This Korean pocha will always be my fave spot when I visit LA after an event or date. From their fish cake soup, lunch box, snapper sashimi, bossam and of course can't forget the skewers. All yummy and can't beat the price. Then pairing it with the yogurt soju is chefs kiss.

Easily one of my favorite pochas in ktown. Everything is made so so fresh, amazing service, and the food is delicious. The only downside is the wait, but there's plenty of things to do to kill time in the area like the photobooth next door! The wait is definitely worth it. I always bring everyone here when they're visiting from out of town, since it's always so consistently great every time!

Dan Sung Sa is dark and smoky. It is filled with little alcoves along the walls. The grill is at the center with half a dozen cooks rapidly turning the skewers of meat. Is it the spot to start or end the night in KTown? Ddukbokki with Ramen: This massive plate will put you in a food coma. On a giant leaf of lettuce, squiggly elastic ramen noodles stretch to the edges of the plate. The rolled rice cakes are thick and as chewy as bubble gum. Triangles of thin fish cakes offers bit of protein in a sea of carbs and sweet red gochugang-based sauce. For veggies, you get onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, and carrots. If you're still hungry, there's a hard boiled egg. Dumbbells: Vermicelli noodles are tightly wrapped in seaweed with bulbous battered ends. The dumbbell-shaped treats are crispy and chewy at the same time. To take advantage of the great deal on skewers, you need to purchase an alcoholic beverage, which is a smart idea for washing down all this delicious savory food. When you've had enough, pay at the counter in your way out. Parking: The tiny strip mall location has valet. If you're lucky, you might find street parking not too far away.

Dan Sung Sa is a hidden gem located in Koreatown! It's a well-known divey bar with a fun, lively atmosphere that keeps locals coming back. The service is quick and friendly, making it a great spot to kick back and relax. The food is hella good, authentic Korean comfort food that hits the spot every time. The drinks are also reasonably priced, so you can enjoy a few without breaking the bank. The fried chicken was flavorful, but next time I'll ask for the sauce on the side to dip. The skewers are my favorite, they're perfectly grilled and full of flavor. The Korean pancake was hot and crispy, just how I like it, and it's always a satisfying snack. Overall, Dan Sung Sa is a must-visit if you're craving good Korean bar food in a laid-back setting. It's the kind of place that feels like a local secret. Come early or hella late to avoid the crowds!

I love this place! I know it can get super busy on the weekends, but both times I've still been sat at a reasonable time. The workers are so incredibly nice! The service is great! The food is so delicious and for a reasonable price. Specifically, the skewers after you get a drink. I always eat the pork belly skewers and the beef short rib. The best part about it is that they leave the stick out of it, so it just comes as a plate of meat. My favorite is the Korean Tteokbokki with Ramen noodles. It is so well seasoned, and it is a guilty pleasure of mine. It also has many pieces of kimchi. The corn cheese is yummy and great as a side of anything that you get there. They also give you a free cabbage soup to start that is so flavorful in itself! I also love the ambience as well as the decorations and set up of the restaurant

Such a fun spot with an amazing vibe! It's definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of place, which made it feel even more special. The dim lighting added so much to the overall experience and created a cozy atmosphere. Service was quick and attentive, and every dish came out packed with flavor. My favorites were the asparagus bacon, pork rib, and mushroom skewers--each one was absolutely delicious. I also ordered the deokbokki, and wow... it was SO good! Every bite was flavorful and satisfying. Can't wait to come back and try even more from the menu. Highly recommend!

Food: 3.5/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 My friend invite me here to have a dinner and drink. I passed by here a lot of time in the past and always saw a line. Now I get my chance to try it out. My friends ordered a lot of food. I mean a lot. We also had a few pitchers of beer and soju. The food are ok for me. Some of them are pretty pricey for my opinion. I would have to come back here again and order moderately to see what the true cost but for now they are solid 4.

Such a cool vibe in here with really good food. I've been a couple of times and I always get food to share. Everything comes out pretty quick although there's usually a wait to get in! Typically moves fast. The service is friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious. We got so much food last time I can't even name it all haha photos included:)

Probably one of my top 3 restaurants in US ever. when u walk in it's dark and cramped. Barely any space to walk. The seating surrounds a grill and there are tables on the outside for larger parties. I really recommend sitting on the counter. Cool to see the grill. They are quick with the service and everything is easy to order on a piece of paper. To order the $1.99 skewers you must buy alcohol. It is soooo worth it though. 2 people ate till we were stuffed for about $60 after tax and tip. Crazy deal. U MUST GET THE GRILLED STEAMED EGG. I'm addicted and obsessed. Another thing, BOSSAM IS LIKE $15!?!? I'm this economy is crazy. It's soooo good too. One of the best I've had. Comes with some soup and veggie sticks. If you want to order more u just tell the waiters what you want. Surprisingly didn't come out smelling like smoke. Must be some top notch ventilation over the grill. 10/10 must try for food and ambiance. Unlike anything I've ever had in the states.

Some of my friends showed me this place spontaneously and it was good! Their menu has a lot of items on it so it's a little bit of something for everyone. I tried the Kimchi Pancake , Beef Bulgogi with Crystal Noodles , Potato Pancake , Fried Shumai , and the Corn Cheese. All of these had good flavor and decently priced for the amount of food you can get. My favorite was the Kimchi Pancake. Service was decent , our orders were taken fast and food came out relatively fast. Ambiance is amazing. It looks like you're not even in LA. Really good late night spot. Overall , would come again and try more of their menu items!

Our son wanted to go there. Luckily we didn't have to wait at all. We ordered the lemonade soju. We had their spicy chicken wings, cheese omelette, cheesy corn, barbecue chicken, potato and kimchi pancake, pork skewer, spicy and non spicy chicken skewers, nut skewer, shrimp skewer. We liked the pancakes and the chicken wings the best. The place didn't disappoint. The ambience was cool and fun.

I was reading some of the reviews and a lot of them complained about the service, but I actually had a pretty good experience here. The servers were pretty friendly and willing to help. They are really busy so they might be a bit rushed but they weren't super rude or anything. I came on a saturday night around 8pm and a table for 2 was a 40 minute wait. I liked the vibes, and sitting at the bar station was nice being able to see the skewers being grilled. We got the ddukbokki, stir fried kimchi pork belly with tofu, chicken skewers, frog leg skewers, grilled egg skewers, and hot sake. Food was pretty good, it's what you'd expect from a pocha. My favorite was the stir fried kimchi and pork belly and tofu. It was a lot of food for 2 people, and I wish I could've tried some of the other skewers! It would be easier to do that with a bigger group & try a bigger variety of dishes

Dish after dish came out nonstop without feeling rushed. We were seated around 6:45 and somehow finished eating by 7:30, which is honestly impressive considering how much we ordered: caprese, polenta fries, cigars, chicken sliders, wings, broccoli, and cauliflower. The pina colada is top notch they hollow out a real pineapple to make the drink and it's the size of your face! The watermelon cocktail was delicious and there is also a mezcal option. Crispy potato- Phenomenally done fingerling potatoes. Whipped beans- Carnitas on top made this dish. It was fresh, incredibly flavorful, and beautifully presented. The watermelon aguachile was equally impressive, with bright, refreshing flavors that were perfect for a warm afternoon. Prices are what you'd expect for a rooftop hotel restaurant, but the quality and execution make it money well spent. The setting is what really makes Butterfly special. The covered outdoor dining area sits next to the rooftop pool, creating a true resort atmosphere. Once you're up on the sixth floor, it's easy to forget you're in the middle of Culver City. You can disappear from the city below for a few hours and just enjoy the atmosphere. On Sunday morning, after my daughter's wedding, our family gathered there for breakfast before everyone headed home. I had the open-faced omelet with wild mushrooms, poblano peppers, Monterey Jack, salsa macha, queso fresco, avocado, and micro cilantro. It was outstanding. I also sampled my daughter's pancakes and ordered a side of the smashed fingerling potatoes, both of which were excellent. The only hiccup came when the server accidentally dumped my side of breakfast potatoes into my brother-in-law's lap after the chrome fry basket tipped off the tray. He had already eaten elsewhere and had just sat down to visit with us, so it was an unfortunate way to say hello. The staff immediately apologized and brought out another order of potatoes, which was appreciated. Mistakes happen, and they handled it professionally without letting it overshadow an otherwise excellent meal. Overall, Butterfly serves high-quality food that is thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented in a fantastic setting. Whether you're staying at The Shay or simply looking for a rooftop meal in Culver City, it's well worth a visit. 5 stars

We came in during lunch time on a Sunday and there was a quick and short wait time…read more Food: We got Hangari Bossam (Medium) and Milmyun Cold Noodles. Both were very good and tasty especially since it was a very hot day. It was too much food for two people so we took it home. As for side dishes, personally I'm not a fan of pickled things so if you love it then it would be great for you. Service: We were able to take our order while waiting in line so once we actually got seated it felt like it didn't take long to actually eat the food. They were quick and accommodating to requests made. Ambiance: It was nice with music playing while eating. Comfortable dining experience. Parking: It was on a lot that only has valet parking which was $5 cash only. You can do street parking but hard to find since it's downtown area.

I'll make the drive out to LA for this place. Always go when my sister is in town…read more Their bossam is my go-to. We usually get the large bossam and love that they include jowl. I honestly don't know another place that does it. We've also tried: * army stew (4.5/5) * chicken kalguksu (4/5) * clam kalguksu (5/5) * bibim milmyon (5/5) * milmyon cold noodle (4/5) Everything has been good. The kalguksu portions are especially big, and their side dishes are always great. The restaurant is clean, service is fast, and I love the free rice they give you at the beginning with soybean paste on top. Definitely one of my favorite Korean spots in LA.
