They've been open for a week and finally got to try it last night. We got the Katsu platter, Korean chicken mini, and lumpia and it was all good. I feel like the negative reviews are all for service in the first few days they were open. They were very friendly last night and checked on us and the manager asked us how we liked the meal and thanked us for coming in. I believe the staff is still getting trained and learning the menu (pretty huge) so it'll be about a month before they're fully operating. Definitely worth the try! read more

Aloha is hot I was greeted. I was like is this Da Kine food. Always looking for Hawaiian food that tastes local. Upon moving to Oceanside, we have tried a few different Hawaiian places. None of them just doesn't hit me right. Coming from the islands you want to taste the essence of the island food I have to say we were not disappointed with The three entrée plate that we got. As everyone knows, the price of a meal everywhere has gone up, and portion sizes have gone down. It didn't appear so on my visit to Dalu yesterday for lunch. I can usually finish a big lunch meal since I usually skip breakfast, but at Dalu I ended up asking for a take-home box. The Katsu Curry was tasty, and made for a nice snack later as well as when I ate it at the restaurant. I make my own Musubi, but usually try it when out at a new to me place that offers it. So I got some to go for later, and Dalu's SPAM Musubi was really good. Ratio of rice to SPAM were spot on and it looked like they employ the same flavor trick I do, which is add a little Miso paste between the SPAM and rice! We ordered 2 combo plates. All meats tasted re-heated and chewy except for the Katsu Chicken, which was good. The price would be fine if the food was better quality. The macaroni salad was tasty and not runny. Service was ok but it appears much more supervision is needed! In addition, the soft drinks are also over-priced. They just opened up so hopefully they improve but they really need to figure out their organization and serving time... it takes them 30 minutes or more to get the food out to the customers. The first time I went, it took 30 minutes because they didn't realize they had given my order accidentally to someone else. They were good enough to quickly put my order together. This time, Friday evening, 50 minute wait on a hawaiian burger that my husband ended up asking a refund for. It wasn't good. We'll stick with the bbq. I hope that they can figure it out because that wait time! You may as well do some grocery shopping at Ralphs with the time you have to wait to get your order. read more

The food here was delicious! We wanted something light and my husband got the spam musubi and I got the veggie lumpia. The sauce for my lumpia was a little spicy and sooo good. The girl working the register was super nice and accommodating and came to check on us and ask if we needed anything which I thought was super sweet. These guys not only have incredible food, their customer service is outstanding too! Unfortunately there was a miscommunication from one member of our party, but the staff still went above and beyond to make an item that wasn't even on their menu for them! Service was completely lacking. They didn't know what the food was spiced with, specifically the Korean chicken. When questioned, I got attitude and was told "we just opened, we have to have time to get to know our menu". I would thank that would be done in training. When taking the order, the person was distracted and almost missed the order completely. Spent more time talking with other associates and not understanding what we were asking for. Came with no katsu sauce and no cabbage, chicken was overcooked, and found several bones in the meat. Bulgogi Fries was soggy because fries were cold and way undercooked. Macaroni had way too much mayo and no taste aside from the mayo. May try again because had in the past when they first opened and was decent, but there are other more consistent options in the area. read more

I hope they make it. But our first impression: price too high for what they serve - over $19 for a plate. The Korean chicken doesn't have a Korean flavor - it's sriracha flavored. Walked in at 10:20am this morning was charged 3 times for my order and had to be credited back twice and I was the only person in the place. Took 35 minutes to finish spam & eggs plate, Portuguese & eggs, and 2 musubi order. Offered me a bag of chips for them taking so long to make my order. The food was terrible, rice was all mushy, eggs were bland, absolutely no seasoning. Spam was bland as well. Asked for over medium eggs and they were over easy. I asked the manager questions about the menu and he started to talk to me as if I were an employee. He was completely rude to us and the employees. No customer service skills ! Imagine trying a new restaurant and wanting to already walk out the door before trying the food. The food itself was OK. I think L&L is better.
