Stopped by here while on vacation in SD; didn't expect much from a coffee cart in a touristy part of the park but WOW was I wrong! I am so glad we found this spot searching for coffee because it took us to the COOLEST area! The coffee itself was excellent - I got an iced mocha with almond milk and it was very good. So good I forgot to take a photo ha ha. The ambiance of this area is so cute, lots of outdoor seating, and if you love art there are tons of little studios throughout the Spanish village with various types of art. Cute coffee shop stand on Spanish Villa. Went before the zoo started and it was a great place to get drinks and wait. We were able to bring the drinks inside the zoo too. The blue lady tasted more like black tea and the extra accent did not really come through. You can order the smaller or bigger size since it's the same price ($3.50). It ended up getting hotter outside and they put it over ice for me easily later. The latte vanilla cold foam stole the show. Sweet, but not overwhelming and could still taste the coffee. read more

The most adorable little coffee stand hidden inside Balboa Park! This place is such a hidden gem but it deserves so much more love. The environment is absolutely gorgeous -- so colorful and cheerful -- and the drinks are amazing as well! I got a strawberry horchata latte. Got a smoothie large fruit smoothie for $8.25 (small for $7+). Uses frozen fruit and was pretty good, though a bit sweet for me. In the Spanish Art Village, which is very cute and colorful. Some small tables around the courtyard, but not a ton of shade. I don't like that there's absolutely no menu with prices. Don't like the lack of transparency. Service & drinks 10/10 The girl at the register was friendly and helpful. The menu selection is not very large but they have a variety of items to choose from. It is centrally located in the back of the Spanish Village Art Center in Balboa Park. You walk through very creative and cutely decorated spaces and art shops. The titles leading to the coffee stand intrigued my little one and made it fun to walk to. What we tried: Cookie frappe with the girl said was like the mocha frappe but with cookies! Super delicious and contains coffee this was my drink and I would definitely order it again! Strawberry horchata, super tasty, fresh and such a great blend! My sister enjoyed it very much and I tasted it as well. Definitely a must try! Last but not least the mixed berry smoothie, toddler approved, contains milk and very flavorful. I ordered a "pumpkin horchata latte" and was handed a pumpkin spice latte. I kindly approached the girls making the drinks to fix the wrong order and they rudely replied with "it's the same thing!" While also smirking like their reply was funny. 1. I dont understand why they would offer two different things on the menu if it's the same 2. At almost $8 for coffee you're also paying for customer service, the rude remarks were unnecessary. Best coffee spot. You wouldn't think so, considering it's just a tiny coffee cart, but I came here regularly while working at the zoo and tried most of the menu. Everything. And I mean Everything was Amazing! Flavor profiles are perfect! I loved the cinnamon honey latte (I think it's called a Honey Bee) and the peanut butter coffee frappé! Highly recommend!! This coffee shop is in the arts area in Balboa Park. My friends and I needed coffee so bad and this was nearby. I saw on their yelp photos they had the Korean coffee (dalgona coffee). But the cashier said they don't have it on the menu for the time being. I ended up getting the biscoff latte, which was pretty good. It was on the sweeter side. It needs more coffee in my opinion. But the kind gentleman probably saw that I was so sad they didn't have the Korean coffee I wanted. When we got some of our orders, he came out saying we made this for you. We were looking around trying to find a new coffee spot and decided to try this one. Didn't even pay attention to the fact that it was in Balboa Park. So that being said we had a bit of a time finding parking. I recommend going early to find parking. Anyway when we arrived it was in a small little area of where there is art displays made to look like the streets of Spain. I think it's called Spanish Villa Art Center . Such cute little studios and the pavement with a patchwork of colors. A nice place to sit and talk with family and friends. We kept looking around for it and then said " Oh is a small food truck" I said well we're here so let's try it anyway. You know I'm super glad I did. I ordered the Bishoff Cookie Crumble latte. Wow was that good. It came with a sweet cream on top that was at least an inch thick. Yummmmy. The drink itself was so great. It wasn't milky and I could taste the espresso in the drink. I hate milky lattes. You could taste the flavor it intended it to be as well. The cookie was ground fine and sprinkled on top. My grandson got the Peanut Butter blended drink. I stole a sip and there was definitely peanut butter in there with a generous amount of whipped cream. There was some peanut butter on the rim which he also loved . My daughter got the lavender chai latte and that also was creamy and delicious. I tasted lavender and chai and it was like a hug in a cup. The açaí bowl was pretty standard. I was satisfied with it, but nothing more. The pitaya on the other hand was amazing. It was deeply flavorful and sweet. However both bowls were overpriced. Our server was kind of nonchalant and didn't really help us when we asked about recommendations. This cart is located outside at a very scenic and playful environment. That is our little pitstop when we go visit our friend's art studio there. On our last visit, there was a mixup with a smoothie that we had ordered. We ended up getting the one that had dairy in it as when our name was called, I went up to grab the drinks, my iced tea was there but also the smoothie. I guess I should've asked, but I assumed it was ours since our name was called and they were both sitting there. Anyhow, apparently that was not our smoothie and I took someone else's by mistake, to be clear ours was only supposed to be made with ice, fruit and apple juice and the one I grabbed had dairy. When we were sitting down and enjoying our drinks, I overheard the guy at the counter mentioned to the woman that someone must've grabbed her drink, so I came up and said that I thought that that was ours as he called out our name with the two drinks on the counter. He apologized to her and offered to make her a new one. He asked if I had taken a sip from it and my daughter had started drinking it. I then noticed on the smoothie cup that there was another name written on it. That was my oversight and assumption that both of those drinks sitting on the counter were mine. I think it was just a lack of clear communication on the staffs end and an oversight on my end. My daughter drank a few sips and ended up throwing it away. We like Daniels and will continue to support their business. I am hoping the owners will talk to their staff about this, so it doesn't happened to someone else. read more

I came here to get some work done and I was very impressed by Daniel's! There is no parking, so you'll have to look around and hope to get lucky. It's a cute environment with colorful floors and chill music. Balboa park has their own wifi that has pretty good connection. I wanted a Java chip frappe but saw they also had a peanut butter one too! I asked if they could combine and they said yes! It was just $1 extra. I changed out the milk for almond milk for another .75 extra. It was soooo good. And a good atmosphere. I would definitely recommend! I'll be back. read more

Can't speak on coffee, so this review is specifically for their new (?) pitaya bowl on the menu. Service was reasonably quick and this place seems like a fan favorite as the central place for sweet treats in the Spanish Village Art Center. Plenty of seating around as well. The bowl itself was ok, a blend of banana, pitaya, and mango. Fruit toppings were very disappointing as they were defrosted frozen fruits (some not completely defrosted), with soggy texture. They really lost out by using frozen fruit here. Granola and banana were fine, but I found myself scraping around the fruit because it was so unpleasant to have. It seems their coffee is more popular, and I'd love to come back and try their fun flavors like cherry cream cold brew/biscoff latte. read more

We got to the cart at almost 5PM, well past their closing time. But we always love getting Daniel's every time we visit Balboa. The lovely Tristan made us two delicious drinks, the Mexico Mocha and the Lavender Chai. Both are amazing, and we would recommend getting them half sweet, hot or iced.
