Best pizza I have ever tried, in Bensonhurst there are a lot of pizzerias and I've tried most of them but never this place for some reason and now I only plan to order from here. I got a round pie with pepperoni and sausage for 25$ the pie was large cooked perfectly not super greasy and tasteless like it's competitors every aspect of it was amazing even my grandma liked it and that lady is picky as hell when it comes to what she eats! The box was colorful and had John Cena on it which was really different compared to the boring boxes other places have and it had me and my family grabbing more then once slice I ate three which is a shock because I usually only eat one slice of pizza when ordered because it's just plain old greasy gross pizza but this pizza was just delicious fantastic and perfect for family gatherings or just for you to eat by your self because wow only downside is they don't do delivery for some reason but I'm still gonna give it 5/5! read more

There's no shortage of pizza places in New York, but let's face it, just because it's NY pizza doesn't mean it automatically good. But no such problem with DaVinci. It's easily my go to place when yearning for a round slice. Very tasty and rarely get the olive oil overload you get with other places. The Sicilian slices are very good as well. After all these years, my only question is why they don't offer delivery, but the owners seem to be steadfast against it, so you'll have to visit for take out or eat in, but well worth it. read more

Da Vinci Pizza has been a staple in the Bensonhust community for years. My kids grew up on this pizza, it's a warm, friendly atmosphere and, of course... The pizza is fantastic. Throughout the years, I have met friends and clients there for lunch, had my daughter's birthday parties upstairs, grabbed a quick pie when I would come home late from work or just dropped in for a slice and a coke. No matter what time of the day it is, there is always someone from the area getting a slice or just Antonio with a warm, friendly hello. Bensonhust may have changed through the years, but the pizza and the friendly atmosphere at Da vinci's hasn't. It has always been my favorite comfort food. read more

Ordered pizza for delivery in California. They do this type of order all the time. Very pleasant and helpful. Order never arrived. Called them and they were very RUDE. Told us more or less NOT OUR PROBLEM, IT'S YOURS. Wow. After spending 100.00 bucks for a couple of pies, you would think they would say sorry for you inconvenience. I grew up eating pizza at DaVinci's on 18th Ave in Brooklyn. I usually don't like the square pie but they make the best pizza dough. It's so light, I would just have to have a slice of the square pie. I just found out that they are shipping to other states. I since moved from Brooklyn many years ago, and I will definitely be ordering from them. It will be great to have a slice of Brooklyn's DaVinci pizza again. I may order more than just the pizza. This pizzeria has been around for as long as I have so I am kind of shocked that it only has 6 reviews... This IS the definition of Brooklyn pizza. When you see John Travolta walking on 86th street passing New Utrecht high school in Saturday Night Fever, this is the pizza he was probably eating (assuming it was real life of course). People think Spumoni Gardens has the best pizza. But these are the same people that are impressed with Boboli pizza found in the freezer section of all major supermarkets. DiFara's can't even be compared to this pizza because it is different, that is the fresh Margarita slice this is your typical Brooklyn slice. Ingredients are GREAT. Sauce GOOD. Dough thin enough and cooked PERFECT. I've actually asked them not to cook a few pizza pies all of the way so I can bring a taste of Brooklyn to Connecticut and they agreed. It was such a hit. The pizza is almost 3 dollars a slice, sure it used to be $1.25 but that was also when cell phones didn't exist, move on everyone. Also, worthy of trying is the chicken roll. So skip the typical best pizzeria's and head to 18th avenue. read more

$3 dollars extra to replace the marinara sauce with vodka sauce on a chicken Parmesan hero. Basically a 30% upcharge. The vodka sauce is really good, much better than the chicken. But 30 percent increase for a substitute that boils down to scooping one type of sauce from the pan next to the other is a tad ridiculous. And the only place it's mentioned on the menu is by the dinner section that comes with pasta and some other stuff. But still the same increase in price. And they expect you to know that. So if you want close to a twenty dollar lunch with a drink, go to da Vinci's. read more

I knew I shouldn't have ate a slice, because the way the cheese was on the pie didn't look right and it didn't give that great feeling that only pizza can give you. Didn't even taste good. Pizza nowadays is not like what it used to be. I am spoiled growing up in the 90s where you walk pass each pizza parlor, you will spot the big red and yellow juice machines, one or two game arcades stationed inside, a few iconic orange long chairs connected to the tables and when a slice of pizza was much bigger portion sold for $1.50 with cheese and oil dripping from the parchment paper. Don't waste your money having a party here. I did and the service was really bad. It took the staff 45 minutes to set up after the party started( a lot of time lost in a three hour party). I had to ask for napkins ,cups ,dishes and the entertainment system to be set up.The hot plates and coffee were cold too. They shorted us on the food( we payed for 50 got for 25-30). The owner was rude and acted like he did not care to help us. When I went to pay the bill the owner got mad when I told him the service was not good. He even requested a tip for the restaurant on my credit card. He told me I "must" tip 15%. What he asked for was more like 20%. I out smarted him by tipping the servers in cash(after all I have class). Later on after the party end I was home and saw that we left a bag in the restaurant. I called and asked the owner to check for the bag. He told me to call back in five minutes while he checked. First call was not answered(10 rings). Second call he said it was not there and he was very rude. I thanked him for looking and walked to the restaurant. I found the bag in the garbage right next to the restaurant. The owner was standing outside and played stupid when I confronted him. This ruined my day so be warned. This place is no good at all. read more

I've thought long and hard on how to describe the pizza here (actually, it took like two minutes), and here's what I ended up with: It's like they manufacture the pie, and then they manufacture the cheese, and then they glue the cheese to the pie and hope it doesn't fall off. I had such a great experience here! I'm from the midwest and the owner and cook took great care of us. They were incredibly accommodating and friendly. I know there's another place down the street that looks more fancy but everyone tells me the service is HORRIBLE. All of the servers are mean. It's run by 2 big Italian guys who are actually just big sweethearts. The place is a modest pizzeria. It's not as small as a hole in the wall, but it has a nice local feel. The cook tosses right in front of you. He'll even crack jokes with you while he does it. Even thought there's no closed kitchen, I rather like that. You know exactly how your food is cooked. I got to try both the Napoleotana and the Siciliana. The Napoleotana was my favorite. It was just the right thickness and you could taste a little bit of wine or alcohol in the sauce which gave it a slight but not overpowering kick. I'm used to Chicago deep dish pizza. The Siciliana was not as deep, but that's what I like! It had the same sauce drenched in cheese. The best part of the Siciliana was the crust on the bottom. Very crunchy! It was great with the rest of the gooey pizza. We also had some garlic knots, which were good. My cousin got rice balls, which she said wasn't easy to find at other places. I had a taste myself and the rice was cooked just right. The sauce gave it a good flavor as well. While we ate, we had a great time talking with Antonio (the owner). He was really into learning about and getting to know his customers. It was seriously so refreshing! I will definitely be back again! read more

We are originally from Brooklyn and moved out to California and believe me when I tell you that there isn't a pizza place in all of California where you can get a decent pie. I learned that DaVinci Pizzeria just started to ship pizza and guarantees it will arrive within 2 days. O ordered 2 Sicilian pies and it was delivered in 2 days and it is just what the doctor ordered! It was awesome. Absolutely great dough, cheese was superb and the DaVinci boys know how to cook a pie. My friends and I did a blind taste test with 5 different plain slices from different pizza places in Bensonhurst, including DaVinci. Without giving too much info about the other places, DaVinci came in 5th out of the 5. This is partly a testament to the competition being so good, but we found DaVinci to be a bit too oily compared to the rest and the cheese was too "cheesy," meaning it wasn't cooked well enough into the dough and dominated over the sauce (where a good slice has a nice balance of bread, cheese and sauce). Honestly, it still wasn't that bad, but with all the other pizza spots to choose from in the neighborhood, DaVinci is just middle of the road. My son's father and I decided to throw a surprise children's party for our son's 6th birthday. Da Vinci Pizzeria has been around for years! They have a party room just above from the pizzeria for $225.00 for three hours. The room fits roughly about 50 people or could be more, pretty spacious. Antonio was very helpful to us on the details of renting the party room. We ordered the following food three days before the actual party date: Mozzarella Stix Platter Chicken Finger and French Fry Platter Buffalo Wing Platter - Served with Carrots and Celery Garden Salad Bowl American Hero Platter Grilled Chicken, Fresh Mozzarella & Roasted Peppers Platter Round Pie - One with Pepperoni & One Plain Square Pie Our package came with unlimited sodas My son's father said the chicken wings were really good besides the pizza. To be honest, I did not had the chance to eat the day of the party since the food was devoured everytime I turned around. I had had their pizza when we were booking the party room two weeks prior. The pizza is delicious! Can't go wrong with this local neighborhood pizzeria. Alyssa was our waitress that help set up the party room for us and made sure everything was refilled. She was excellent and has a great personality. If my guest needed something that wasn't there, we would go downstairs to request for it from the guys in the front, if Alyssa is unavailable. Guess what they say??? "It will be sent up to you." Wow, I didn't have to wait for it. I wouldn't have a problem waiting for it since I needed a break from 19 screaming kids. We also had also booked entertainment of Scooby Doo and two clowns with magic shows and face painting. Downstairs regular dining is better than your average sit down pizzeria. It's more updated. The best thing to happen to me on a Friday the 13th with a full moon. This place was like an oasis in the desert. I ordered a stromboli and a sicilian square and I was in pizza heaven. The stromboli crust was unbelievably light and held together the most delish filling of cheeses, meats and veggies. The sicilian square was crunchy on the bottom, with a perfect balance of sauce and cheese on thick but not chewy crust. Can't wait for my next trip there!! read more

This is what you would call your basic pizza place in Brooklyn. They have a very limited menu of different flavors of pizza, rolls and calzones compared to other places. However, the food is delicious! The pizza is always hot and fresh and the calzones are huge! Normally I take it home but when I do stay for a while I notice that the place is very clean and the staff is very friendly. If you are up on 18th ave shopping this would be a perfect place to stop by for a bite if your in the pizza mood. read more

I order a slice of white pizza pie from an "all business" Italiano guy whose name I imagine is Vinnie. The crust is a tad thinner than last night's pie at Carve Sandwiches and is a little less firm. This slice is slightly greasier (I'm not complaining!) and built for folding "NY Style". Maybe it really is all about the soft NYC water they use to make the pizza dough. We've picked two random pizza shops in NYC and both "BLOW DOORS" over and beyond our Orange County counterparts that claim to serve "authentic New York style pizza". read more

I have been eating at DaVinci Pizzeria pretty much my whole life, or at least since I couldn't see over the counter. A "square" was 25 cents and a "round" was 20 cents and I always got a small orange drink to go with. I'm old enough to know that the location it is in right now was not the original - which was 2 stores away. A very large department-type store called Berta ate up nearly the whole corner and DaVinci moved closer to 66th street. The menu is limited - at least that's how I found it last time I went - pizza and calzones with maybe a sausage roll thrown in. Make no mistake about it - DaVinci pizza is delicious - and has been consistently swoonworthy anytime I've gone there. It's been open since the pope was an altar boy, does not offer delivery - and this has not stopped it from flourishing and establishing itself as an icon of pizzamaking in Brooklyn for a very, very long time. I'm basing my feedback on true experience - not any type of allegiance to the owners. And certainly the negative feedback here is way too personal to be taken seriously. read more

The square slices are nothing short of amazing at this place. Overall, this is the best slice on 18th Ave these days. The pinwheels are good, the salads are good and large for the price. And the guys in this place are good people. I've even been to a catered event in the upstairs area, which was top-notch as well. This review is on the Sicilian slice (corner). I'll admit it, I can be a Sicilian snob. I don't usually order them from a place I never went to before. However, as I waited for the school kids to order, I noticed that piping hot Sicilian pie and it just looked too yummy to resist. My Brooklyn instincts kicked in and it was the best choice I made.
