My "weekend" is Monday and Tuesday, so I wound up here on what is "my" Sunday afternoon (aka Tuesday) in the middle of running errands. If there was a lunch rush, I missed it since I came here around 2 p.m. My waitress Allie (who was fantastic, by the way), informed me that it was happy hour -- and that meant $2 mimosas! They even come in multiple flavors, so when she said grapefruit was one of them, I was sold. And these were good mimosas too -- not weak like you'd expect for $2. I hadn't initially planned on having breakfast... I stopped there because I saw they had mac and cheese, and that's my kryptonite. But once Allie told me they served breakfast all day, and I already had a mimosa in hand, I decided to change it up a bit. She told me they're known for their Cap'n Crunch french toast, which sounded intriguing -- except I get tired of sweet breakfast plates rather quickly. I really just wanted one slice to try, so I was pleasantly surprised to see you could order just one piece as a side! So my whole order ended up being side plates, haha. I got one piece of the french toast, a side of EXTRA crispy bacon, 2 scrambled egg whites, and sourdough toast. First off, I love places that 1. follow directions, and 2. make bacon crispy without burning it. Honestly, I'd rather burnt bacon than floppy bacon... but these guys made it perfectly crunchy without burning it at all. Props for that! The scrambled egg whites were okay, but I'm pretty picky when it comes to eggs so that's more on me. As for the Cap'n Crunch french toast, it was good, but the coating was more powdery than I expected. I expected, well, a crunch. But this was definitely good, fluffy french toast that wasn't heavy, and I'd definitely order it again. When the manager brought my bill, he included a peanut butter cookie since it was my first visit, and that was such a nice touch! I look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu -- you already know I have to come back to try the mac and cheese. read more

Had a few errands to run in the area so I stopped in for old faithful (cap'n cluck bowl) as usual did not disappoint. The captain crunch French toast eggs and honey sriracha chicken tenders never fails to deliver. My only real issue is the chicken tenders seem to be getting smaller and smaller. Aside from that i can think of anything. By far the best diner in Tampa. We go anytime we're in the area, I suggest you do the same. read more

The food was great! I ordered oatmeal and toast. It was hot and the toast was warm with a great chewy texture. My grandchildren loved their fruit and two others in my party said the burgers were outstanding! Only downfall was the noise and the crowded seating area. This is place is a great place to eat! We didn't know where to eat breakfast and we looked up breakfast places this was the first recommended place. The place was really packed but we got lucky and there was seats at the counter we were able to sit at. The food came out in leads then 10 minutes. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! I honestly was thinking this place was overrated. I came 3 different times and 3 times the wait was over 45 min. I wasn't expecting much being that the menu doesn't look special let alone the restaurant it's self. Don't get me wrong it's cute but I didn't think much would come from the place. Well they proved me wrong big time This last time I went the wait was still long but lucky for me I found a spot at the bar. & honestly it was GOOD LUCK! Great breakfast place here. I came here due to a recommendation from my friend. I ordered the breakfast bowl called The Lox. Mines came with scrambled eggs, smoked salmon, potatoes with scallion cream cheese. Very good breakfast bowl. I was able to try a sample of Chef's Famous Cap'N Crunch French Toast. Very good. I recommend ordering that. I couldn't stop eating it. It was one of the most popular dish as I saw the waiter delivering it to many of the tables. I should have ordered that. It's a diner but not a diner. I grew up in New Jersey, where diners were king. Let's call Daily Eats a luncheonette with a patio. Famous last words-"I'm not that hungry." He said that after devouring a Meat Omelette. Ginormous portion of all things ham,Sausage,bacon etc. with sourdough bread and side of home fries. I had a Mexi-burro. Ham cheese omelette tightly wrapped in a tortilla . Crispy home fries and terrific coffee. Got full eating 1/2 of that monster; Mr. Not that hungry tore into the other half. Mixed review here. Arrived Sunday 6/30 for brunch. Approx 10:30. We were added to the wait list and told that it would be 15mins. Fine, no prob. At 11:04 I receive 3 text messages. 1st is that there is a table. 2nd is asking if outside is okay. 3rd is that we've been removed from the list. I go in and ask for clarification. She said the messages were sent and that I had 5 mins to reply or give up my place. I showed her my phone and that all 3 came through at the same time. Her reply; "I sent it 5 mins ago". I get it, they just came through. All at the same time. Fine, whatever, we still want to be seated and she said she'd put my name back on the list. I ask if we were going to be put at the back of the line. She says, " I'll put you back on the list, it'll be a few mins ". Mind you there are now 25 people waiting. We just wanted to know if the wait was 5-10 mins or another 1/2 hour. She never said. We waited another 15 mins. We sat outside. Service was quick. Item I requested is no longer on the menu and isn't marked out. I order the Eggs Benedict ..ask for the chef to please break the yolk. Poached hard. Order comes, runny eggs. I scrape them off and wait for her to come check on us. 15 minutes and no sign. I finally flag her down. Her comment "well I did put it on the order". Yep, totally not blaming you. You didn't cook it. However, as a former server I know that you verify before bring out the order. I was nice to her and asked to please have 2 new eggs, please break the yolk. Also needed more hollandaise as all of it covered the 1st set and now I didn't have any. Gentleman brings out 2nd set of eggs, no hollandaise. Walks quickly away. Put one of the eggs on the plate, cut into it and it's runny. Scrape it to the side and check the second. It's doable. Server never comes back to refill bevs or check on us. Benny was also missing the red pepper flakes. However the avocado smash and bread were great: Should have just ordered the avocado smash toast because that's what I had, just for the price of the Benedict. My friend had French toast and potato's and said they were good. So, if you go, be careful with the text system and watch your phone. Don't expect a refill or your order to be correct but what you will get will taste pretty good. If I'm back in Tampa, we may go again. Not sure yet. read more

I gave it a three because the young lady at the counter was just not a good server. She was very negative and a bit lose with remembering to serve my potatoes that just sat while she talked to the other employee who was doing all the stocking. I have been here before and gotten GREAT SERvICE to do I just had someone who was more conserved about talking about what she was doing outside of work rather than actually working. Maybe she should be doing the stocking rather than being a waitstaff. My last server is the actual one who had gotten me the coffee I had asked for to go while my waitress continued talking. The hostess was nice enough to let me know that there was a long wait. But since I was by myself, I could try to find a space at the bar. Once I got my food, I waited 10 minutes for someone to come check on me. Even though there were several employees running back and forth in front of me. I had no silverware to eat with. No butter or syrup was brought for my French toast. And by the time I got them, my food was cold. I ordered the New Yorker of eggs Benedict with a side of fruit and a side of French toast. The food was ok. I can only imagine how delicious it would have been when it was hot and not cold. The manager and waiter did apologize after I complained. This breakfast / lunch eatery sports a number of breakfast "bowls", the latest in trends for breakfast establishments that mounds the finished product in delectable layers of deliciousness. I tried the cap'n chicken bowl I believe it was called. Home made fried chicken, scrambled eggs, and French toast rolled in Capt. Crunch cereal crushed up. O.M.G.!!! So incredibly delicious, and the French toast didn't need any syrup as however they prepared it the taste was sugary enough. Daily Eats...I still love you. I have been here many ltimes in the last 10 yrs or so, but not in recent years. I always think to come for brunch on the weekends and it's just too packed. We went on a Sunday evening and walked right in and got a table. I had the Breakfast Fiesta bowl and the hubs had the Meaty Bowl. Both were fresh and amazing. Service was great and very fast. I've been here a couple times and it's been pretty good, but today I ordered breakfast through Uber eats and it was so greasy I couldn't eat it. It was dripping in grease from top to bottom, including the bagel and the egg whites. It was an expensive breakfast so I was pretty annoyed. Had lunch here yesterday with my wife and son. The food was fresh and delicious. And, a great value based on how satisfied we all were after our meal. I had the Greek shredder bowl, my wife had the Thai peanut shredder bowl and son had a steak and eggs bowl. We also enjoyed the two dollar mimosas as it was 2:30pm - during their happy hour. I love how they have a build your own omelette section (or you can build your own breakfast bowl!!). We sat outside on a Sunday morning right when they opened at 8am. * Our sever was great, I believe it was Patrick. My parents had never been and he explained the menu in section and what was popular on the menu. I built my own omelette with turkey sausage, mushroom, spinach, green pepper and egg whites.
