Total let down. I read the prior reviews and was excited to try this place for the 1st time. The service was very very slow, on a Tuesday! We sat down at 6:40 was only given a good menu and waited 15 minutes for the waitress to come over with the drink menu. Then waited another 10-15 minutes for her to return with water and not prepared to take our orders. We had to ask for bread and I guess I assumed it would be warm, because who serves cold bread?!? For dinner?! We did not get our food until 7:40 an hour later and it was cold. The steak was fatty and served without a steak knife. The lobster Mac n cheese was room temperature, lamb chops were cold in the center. To be honest long horn Steak house would be a better option. You get warm bread, with cinnamon butter and a better cut of steak and it's always hot when it gets to the table. I was hoping for a good time with good food, but didn't happen that way. read more

A review is long overdue! I love going to DC because of the overall experience. I love the new location, it's so beautiful inside and is the perfect setting for any occasion. I went for an early birthday dinner and they were so accommodating of the changes my party had made. We appreciate the amazing customer service! Now onto the food.. I was so happy with my choice of surf and turf. Everything was cooked perfect and the drink recommendations were perfect. You can tell the server was enthusiastic about being there and it made us feel so welcomed. My friends all got something different and each plate was better than the next, made us want to order more. Absolutely would suggest you try the wagyu steak special while they still have it. 20 ounces of tender buttery goodness and the chef's recommended drink pairing is Coke with grenadine (insert Chef's kiss sound). I'm not sure what changed over time, as my wife and I used to come often for date night. Both of our steaks were impossible to eat and we ended up spitting them back into our napkins. It seemed like microwaved meat and had better at Applebees. We spent $300+ on 4 of us and left hungry. We never want to complained as we didn't want anything for free. Maybe I went in with the wrong expectations. I was thinking this was a top end steak house. The service and food left much to be desired. Our waiter had no knowledge of the wine menu. My fiancé told the waiter what she was looking for and he just pointed to the most expensive glass on the menu. It turned out to not be what she was asking for at all. The steak was good, the sides were terrible. The creamed spinach should be served with a bowl and a spoon. It looked like soup!! The grilled asparagus was not trimmed. I chewed it forever!! We were celebrating a special occasion so our waiter brought out a lava cake for us. It must have come straight out of the microwave. Not good! There are many good eating establishments in this town. B) Service was horribly slow C) The food you do receive will likely be undercooked or overcooked -- and the server won't have a care in the world to fix it Additionally, how the heck do you not have seasoned vegetables? I went to DC Steakhouse to celebrate a friend's birthday. I'm going to start with the good. This is a great place to celebrate any special occasion. It has a romantic/classy/cool ambiance. Our server, Anselmo, was amazing! He checked on us frequently, told us the special, asked if we needed more drinks, etc. The food, probably one of the best lobster mac & cheese I've had and top 5 steak I've had. I've been to many steakhouses and DC is definitely one of the best. Now to the bad, my friends ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives and were charged $1.50 per olive. Not even cheesecake factory charges you for their blue cheese stuffed olives. When we got our bill we noticed that there was a credit card fee. If you pay cash the total is less than if you pay with a credit care. I know everything has gone up in price, but when I go to a steakhouse I don't want to be nickel-and-dimed. I expect my bill to be higher at a steakhouse, but I don't expect to pay for olives or a credit card fee. Although the service and food was amazing, the extra fees took away from the overall experience and I'm not sure if I will return. This used to be my go to steak place. Four of us dined there last night. While the food was decent, we were there for nearly 2 and 1/2 hours. The service was incredibly slow. There was a family with a toddler nearby who was clearly not happy (he was probably hungry and the service was slow!) I find this interesting because my son was told children under six were not welcome when he tried to make a reservation recently. Maybe they have changed that policy. read more

Well we had a party of 6 I'm sure we spent $1000 here on 3/18/23. Our waitress, and hostess and the food was good. We enjoy 5 star dining and this was an odd experience being charged an additional &1.00 for steak sauce and extra salad dressing. In addition to that there is a cash price and a higher price for using a card. I think these extra charges should be indicated on the menu or by the sever. Knowing we were being charged for what should be included with the meal is egregious. Do better!! The music was too loud from across the grass and the doors were left open. read more

So, my husband and I had a night off from the kids and wanted a nice adult dinner. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was really good with the exception of the cold bread that was served before our meal. The service left a lot to be desired. Nothing to write home about, average in every way. The atmosphere is nice, but the food is meh and took a long time to get. I ordered cajun swordfish and it was just a plain filet with a little bit of cajun spice on it, not much flavor, no sauce, just plain filet which had a weird texture. The sides couldn't be more average either, a green salad and a baked potato or fries. No rice option to go with fish which is a little weird and no vegetables (what?). My husband's steak was ok, not much flavor either. But the most annoying thing is that they put it on their menu that they'll charge you a surcharge for Prop 206 (the min wage increase) and they sure did! $1.82 on an $80 bill! If that's not the definition of nickling and diming I don't know what is! You charge $30 per entree minimum, you can afford to pay a little more to your staff! Instead of whining about it to your customers and charging them "a surcharge" because they just are not paying you enough to cover the bills, that $1.82 is gonna make all the difference. We were seated in a corner behind a booth, the server was slow to take our order, forgot a part of our meal and just did not seem to be real interested in serving. He was nice enough and he did an ok job but just not to the level of a fine dining experience. The food was subpar, we ordered the meatball starter, it was very overcooked and rubbery, clearly made well before and frozen. The salad was almost like bagged salad and Kraft dressing. I got ribs and chicken, the flavor was good but it was so soaked in BBQ sauce I couldnt even eat it. My husband got prime rib, it was cold and had ok flavor but it wasn't worth the price we paid. It was 13 of us total, the owner was nice and accommodating and allowed our little ones to join. We assured everyone they wouldn't run around as I guess that has been an issue there in the past with other parents (why they would allow their kids to behave that way, I don't know. For the price point the steaks are great and the service was awesome. There is no options for Wagyu. Definitely a huge step up from Texas Roadhouse and Longhorn. Went to DC Steakhouse for cocktails with a colleague last week, which was just fine, so tried it for dinner with my wife on SAT 05 MAR. We arrived at 3:00PM and sat at the bar. I had a Knob Creek Manhattan and my wife had a Fig Martini; both were good. I ordered the veal chop and my wife had the 5 oz filet 'DC Style' (w/ shrimp, aparagus, and hollandaise). Both entrees came with a salad and choice of potato; we asked about substituting a vegetable in lieu of the starch, but that was not allowed (getting a vegetable added was an additional $12). The salads arrived first; we both had ranch dressing. The dressing tasted a bit off: like it was from a bottle (i.e. not housemade). A server at the bar asked how our salads were - I noted that the dressing did not taste fresh, and his suggestion was clear: if we wanted housemade dressing, then NEXT TIME order the peppercorn dressing... we did not finish the salads... When entrees came my chop was terribly overcooked (MED WELL vice MED RARE). None of the staff asked us how our entrees were. When it was apparent that we were done eating, our server asked about dessert, but we declined. So, two entrees as described above, two martinis and an order of chicken strips to go were $149, not counting gratuity. For the overall 'fine dining' presentation, and reputation of the restaurant, we were quite disappointed. And the chicken strips were unimpressive... probably previously frozen.... The strips at the Shinery (next door) are hand-battered and much better! read more

It was grissel And the attempt for Pittsburgh style was done very poorly The brussels sprouts had some very distasteful type of balsamic. I've had brussels sprouts with balsamic before many places which were delicious. The baked potato was lukewarm. The wine was delicious! The salad was very good I probably won't be going back. This was my dad's favorite place; at the old location, once they moved locations and tried to expand everything went downhill. Tonight was one of the first nights we finally got back outside the house. Figured we would try our go-to place again and we were very disappointed. They claimed they were short-staffed and had a rush of customers, we waited so long to order once we sat down. On top of that, I watched our drinks sit at the ready station on bar for about 13 minutes. I could've got up and grabbed it myself. My friends drink was watered down by then.. luckily I got some wine. The appetizer we had to send back because it was cold and also very tasteless. I am not a judgy person and hate to do that to the staff, but this was horrendous. On the bright side, I will say the new atmosphere is upscale and nice but the service in the overall food is nothing special. I felt bad for the server, but at the same time when we are paying a lot for a meal, I expect to be checked up on at least one time, On top of that, we spent way longer than we should have there due to the delay in service. On the bright side, the desert was great! Lastly, my friend and I each had a coupon for our own check. The coupon stated one can be used per check and obviously we were expecting to each go on our own. They sent the bill to the table and said only one could be used so we ended up spending more money than expected, which is fine when giving a place five stars, but this was the exact opposite. DC Steakhouse has done it again. My husband, son, and I returned last night for our one year wedding anniversary. We were able to make a reservation ahead of time on the OpenTable app. We put in the notes that we were celebrating our anniversary and that we would have our son with us. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the hostesses who said "happy anniversary" to us and escorted us to our table that the owner had personally decorated herself. There were decorations and balloons. She also came by the table to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and to introduce herself. We had a wonderful server, Erica. Not only was she a great server, but it became such a small world when we had a feeling to ask her where she was from. Out of the entire world, she grew up in the same place as my husband and they even attended the same high school! It added another highlight and flair to our dining experience. I ordered the Chilean Seabass as it was a special on the menu with two scallops, a la cart. Pan seared, delicious. The Seabass was cooked in a bone broth and very simple and delicious. The portion was huge and out of control. The scallops were huge too. My husband ordered the walleye which is his favorite. It's always consistent and delicious. We had our side salads that came complimentary with our meal. We ordered lobster mashed potato to share and it was also a very generous portion. Probably could've been shared with four people but we gorged ourselves on that and it was delicious. We we're celebrating so of course we ordered some cocktails, and jumbo shrimp for an appetizer, and the chocolate torte for dessert. They brought us out a sparkler because we were celebrating. They were so kind to us and accommodating of our son. We spent just under two hours there and it was amazing. Prices are on the higher side because you're paying for a fine dining experience, parking is available either on the street or adjacent to the restaurant in a dirt lot. As always, it was the best place to celebrate major milestone. Amazing service, delicious food, incredible environment. We will be coming back to celebrate more, future milestones. read more

Their voicemail said "leave name, number, how many people and time, if no return call then reservation is confirmed ". So, we arrive (5:20pm) and we're told no seating available until 8pm. This evening my boyfriend and I made a reservation to celebrate our last night in town. We were excited for the steakhouse based off of reviews we had seen but unfortunately we were extremely disappointed upon arrival. We were sat right on time, (the only positive thing about our experience), we were sitting for about 8 ish minutes before we had any server approach us and another 7-10 mins before we were given water. We sat down around 7;20 and ended up leaving at 8 after we had just received our drinks because of how inattentive our service was. I had reminded my boyfriend that maybe they were short staffed but we noticed that the other tables around us were all he helped. So we ended up finding a reservation else where. This is such an inexpensive way to impress customers, than it was hard and cold. Very disappointed. How much would it cost to have warm bread? Then we ordered a Caesar salad, as far as I am concerned no restaurant should call a salad a Caesar that just serves a plate of lettuce with a poor bottled dressing. They don't even offer fresh ground pepper. All of this adds to the experience of a REAL steakhouse. Laying two anchovie filets on the top is better than nothing but charging $9 for a dollars worth of lettuce is horrible. This is what I would get at Denny's. I ordered a $50 steak and it was over cooked and dry. We had to wait even to get more water. Will not give this place a second chance. read more

Had dinner tonight in a party of four. We started with an order of calamari, which was tender and delicious. For entrees, we had the bone-in ribeye steak, grilled salmon, and lamb chops. The ribeye steak, which was split between two diners, received a big thumbs up from both diners. The salmon received an "okay" rating. The lamb chops were overcooked, and the baked potato that came with it was quite salty. The restaurant's quiet ambiance was disrupted by loud music coming from the bar next door, which had a live band. When my friend paid with her credit card, we were all surprised to see a $7 credit card fee added to the bill. In summary, the food was a mixed bag, the service was decent, the atmosphere was compromised by the loud music next door, and the extra credit card fee was an unwelcome surprise. We came here to celebrate a birthday, with a party of seven. We were promptly seated and offered beverages. I ordered the lamb chops which were delicious and perfectly cooked. There were 3 good sized chops in the order. Another in our party had a half rack of ribs which were also outstanding. My daughter had a five ounce medium rare filet which was great. The rest of our party ordered steaks and prawns which they thoroughly enjoyed. The birthday girl was treated to a delicious complimentary lava cake with fireworks. We visited DC last Friday and looked forward to 3 great meals. What a disappointment. Of the 3 meals only the perch was good. As for the prime rib, which our server was recommended, it was tough and with a great deal of muscle. Our guest had the NY steak an I was told it was fair, at best. I might mention our server could have been more attentive rather than just going through the motions. The restaurant clips you 3 extra points if you use a credit card.
