Thai sliced beef mixed with a spicy cilantro lime sauce and served with lettuce wedges. This was sooooo good, it's so hard finding gluten free meals at restaurants but this will be my GO-TO when I come here!

This place is a must try!!! The food was delicious, the service was great. On a Friday night with a group of 9 they seated us under 20 minutes! Highly recommend. We had a lot more food but I forgot to take pictures.

Deckhand is consistently good. Oysters are always fresh and the pad Thai is a generous portion with great flavor. Service is always good even when they are busy (which is most of the time!)

I've been to this location a few times and the others as well but this one's closest to me in my honey so we have dinner there last night. Service was Stellar we got in really quickly even though it was very busy and were taking care of right away once we sat down. My partner's been coming here for years and he always gets the exact same thing which is the 10 piece shrimp basket with fries and a salad I on the other hand absolutely adore the Thai food as well as the Cajun & seafood items. Both are executed well. I LOVE the calamari salad with glass noodles. They had a special lumping style wggeoll appetizer I had to try. Fabulous! This is a staple in out repertoire.

Another great visit especially during Texas crawfish season. This place is a jam for casual seafood dining with twist of a southeast Asian flavors. We continue to enjoy their stable pad Thai dish along with their huge portion of Lao papaya salad. They use fresh Thai chili so make sure you order your spicy level with caution. Try their house sauce with half shelled oysters, your taste buds will go wild.

Great food! Good flavor and not too spicy. I had the oysters and the etouffe. Both delicious! My daughter had the crawfish and she loved them. Our server worked with us and came back often to ensure we were not wanting anything. The Ambiance was okay. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They are even ready for Christmas with there tree already up, or maybe not taken down. All tge same a good time.

This restaurant is located at Frontera next to the Salvation Army store. It is family friendly. It's typically packed and the staff is all friendly. It's a casual environment with dressing. Great place to watch sports as they have many TVs. The crawfish is available during season time you can tell them how spicy you want it or what add-ons you want to add to it. It's à la carte.. during the week they close at nine they are not open on Monday. Friday Saturday Sunday. They're open until 10 PM. Typically they close at 9 AM on other days.

This was a enjoyable journey for us... My husband and I found ourselves up in Austin for the day so we decided to go on a little adventure as this isn't exactly "in Austin", but more suburbia. He had worked in the area several times over the years and discovered Deckhand since his construction crew were staying at a hotel nearby. He kept telling me how much he enjoyed his meals there and wanted to share the experience with me. We had the Shrimp Diablo, broiled oyster sampler, and fried banana with ice cream. The menu is extensive with a wide variety. The family history of own gulf fishing boats is cool too. If you find yourself in the area, why not give Deckhand a try.

Went here to watch the first NFL game of the season. They had lots of TVs and the vibe was up. Our waitress was 10/10 very friendly and good at her job. The hostess was maybe having a bad day but the waitress made up for it heavy. We ordered the 3 pc catfish which came with fries and the spicy thai basil stir fry with pork and fried pickles. We also ordered some Fried pickles: 3/5 just average nothing special. They are spears which makes more room to be soggy but it wasn't overly salty which I appreciate. Catfish: 2/5 the fish had no seasoning and the fries tasted frozen and stale. Best part was the hush puppies. Spicy thai basil stirfry: actually solid spice but a little too salty and not enough rice for me. The egg was cooked nicely though. Service and vibe: 5/5 I would consider coming back here for a game but maybe would consider some other places too.

The oysters were good overall, though a few were a bit too salty. Some were topped with cheese and green onions, while another set came with tomatoes and cheese. Nice variety in toppings, though flavors could've been more balanced. The pad se ew a bit on too salty for me, but the noodle texture was good chewy and cooked just right. Tho, I don't recommend. The stir fry has a nice basil flavor to it. The sauce is similar to a sweet soy.

Only reviewing my order. Garlic shrimp - the sauce alone is worth it all! Shrimp size is NOT shrimpy. Delicious. I'd totally remove any cilantro in the rice. Not a fan.

My sister told me to do a pick up order for her and they told me it was $154.80. They gave me the food and there was a receipt attached with the total for $141.71 with tax included. I tipped in cash too!!! So I called them to ask why was I charged an extra 10 percent. They said it is 10 percent gratuity. Why didn't they mention this when my sister ordered or when I paid and gave them cash tip!! Will not be coming back anymore and will let friends and family know.

    Wendy Q.

I ordered crawfish, because yes it's the season!! And added potatoes and sausages, OMG, they were so good (ofc regular) because I can't do spicy. We also ordered fried and fresh oysters and they were a huge success in our table. You gotta TRY this restaurant out

After landing in San Antonio yesterday to kick off my summer vacation, the very first thing I did…read moretoday was ask my friend to bring me back to this restaurant. The reason is simple: we ate here two years ago, and it left such a great impression on us that we had been looking forward to coming back ever since. Fortunately, not much has changed in terms of either the quality or the overall presentation of the food. Everything is still delicious, especially the Pho Combo. To be honest, it's far better than most of the pho we've had in Germany. That doesn't mean the pho in Germany is bad--it simply means this place matches my personal taste much better. As for the downsides, they're almost exactly the same as before. Parking is still a major challenge, and I understand that's probably not something the restaurant can easily fix. We also tried calling ahead to reserve a table, but they don't take reservations, whether you're coming with a group of 5-7 people or just 2-3 people. We arrived at 6:45 PM and still had to wait about 40 minutes before being seated, which was honestly quite inconvenient. Coincidentally, there was live music tonight, which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately, the sound system wasn't very good, so it was difficult to hear what the singers were performing. Then again, this isn't really the type of venue where people come specifically to enjoy live music, so most diners didn't seem to pay much attention to it. One thing I did notice was that either the kitchen has made a few changes over the past two years, or perhaps my own taste has changed a little. The food felt slightly saltier than I remembered, and the pho broth was richer and creamier. While that added some depth of flavor, it was a bit too rich for my liking, to the point where finishing the entire bowl of broth felt a little overwhelming. The braised short ribs were incredibly tender--so tender that a knife was almost unnecessary, and they could easily be pulled apart with just a fork. While many people would probably see that as a positive, I actually missed the slightly firmer, meatier texture I remembered from my last visit. That said, these are relatively minor issues. The quality may have dipped just a little compared to our previous visit, but this is still an excellent restaurant. If they can fine-tune those small details, it would easily return to being one of my favorite places. There's a good chance we'll stop by one more time before heading back to Germany.

Is it that time of year for another 1618 update? Absolutely…read more After my umpteenth visit, I think it's safe to say I've worked my way through almost the entire menu (minus a few noodle, chicken & vegetarian dishes). My 2025 review still stands, but after so many visits, I've noticed a few items haven't been good as they used to, particularly the chicken wings (and yes, all three of them). The Garlic Wings haven't been hitting quite the same lately. They've started to taste a little dry, and the saucier wings taste better the next day since they don't have time to steep through once served. The Filet Mignon Pepper Steak is still my favorite dish on the menu, but I still can't justify ordering it family-style anymore. It's delicious, but the portion just doesn't match the price. One of the newest additions--the Truffle Fried Rice is spectacular. It's light, not overpowering with truffle, and the fish eggs really adds the perfect little pop of texture/flavor. I don't think I breathed the entire I scarfed it down!! 1618 is still one of my favorite restaurants in Austin of all time, but I think it's time for the menu to elevate a bit and dive deeper into less mainstream Asian cuisine. If anyone can do it, 1618 can.

The restaurant itself has a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a bar. It seems like a nice place to have a meal. As for the food, we ordered: Pad thai with chicken, mild spice - unfortunately this was a bit dry for me, though the taste was good. Pad see ew with chicken - I liked their version and would probably get it again. Pad woon sen with pork - typically my favorite noodle dish and I think they did a good job. Garden roll - good but not as packed as others I've had, and at a higher price point. Pineapple fried rice with pork - I liked this but was a bit on the oily side. Tom kha soup - I thought this was very good and had a decent amount of chicken and mushrooms Overall I liked everything but some items I felt I had better versions of elsewhere. It's also on the pricier side. Still, if in central Austin I think it's a solid choice for Thai food.

There were so many new dishes that caught my eye, but I immediately gravitated toward the Creamy Crab Curry and it was absolutely the right choice. The curry was rich, creamy and packed with flavor while the fried soft-shell crab was perfectly cooked and added a great texture to the dish. Honestly, it's the kind of meal I could see myself ordering every week. My partner went with the Lost Recipe, which looked just as delicious. You can never really go wrong with fried chicken, and this version certainly didn't disappoint. The service was equally impressive. Our server was friendly, attentive and checked in regularly throughout the meal. She even brought us a complimentary crab pastry to try, which was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. One thing to note this place gets busy, especially during lunch so plan accordingly. That said, the food and service are well worth it and the menu is reasonably priced. Kiin Di has successfully made the jump from food truck to full-service restaurant and it's definitely earned a spot on my regular rotation.
