There is pretty limited seating so if you want to study here you should go in the morning. I also love the matcha einspanner here it's one of the best I've had. This is definitely a grab and go location-- very small interior, low tables, and incredibly loud on busier days, making it difficult to study in. One of the best matcha/tea drink I've had. I got the matcha and hojicha einspanner . You get to choose your milk (regular, almond, or oat) without extra cost. Get oat milk if you don't like the milky flavor! The matcha was smooth and paired well with oat milk. The cream on top is on the sweet side and perfectly whipped where it was not too stiff or too runny. I recommend drinking it without mixing it first to taste the tea. The hojicha is just as good if you like a more earthy roasted flavor and the cream is flavored with hojicha too I think. Overall, although it's my first einspanner, I had a very positive experience and would totally come back! On the other hand, the place was medium size but can fit like 6 parties? A little compact. Damo is within this small plaza on 8th street, across from several new apartment developments. Their menu consists of coffee and tea based drinks. It kind of also incorporates traditional Korean elements within their drinks. I rarely drive here because street parking can be a nightmare and the plaza is always filled with cars. After 6PM, the lot converts to valet, I believe. Luckily, I live walking distance away so it makes getting here less of a headache. I tend to like their tea based drinks. I like their matcha lattes, matcha einspanners, hojicha lattes. Lines are always long in their small shop. I usually come around 1 - 2 PM to avoid having to wait too long. Their coffee drinks are alright, nothing special in my opinion. S has been meaning to try their dagwa (traditional korean desserts) but it was sold out when he was interested in it. Seating is always limited here though and I find it difficult to score a seat to enjoy the drinks and desserts in-store. Damo to me, is good to try every once in a while. Their drinks are on the pricier side to justify coming here regularly and sometimes, it's just such a long wait for one drink. read more

I waited around for a couple minutes before snagging a table that I lager shared with some other guests who would couldn't find tables. Be wary of parking given it's a small plaza (management can't control that) but there's plenty of free parking cross the street. Only rated 4/5 stars bc I didn't get the "dine in" experience as the location was a bit loud with minimal seating. There's no music that plays, but the volume control (lack thereof) of the patrons take away from the "studying/working" environment you'd typically expect from a cafe. Matcha Latte and Hojicha Einspanner were both incredible! If you like the more earthy bitter flavors this is for you - I could tell they're using excellent quality ingredients. If that's not your thing, would recommend ordering one of the flavored drinks which are probably sweeter. I also got a matcha chocolate croissant and a pistachio croissant. Staff very kindly warmed them up and served them with cutlery. Both were delicious but not the best of all. Flavors were fairly muted in both. My party of 3 only wanted a light snack and to visit this place while we're in town so we ordered the mugwort waffles. I loved it, it was unique! The texture is similar to a mochi donut. I like having the cream and red bean on the side, they paired well together. The waffles stiffened after sitting a bit so eat them while they're warm! DAMO is a cute space in a plaza with a lot of parking, and if you come early enough you're likely to not need to wait long for your drinks. Logistically, it's not too bad for a popular KTown coffee spot. In our last visit, we got the Hojicha Einspanner and the Mango Cream Matcha, and both were delicious- for the first half of each item. The Hojicha Einspanner has a lovely, herbaceous flavor that works well with the cream top. However, even after the cream is mixed in, it is heavy and tooth-achingly sweet after a couple of sips. It's a lot to handle, and is likely best split between 2 people. The Mango Cream Matcha is also so thick and heavy that the staff needed to warn us about it. It's as if you're eating a parfait or a frozen yogurt. Because we were warned, I don't knock it at all for its heaviness, but how they enable you to drink this item. The straws they have aren't wide enough to capture the fresh mango chunks on the bottom unless you're sucking with a lot of force. Everything else was coming through smoothly in the straw, but not the mango portion that we ordered the drink for. While delicious, the effort required to drink it was unnecessarily high. read more
