I was a bit indecisive about what to order, & her suggestions were helpful. She recommended I squeeze lime on my salmon tostadas & I'm happy she did because it was so yummy! Daily Gather was a nice casual opportunity to meet up with some friends and enjoy outside Houston before it gets crazy hot. This restaurant has seen several changes from all sorts of different cuisines, but I think this one so far is my favorite. We went more for happy hour and really love that they offered a charcuterie board with a bottle which I think is an awesome combination and it was at a great price. Full disclosure I don't like the meats so we opted to skip those in exchange for more fruits and vegetables and another cheese. I love that they are flexible enough to do this for us. Service was OK. I think there was a lot going on the evening that we were there so I'll let it slide but will absolutely be back for the board and bottle Happy hour option. It was 10mins from my hotel, I didn't want anything fancy but something nice (yeah yeah, I can be particular ;) Easy parking too. We were not greeted warmly at the hostess stand since we did not have reservations at 11:30. We were told we would have to sit outside which in all honesty was better for our party of 9 which included 4 children. Our server made up for it though as she was very helpful and accommodating. Waters with lids were brought right away for the little ones. The Lavender 75 cocktail was so light and refreshing with just the right touch of lavender. The kids' food came out first which was so nice! From the brunch menu we chose the Venison Hash. What a great selection! Came here for a date night to celebrate ring day. I was trying to find a new good oyster place on the level of state of grace, but not as far, and I think this place was it! Spicy margaritas was strong, I got both the gulf (30 a dozen) and east coast (36 a dozen), and both where decadent. Ambiance is light and modern but romantic. Since it's the new year, my dietary restrictions and wellness goals are putting a small damper on the foodie scene, but my waiter was AMAZING. After explaining my needs to him, he double-checked on everything with the kitchen to ensure ingredients and a friendly-food experience. The oysters were clean and fresh. (Per my friend who is the oyster eater). The deviled eggs...southerners and their deviled eggs. There's a chalky texture that I couldn't quite put my finger on. We arrived at 4pm, left around 6pm and saw our waitress about 4 times...that's a horrible ratio. We only had 1 appetizer and 2 drinks. She never came back to see if we needed anything, never came back to see if we wanted to order an entree or additional appetizers. We asked for our tab, and another waitress closed us out. We had pancakes (first order came out with strawberries, second with bananas and no pecans, and tasted like... well, nothing. (The side of bacon was good). BLT + Avocado, ordered without tomato - came full of tomatoes. (Side of bacon was good). Caesar salad was extremely small portion size for the price. It was nearly a side salad & lots of lettuce and not much else. Oysters were just okay, but the price for 1/2dozen is 2/3 the price of a dozen?? We were 4 adults and 3 kids ( age 6 to 8 ) and they were seated us in a very nice semi private section at the end which was perfect for us with 3 loud kids . Our waiter was very nice and patient. The food was really good and exceed my expectations. Overall we really enjoyed our time and the food and it's not always easy to find a restaurant which make it easy for parent when they are dining with 3 kids . We made reservations on a Friday for dinner and got a beautiful table next to a window. Although the place was well populated, it felt very intimate. The food was spectacular, we had the burger with bacon and fries, and the steak frites with fries. The burger was massive and was full of delicious flavor. The steak frites had a garlic butter that was to die for. The fries were perfectly crispy. We thought there could have been a bit more fries but after our dinner we realized that everything was perfectly portioned. The steak was cooked perfectly and the east coast oysters were very fresh. However, it was seasoned so well I didn't mind it. The potatoes were spicy. And soooooooooo good. We choose seat outside on the patio so the kids could run around and play. The decor of the place is nice, however I had a very slow and unsatisfying service, the food was mediocre, I had the steak with broccolini, a harvest salad and a latte. The broccolini was so hard that I almost hurt my teeth biting into it, asked to get another side of broccolini a little softer, but it only arrived after 30min of waiting. My lady and I attended yesterday as new comers. Came in and greeted very well as we looked at the menu to see if we wanted to eat there decided yes. We sat down. My lady went to the restroom. There's a few things that were on there she picked the Fritz they were OK I didn't want french fries I didn't come to restaurant for french fries I came to a restaurant to eat something different but when I asked about the mushrooms and another dish, the server was not fond of it. She just wanted us to order french fries. During this time we had water my lemonade was empty or whatever you wanna call it not once did the server come up and ask us if we wanted anything else to drink or refills. We went through the menu. I had the braised mushroom risotto, which was very good. My counterpart had the spaghetti with meatballs that was really spicy and again was not explained by the server. Again, no refills or questions until it was time to pay the tab still glass lemonade still empty. The girl asked if we wanted anything else and we said no we're going to carry on the girl had an attitude the entire Time and seem like she didn't even care if we were even sitting there or not so long story short is food is subpar service was horrible and maybe they should learn how to make lemonade without a lime. read more
