Just another buffet... I have been hearing hype about this place since it opened, and finally a couple years later I made it over here. When I made my rounds I was excited. The food looked great and there was good variety. When I sat down it was a very different story. The food was bland, and seemed to be of really low quality. I'm a big guy and a sucker for a good buffet, so we thought we'd give this place a shot. First off, I'd like to say that the service was excellent, especially for a buffet. The servers were very attentive to drinks, plate removal and even making chit chat, making my family feel very welcome. Kudos! The food, while tasty wasn't anything that made my mouth just explode with Oh-my-goodness-that-is-so-good-I'd-eat-through-the-door-to-get-in-here good. There just wasn't anything that I tried that was memorable. At the same time, I didn't eat anything that made me think that I made a mistake walking in the door either. I find the food here to be great. They have a vast variety of food, unfortunately they have fried foods as the main source so finding healthier foods here was a bit difficult here aside from the salad bar. There sushi bar is absolutely great as it is made by one chef who is always visible. They have a great dessert table and ice cream that you scoop yourself. I have one main issue issue here. The tables are so high! When I am sitting down I notice that my elbows are noticeably higher up from my chest than any other place I have been too. I haven't tried the hibachi portion because it is always packed with people, but it seems to be great. I recommend this place if you're nearby and if you go here on a Sunday make sure to come during an unusual hour otherwise you'll have to wait. read more

Great selection. All the standard dishes you find in a Chinese buffet AND more. They had sushi, a grill where you choose the noodle type, veggies and meats and a person grills it for you. They also had American dishes. The dessert selection was descent, and they also had some fruits and salads. All this for under $10 on a Sunday evening! The place was clean and the seating was ample. The Food was good today. The Hibachi grill was decent. Almost close to Benihana. Be careful if you have a 8.99 coupon for dinner, because they will try to discount the total meal instead of adjusting the subtotal. By adjusting the subtotal you will pay the proper amount in tax. I've been a customer for this location for a few years now. The owners supposedly changed. I've always heard about people getting sick from eating here. I never did. But tonight I got my silver ware and I don't know what was all over it but it was nasty white with the consistency of mashed potatoes. The fact that it was rolled up in a napkin means that it was on purpose or the person wrapping it was not paying attention. At this point I started thinking about how dirty everything else is and could not enjoy. What really blew my mind is they didn't off to reduce the tab. That is it for me. Daily Buffet is the worst excuse for Chinese food I have ever seen. The food is disgusting and unappetizing. Everything I tried was over cooked, tough, and chewy. The chicken tasted like it had been sitting in the kitchen for the past 3 weeks. 20 minutes in to my meal I felt like I was going to puke. I had gotten food poisoning and upon going to the bathroom I discovered it was just as bad as the rest of the establishment. Disgusting. There was only 2 stalls that didn't have toilets filled to the brim with feces, urine, and toilet paper. The bathroom smelled like something had died and been rotting in there for days. Terrible service , the lady wouldn't let me get my own ice cream and when I got it it was thawed out and not even cold enough. The lady said they don't allow anyone to get their own ice cream but this sounds like a joke to me. The cooler isn't even up to code and not cool enough to hold the ice cream. Just tried the buffet. I love Chinese food but didn't find anything here that I would want to eat two bites of, other than the egg drop soup. Tough chicken, soggy fried food, vegetables that are falling apart from being either over cooked or having died of old age before being cooked. This is a great buffet. It has plenty of choices. Food is good, price is a little on the high side. My main complaint is the service. They don't give refills like at all. You literally have to bed for a drink... It's so bad that I just get up and go behind the servers station to get me and my families drinks. The quality of this restaurant has steadily declined over the past year. It doesn't seem to matter what time you go in the food is always cold. People walk out consistently without paying so much there I was harassed to pay for my bill before I was even done eating. Then I had an upset stomach after my meal. I would recommend that people find another buffet. read more

We decided to stop by here for a late lunch. I usually try to avoid buffets but we were a little on the hungover side and wanted to stuff ourselves stupid. It was pretty nice inside. The fountain in the front is cute! The staff were all polite and friendly. As for the food... I don't expect much when going to buffets. I wasn't blown away but I wasn't disappointed. There was a large variety of the typical Chinese buffet food. The hot and sour soup was pretty bland. I did like the great selection of fresh fruit. I had a lot of mango. If you want to eat at a Asian style buffet, the Teppanyaki Grill on the East side is the place to go! It's a great price, and there are always $1.50 off coupons for dinner and $1.00 off for lunch. I love to get a big plate of mei fun noodles, beef medallions, bean sprouts, and extra garlic at the Hibachi station. They also have good Wonton Soup. (good broth with thick, hardy wontons) The Crab Rangoon are pretty good, but the Potstickers/Dumplings are hit & miss. True, the Sushi bar isn't on the same par as say Naked Tchopstix, I-Sushi, or Sushi Club, but its usually fairly good (albeit small). And who can say no to some chocolate ice cream or rainbow sherbet?!? :) Please don't think this place is disappointing like it's sister location on the West side. It's not. Two of us went in mid afternoon on a hot Saturday. We were seated at the first table inside the doorway of one of their seven large seating areas. We tried moving to a larger table further in the room and were immediately challenged by the pseudo-waiter (also known as your beverage/bill bringer only) who asked how many were in our party. When I said two he said we couldn't sit at that big table and moved us to a smaller table further into the room/closer to a large family with several loud children. There were seven empty large tables in our section. Multiply that by seven sections and they would have to have been all of a sudden overrun by 49 large parties of four or more in the middle of a blazing hot afternoon before they would have had to move us to a smaller table but he forced us to move anyway. All the sections look old, tired, dirty, dark, and with very nasty, stained old carpeting, dim lighting, and dirty broken window coverings. Our rule quoter/enforcer never came back to take away empty plates, offer us beverage refills, or to give us our bill but he sure showed up magically at the register with our incorrect bill when we went to pay. The majority of the food at this buffet is over-salted, over-sauced, covered in shiny goo (which tells me how much MSG they use), and not as the signs say. I sought out at least somewhat healthy options but broccoli beef, broccoli chicken, and snow peas chicken for example all had extremely little of any meat and almost all vegetables, again shiny, over-sauced and over-salted. I make excellent Chinese foods at home. It doesn't have to look or taste like theirs. Many of their offerings are fried - potatoes of various sizes, fried rices, dumplings, crab rangoon, beef swimming in who knows what juices, nasty looking allegedly Chinese soups, miscellaneous chicken parts covered in fried batter and sauces (that make you leave inedible, unrecognizable bits on your plate) and similar unhealthy choices. They do have some sushi and an unmarked I guess Hibachi grill where you could select your meat and veggies but I was wary with their health score of 82 out of 100. Spend your hard-earned money elsewhere (dinner for two adults totaled almost $27!) and forget this awful, dirty, mediocre buffet. read more

We drove thirty minutes to this buffet, we parked there were so many dirty people hanging around the building to get in, we stood at the door, it took two minutes to seat us then it was next to a family with very active children and a crying baby but there were plenty of other places to sit except their seats to the benches are all worn down, they should be red but they are more white from the break down and wear and tear, it was a huge eye sore. We walked to the buffet on their wet floor without any signs, I have a cane and a brace so it was scary for me but I was careful. We got back to the booth which is too low and there was a bar holding up the table that dug directly into my knee bandaged up. I tried a first and second bite of food which I was choking on the hard clump of meat, it took four attempts to swallow and a sip of FLATTT cola to get it down, I almost spit it out there was a slight hint of chemical or soap inside the glass. I called the server over and told him we were not happy with our experience, he walked away and a lady manager returned with the nastiest attitude saying the rest of the customers are happy so she won't recognize us not being satisfied and wanting to leave, we needed to pay her for the plates of food and drinks we hadn't eaten and we could go, if not she was calling the police. I instructed her to call them because I have given her several things that are not correct but it is messing with my disability to have my knee shoved into that bar just to sit in the booth. She tried to stand over me and yell at me demanding I pay for at least one meal and drink and I got up and told her I will wait outside for the officers I don't want to stay with the bar in my knee nor where she tried to embarrass us like we were doing something wrong because we chose not to stay and eat. The officers called me and told me when they were on their way, I told them on the call I didn't want to leave and it make it look like I did something wrong without them saying it was okay to leave since she followed me to my car like she was going to harm me so I stopped half way there and stood she got mad that she couldn't get my plate number because she couldn't determine the car I drove. I told her and them I will stay and wait to talk to them. The gentleman showed up and came to my car, he was so sweet, told me she calls them all the time for unhappy customers it is a civil matter not a criminal matter, he said we were free to go and he will tell her that we had not done anything wrong, this is not a crime and he told me to leave reviews and report her to the BBB. I will NEVER return to that horrible place, with service like that I'll pass. However we went across town to another similar buffet, we were treated wonderfully, the food was hot, fresh, floors were dry, tables instead of booths, and I told everyone about them being awesome so this lady missed out on new customers with her behavior that matched those torn up booths... Don't waste your money, buyer beware. read more

The food was very fresh (which was surprising for it being 3:45pm and a buffet) and the service was great! Price is good for how much food there is to choose from and there's something for everyone, even picky eaters. Went to the grill on Washington. Food was good and fresh. I really like the variety of choices.

The food is not good. The shrimp was undercooked and hard to peel. Mash potatoes were so watered down they were soup. All of the meat was tough and like it was being used a second or third time. The loman did not taste good. The only thing I found that I liked was the fried potatoes. Everything else needs improvement. The place is cleaner but oh my hire a new cook. read more

Holy crap. An amazing chinese/japanese buffet on the east side of Indy? No way. But yeah, it is. That was my first impression at the Teppanyaki Grill. If you were new to the east side you would never know that this restaurant is in a former Frank's garden store. The interior of this place is quite lux- mahogany, granite, fountains, etc., and not the cheesy kind you see in other asian buffets. The food selection is AMAZING. Not only is there the typical chinese buffet fare (general's chicken, beef & broccoli, etc.), but there's a full sushi bar and hibachi. Normally I'd expect to pay close to $20 for this level of buffet, but it was ungodly cheap! $6 for lunch and $9 for dinner! I know that I'll definitely be back! read more

Nice selection of cakes, cookies, and ice cream for dessert. Great sushi section. And the hibachi grill is included with your meal. You know you're at the right place to eat when you see more than 50 cars in the parking lot. Hands down the best buffet I have ever been to. Not only is it good food but its fresh. How do I know its fresh? Because they have at least 4 members of the staff walking around the buffet stations and their sole job is to check on all the food and keep it stocked. All the food is great! The service staff were quick to keep our tables clean and glasses refilled with whatever drink we had. The atmosphere and decor was great. It's not that you feel like your in a fancy restaurant but they did a great job and then when you leave you realize you paid under $10 a person. Talk about great dining experience for the bang of your buck. read more

This place is my mother in law's favorite Asian restaurant. It's located behind Starbucks on East Washington. There are a variety of Asian cuisine mixed with American dishes. The food is always hot and is replenished pretty quickly. read more

Shame eating at its finest. Everything here is OK. That may not sound like a strong endorsement, but it is what it is. It's one of the better giant all-you-can-eat Chinese buffets in town. It's well managed, usually very clean, and they do a great job of keeping the food stocked and fresh. I never realized how spoiled we are as American people. The wife and I were hungry and she wanted one thing and I wanted another.... Oh no what do we do?? We can't decide on one of the 1000's of restaurants in our 10 mile radius. So the wife looked up buffets on Yelp and found this place. It was perfect. It had a mix of American, Chinese, sushi, fruit, hibachi, etc all for the same price. Drinks are $1.60 separate but that is better than $3.20 at some places. I highly recommend this place. Ever since the unfortunate events there about a year or two ago it's kind of hard to trust the place.
