I tried this place for the first time last night and was super impressed. The chicken is so juicy and hot and flavorful. Best fast food chicken I've ever had. There's a wide scale of spice level to choose from - I got mild, and my bf got medium. It's a pretty big jump in spice from mild to medium, so I can't imagine the extra hot or reaper! Something for everyone. I'm a big fan of Raising Cane's, it's our go-to late-night fast food place and we were originally going to go there. But since we were already on 2nd we gave this place a try and I'm SO glad we did. Dave's is wayyy better than Cane's! Prices are comparable and Dave's chicken is juicier and tastier. The service was great too, the cashier was super nice. I saw stickers on the counter and asked for one and he gave me two. :) My bf got the 2 tender w/ fries combo and added a tender for me since I just wanted a snack. I heard there was a Dave's Hot Chicken location that's opening up in Long Beach and I rushed there once I found out it's opened! It's located on 2nd st, so parking was terrible, you can park at the lot behind the restaurant but it's metered. The inside had a really nice ambiance, I really like the graffiti style murals throughout the restaurant, it reflects the city well. I don't know if it's just me but the floors were really slippery, could be an issue if someone slips and drop all their food. I just ordered the slider with fries. The slider was really good, the sauce it came with and the Cole slaw complemented the sandwich well. The workers were really nice and checked on me from time to time if I needed anything. Overall, this is a good solid place for Nashville hot chicken and they happen to open late at night. read more

Crowded seating, okay parking, somewhat clean restrooms/tables. My main issue is my portion size. Are you freaking kidding me?!?! Yes I know it's called mini sliders but this is incredibly small especially for $12. If I were you I'd just stick to the tenders and regular sliders for 7 dollars more you can get an ACTUAL meal (comparison in pictures). Dave's Hot Chicken was born in LA in 2017, and quickly became wildly popular. They now have over 100 locations nationwide. When this location opened on 2nd Street in Long Beach, I thought meh, another place I have no interest in (I don't eat meat). Then, I saw a mukbang star on TikTok devouring Dave's' newest creation: a vegetarian cauliflower "chicken", and everything changed. In the interest of trying all of the new cauliflower items, I ordered a combo with a Dave's NOT Chicken! Cauli Tender, and Cauli Slider, with Cheese Fries, of course. The plate was $20 and a generous portion, served with pickles and a creamy chipotle sauce. I love that you can adjust the heat level in each item; I definitely tasted the difference between the "medium" and "hot". I preferred the slider to the tender, which came served on a slice of white bread, but they were both delicious. The breading was crunchy and savory, and the cauliflower juicy. I love that they use crinkle fries, but the cheese on top was thin and flavorless. It was so watery that the fries absorbed it. If your cooking line is behind by 40 minutes, let the customer know, not just let people order without warning them that they will be sitting there for "fast food" for over 40 minutes. I thought the place was bumping but it was people waiting. And then the manager gave some people gift cards and others just a plain "sorry". It was quite clear what ethnic skin tones were graced with cards and those who, like me, got a halfhearted "sorry" and nudge out the door. Wow! They're consistently good and their chicken sliders with cheese are to die for! I also love their soda selection of bottled and dispense soda. Soooo good and spicy unless you get mild or no spice which I am too scared to try, and ironically I love their spiciest Atomic level but it's TOO SPICY for me. The BEST flavor balance with spice is the Hot level. Once you get to Extra Hot it's good but it's like they use less flavor in exchange for more spice, while the Hot is perfectly flavorful and spicy. Besides the very long wait times and hectic line, I still HIGHLY RECOMMEND because they're food is good, they have awesome soda selection, and their bathrooms are extremely clean probably because they just opened and also because they keep it clean. read more

This is the 2nd Dave's location I've been to. This place had the nicest staff when we went (I did not catch their names). While taste is definitely a subjective thing, I truly believe they cook their food well. Their fried were just how I like them - crispy outside and soft inside. The chicken is juicy, and the batter is great. The bread serves its purpose - to help cut some of that heat (if you get it hot). The restaurant was kept clean, including the bathrooms. Nice to have this addition on 2nd Street that is better than the fast food joints, but also not as expensive others dine-ins. read more
