We had two HVAC units that had condensation drain lines that weren't draining properly. I called Dean's Plumbing and they were available to come the next morning. The price was going to be quite high....around $420. When I asked about the second they said it would have to be the same price but they could work something out. The next morning two men came to do the work. They did not have the necessary parts to do the job and had to go to Home Depot to get them. After the first drain was cleared I asked how much it would cost to clear the second one. The first drain took about 15 minutes so I was astonished that they wanted to charge another $420 to clear the second! I asked that they reduce that charge for the second and they refused. So, the total bill for clearing two lines requiring 30-40 minutes total time was going to be over $800! This was completely unjustifiable! They wanted me to pay the "trip charge" again even though they were already at the job site! I would have paid another $200 for the second one just to get the job completed but they weren't interested. Turning down a chance to negotiate a fee for a second drain while at the job site shows very poor judgement on their part. You might say they left money on the table! Shortly after they left I found a plumber to clear the second drain for $150. If you're willing to pay fees like this then call Dean's Plumbing. Otherwise I recommend you take your business elsewhere. read more

Deans has provided annual maintenance for my tankless water heater for years. Providing expert work in a very professional manner for a fair price. This year with the great freeze I had water leaking through my ceiling from the attic after the pipes that were frozen began to thaw a bit. Called another Plummer first to get the water shut off and determine where the leak was coming from. While he was able to determine that the water leak was in the hot water line he was unable to determine where the leak was or exactly and his repair approach was to tear apart my ceiling to find the leak. I then called Dean, which I should of done first. They showed up within 30 minutes, which blew me away considering the demand for plumbers at the time. After a through inspection they located the source of the leak, in the tankless water heater. Based upon a through review of the problem including speaking to the manufacturer, gave me a couple of options of repair vs. purchase new unit. We chose to replace the damaged unit, and they completely installed the next day and we once again we had hot water. They did a great job in a timely manner for a fair price. That first call was late at night on a Saturday and Wade came out and took great care of us with a great attitude for having to respond to that late night call. The service was fast and efficient. Snaked my drains and got my toilet and shower draining again. I won't downgrade the service, but it was a bit confusing. I called in at 7:45 AM and they answered my call and set up the appointment for between 8 and 10 AM. She said I was the first job of the day so they would be out soon. Then she said, the plumber would call me 30 minutes before he arrived. So, I figured, I'd get a call in the next few minutes. At about 9:20 I called to make sure I hadn't fallen through the cracks. No, I was still "all set to go and the guy will call you before he comes". So, about 9:50 the doorbell rings. I have two guys standing there, politely asking where the problem is. They did the job perfectly, thus the 5-star rating. But, I didn't get a call. Since I work about two blocks from home, it is not uncommon for me to go to work and meet the repair guy at home after they call. Lucky for them, I stayed home to wait for them. read more

Scheduling mixup on the first appointment but Ronnie the owner called me on his cell to apologize and get me rebooked to repair a burst pipe that had been capped previously. I was on the schedule for the next day and got home and another pipe had burst and was spewing water. I called to see if they could come out on short notice before my scheduled appointment. We have done business with Dean's Plumbing for 8 years. We recently needed a gasket in the shower. He was at the house max 15 minutes from entering the house to driving away. His bill came ... $110.00. The last time we used him the bill was $89 for 30 minutes. We thought $110.00 for 15 minutes was extreme - when we talked to Dean about the bill - he said if you think it was too much - don't pay it... so we didn't. 2 months later we get a bill and threaten to forward our account to a collection agency. The bill person explained the charge was fair but they were willing to give a 10% discount as we were a continuous customer. We paid the bill but please note WE ARE NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY ANYMORE. We suggest you check their prices before hiring them. Call B & J Mechanical .. they are fair, fast and reliable. Dean knew the price was unreasonable but did not stand up to his word. Motivation is MONEY. Customer beware!! read more

Called with two problems, a wet bar sink drain that needed to be reinstalled and a leaking flush valve in a toilet. The guy showed up, took a picture of the flush valve, charged me $125 to reinstall the drain (which required no parts), and told me that he had to send the picture to someone who would, within a couple of hours (!), advise him of parts price and availability. He said I would be called with an estimate for the toilet. I have since heard nothing. While I can appreciate a policy of giving an estimate prior to doing work, this seems kind of ridiculous, and the lack of follow up tells me that Dean's doesn't really want my business. read more

Plumber showed up within the designated time window. The pipework under my sink was a mess from the previous homeowner (which is why I couldn't fix it myself). I wasn't sure it couldn't be fixed without hundreds of dollars of work. Chris fixed me up for just over a hundred dollars - he did magic with pipe cutting and fitting. I know some plumbers charge $99 to unstop a drain plus the service call fee. These guys are great - would highly recommend. read more
