To be honest i was disappointed with the matcha... Why is this so hyped? I definitely prefer rok, airoma, vivot
I went to Damo around 2pm on a weekend, and the line was already starting to form out the door. Unfortunately, the line takes up a majority of the cafe space, along with the few sitting tables, so it was pretty difficult to find a spot to wait for my drink after ordering. The pickup area can also get blocked by the line or waiting area, which can make it a little awkward when you're trying to reach over someone to grab your drink. I ordered the Coconut Hojicha and the Matcha Einspanner. The Coconut Hojicha was refreshing, nutty, and definitely the standout of the two. It's such a fun twist on the typical matcha coconut drink, and I have to give Damo their flowers for creating something that feels unique. The Matcha Einspanner wasn't particularly stand-out compared to some of the other cafes in K-Town, but it was still a well-balanced drink with a nice mix of bitterness, sweetness, and creaminess. I can definitely see why so many people consider Damo one of their favorite cafes. Despite the crowded setup, the drinks are creative and thoughtfully done!
Absolutely obsessed with the Hojicha Coconut! This drink is DIVINE, so refreshing, creamy, and delicious. I could literally drink 10 of these! It's definitely a must-try, and I already can't wait to come back for another one. The cakes were just okay for me. I'd probably pass on them next time if I'm just getting something for myself, but they would make a cute gift or present for someone!
Matcha strawberry einspanner really good and creamy You can taste the matcha but it blends beautifully w the strawberry puree and cream top.very crowded when we stopped by. Not enough tables and no one was wiping them down either so it was sticky. Accepted apple pay n cc with no additional surcharge. Drinks came out quick and parking was free.
We ordered the Damo latte - an espresso shot with agave sweetener and the Matcha cream top. The espresso flavor wasn't terribly strong and the matcha tasted alright to me There was a long line of customers and it's a pretty popular Korean drink shop in Koreatown!
Solid matcha place in ktown!! There's so many places around and it's a saturated market so I get the competition... but this place holds its own! Matcha is rich and bold, there's a good amount so it's not weak. Milk ratio is good so it's not diluted at all. The cream top is nice and thick and doesn't melt into the drink! Matcha Cream Top ($7.75)-- I looooove me a nice and thick cream top and this place does it amazingly. It's thick and perfectly sweetened and doesn't melt with the drink/ice. It stays perfectly thick and still and above the matcha unless you mix it in. The matcha is also really nice and rich. None of the bland or grassy taste. Just genuine good matcha! Chocolate Forest ($7.75)-- Basically same as above but the cream on top tastes like Milo/Ovaltine mixed in. It's a nice and sweet nostalgic taste. Not a hint of bitterness so if you want mocha/dark chocolate this is not the one for you. It's more happy kid hot chocolate vibes. Overall I really like this place for their matcha and would get it again. Pricing is steep but all good matcha goes for around $8 nowadays. Theres a shared parking lot (free if you go in the afternoon) but otherwise street parking.
got the strawberry matcha!! the cream top was delicious and so glad it didn't make the entire matcha drink heavy bc i just wanted something sweet and refreshing! the service was nice and quick! got my drink within 5-7 mins after ordering!! the inside was on the smaller side and it got busy/crowded fast so recommend getting your drinks to go!
Pretty solid matcha spot that I'm more willing to go to now that the lines have died down :) We got the iced matcha latte and matcha einspanner, both half sweet which was the perfect level. Drinks come out pretty quickly too! There is a moderate amount of seating for socializing or studying. We came on a Saturday morning and were lucky enough find a parking spot in the lot (which is shared by a lot of places including the new bakery Out of Ordi)
I stopped by DAMO and ordered a matcha latte. The matcha had a vibrant, earthy flavor that was stronger than most matcha places I've been to. I appreciated the quality of the tea, and the matcha powder and cream on top was not too overly sweet. My friend and I were able to enjoy our drinks inside the shop, as there were plenty of tables available for people to chat with friends or study or work inside.
Visited this spot on a Wednesday at noon and they constantly had a flow of customers coming in and out. There's only a handful of tables and chairs with some stool seating against the front window. Ordered a matcha latte and I kind of regret not adding the cream foam after, but it was already a $7 cup of matcha. Upon mixing and tasting it left a bitter aftertaste so I didn't really enjoy it. I added two packs of raw sugar to try and alter it but I probably should have asked for sweetener or cream top because it still left a bitter aftertaste. Service was lackluster, not warm and friendly, but pretty straightforward. I was able to snag a parking spot in the lot but it wasn't plentiful as the plaza is busy shared with the salt bread shop.

My new favorite spot for decadent matcha and hojicha drinks! The cream top on the hojicha einspanner was so creamy and thick, and it was also the perfect level of sweetness. The strawberry matcha einspanner was also yummy and had a great presentation The space is pretty small but there are a few seats available. The line was around 20 minutes long on a Saturday afternoon. Like most spots in ktown, the parking lot is limited and you'll likely need to find street parking, but it is definitely worth the hype!

DAMO is the best cafe ever. We got the spiced winter latte and matcha latte. The staff is so friendly (me) and the drinks are freshly made. I definitely recommend if you're meeting up with a friend or needing a quiet place to study! read more
The ambiance coming in is very relaxed and just very straightforward coffee shop. The cashier was very patient and kind ( I was being indecisive about the pastry I wanted). Finally our drinks were amazing ! The Strawberry Einspener was awesome. Its very much a elevated strawberry milk. The sugared creamy foam was amazing The strawberry pieces at the bottom of the drink were great. Just over all balanced and pleasant. 10/10 would recommend. My only disgruntle was the pastry I had. It was buttery, flaky and very soft. The chocolate is great although the matcha was overwhelmed completely by the chocolate. The pastry was a overly "eggy" it took away from how amazing it could have been but I'm hoping it was just a one time deal I will definitely stopping by when I'm in the area and I can't wait for more. read more
I was in the area with a friend and we decided to hit this spot for a quick drink. I got a mango/ matcha drink which was really good, only problem was that the drink was really small and was $7. Had the drink either been bigger or a bit less expensive, this would be a go to spot. I still recommend this place to give it a try. read more

This matcha spot is super cute with a lot of different options for matcha lovers! I decided to get the strawberry matcha. We got there pretty early so we got our drinks in a timely manner. It had a nice matcha flavor combined with the strawberry flavor, but I struggled to mix some of the strawberry chunks in order to not be drinking just the strawberry part. There is a ton of parking. Overall, Damo is a great place to go to if you love matcha!! read more
The best matcha latte I've found so far in LA. I appreciate how they sift out the clumps before preparing the tea, making the drink super smooth. The matcha latte actually isn't too sweet and I would highly suggest getting the cream top. I paired the matcha with a matcha chocolate croissant which was just alright. DOMA is definitely more of a grab-and-go kind of cafe; the seating is a bit limited. The cafe itself is pretty small and gets busy so I don't imagine working here to be very productive. read more
Ordered the hojicha einspanner and wow!!! The Hojicha itself has a water base but is extremely creamy and flavorful with a roasty taste. The cream on top was a pleasant element to the drink. I also ordered the mugwort waffle. For someone who hasn't had mugwort, it's very earthy and a bit savory. Delicious with the red bean + cream. Free small parking lot. The inside of the cafe had ~6 tables and was pretty quiet. read more
If I were ever in the area I'd definitely visit this cafe again. It's clean with nice seating, and the teas are quality. Very impressed. You can tell that they put care into their tea selection. I like they little sampler of Korean confectioneries. read more

DAMO is good. When we got there on a weekday afternoon, there was parking available, which was appreciated. The Matcha Einspanner tasted like just matcha with some cream on top. It did the job. I liked it! read more

Wow! After a long hospital shift, randomly walked in here on a good rainy, cold early evening. Three people behind the counter hustling, making such great works of art. May I add delicious, too?! Ordered the popular Einspener Matcha. So creamy, so worth the wait. Accompanied by the Earl Grey Dogima Row Cake. Full-house. Nice group hang out. Great place to get some work done if you can find a table. Mamá mía! Keep up the great works everybody. Great k-town add-on! read more

5/5! The BEST matcha in LA. Matcha is soooo good. They have different flavors of cream you can add on top. All of them are delicious. But the matcha is the real star of the show. Its amazing. I've also tried the hojicha and coffee. Loved it! There's a parking lot that usually isn't full on weekdays. It can get crowded on weekends, but DAMO is worth the wait. Service is good. The space isn't huge but they have a good amount of seating. I see a lot of people studying there. They also have a bathroom The ambiance is very nice. It has a bright, clean, and minimalistic atmosphere. read more
An adorable little place. The music was quiet and everything was very calm considering how many people were there. I wish I was a tea drinker because the little trays of teapots and cups would have made me feel like I was a fancy bitch. I don't like sweet/flavored coffees but their Damo Latte was killer. Just a hint of honey was enough. Can't recommend it enough. Their espresso machine's brand was Slayer. That's cool. read more
Maybe I'm just a sweet tooth, but I didn't think Damo's matcha was good. My friends and I came here to try their matcha specifically and it just wasn't what I expected. The waffles were also unimpressive, but again, I think I was just expecting something sweeter! This is definitely a preferential view, I can tell they use good quality matcha powder in their drinks. The hojicha was good, it has a full taste and the cream top compliments it well. The strawberry was the sweetest thing we got and it was good also. The chocolate forest was interesting, the flavors paired well with each other (and here's me asking for sweeter matcha again...) The cafe itself is super clean, full-on LA vibes. the cafe is quite busy but the line moves fairly fast. i ordered a chocolate forest & my friend ordered a cold brew einspanner. the matcha quality was 10/10 & the coffee bean they used for the cold brew was also 10/10. i would definitely come back! read more

Drinks: 10/10. Love this strawberry milk and matcha drink. The cream on top is sooo good. Not too sweet, just enough sweetness. Service: 7/10. It was super busy when we went so taking our orders took long. Ambiance: 6/10. Wish there were more seats. Overall interior is modern and chic. read more

My boyfriend and I came here once and we fell in love. Tsk Tsk. He always gets a coffee, and I always get a matcha. Perfect pair. The matcha was amazing especially with the foam top. I definitely will come here more often. It seems very nice as a study spot as well! Hope to come back again soon read more

LOVE this place! Damo is one of my favorite places for matcha in LA. Normally, I'm not a fan of sweet matcha lattes--the sweetness makes the matcha flavor weird--but at Damo, the sweetness is delicious! I got the matcha einspanner, which almost tastes like melted green tea ice cream. So good! The interior is clean and modern, but if it's busy you probably won't find a seat. Also, I would pass on the dessert set unless you're a big fan of traditional Korean desserts. Looking forward to returning soon! read more
matcha & latte einspanner or einspencer were aight. $14+ for two sweet milk slay and I think it's overpriced. There is free parking at a designated parking lot. Inside is crowded, we had to wait a few minutes to find a seat. 4-5 mini tables, not the best study spot. It seems to have at first started as a tea speciality cafe. - Matcha Einspener $7.25 - Hojicha Einspener $6.75 - Dagwa Sampler $4.25 Oh me, oh my My friend and I both enjoyed our drinks. The quality of the tea was PHENOMENAL, and the cream top enhanced it even more. The cream top wasn't overly sweet and added the perfect amount of creaminess to the drink. We also ordered the dagwa sampler, aka assorted Korean traditional snacks, which include dried persimmon, honey biscuits, freeze-dried dates, and rice cakes. The dagwa set was ok, but I probably wouldn't order it again. If I lived nearby, I would be a regular here for their drinks. I highly recommend visiting this place if you're looking for a cafe in Ktown! @eatwamburger read more

Damo is such a cute, fresh coffee shop! Located in one of the only plazas in Ktown where parking is free, it's a great place to grab a drink and chat with friends for a while. I've also worked here, but seating is limited and it's on the louder side so it might not be for everyone. Their most popular drinks are the einspanner lattes (hojicha, matcha, strawberry). Everyone should try at least one of them--the cream on top is so delicious! They use the same cream for dipping with their traditional Korean snack plate. The employees here are always super smiley and welcoming as well. I'll definitely be visiting again and again! read more

Parking: Free parking lot. Lots of availability in the early morning but probably gets more full in the afternoon/evening. Food/Drinks: My ultimate favorite hojicha latte in LA! They can unsweeten it all the way, making the hojicha flavor much more pronounced. Serving size was rather small though. Variety of pastries and waffle also looked super delicious. The mugwort "Damo" waffle is a must-try if you love mochi texture and earthy mugwort flavor. Ambiance: Super bright and clean interior. Only two outlet power strips at the very beginning and very end (largest table) of the wall. Wifi was pretty stable and seating was comfortable for long work hours. Gets super loud and line is practically out the door around 10-11am. Bring headphones! Service: Cashier was super sweet and drinks/food only took a few minutes to be ready. read more

Wowow amazing. I really like the aesthetics of the interior, really clean and it just looked so pretty. I got the hojicha einspener, matcha einspener with oat milk, and the signature "Da-Gwa". The matcha einspener was solid, nice matcha flavor and not overly sweet at all. Butttt the hojicha einspener was the star of the show. For sure the best hojicha I've had, super rich and strong yet refreshing flavor. The "Da-Gwa" is an assortment of traditional Korean snacks which included injeolmi, dried persimmon with walnut and cream cheese, traditional honey biscuit, and some seasonal specials. I enjoyed trying all of them and I would say the dried persimmon was my favorite out of the bunch. Of course, the presentation was A1, the customer service was good, and the cafe felt nice and peaceful early in the morning. Pretty limited seating, and I can definitely see how it can get crowded really fast, so come in early to get a table if you're planning to stay for awhile! read more

This is the perfect cafe for teas. Although theres not that many seats on the inside the dessert and teas here are amazing. I tried the strawberry and hojicha eispener- my favorite was the hojicha. I also tried the silver needle tea and it was brewed really well. The dagwa set was just ok-i probably wouldn't get it again. They just tasted like regular rice cakes and basically from the store but Overall i highly recommend! read more

The mango matcha was a tiny bit too sweet for me but my partner loved it especially the cream on top! They used fresh mango purée with mango pieces. My strawberry matcha was super creamy, the matcha is very concentrated, not watery at all. They use strawberry purée with strawberry pieces. Super delicious. Small place, it was full when we got there on a Saturday around 5pm but luckily found some seating. Clean aesthetics. Service was nice too. Only if it wasn't that expensive though would come back because it was really good but would kinda hesitate because of the price-size ratio. (But Their matcha latte was better than coffee mco. Mco matcha latte was kinda watery and very light matcha flavor in comparison to this place.) read more
Matcha Cream Top - My friend is a matcha lover and REALLY loved this matcha. She let it sit for 3 hours & it wasn't super watered down. Matcha was strong, but not so strong that it wasn't bitter. Black coffee cream top - First time having this drink, I liked the thickness of the cream! This taste more vanilla, I personally enjoy sea salt cream more. Atmosphere - My friend and I came on a Thursday morning around 9am, and it was very good for working! There are outlets at the end tables, and the tables are pretty big so you can put your laptop food there. Parking - AMAZING. Great. Has a parking lot in ktown, couldn't ask for anything better. Service - Quick and quality! The workers are super sweet! Would go back here again. read more

This is easily one of the best matcha drinks I've ever had--definitely in my top three. I drove 45 minutes just to try their signature matcha latte, and it was completely worth it. The place was small but really cute, though it did feel a bit crowded inside. I ordered the matcha einspanner, and it blew me away. I've never had anything like it before. The crème top was rich and delicious, and the matcha itself was perfectly sweetened and creamy. I'm already looking forward to coming back for another one. read more
I got the hojicha einspanner and matcha einspanner. They were both so good! The creamy and salty top was so good with the rich, earthy teas. I liked that the tea flavors were strong. I also got their signature dagwa, which is a collection of Korean snacks. I loved the variety of the snacks and they were all so yummy. The cafe is pretty small and crowded, though. There's limited seating and the drinks take a while to come out. read more

DAMO is so good. Except for the parking, but that's not their fault. We got the matcha mango latte, hojicha einspanner, and the mugwort waffle. PLEASE get the hojicha einspanner and the waffle. It's so good. If you like nutty flavors, you will love them both. The waffle comes with lightly sweetened cream and red bean paste, and it's just the perfect combination. The hojicha isn't excessively creamy, and has great flavor as well. The matcha mango was a bit too sweet for my taste, so I would skip it next time. The seating is very limited, so if you're coming to study, or talk with friends, I'd try to come early. read more
