Everyone i know raves about this place so i had to come try it. We went on Saturday night and there was a long wait. The staff was so busy running around but was nice. The scallion pancake was one of the best i have ever had. I dont normally like scallion pancake but i would totally eat this one again. We ordered a bunch of different noodles to share and they all tasted great. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the soup was good. The restaurant was a decent size but very busy. I will definitely be going back.
This place is always packed. I don't think I've ever been here when it wasn't. I love their seafood pancake. It's thick, crispy, and always one of my favorite dishes to order. Their noodle dishes are seasoned really well, but I can't say they're outstanding. The broth and overall flavor are good. That said, the customer service is excellent. The servers are always friendly, attentive, and very polite, which makes the dining experience even better.
Excellent authentic Kalguksu (Korean knife cut noodle)! So much variety and generous portions. We arrived on a weekday evening and was seated within 10 minutes. I got the chicken Kalguksu. The food came relatively quickly as well, with rich flavorful broth, chewy noodles and tender pieces of chicken. Mine was not spicy by default but you can add some spices to it to your liking. Definitely recommend for a cooler or rainy day.
Food first, thoughts after... Wow great spot for tradition korean kalguksu. The broth is delicious. I would say my highlight was the pajeon. The outer crust is so good because of the iron pan it is served on. The fish flakes on top make it so flavorful. Service was so good. They made sure we kept getting banchan without us having to ask.
Fantastic! Huge bowls of silky smooth kalguksu - I loved the mild seafood flavors of the clam kalguksu. The bibim guksu was the perfect cold summer menu item, flavorful and plenty of crisp veggies. Comfortable seating, kind workers, plenty of leftovers to take home and enjoy.
Finally made it out ot this institution and so glad I did. Their Korean knifecut noodles are not the easiest thing to find outside of Murray Hill and in that way they're a bit of a cultural institution. Big space, easy to come in on a weeknight and get seated for a table of four and the service was very friendly. This place is perfect for when it's the winter and you need some knifecut noodles to help heal your soul. We got a variety of them of varying thicknesses, which one you'll like better is entirely preference. We got the dumplings and the okonomi which were solid, though I think the noodles is really where they shine. Unassuming place, made it onto this reddit list of authentic places people would eat seeking food from their own countires and as someone who grew up eating a fair amount of korean food I really liked it here. Hope they stick around for a long time!
We've been coming to this restaurant since before COVID, when they were at their previous location just a few storefronts down the block. It has become one of our regular spots whenever we're in Flushing. We stopped in tonight around 5:00 p.m., and it was already busy, which is always a good sign. We shared the seafood pancake, my husband ordered the steamed dumplings, and I had the soft tofu with long noodles and vegetables in a mild flavor. Everything was flavorful and satisfying as always. I forgot to take photos of the seafood pancake and dumplings before we started eating--they looked too good to wait! They also bring two complimentary small side dishes to start. I usually go straight for the kimchi, and the staff is always attentive, asking if we need more and happily bringing additional servings. The entire staff is kind, courteous, and attentive. This continues to be a reliable and enjoyable place for us, and we will definitely keep coming back.
The seafood pancake here is the best I've ever had in my life. Super thick and super crispy w lots of filling!!! Love the offering of hot soy and honey soy as well. The kalguksu is good but I think just not something I'm a super fan of def like it tho. It was pretty rich and clean tasting and especially with the pepper and salt added the broth was yummy. Noodles were soft and chewy without being soggy. The bibimguksu was lowkey a little too saucy and salty for me. I think it could've been watered down in a bit. Loved the lettuce in it tho. Feel like both noodles could've used more protein. Overall great ambiance and service.
Daesung is up there as among my favorite Korean places! They're known for their Korean pancakes and their noodle dishes. Their pancakes and definitely huge and I love their noodle dishes! I especially like how they combine soondubu and kalguksu into one dish, and I usually get their beef bulgogi.
If you're a noodle lover like me, then you need to check this place out! Super cozy & homey restaurant. The service was amazing. I had to get their seafood soondubu kalguksu which was packed with lots of fresh seafood and soft tofu. The noodles were bouncy, and the broth was flavorful and addicting. This dish is perfect for a cold winter meal. And who goes to a Korean restaurant without ordering a Korean pancake?? The seafood pancake was crispy and had lots of toppings as well. Definitely come check this place out if you're into affordable prices & big portions!
Your entire party must be present for you to be seated. Service is good, be sure to use the red "call" buttons on the wall or table to call over the wait staff. Staff do a great job cleaning tables and condiments after a party leaves - I saw the diligence that the workers went through as I saw tables come and go. Food is worth coming back for! Great portion, great broth, and the sujebi is tasty. If you don't eat much then 2 people may be able to share one bowl. Price ranges about $20-26 per bowl. Seafood pancake is tasty. I would order this again as well. Overall a great dining experience, they will usually have a table available for a party of 4 at any given time. If you're a large party you may want to call ahead and give them a heads up.
A fantastic kalguksu restaurant with the best pajeon in NYC. The seafood noodle soups are clean and light tasting with a good amount of seafood. The pancakes especially the ones with bonito flakes are amazing. Its crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Its also pricier than most other Korean restaurants. The service was good. Highly recommended.
Friends had recommended this place for great broths and seafood pancake. Both are true! This place is great for a cold day. Parking is alright and you can miss the restaurant if you aren't really looking for it. Staff greets you right away and you get a seat. Restaurant is mid sized and great ambiance with romantic soft lighting, oak tones and a contemporary, modern design. Utensils appear to be on the wood planks behind or on your side so it's convenient for self-service. Ordered a variety of foods with friends to share and what a feast we had. We had a few noodle soups with the two noodle options and my favorite was the beef bulgogi, mild spice. What a bomb of flavors! Really good and recommend a soup with beef bulgogi. The seafood pancake with bits of bacon in it was a solid winner. Giant pizza-like style with an abundant of ingredients. It's quite filling and a great shareable dish. Would definitely order again. Fried dumpling - I believe this was vegetable filling but you can pass on this. Wasn't much 'wow' factor for me but kids loved it. Delicious broths. Flavorful food without a heavy hand in salt. Chockful of generous ingredients in the seafood pancake. Reasonable prices. Along with good company. What more can you ask for these days? Great spot for dining with family and friends. How disappointing. The thing is that most of the time, it's not extremely difficult to make an effort to ensure as good a dining experience for customers as possible. In this case, of the waitstaff had communicated my request for a reasonable amount of shallots for our pancake to the kitchen, and the kitchen honoured that request, we would have had another great experience like last time. Then again, I don't believe I should have to make a request for something they should take care of on their own. In that respect, I guess you could say that they ARE consistent - consistently skimping on shallots ('pa' in Korean) on the 'pa jeon,' aka shallot pancake. I should mention also that (1) even as I made the request while placing or orders, the waitstaff gave me an incredulous look as if to say how dare you, and (2) the same waitstaff did not once check on our table while I saw her check on other tables. I'm unimpressed but hope they continue to improve. read more
If your looking for something broth-y that will even clear your sinus, this is the place! Everything that is served here is fresh including the seafood that they were using! The portion they give you is enough as you can see the picture it is almost filled to the brim! But one person will most likely be able to finish their portion because it's just that good! The spice level is at a good level and if your looking for something that's spicy but won't hurt you stomach I would go for it. If your with a party of like 4 I would recommend the pajun (korean pancake) it is so good here as well with all the different varieties they have it'll be hard to pick. The service was fast and they were kind! This location has been renovated compared to the where they were before and it looks amazing inside as well! Some of the best Korean food I had and at a such a generous portion size! My friend and I ordered and shared the fishcake noodle soup and the seafood pancake and it was a lot for the two of us! The seafood pancake was perfectly crispy with a lightness to it. It had a good amount of seafood that wasn't just the frozen mix. The fishcake noodle was likewise also really good. The fishcake that they gave us was a good variety and the noodles were perfectly chewy and bouncy. The soup was also was very flavorful. The service was also quick and easy and the interior had a very nice wooden feel to it. They also asked us if we want more kimchi but they already gave us a lot of kimchi lol. Overall, I highly recommend this place and the seafood pancake! Everything was amazing and I would definitely come back again! read more
I came to this place so many times and introduced this place to a lot of friends. We all like the food. The seafood pancake is a must, and I like the cold noodle. They recently changed the recipe for their soondubu and it tastes even better now. I also love their kimchi and I buy a bucket to eat at home. This review is not related to their food. The front desk mixed up 2 credit cards and gave ours to another customer, and the customer left first. We just lost our card like that. The front desk was panicking, kept apologizing and told us she can personally deliver our card to our place if she finds it. She didn't find it. She didn't give us any compensation and I honestly would appreciate some free kimchi because it's the gesture that matters, not her delivering the card to my place. It's not like I would want her to know my address. I think this could have been handled better. read more
This place is an absolute gem! The pancake is super unique and to die for, it's like a takoyaki but in the form of a pancake! We came during the weekend shortly after noon and it was also packed. Their noodles are also great too, which makes sense given it's in the name. Highly recommend the fish cake wide noodle sujebi! The stew is extremely flavorful and perfect for a rainy, fall day. 5 stars for the pancakes! Came here with friends after a game of volleyball so we were ravenous. We heard this place is known for their pancakes so we got two of them, which was completely worth it. We got the seafood pancake and bacon pancake. The pancakes were filling and both really good in different ways. The seafood pancake was covered in brown sauce and bonito flakes, which added a burst of flavor to the seafood pancake. The bacon on the other pancake was fragrant and the pancake had an addictive crunch to it. I had four slices of the pancakes with some side dishes and was full from that. One friend also got the tofu stew which was also delicious and not salty. The side dishes were yummy and fresh too! Can't wait to go back! read more
They have the best kimchi here, crunchy with the right amount of garlic. Have tried almost every item on their menu and have not had a disappointing experience. The clam kalguksu is one of my favorites from the refreshingly clean broth to the perfectly cooked noodles. The seafood pancake is extremely crispy and they are very generous with the amount of seafood. The cold bibimguksu is a spicy and tangy noodle salad - every bite was better than the last. The oyster tofu stew is hearty and even more delicious the next day. Highly recommended as a takeout option! read more

Great food and great service! The restaurant is clean and great for groups. The soup is good (could be a little more flavorful) but the kimchi makes up for it. Solid spot for comfort soup! Parking is a bit difficult to find but worth it! read more
Finally made it here after having it bookmarked for awhile! Came this past weekend with my bf and friend and was not disappointed! I liked the vibe inside and the decor was nice! My friends instantly noticed that they have a BOGO for all beer and soju! We were told to try the Terra beer, as they were doing some sort of promo for it. We also got Kloud. Since it was BOGO, we got 2 Terra's but the bottle of Kloud was slightly bigger... so we only got one. Not sure what happened there but it wasn't a big deal. After hearing rave reviews about their oko pajeon, obviously we had to get it! This was definitely a 5/5!!! First, it's HUGE, you could probably split this with at least 6 people and have a decent slice each. Second, it was nice and crispy. Third, tons of seafood inside! At the table, they have a spicy soy sauce and a sweet soy sauce. I really liked the sweet one with the pancake! The kimchi was good but the i loved the pickled chayote- so refreshing! On to the noodles. I got the regular chicken, my bf got the clam and my friend got oden. I liked mine the best. The hand pulled flat noodles were nice and chewy, which was good! But the chicken could've been more tender. The soup was also good but not as flavorful as I would've hoped. Oh! They give you this spicy sauce, not sure what it's called but it's delish!! Not too spicy but adds sooo much flavor to the soup! The clam noodle were ok- lot of clams but I wasn't a huge fan of the soup. I also had a sip of the spicy oden soup, which wasn't bad! Overall, I'd definitely come back here. I saw they have some "hot pots". Will be getting that along with some soju next time! And ofc the pancake is a must have! read more

One of my favorite Korean spots in Queens! The restaurant is always clean and the staff are so friendly. They specialize in kalguksu (long and thin) and sujebi (wide and chewy) style noodles, and there is a wide variety of soups and stews you can get with them. Their portions are pretty large, so we always leave with leftovers (enough for another meal or two). My go-tos are the pork soondubu sujebi and the beef bulgogi bibim guksu (cold noodle dish), but everything is delicious. They also have the best kimchi and pajeon. The haemul pajeon is a must! It's very crispy and full of seafood. They also sell containers of kimchi so you can take some at home. Highly recommend! read more
Came here twice in Feb! The portions are very generous! The seafood pancake is definitely worth getting if you're into seafood pancakes. I usually get the soondubu dish. You can choose if you want the thin vs broad noodles with your meal! Would recommend coming here for a nice homey korean meal. Also the servers are polite! read more
After reading mixed reviews on this place I wasn't sure what to expect. I was certainly craving the Haemul Oko Pajeon (Seafood oko pancake) and felt fairly confident that was the dish to get (correct!), but I also felt compelled to try others. I was happy I did because this turned into one of my pandemic happy meals - it felt like a bit of a celebration eating it. Bibim Mandu (Fried dumplings with veggies mixed with sweet and spicy sauce.): What makes this dish so good is the combination of all the elements - dumpling, colorful chopped veges (salad) and the sweet and spicy sauce. Each on its own would be ok, but when eaten together it became a delicious combo. Dip either the dumpling or a chopstick full of veges in the sauce then have it all together in one bite. So yum! Haemul Oko Pajeon (Seafood oko pancake): This is the recommended dish by nearly all that eat here and with good reason. This lighty fried pancake is packed with seafood and smothered in bonito flakes. The slight sweet dipping sauce makes it all fantastic. Bajilag Kalguksu (Short-neck clam Kalguksu): I think they mean little neck clams here, they are the small, succulent easy to chew ones. I got this with broad hand ripped noodles and just loved all the seafood briny clam laced broth. The flavors are more subtle than the other dishes mentioned here, but that is the beauty of it. Half slices of firm cucumber balance out the texture and this was packed with clams. Banchan aren't varied dishes here, but the side of kimchi included with our order is an excellent version. I loved all the flavors and the textures (even though slightly diminished because of the nature of take out) I can't wait to enjoy a meal here with that freshly served Seafood Oko pancake and dumplings I would expect it to be even better. Waited a little bit for the table out front but WORTH IT. The veggie pancake was super crunchy without being oily. The hubster has a shellfish allergy but I'd love to try the seafood pancake next time. It's HUGE, so definitely shareable between 4 people. Also had the Bajilag Soondubu Kalguksu (short neck clam with tofu stew and noodles). LOVE the seafood soup and fresh noodles. I'm super impressed with the amount of clams in the stew. Lots of umami flavor and the spice was just right. Perfect for a cold evening. He had the same but with beef bulgogi. I was too content with my dish to try his but we both agreed that we'd be back so i assume he enjoyed his dish as well :) This is my kind of comfort food. Soupy, hearty and flavorful. PLUS they have the crunchy pancake to contrast the texture of the stew. LOVE this place! p.s. if you order their pancake to-go, they pack it a fancy pizza-box. +1 for packaging. read more
This is probably my favorite noodle spot in Queens- and that's saying something because Korean noodles don't typically out perform the likes of Pho or Ramen. New location is spacious, and they've got all the branded cutlery and tableware. Sauces and utensils are self serve and to top off everything - their kimchi is some of the freshest and best in my opinion. It's a bit pricier but your portions are huge- either share or plan to bring home half your portion. You can not go wrong with bulgogi soondubu + any noodle choice and ANY of the pajeon. I've had the seafood and bacon- both amazing. Once scarf and hat season rolls around, you can bet you'll be craving this stuff. My only word of advice is if you have any allergies, scope out the menu before making this your dining destination. Seafood allergies/soy are a toughie here. Also from experience the non-spicy dishes don't have the same flare, so choose wisely. read more

Daesung has been one of my go-to restaurants ever since their original location that was just a few stores down from where it is now. It's a pretty convenient area; a bus stops nearby and there's plenty of parking everywhere. The restaurant is also very spacious with many tables, but you may have to wait if you go during peak meal times. Even if there is a wait, I never had to wait too long. Every time I visit, I always get their pancakes and noodles, which is what they are known for. Any version of their pancake is the size of a pizza pie and is filled with so much stuff; they always put a perfect balance of greens and protein. Comes out hot and fresh on a hot plate as well. You can't go wrong with any of their noodles too. It's very customizable from spice level, to protein option, noodle type, and even if you want tofu or no tofu. For me, I prefer eating the sujebi noodle type, which is the wide noodle and typically get the seafood option. They're always cooked perfectly where it's chewy yet soft. Their pricing is decent and their portions are huge, so it makes it so worth it and that much more satisfying to eat! Definitely give Daesung a chance when you're in the mood for some Korean comfort food. read more

Wow, came here on a bit of a whim with my boyfriend. We wanted to try a bunch of things and got so.much.food. Our server warned us, but we proceeded anyway. The Seafood Pancake is unreal. It's something I normally avoid because they're normally greasy with barely any filling. This is mostly fresh seafood, with a tiny bit of batter covering it and then fried. There is so much squid and shrimp in here. It is huge and delicious. I also ordered the Soondubu Kalgusku, the soft tofu soup with noodles. It was delicious and a huge portion. We got kimchi, and a couple of other sides (kimchi cucumbers, something similar to fish cakes, and a root vegetable) to go along with our meal. The kimchi comes in a pretty big pot, which is way better than the tiny plastic cups many places give you. All of the sides were delicious, with kimchi being my favorite. My boyfriend also ordered a soup and the Bibim Man Du which he loved. The staff was very nice, restaurant is nice and modern, and the food is super fresh with huge portions. Highly recommend this place and it's definitely going to become part of our normal rotation! read more

I have been meaning to try this place considering my bf lives less than two blocks from here & finally, today was the day! It did not disappoint- everyone who's saying amazing things about the seafood pancake are all correct. It's crispy & thick with goodies, must devour when it's nice & hot with some cool Makgeolli to down it with. I had the Bibim Guksu - Vegetable cold korean noodle with this banging spicy/sweet sauce perfect for the hot weather. It absolutely hit the spot & it's something I will definitely crave again in the near future. I tried my friends Sundubu-jjigae & it was also perfect - better than (gasp) BCD Tofu House! All in all, it's place to check out especially if you live near by. I shall let the pictures do the talking. read more

Hands down best seafood pancake I've ever had!!! It was super crunchy and flavorful. Found this place randomly on google and went to give it a try. I got the wide noodle seafood and it was amazingggg. The restaurant felt pretty upscale and staff was super nice. We didn't realize until after that the noodles were meant to be shared so we each got a bowl and had to bring it home haha. read more
I've heard this place raved about a bunch of times and I've been wanting to try it for a while now. Decided to stop in for lunch today to finally give it a go. The staff was very nice although they could be more on top of refilling waters (I had to ask each time). The pancakes unfortunately were underwhelming for me. I found them to be very bland, a bit too crispy and the seafood overdone. I've had much better pajeon other places and I was missing the special sauce you usually get at other places (they just have basic soy sauce here). I was disappointed. I also got the Haemul Soondubu Kalguksu which was good. The broth was light and the noodles were cooked perfectly. It could've had a bit more flavor but overall it was enjoyable. Each dish had a very nice amount of seafood in it and the portions of the dishes themselves were very generous. I took half the pajeon home. Overall I thought this place was average, nothing special. It's not something I'll sit here craving and need to go back for. read more
Saw they had some cold noodles for the summer season. Tried their bibim guksu this time. The server took the time to inform is that this is not Korean ice noodles, the bibim guksu is its own thing. It is cold noodles but instead of ice soup, there's a red sauce like bibimbap. It was refreshing and light and the portion was huge after it was mixed. They are known for their delicious Korean pancakes, this time I tried the seafood pancake. They do it so well! Crispy on the outside and chewy and soft on the inside. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Also had the soondobu as we didn't have space for a big stew. It was good, especially with the rice. Let the rice soak up some of that hot stew and it's so filling. Their banchan selection was great too, crunchy kimchi and pickled and thinly sliced pears? My friend and I came here on a Thursday night for dinner and were instantly greeted with friendly vibes! All of the waiters looked after us like they were our own mothers. We ordered the Korean seafood pancake (pajeon) and fish tofu noodle soup to share! The portions were huge and both dishes were incredibly tasty. The pancake is definitely good for about 4 people and tastes great with the honey soy dipping sauce. This is definitely food that reminds you of home. Hello and welcome to my review Let me tell you somethang Kimchi: 5/5 fire damn thats some good stuff, free and flames Bacon and seafood pajun: 5/5 oh ny gawd rawkneeeeee its so crispy and gobbly its so good you must get Some chicken soup with noodles: 3.5/5 its solid and hits the craving Bulgolgi Tofu Soup: 3/5 i should have known better, it made the soup sweeter than i liked so its just iffy on my end But i would totally come back The area is clean and the TOILETS!!!!!!! Service was really good and efficient despite the long lines. Although their were a lot of tables in front of us, we were able to get seated pretty quickly and was able to order before being seated so we could get our food quicker. The soup base is what makes the place special and taste very similar to the noodles I had when I went to Korea. I prefer the knife cut noddles compared to the wide noodles. I tried the cold noodles (not pictured) and the seafood pancake (not pictured) and the pancake was one of the better pancakes I had. read more
Rudest waitress alert that really started off what I had high expectations for turned into a disaster. We arrived around 11:30am and was looking forward to trying Daesung. Party of 6, venue was less than 1/3 full. Not sure why the waitress was being such a pain. She took us to the back of the restaurant near the bathroom and next to the dirty dish cart and wanted to squeeze 6 of us into a table of 4. She literally stuffed a chair in between two chairs leaving no space in between the chairs and expected two of us to sit at the crack when there were so many empty tables. She kept insisting we have to sit there when we asked her more than 3 times that we would like to sit at another table. The table we asked to move to was for 6 but she was adamant about the 4 seater fitting 6 and kept refusing our request. After some back and forth, she finally agreed to let us sit at the 6 person table but it really left a bad impression on the group. I didn't see her making the party or 2 sit at a smaller table but instead she let them sit comfortably at a table of 4. I can understand if the restaurant was full and we had no other option but this wasn't the case. I doubt I will go back to this restaurant. Even though the reviews are great my expectation of the food was not met and it had nothing to do with her attitude. The waitress who served us was wonderful and diligent. We ordered the clam noodle soup. Noodles were great but soup was bland and had a very odd/unfresh seafood taste. The seafood pancake texture was very nice and crispy but I thought it was a little too doughy and dry at some parts. The cold noodles was a little interesting for my taste but other people liked it. Tofu stew was good but also a bit bland. The kimchi and turnip are out of this world. I'm not sure what the hype is but not worth the aggravation to me for such rude service from the waitress. read more
Hidden away in Flushing/Murray Hill, their food is well worth the trip out if you aren't local. FOOD: Easily the best Korean pancake (pajeon) I've ever had. Also had one of their chicken noodle stews and it was phenomenal--simple yet absolutely delicious and soul-warming. PRICE: Incredible value for your money--I'd pay more for this quality of food! There are certainly many places in Ktown Manhattan that are priced way higher and not as good tasting. If you are craving korean noodles or pancake, this place is pretty good. The pancake was huge and has a lot of seafood. The noodle soup is tasty as well. I like the wide noodles (sujebi) more since it is chewier; one problem with this noodle type is the big piece of noodle tastes good, but the smaller piece are overcooked and become soggy. The bibim guksu is very well-seasoned (and quite spicy) and is the highlight of the dinner. The restaurant is very packed when we arrive. read more

I was craving from kalguksu so my mom and I decided to come here after out hair dresser recommended it. They have outdoor dining in the front of their store and in the parking lot behind it. Order: - Chicken Kalguksu (5/5) - Haemul Ulkun Soojebe (5/5) Pros: - A lot of options to choose from - Tasty fresh noodles - Great outdoor dining set up - Can choose between kalguksu (fresh cut noodles) or soojebe (fresh pulled noodles) Cons: - Only two options for their banchan (side dishes) Overall: Daesung has a very nice outdoor dining setup and tasty noodles! read more

Okay after coming back here with a group after some slight convincing, I'm convinced this place really is a solid spot, not that my original opinion really mattered since the yelp community as a whole really loved this place. Ordered the paejun, the spicy soft tofu noodles and the spicy pork dry noodles, and loved all the items here as they were all extremely delicious and hearty. Please excuse my first review I honestly was just irritated by the bibim mandoo dish, but everything else at this place is really great! read more

GREAT SERVICE & HEARTY FOOD My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant on Yelp, since it was listed as one of the top choices from Kalguksu. I've been looking for a place that sells this dish and decided to go to this restaurant. We came in at 11AM, and the restaurant wasn't full expect from a couple of people seated, since it just opened. The interior was modern and has a minimalistic vibe to it. When we just came in, the waitress automatically greeted us and led us to a table. We were seated in a table that was meant for four and she asked us if we wanted ice water. Our water was delivered to us shortly after that and we placed our orders. The waitress gave us some kimchi and sweet turnips after we placed our ordered. She gave us a stone bowl that had extra kimchi just in case she wanted refills. One of the best kimchi I've had. It was fresh and the flavor was just right. My friend and I devoured all the side dishes. No wonder they sell their own kimchi! The waitress also asked us if we wanted refills on the tulips when she noticed the plate was empty. After munching on the side dishes for a while, our kalguksus came out. I ordered the signature kalguksu, while my friend ordered the spicy seafood one. We tried each other's broth. My broth had a fish cake type of taste to it. It was really refreshing and felt so clear. The noodles were somewhat thick and you can tell by the texture that it's handmade (like the dish's name). I added some spicy soy and black peppers for a kick and wow the difference! This would be a good dish to get if you're sick and need something warm and hearty to eat. Somehow the noodles were hotter than the broth. Even tens of minutes after eating, the noodles still didn't cool down. My friend thinks there is some food chemistry behind it and they used a certain type of ingredient or technique, so the noodles can contain its warmth. After we finished our kalguksus, my friend and I was stuffed. Before eating I was not sure whether or not I would get full, but when the noodles came I realized how big the bowls were. This restaurant had one of the best services I've received and the food was REALLY GOOD. It's worth every penny considering the quality and quantity. I would come here again! read more
So first and foremost I genuinely had to think about writing this review because I almost don't want more people knowing about this spot because it is SO GOOD, just like the other reviews said the Seafood pancake was illegally good, everything we ordered was too but in a world full of seafood pancakes where you can't taste the seafood boy did this stand out especially with the bonito flakes, I don't know how else to explain it but it tastes like really good takoyaki? Everything we ordered came out fresh and was extremely flavorful from the banchan to the actual dishes themselves, the portion sizes are also generous for any group especially mine that eat a lot. The place itself looks very modern and comfortable, when we entered there weren't many people but we were greeted very kindly by the service staff and brought to our table right before the dinner rush, throughout the entire meal they were warm, joking, and pleasant. If you really wanted me to describe this place in a short sentence; The food here is good for your soul. It's hearty, heavy but light and made with love. Please come here. read more
