This location has free WiFi and Funland for the kiddies. Nacho Cheese Fries is crinkle-cut fries topped with nacho cheese sauce and sliced pickled jalapenos. It's definitely a comfort food menu item for me. When my day isn't going well or I have a cold, this is my go-to menu item. The crispy and perfectly salted fries with their crinkles help the nacho sauce cling. The jalapenos add a kick of spiciness here and there when you need it. This is not on the menu at every location, but you can still order it. Just make sure you say "Nacho Cheese Fries" when in the drive-thru. If you say "Nacho Fries", they sometimes hear it as "Macho Fries" and you will end up with a large fries. Rating: 5/5 Shredded Beef Combo Burrito needs a comeback. I loved the tender shredded beef, cheese, and refried beans together in a burrito. I usually add a packet of each hot sauce (Mild, Del Scorcho, and Del Inferno) to my burritos for the ultimate flavor experience. Each sauce has its own flavor profile, but combined are the perfect sauce. They should call it "Del Ultimo"! Rating: 5/5 Carnitas Fries also needs a comeback. For the price, it was a pretty decent size of lettuce topped with seasoned ground beef, shredded cheese, sour cream, diced tomatoes, and five tortilla chips. It was a refreshing side salad of sort. It definitely tasted like a taco salad. Rating: 4/5 The Bun Taco was also on their Throwback Menu. It was a good attempt at making the Bun Taco, but the only location that makes it perfectly is in Barstow off Lenwood Avenue. You can tell that the crew are well-trained and supervised. Avoid the drive thru during lunch - it backs up pretty long and blocks traffic. I stick to the classics- chili cheese fries (deluxe, of course) chicken soft tacos, quesadillas, beef tacos, nachos, classic chicken burrito, and the oft-overlooked Double Del Cheeseburger - one of the best fast-food burgers at a great price that you would not expect from a "Mexican" joint. This has been and always will be the "home base" Del Taco location for me. At least since 2007. Lucky for me, it still is the best location out of all of the ones I have visited, even since the 90s. As far as I know it was the first location in the area to get a salsa bar (since corporate is just down the street). I've never had an issue with the service or the food, which seems much fresher. I'm not a fan of the remodeling job though. Having a 24 hour dining room is also a plus. read more

I've never had anything bad tasting from Del Taco. You cannot beat the prices. The tacos are cheap, and even the burgers are tasty. For those who think Americanized Mexican food places can't produce a good burger, i saw bahhh! They can indeed. It's a Del Taco. It's not much different than most of the other branches with a salsa bar. But it doesn't have a Coke Freestyle, it has one of those standard drink selection dispensers. The staff was nice and they accepted all of our coupons in one order so we didn't have to pay separately. Though one of our previous visits felt like we didn't have enough stuff on our nachos. I order, I pay, wait several seconds and bam! my food's ready. I LOVE this Del Taco! They've got a 24-hour drive thru and even though I don't go there at weird hours, my sister sometimes does LOL! When I'm in the area going to the craft stores I like HAVE to stop here. I'm a big Del Taco fan, and well it's near my craft stores. Today I actually went inside the restaurant. I usually use the drive-thru, but my sister wanted to chat about stuff over lunch (and because there was a huge line in the drive-thru). BEWARE THE LUNCH RUSH! Like we thought going inside would be faster, but actually it wasn't but it was alright because we were gonna chat and check our facebook messages while we waited and ate. They advertise that they have fresh ingredients and OMG THEY DO! There was a fridge right behind the counter full of fresh ingredients and a huge block of cheese! Like, the block was bigger than my cat! (And I've got a BIG cat :3 lol!) Anyways, my sister bought a cheese quesadilla while I tried the new Chicken Street Taco. They've got a really sweet salsa bar (sweet as in "cool" just to clarify) and iced tea which I love. But yeah, we went during the lunch rush so all the orders were called out not in numerical order. So busy, but that gave us time to talk about our Christmas plans and show each other funny meme pics from Facebook. This place has a play place for kids too. So let me tell you guys a story. Me and some friends were looking for fine dining establishments around midnight on christmas day and we quickly came to the conclusion that nothing is open. Except for del taco. As we approached the property we decided we wanted to eat inside like any paying customer should be entitled to. The door was cracked open and we proceeded inside. Things escalated quickly as I turned around the corner and locked eyes with a large indian man who saved no time in asking us how we entered the establishment. We told him, through the door! It was open! He then followed with "You guys gotta go!!!" with an extremely rude tone. We apologized very briefly and hightailed it towards the door followed by the indian man locking it right behind us and staring us down as if we were in the wrong. We then decided to proceed to the drive through so that we could get our food. The real question is, what is their to hide?!? We were in and out the door within a span of 10 seconds. Why were they in such a rush to get us out of the building? Unacceptable customer service and it borderline makes me sick that people can act this way on a day so holy. I will not be returning to this location, as my special holiday was ruined. To top it all off, when we got through the drive through after being stared down while waiting, my french fries were cold and soggy and seemed to fried in old oil. My water cup also seemed to be tainted with something other than water, as if they didn't clean the dispenser. I write this review to warn anybody looking to visit this location, horrible customer service and soggy food. Hospitality training should be implemented not just at this location but at all Del taco locations. Not how I wanted to spend my rainy christmas day during my first week in town for months. Went there this morning to order egg burritos, but it was after 11:00am. I was told, at the drive through, that I couldn't order breakfast items after that time. The employees at this location need to learn some serious customer service skills. I was here last night and wasn't greeted when I walked in or acknowledged when I stood at the counter. One employee saw me, smiled, and carried on taking orders at the drive thru. No problem, I understand she was busy at the time. However, when she was done with the drive thru order she engaged in conversation with two other employees who also saw me standing behind the counter. It took a few minutes before one of them finally asked if my order had been taken to which I replied no. When she heard this, the first employee who smiled at me said "Oh sorry", but it did not sound (or look) like a genuine apology. So then I proceeded to order and the employee taking my order didn't seem real helpful or friendly. In fact, I think she was in a hurry to get back to her other two coworkers because she continued a conversation on the headset she was wearing IN FRONT OF ME. This is my first review of a fast food joint but I felt this store warranted one. I go here during my break at work pretty often. Its a tough choice between the uncommon Chic-fil-A and the always tasty Del. I usually choose Del because it has a much more extensive menu and the food is cheap and dank. I would like to draw everyone's attention to the unsung hero of the Del Taco menu. Oh sure everyone loves the chicken soft taco at 99 cents, or the delicious Big Fat Steak Taco. Perhaps the Spicy Jack Quesadilla or a Del Combo Burrito. But very few go for the Double Del Cheeseburger. Yes it is a burger at a fast food mexican place. If Taco Bell came out with a burger, I too would be skeptical. But a friend quelled my fears and suggested I try one a few years back. It is so surprisingly good. I actually have to say that I would go for this burger (or the Bacon version or triple if I'm really feelin it) over nearly every competitor (BK, Carl's, Mc D's, or Jack). The pro's are that it has Thousand Island which is great on a burger. The burger is always hot with melted cheese unlike most other places that give you a lukewarm burger. It tastes fresh which is again quite surprising. Just thought I'd give the burger a shout out since few do. Great for advanced cases of the munchies. read more
