to eat with soju. Food is delicious. We had the assorted combo (top 1 choice on menu, the more expensive one of the two without English translation). Within the convo: large intestine is my favorite, second is heart. Small intestine is Andrew's favorite. Beef tripes are a little hard to chew, but that's probably the point. Combo comes with free rice and steamed egg bowl. It's quite a show when everything is cooked in front you and served hot and warm. Cook knows her stuff, veges and meats are cooked in a specific order to prevent overcooking. There is a large parking lot you can park at to get to the restaurant. It's attached to Meat Bros so when you go in they'll ask you which restaurant you want. I usually came during a lunch time on a weekday so it was never busy. The restaurant has lots of seats and it is very spacious. I love daegopchang (large beef intestines) so that is always my go-to here. There isn't many places that offer large beef intestines around the area but I would say the service and food here is much better than gopchang story in fort lee. They grill the meat fresh right in front of you and it could be a long process as gopchang takes awhile. The gopchang itself isn't seasoned much but they give you different kinds of sauces you can dip from which I like. At the end, I always get the fried rice with cheese and fish eggs! I normally don't write reviews on Yelp, but I just have to mention my wonderful experience eating at Daehan Gopchang and give them the recognition they deserve. Our server's name was J.T. and let me just say, the service we received was ABSOLUTELY spectacular. A friend had highly recommended this spot and we decided to check it out as we are huge fans of gopchang places, but this was an unexpected find. I was surprised to see all the negative reviews but I can honestly say that from the moment my husband and I stepped foot through the door to the moment we left, we left as happy customers and would return in a heartbeat. As soon as we were seated, our server took down our order and began the "fire show," the main event where he grilled each of the various intestines, which we highly enjoyed. Alongside the intestines, we also had mushrooms, onions, sweet potatoes, leek, rice cakes, scallions, and kimchi to enjoy with the rest of our food. It was awesome seeing the process of how our food was cooked/flamed with a torch, and even nicer to see the big flambé at the end. Although it took some time for the intestines to be cooked thoroughly (~5-10 minutes), we actually really appreciated the attention and care that was put into grilling the food and in serving us. As far as the food, we ordered one portion of assorted intestine combo and one extra portion of gopchang, and everything was just phenomenal. My husband and I normally enjoy eating just the gopchang (small intestine) in general. But this place opened our eyes to the daechang (large intestine) and makchang (abomasum) for sure. The daechang was SOOO nice & crispy on the outside, but soft & juicy on the inside. And when I say juicy, I mean JUICY. It literally melted in my mouth. The makchang was so good too. The texture was on point and it just left us at a loss of words. Would DEFINITELY recommend trying both the daechang & makchang if you ever visit. And get the soju too!!! This combination is HEAVEN. There were four different sauces you could dip your intestines in: seasoning powder, garlic soy sauce, fruit sauce, soy sauce. We both personally liked the soy sauce best but would alternate between different sauces every now and then for a different tasting experience. I could definitely see how eating too much can lead to feeling really oily and greasy, as gopchang is originally a very fatty food. But eating the leek and kimchi alongside the intestines really helps neutralize the fat and oil. There is also white kimchi radish served on the side to help cleanse your palette. When we were finished with our main dish, we ordered the kimchi fried rice with tobiko and cheese. So let me just start by saying I usually have low expectations for fried rice made with leftovers. But I finished the whole thing in less than a minute! I kid you not, it was so SO delicious! And the portion size itself was just right. I've never had such excitement about fried rice before but omg... The total cost was around $30 per portion of food, but it was SO worth it. I recommend coming here during the daytime when it's less busy, because I had heard nighttime is crazy and service is less attentive. So thankful I was able to come here and find this gem. You got to enjoy innards and stuff to appreciate this place. That's ultimately their speciality and they do a good job of it over the grill. The restaurant is in a share space with The Meat Bros (which can be a bit confusing). Selection is pretty limited with various combos, but that's really sufficient. She never answered us every time we ordered and just grunted at us when we tried to order or talk to her. Even though the food is good, the portion is tiny and expensive. I don't live in jersey so when I come to jersey, I get Korean food take out to bring it back home. I typically get gopchang story but decided to try daehan gopchang since my friends told me they were good. Couple months ago, I placed a Togo over through grub hub and I was minutes way from the restaurant and grub hub calls me and says the restaurant cancelled my order. No explanation or nothing. I came back in town so decided to give this place a try. We ordered ahead and when we went to pick up our order there was a huge miscommunication. My husband told them our order number and my name and the worker kept asking if he is from grubhub. I thought maybe it's because they don't speak English very well so I go in and ask in Korean and they're still confused and they spoke perfect English. As I am standing there confused I keep seeing the ONE order by the register, which was ours. Then they asked me again where we place the order, I said "Yelp so through grub hub" then this guy was able to located the order and we left. After all that we came home and the food wasn't even that great. The gopchang was dry and over cooked. I hope to try this place out in person and when I do, I hope I can update my review to 5 stars and the food is as tasty as they say! read more

Pros: - the meat itself tastes good - parking is super easy (and free) which is hard to find in Fort Lee Cons: - the portions are tiny - the fried rice at the end was super underwhelming - the music there is super loud which makes it hard to hear the staff - the layout of the restaurant is really confusing The rundown: So this restaurant is a combination of two restaurants: an all you can eat meat buffet and a gopchang restaurant. This was my first time at this establishment and was unaware of the logistics. When I first walked in, the lady up front asks which one I would like to eat at. But because this was my first time here, I said "both", not knowing you had to choose one or the other. A few minutes later the host asked us again. I asked if we can eat both AYCE and have gopchang, which she said no to. We couldn't hear her the first time because of the music so we asked her to repeat what she said, to which she responded "That's why I asked you in the beginning which one you wanted." We opted for just gopchang and ordered 3 portions of the assortment set. They give out four dipping options. Three sauces and a powder dip. I thought the waiter would explain what the sauces were to us since he knew it was our first time, but he didn't. But the sauces were good. They cook the raw meat in front of you, which is good for freshness but also takes another 15 minutes before you can eat. And once the actual meat cooks down, it shrinks significantly. The order comes with a side of vegetables: 2 mushrooms, 2 pumpkin slices, 1 onion, 2 rice cakes, garlic and some potato slices. We asked the waiter if the portion was for 3 people because it seemed small. He told us the vegetable sides are the same in quantity regardless of if you ordered 2-3 portions, which doesn't make too much sense to me personally. Luckily we were able to order another plate of vegetables. After you finish your meal, they make kimchi fried rice from the leftover oil and vegetables. It's a complementary part of your meal, which was great, but again the portions were tiny. The actual fried rice was also underwhelming. It mostly tasted like kimchi and was lacking any other flavor. Even having 3 portions of meat and 2 bowls of fried rice afterwards, not a single one of us were full after the meal.
