I heard a lot of good things about this restaurant. In addition, I heard the owner previously worked at Betsy's in Morgan Hill. This place is only a mile from my home, so I decided to give it a chance. After seeing & tasting the menu, there are some similarities. Their Chile Verde tastes very good, but it's one note.... no kick to it, not even a tingle. Sorry, Betsy's is better. I ordered the steak chilaquiles, but requested red sauce vs. green. I probably should have stuck with the green. The tortilla chips were crunchy, stale crunchy. The pancakes were great. Portions were good size. Juice overpriced. Service was average. I ate 90% of my meal before I was offered a refill on my coffee. I would go again, just because of the convenience. My rating is a 3.5 read more

My score is originally 1 star but since yelp mentions that during Covid-19 restaurants are doing their best during Covid, I'll add 1 more star. Today we tried this place for the first time. We sat and bus girl served us drinks. After, we waited and waited. Waitress ignored us and took care of another couple that CAME AND SAT AFTER US and took their orders. Waited for like 10-15 minutes. On the to food, I found at the end of my OJ some black thing in the cup. Wasn't sure if it was mold, a dead insect or something. So grossed out. What is worst of all I read their yelp page and saw their health score and read the violations and was even more grossed out. Food was okay except French toast is garbage. I would not go here with wife ever again. I'm so grossed out that I went back home to floss and brush my teeth so it would be fresh again. Sorry but cleanliness is key. read more

We left after 15 minutes with no greeting, no drink order, no acknowledgement from staff. I don't care if you are short staffed or having issues, just being honest and actually talking to tables matters. Came in for brunch. Ordered the machaca and my guest ordered the chorizo omelet. They were both very good. They had good flavor and for the price the portion was a good size. My guest is very picky about how mexican food is made so for him to compliment the food definitely lets me know it was good. Definitely recommend. read more

URGENT reminder that the phone number on Yelp is the old number for Dany's! The new number is 408.337.5990.....called to pick up some Menudo and kinda panicked when I was told the number I dialed off of Yelp had been disconnected.........NOOOOO..this is the best Menudo in South County! First off, the salmon pasta I ordered is delish! But I do take issue with placing a phone order and asking for my order to be ready at a specific time. I was on my lunch break and I always try to plan ahead when possible. Due to covid I prefer to order from local restaurants and help support the community. With that being said, my order was not ready upon arrival, 12:20, I had asked for my order to be ready at 12:15. I let the lady know that I could pay while I wait, she proceeded to try to charge me $28..... my response was, dollars? I knew my pasta was expensive but wow, I asked her to double check.. new total is $20. So just be careful..... my order ended up being ready 15 minutes after my requested time. read more

This is such a hidden gem. We've been regulars since this restaurant opened and we have never been disappointed. Their menu has everything from pasta, steak, Mexican and the best breakfast. This isn't real Mexican food as I thought it would be. It was missing a lot of love in their cooking. Not enough flavor in their food, for me, to ever want to come back. The staff, however, was very friendly and attentive. When I asked, them to clean the table they cleaned it. She came back and asked us, if we wanted more drinks not all the , servers are as attentive, so they are very attentive you have to give credit where credit is due, but at the end, we are here for the food. This place is a gem for sure. I was referred to this place by a friend and finally tried it. Parking - there's a private lot attached. Clean, lots of spaces. Restaurant - this is located in a strip mall. From the outside it's nothing to be impressed by at all. The inside is a small to mid- size place. They have tables and some booth style seating. The decor is a bit mismatched. The staff - everyone was super friendly and very accommodating towards kids. The service was a little slow in the beginning which surprised me because it wasn't that busy. The food - omg was so delicious. They have all day breakfast. Dinner menu starts at 4pm. I ordered one of there chicken sandwiches that comes with a side. The food was cooked so well. The chicken was very flavorful and juicy. I got a side salad with my sandwich which was also very fresh tasting as well. My daughter got a breakfast French toast meal that came with eggs, bacon and fresh toast. Food is tasty with a Mexican flare and big portions. Service is fast. Ambience is standard coffee shop style.

We just ordered post-COVID to-go and had forgotten how amazing this place was. Top favorite plates #1 Chicken and Shrimp with capers combined with rice and veggies is to die for!! and great for the price. #2 Tri-Tip- We ordered medium rare and it was perfectly medium rare, juicy and so flavorful. You also get your choice of soup or salad which for the price is such an amazing deal. But the food is not the only things thats special, we are greeted on the phone by this kind and charismatic fella who was just a treat, and provided us with amazing customer service. Overall will keep being one of our favorite American/Mexican fusion restaurants here in Gilroy. read more

Ordered Dany's take-out tonight. Thank you for staying open during this difficult time! Wanted to show some love to a local business and I was not disappointed. Ordered the Dany's burger and fries. Bomb and filling! 1/2 lb burger with Swiss cheese, grilled onions, jalapeño, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. Burger was thick and still juicy ! Came with fries and a spear pickle. Bomb! great selection of Mexican and American food. We go the chili verde chiliaqulies and the sauce was PERFECT! I love my green sauces and this is by far the best I've had in a while. Hubby got menudo and said it was good, but I didn't try it. I also ordered a side pancake (typical), and it was nice and fluffy like I prefer them. Next time I will probably order the 3 stack because 1 wasn't enough for how good it was. We will be back to try dinner for sure! read more

Me and the GF needed for like NOW. Stopped in at Dany's. On Mondays it closes at 2 and we got there like 1:20. Grabbed a table and the wait staff was courteous and friendly and told us not to worry about them closing at 2. I ordered the Denver Omelette, hash browns and pancakes. The Lil Misses ordered linguine and eggs and pancakes. It came out promptly and I mean everything rocked! The pancakes (you get two) were light and fluffy. The linguica (you get a LOT) was browned on one side just like we like it. The GF's over medium eggs were perfectly done. The Omelette was flatter than I expected but couldn't complain since it literally covered HALF the plate. The other half was covered by crispy hash browns. My GF had Sugar free syrup (they use Lyons Maple) and even that was hittin'! I cannot fault anything on the plates. It was all cooked perfectly and we tackled that food like Joey Chestnutt going after a plate of hot dogs! Halfway into it we knew that if we ever wanted breakfast in Gilroy this would be the spot. The restaurant was nice and seemed pretty busy. The location off the highway is great. The staff were very nice and attentive and the food was good.
