Meh. We had to send our first order back because we got cold fries and precooked tenders. While the second order was hot , it was not tasty. We got mild and mild light. The mild light had so much dry rub on it that it made a paste i your mouth. Gross. The mild was less spicy than the mild light so did they mess up? I don't know. It's not like they were so busy that it would have taken much effort to get it right. Can we talk about the prices ? Basically $5 a tender! This place is the worst. First of all, asked for napkins and utensils on our order all they gave us was 1 napkin for the whole order and didn't even provide with utensils. Second of all, when I opened my tray and saw my tray of fries it seemed like nothing. I also took a picture of the meal with the one napkin. A Dave's hot chicken closer to home is exciting! We stepped in during soft opening and they were on point. We didn't wait too long for our food. We ordered the sliders combo with cheese. Know that you can mix flavors in the same combo is a plus. Most hot chicken places don't let you mix flavors which sux because if you had a child like mine who can't have a reaper than you're stuck eating both low heat chicken lol. I love the ample seating outside because after a long day you sometime don't want all that loudness in your ear while you eat. The staff check up on you a lot!! So be prepared lol. Maybe a tip for next time is to get extra fries as I felt this portion was smaller than other Dave's. read more

Came here for dinner with my brother in law and brother. All three of us starving and this place Looked great. Upon arriving I noticed their menu is tiny! But I won't grade against that (In-N-Out has a tiny menu and I like them). I opted for the #2 which is 2 sliders and a side. I was asked if I wanted cheese and since I normally never have cheese on my chicken sandwiches. I thought I'd give it a try and get it on one of my sliders. The service was very friendly and efficient. I received my sandwich within just minutes of ordering. After my first bite my initial reaction was too much seasoning.. many chicken sandwich places as of lately I noticed are guilty of this. There was so much seasoning that i tasted more seasoning than chicken. When this happens the sandwich becomes too rich and hard to finish. With the slider that got cheese on it, I felt it was unnecessary and not something I suggest as you already have a bunch of flavors going on with the pickles, special sauce, chicken and slaw. In my opinion perhaps I just picked the wrong heat level (not that it was too spicy) that caused the over seasoning. I will say the service was good and the whole set up for their store is pretty cool. In a world of too many chicken shops I found this one a bit underwhelming. read more

I got the medium spicy chicken tenders and was surprised the flavor of the seasoning is sweet and way over seasoned. I prefer raising canes with some Louisiana hot sauce added to it for spice. This chicken ain't so hot. I was surprised to see they are charging almost twice as much as chick Fil A or raising canes. I was willing to try and see what was so special. It wasn't. Dave's Hot Chicken Tustin BY FAR is the best Dave's location in Southern California. Staff is friendly, food is fresh, and the costumer service BLEW MY MIND!!! Erick, the guy with the sick red hair, took my order and was so sweet when answering the questions I have! Jenny and George also added to the welcoming experience by asking me if I needed anything else when my order came out.
