After browsing through a few options in the area, Damsot was the pick for a weekend lunch. For parking, I parked a few blocks away with metered parking and walked over. It was definitely crowded as there was not a lot of free spots at the time. Upon arriving, it was moderately busy in the store with a few tables opened. Was able to get seated right away for party of two. There was two menus available at the time. One was standard one with plenty of options that focuses on pot rice. The other one was a summer menu that had soba as the focus for the base. The summer menu was interesting but the standard menu was what drove me to visit here. My girlfriend got the steak pot rice, while I got the eel pot rice. Once the food arrived at the table, the staff also gave us instructions on how to properly eat the pot rice. There was also a written instructions available at the table. Overall, both of the pot rices were amazing! While I enjoyed the eel, I would say the steak one tasted a lot better. When it came to the scorched rice soup at the end, I'll admit it wasn't my favorite considering I don't enjoy barley tea. However, I can definitely see the appeal and the scorched rice also gave a nice crunch throughout the meal. Great concept and amazing food! American Express is accepted here.
We stumbled upon this place on an online search, and it did not disappointment. My friends and I all got their steak pot rice, and it was comforting and flavorful. The steak was tender, and it paired well with the seasoned rice and toppings. One of my favorite parts was the crispy rice left at the bottom of the pot. Adding barley tea to it and eating it at the end was a nice touch. Service was great and attentive. I'd definitely come back!
If you can find another restaurant in Los Angeles, where you could have real abalone for dinner under $30, let me know and I will buy you a dinner! I've heard about Damsot from my foodie friends; they praised about the rice hot pots here. Nice high-quality white rice is steamed in a small pot with your choice of proteins (beef, pork, eel, eggplant, and abalone, just to name a few). When it is served, you mixed to rice, scoop it into the serving bowl, and you pour the tea into the rice pot to enjoy a rice soup later! The whole set includes an assortment of kimchi's, a small cup of miso soup, a tiny bowl of salad, and a cute little yogurt drink at the end. It's a lovely dining experience! I've been here a few times, and I was say the steak, eggplant, and abalone are the top three choices! These pots take a while to make so if you come at a popular time, you may need to wait a while. But service is very tentative and they let you know how to enjoy the meal if it's your first time. Price is super reasonable, most sets are under $30. Some of them are under $20. Very small place so I would recommend you come early if you don't wanna wait too long for dinner. And they do validate parking if you park under the building.
New concept to me for a clay pot rice. We ordered the steak one and the abalone one. Each dish it basically a procedure to get your meal together. While I appreciate how good is made, I feel like it's overpriced and makes it a gimmick. Like they charge you more to put your food together lol and it's just a clay pot of rice w your meat. I'm glad I tried it but I'm okay not going back. I wouldn't pay valet parking for this.
This was truly a unique culinary experience! Damsot is pot rice with a specific sequence of preparation at the table. Interacting with my food this was very exciting but all I could think of was, "After all this, I hope this dish delicious." Was it? It was!!!! We each had our own set - beef, spicy eggplant with pork, & steak. Flavors for each were distinct and delicious. I would definitely come back when we're in Korea Town LA! Service is friendly. Our server described what we had to do patiently though instructions were printed on a sign on the table. The dining hall is clean, uncluttered, and casual. Very unassuming that a simple place would bring such an extraordinary dining experience.
DAMSOT specializes in freshly made Korean pot rice, and I love that the meal is an entire experience from start to finish. We tried: Spicy Eggplant Pot Rice Steak Pot Rice Pork Belly Pot Rice Eel Pot Rice They were all super tasty, the spicy eggplant was definitely my favorite! The best part is making nurungji at the end and they give you a yogurt drink too.
What a dream. We drove all the way across town without a reservation, on a busy Sunday evening and we were seated immediately. Our food came out hot and quickly. I was so impressed with magic of this place - so easy to have such a delicious and affordable meal so quickly in Los Angeles K town. It was a nice, quiet and cozy ambiance, great for a date night. And to top it all off, even if we hadn't somehow gotten curbside meter parking during free parking hours, they validate parking for the parking structure. Just go. It's amazing.
Located in the Brown Derby plaza you can get your parking validated here. After a long day, this place was such a great warm comfort meal. The wait staff was very thoughtful in showing us how to have the best dining experience, and were very kind in explaining the menu. I ordered the spicy eggplant rice & the pork belly riced. Both were flavorful and hit the spot! I would definitely come back here again. Another plus for me was that I went a bit later on a weekend evening and there was no wait!
I came here on Valentine's Day because we spontaneously decided to go to LA and did not have any reservation. The wait was about 20 minutes which is not bad at all especially considering the occasion. I got the steak pot rice which, supposedly, they have a limited number of each day. The steak was sooo tender, and it tasted really good with the egg too. I really liked the sweet sauce in the rice as well. Before eating, they advised us to take all the toppings and all but a thin layer of rice out, then pour broth into the pot with the thin layer of rice and let it sit until we finish the stuff we took out. Unfortunately, I was not a fan of the broth crispy rice because I don't like my rice wet, so I wish I didn't put the broth in. But I think it's worth trying? The banchan was really good too, especially the spicy squid (?) and salad. My boyfriend got the beef belly pot, and I thought that one was just alright. It was a little too fatty and sweet imo. I do wanna come back to try the other options like the salmon and spicy eggplant. Service and ambiance were really nice, they gave us a frozen yakult at the end, and I felt like a little kid once again.
I visited Damsot with a friend to try their steak and spicy eggplant pot rice. After hearing so may good reviews, I really did need to! They do have parking and validation if needed, though there are two big parking structures nearby, so parking isn't an issue! Once you walk in, you're greeted by light brown, woody interiors, and the light only makes it ever more relaxing. The staff were attentive with getting orders in. After placing down our orders, they walked us through how to enjoy their pots. We later learned that our sauces were missing, which for steak was a HUGE game changer! For the most expensive and premier item, we really expected a little more... maybe it was a busy night, though there were no lines. The spicy eggplant pot rice was tasty and probably my preferred of the two. Something about an eggplant with chew... nothing beats it! The steak was a bit on the tougher side, cooked a little over medium. For both pot rices, I felt that the entrees were a bit weak on flavor, almost as if it was "too safe." Unfortunately, neither felt too exciting to eat. My favorite part of the meal was probably the miso soup and being humbled to really use that tea to finish off the charred rice. (I may have been rebellious and overzealous in trying to go at it raw... dog.)
I've known about Damsot for a while and last had it in Korea, so I was excited to finally try their LA location in Ktown. Four of us shared a few different pot rice dishes: abalone, beef, eel, and spicy tofu with shishito peppers, plus some fried appetizers. The abalone was my favorite: thick, tender pieces with abalone liver, roe, sesame, and all wrapped in seaweed. The flavors are complex and umami, but without being too heavy. The beef was richer and super satisfying with egg yolk, butter, and scallions, while the eel had a nice sweet-savory glaze and slight char. The rice itself was cooked really well, especially the crispy layer at the bottom. The spicy tofu and shishito pepper pot rice was actually the boldest of the four, with a generous amount of tofu in a familiar Korean chili sauce. Mixing in the egg yolk helped balance out the spice and richness. I just wish every pot rice came with seaweed for wrapping. The fried shrimp and eggplant fritter was a surprise favorite. It seemed to be a mix of shrimp, eggplant, and chives, with a crispy coating and a juicy, flavorful center. The tangy creamy sauce paired really well with it. It does get a little rich, so it's definitely better for sharing, but that didn't stop me from finishing a whole piece LOL. Overall, Damsot is casual, comforting, and perfect for sharing with friends. We all left very full and happy, and the little probiotic drinks at the end were a cute touch. Would def go back!
Great deal for a great lunch or dinner! For around $20 depending on which pot rice you order you get a tasty rice bowl, barley tea to make scorched rice, miso soup, a little salad, some tiny sides, and a little yogurt drink. I ordered the eggplant set which was good, but would probably want to try one of the beef ones next time. We also ordered some shrimp tempura and it was perfectly lightly panko battered and fried to perfection- crisp but tender. Service was quick and to the point, atmosphere is busy. There can be a short wait depending on what time and day you are there, so don't come to close to closing time or you may not be seated.
My friend brought me here to have some lunch because she said it was so good and I had to try it. And she was right! Once we arrived, there was parking downstairs which was validated for a portion of the time. Once we got upstairs to the restaurant we had to wait maybe five or 10 minutes while they were clearing up the table then we were seated. Once we were seated, the staff introduced the menu to us and explained how to enjoy the entrées. I ordered the beef and my friend got the salmon. It comes in a cute set with a couple appetizers and soup. And overall it was super tasty and I can't wait to come back and try a different entrée again.
Went to Damsot for the first time recently. The seating was pretty quick, but just a heads up all members have to be present in order to be seated. The food is delicious. It was hard to choose I was stuck between the eel, steak, or sukiyaki. I ended up deciding on the steak pot rice. The meat was tender and juicy. I especially loved it with little dabs of wasabi, it really brought out the flavor. Parking was pretty easy there is a structure downstairs and it's only $5, but make sure you get your parking validated. read more

When I heard they opened a Damsot in Ktown, I was super excited to try as I missed the opportunity to try when I was in Korea. We ordered 4 different pot rice bowls: steak, abalone, pork belly and spicy eggplant. The steak and abalone were light, not as strongly flavored/seasoned. The steak came with a sauce that tasted like A1 sauce. The spicy eggplant pot rice had small pieces of pork. The eggplant and pork belly were more heavy and marinated. Honestly, if the pork belly wasn't marinated, I would've enjoyed it more. Personally, the flavors were too strong. The point where stars were marked off the most were that the rice was very mushy(?), or the water to rice ratio was way off, they put too much water in the rice that led the rice to being close to porridge or congee. With this type of clay pot rice, it's essential for the rice to be firm and chewy. Unfortunately, I noticed for the pork belly and the spicy eggplant, the rice was too watery. However, the rice for the steak and abalone was fine. I took off points for the inconsistency as a place known for their pot rice, and specializes in the nurungi and rice dishes, they should be more consistent with the base, the foundation of their dish. Another negative point was that as the dishes with pork, such as the pork belly and spicy eggplant, were very greasy. At the end, where they give you the tea to pour in the pot, and you eat it when ready, two of our pot rices were visibly oily. Normally, with clay pot rice, it's supposed to be a "dessert", a finale to finish up the meal with a clean aftertaste. But instead, it was a satisfying taste but left with a disappointing, oily taste. The aesthetic and concept of this restaurant is nice, and I can't speak of the branch in Korea, but this location in ktown definitely has parts of improvements that I would like to see before I think about visiting again. It was a good experience as I filled my curiosity of this place, but I don't think I would drive down here for this. read more
I like when places mix tradition with modern touches, Dam-sot is like that and a good candidate to be my favorite Korean spot in La. I know they are known for either eggplant pot rice or steak pot rice but I felt like fish and something different and went with eel pot rice. It is a fun experience although i messed up the sequence of what to mix with what and when to pour the tea inside the rice but team is super nice and attentive and they will help you with that if you like :) small side dishes were great compliments, fish was super tender and yet chewy as well as the rice at the bottom of the pot. paid about 40$ all in. Next time i am in La definitely looking forward to going back and trying other dishes read more

Damsot is known for their stone pot rice bowl. Parking is hard to find since you are in Ktown! However, there is a parking structure and they do offer validation but I think we still pay about $5. I was very excited to try out this place since I love anything with rice. My husband and I ended up ordering three stone pot rice to share. We got the steak, fried chicken, and spicy eggplant. My favorite was the eggplant. The eggplant mixed with the sauce, meat, and rice was delicious. The stone pot does come with soup, salad, and some small banchan. The fried chicken was harder to eat but lucky they give you an extra bowl, however, you couldn't mix everything together since the pot was too small. We also thought the steak was okay. We would come back for the eggplant for sure. The service was so good. One of the server was there teaching us step by step how to eat the rice in the stone pot and what to do with the tea. I didn't really enjoy the crunchy rice and the tea together as I did separately. I also thought the portion were on the smaller size but it gave us more reasons to try more. A good place to come if you want Korean food that's simple, comforting, and well-presented. The focus here is sotbap, Korean pot rice - and every menu comes out looking very pretty on a tray with side dishes and a pot of hot barley tea you can pour into the pot to make nurungji tang (scorched rice soup). The restaurant is cozy and clean. I see the staff is always helping first-time visitors, explaining how to enjoy each menu. I've tried the Steak, Eggplant, Beef Belly pot rices, and the Fried Shrimps. I like how you get a balanced meal here -- a choice of protein, rice, and vegetables, all thoughtfully arranged. That said, I ended up taking off a star because several things leaned sweeter than I expected -- the sauce mixed into the rice, the salad dressing, and even the steak dipping sauce were all on the sweet side for my taste. I didn't really enjoy the nurungji part either because the pots don't really produce enough crispy rice at the bottom to make a satisfying nurungji tang. And since the rice comes with various sauces, the resulting soup is not as clean and toasty, like what you'd get at BCD Tofu house, for example. Still, it's a nice spot if you're in the mood for an easy, comforting Korean meal in a cozy setting. read more

Nice little Korean restaurant located in the brown derby plaza, with $5 parking lot in ktown. Their presentation is fun with the metal pot coming in the little tray and the interactive experience of making your own nurungji. We had the spicy eggplant pot rice and beef belly pot rice. Though the food was pretty decent and staff was very friendly, nothing crazy to write home about, but still worth visiting if it's been on your bucket list. read more

I came here on a Friday night with friends, and these bowls made great comfort food. The interior was cozy and casual. We were quickly seated and the staff gave great service. I ordered the spicy eggplant with pork and cheese, and my boyfriend ordered the steak bowl. Another friend ordered the rice bowl with fried chicken which gave the most generous serving of all. Each bowl came with a small miso soup, some sides, and barley tea meant to pour into the hot stones remaining crispy rice. This process gave a smokey rice barley soup that you could enjoy at the end. read more

Had this restaurant on my bookmark forever, and it did not disappoint. We got the beef loin pot and the spicy eggplant. Every dish came with bonchon, salad, and barley tea to pour over the crusted rice as a "dessert" after your meal. Be careful pouring the tea, the top of the pot came off for my friend, and it splashed all over their clothes. [Beef loin 5/5]: We really enjoyed the beef loin. The beef was tender and all the flavors just tasted so good together. Essentially it tastes like a gyudon. [Spicy eggplant 3/5]: I felt like the flavors for the eggplant was ok. I wish it was more spicy and flavorful. The eggplant could've been more soft, and the pieces could've been cut into smaller pieces too. Overall, I would definitely come back to get the beef loin pot again. I would recommend! read more

Damsot has an incredibly fast and efficient reservation system. Go in, write your name in the wait list and go outside and wait a bit. My wait was 15 mins at most. They keep everything moving very efficiently. Service is fantastic, everyone from the host, to the server, to the food runner and even the busser were great. The Steak Pot Rice is usually limited to 15 for lunch and 15 for dinner but I was able to order it and I quite enjoyed it. The barley tea to be poured into the stone pot with the leftover rice still in it makes for quite a cool after-meal soup. We even got Yakult-style probiotic small drinks with our check after the meal was over. Great experience with short wait times, great staff and fantastic ambiance (the inside is very clean, well lit-up and nicely decorated). read more

Just went to lunch here with a friend. We arrived around 1:30pm and there was a small wait---maybe about 3 parties ahead of us and a 15 minute wait. I've been wanting to try this place out because I remember having something similar when I was in Korea a few years ago. This place is phenomenal. I ordered the Beef Beansprouts Pot Rice and my roommate got the Pork Belly Pot Rice (it wasn't on the menu outside but the menu they handed us when we sat down had it and said it was a new item). The service was quick and the food came out just as quickly. My meal was so good, I ate EVERYTHING. It was a perfect portion, and the scorched rice with barley tea was the perfect way to finish. The meal itself felt healthy and clean. I was very happy with my choice and can't wait to try the Salmon Pot Rice next! I tried my friend's pork belly and that was also very delicious and clean---not oily and greasy at all like how pork belly can sometimes be. Before we paid, they gave us 2 yakult probiotic drinks. Side note: Don't be intimidated if you're wondering how to properly enjoy the meal. They have instructions at the table on the napkin holder. A server will also ask if you've been to the restaurant before when serving your meal and explain exactly how to eat everything. Parking hack: we parked in the City Center lot across the street where the Hmart is because we needed to get some groceries after. They offer 3 hours free parking with validation (it's near the 1st register and you just enter your license plate number and you're good to go). read more
I've been to Damsot a couple times now and I love it! Everything runs very efficiently at this new (open 6 months now) KTown hot spot! They're so kind and smart to explain to people exactly how to eat stonepot rice ~ sotbap! Teach the world, y'all, I love it! This is actually a chain from Korea and I'm guessing this explanation is a special new edition for our LA branch - their first in the US! And I love that this has become such a hot spot that people are loving. But just know you may need to wait a long time to dine here, but may also get lucky like my friend and I have with just a few minutes wait. I'm really happy Los Angeles is loving sotbap! Their salmon stone pot rice is phenomenal. Everyone loves the Spicy Eggplant pot rice and we also liked it...but I liked the salmon better! It came so properly cooked with the most crisp outside and tender inside. Plus, a whole bunch of salmon roe which made the entire dish so juicy when mixed together. All the ingredients in their bowls felt very high quality and fresh which should be noted. Nurungji should end every meal haha But this truly is a great meal and very filling. We also had the fried eggplant & shrimp which was tasty, as well. I don't know that I'd get it again but it was an enjoyable try. I had leftovers of the appetizer & the pot rice! Minimal design inside but the food is good, the staff is great so what more could you really want!? $5 Parking in the Brown Derby Plaza garage with validation or scope out street spots! Oh my goodness, I almost forgot that they end the meal by giving you a little yogurt drink for dessert~ I felt like I was a kid again^^~ read more

We came on a Saturday night for dinner because we saw this place pop up on our social media feed and were intrigued by the pot rice. Arrived around 7pm and we only had to wait about 10 mins. They had us order at the counter prior to sitting, which I assume is to expedite the process, and it did because we got our food quickly after we got seated. It was very spacious inside and seating was sparse. We got the steak pot rice and spicy eggplant pot rice. Some steak pieces were not so tender and the spicy eggplant wasn't spicy. Our rice was burnt on the bottom and wasn't the nice crispy rice you'd expect with pot rice. Though overall the food was good, it wasn't anything to wow about. Parking in Ktown always sucks, but luckily this spot has a lot. It's $5 valet only on weekends though, or you can opt to self park in the structure for $20 too. read more

Spicy Eggplant This flavor was recommended by my friend and it's really good! It's fragrant and spicy, and goes well with rice. I think I'll choose this one next time and make it even spicier. Steak This is their popular one. Big chunks of beef with eggs, sesame, and scallions. It's hard to say it's not delicious, right? Haha. I don't really like the steak sauce they serve on the side. It's a bit sour and not my taste. It's still better with mustard. Mackerel This is mashed mackerel that has been fried until fragrant, mixed with rice, and can be eaten wrapped in seaweed. It's also very flavorful! Every meal can be turned into a soup-rice dish by pouring the soup over the rice. Each meal comes with a side salad and soup, and they are all very distinctive and not disappointing at all! After the meal, they gave us a very cute Korean version of Yakult. I also want to take a few Dubai chocolate cookies away, they are really delicious. It's easy to sell out on weekends, but it seems easier to buy on weekdays. It's a small and very cozy Korean store. read more

I ordered the Eggplant pot rice and the presentation was really nice! There was a good balance of eggplant and ground pork. Not super flavorful, but it's good once fully mixed. First time having Korean scorched rice and it was delicious and such a fun experience! Each order came in its own tray with miso soup, barley tea kettle, a small salad and side dishes. The small tray of side dishes included kimchi, pickled radish and raw marinated squid. Steak pot rice ($27.99) - Extremely tender filet mignon cubes cooked to a perfect medium rare. Came with an A1 dipping sauce and a ball of mild wasabi to eat with it. I thought it tasted best with both. Adding the barley tea to the scorched rice in this pot tasted better than the eggplant pot rice. (9/10) Eggplant pot rice ($18.99) - Buttery and stir fried eggplants with a hint of chili. Was super yummy with the pork bits and sticky premium rice. Chili flavor didn't go too well with the barley scorched rice after but it was not bad. Went last night for dinner around 8:50pm. Upon walking in, the wait staff looked at the clock and seemed a bit flustered, unsure if she could seat us this late (even though the restaurant closes at 930pm, not 9pm. The place was pretty empty. Ultimately she told us we can sit but we'd have to order right away (which was fine since rhe menu is small). We ordered the spicy eggplant (vegetarian version) and the steak, the eggplant shrimp and chicken karage appetizers. At 9:10, we were asked to pay for the food before any food even arrived, (and our Yalkuts were placed on the table at the same time) which felt incredibly rude and rushed. The server was nice to show us how the crispy rice pot worked (mix and scoop out of the pot. Pour hot tea and cover). In terms of taste, the chicken karage was okay, it was fried darker than i would've liked. The eggplant shrimp didn't really have much flavor and was incredibly greasy (though crispy!). When paired with the tartar sauce it tasted like a filet-o-fish from McDonald's. The steak bowl was okay, nice teriyaki flavor. The vegetarian spicy eggplant left much to be desired...firstly the texture was very unpleasant. It felt undercooked in the way where you really had to bite and chew--ie not the pleasant silky eggplant texture you'd expect. Secondly, the seasoning was a bit underwhelming and had the acrid aftertaste of burnt garlic. The best thing on the tray was probably the miso soup. Overall, the restaurant does not live up to its hype, and I cannot in good conscience recommend it to others. read more
Got the spicy eggplant bowl -- wasn't very spicy, eggplants cooked well (not mushy), and it does come with pork fyi. The beef loin (?) bowl was more flavorful and i would probably order that instead next time. The kimchi is how i like it -- not too fermented. And love that they have a squid kimchi, one of my favss. You also get a small salad and a miso soup. They also give you tea to make nurungji with the leftover rice bits. This spot is such a pleasant surprise. Service is quick and easy. The steak rice bowl was delicious, with tender meat and fluffy, well-cooked rice. Portions are generous, so you'll definitely leave full. I also tried the eggplant and pork bowl, which was savory and comforting. Everything felt balanced and thoughtfully seasoned. A fun detail I appreciated: They give you a yogurt drink at the end to help with digestion. It's small but so tasty, and it adds a nice finishing touch to the meal. There's an attached parking lot, which makes things even easier, especially in Ktown. Great experience all around. I'll be back. read more

Alright. So, I came here for my lunch. It's our first time here. We got seated right away. Service was great, the servers are really good at explaining how to eat the dishes. I got the fried chicken bowl. It comes with rice and veggies. You are told to take everything out and put it in a different bowl and then poor the barley tea into the leftover rice there. The chicken was really good! Very crunchy, flavor was great. Came with tempura veggies. Veggies were also great. I'll be honest, I was not a fan of the barley tea and rice. It was very plain for me. So if you're expecting something seasoned, you may not like this either. It was definitely more like a plain porridge if I have to describe/compare? The ambiance here is very chill, laid back. Everything looked so tasty on the menu but of course I had to have their new pork belly pot rice which was delicious. The place was cute inside and a little small but we only waited maybe 10 mins for a table which went by super quick. The food comes out pretty fast and was perfectly balance in flavors while still feeling light. Everything was delicious and I can't wait to try other dishes. They even give you a nice little probiotic at the end. read more
I've been wanting to try this place since it opened and had a really good time! Service was very efficient at a busy time - first we put our names on the waitlist and then when they were about ready to seat us, they asked us for our orders outside first. I ordered the eggplant stone pot and I really liked it - flavor reminded me of the popular Chinese dish "fish fragrant eggplant" ! The server asked us if it was our first time and explained how to proceed with eating it including the nurungji at the end. Firstly, let me say that the service was very friendly here. The 3 stars are for the food. The concept and presentation of the food was what attracted us to this restaurant. However, when it came to the flavors, we left disappointed. The steak was a little chewy and we felt lacked flavor. The mackerel was nothing special, just what you could get at most Korean restaurants. I think the best dish there is the sukiyaki, the broth was delicious. But the rice pot dishes didn't leave us wanting to return for them. Maybe we just didn't pick the right ones. read more

Damsot has been one of our go-to restaurants now since the day it has started and looking back, i realize i haven't written down any reviews about it! just earlier, my husband and i came back there for a quick dinner! i ordered the eel pot rice and he got the pork pot rice (which was new on the menu). he concluded that his go-to which is the beef would still be his top choice and eel, for me, has been consistently flavorful. ambiance overall was pretty chill. what really inspired me to make this review about Damsot would be their service. servers are very attentive but i would like to give a huge praise on one of their servers Min, which I believe might be the server too that gave us the tips on how to enjoy the pot rice for first timers. he has been very attentive and service is def good! kudos to Damsot and one of their crew, Min! read more

we were excited to try out damsot, but we were more disappointed than satisfied after the meal. i got the spicy eggplant without meat because vegetarian. however, the sides are not vegetarian which i expected from a korean restaurant (kimchi often has anchovies so i stray away from that at restaurants too) i like my eggplant cooked to be on the softer side, so i wasn't a huge fan of the firmer texture. because i could only eat the radish side, it felt like a lot of rice for the amount of eggplant (in comparison to my boyfriend who could eat the squid with his rice). the seasoning of the eggplant was also pretty one dimensional. service was quick though and they give you a yakut at the end! read more

We were really looking for a similar pot rice place to a restaurant we had in Seoul, this restaurant did not disappoint. It's got a wide variety of protein options and truly resembles the traditional plating and process of eating that we had in Seoul. The plating and presentation was beautiful and featured good portions. I left feeling perfectly content with the amount of food provided. Service staff was helpful and respectful in asking if we'd ever had pot rice and even offered helpful insight on the tradition behind eating the pot rice and how to actually eat it. The only negative thing I have to say is the steak pieces were cut too big for me and my friends to chew. read more
