Really would've given them 3 stars but it's hard being a Long Island, New Yorker who now lives in Manhattan and then eat Italian elsewhere. Pizza was a 3.8 (one bite, everyone knows the rules). Wasn't thin enough and frankly the sauce could've used a little more zip. Had a sweetness to it that I am not partial too. Despite my score, it's absolutely edible. Definitely not the worst I've had here. As for the caprese salad - skip it. That's not a caprese. What the hell is that mozzarella? Were those tomatoes left over from a hero they didn't make? The garlic knots were good, it's hard to mess those up, but I've had bad ones before and these aren't them. The Mac and cheese, pretty good. Sauce seemed like it was made from scratch. The wings are probably better fresh. Had mine delivered via doordash. I mixed the buffalo and bbq sauce. Probably will just get one or the other next time. Zero heat from the buffalo. I have eaten here for years and always loved it. The past 3 times I have ordered food with y'all, my order has been wrong or i have been given someone else's order. When i bring it back I always get told it will be a couple of minutes when they really mean 40-60 minutes. Recently i walked to pick up, the order was wrong when i got home so i walked back to correct it. I waited 45 minutes for them to remake my food. When i finally got home to eat dinner the alfredos were water, basically soup. The eggplant dish was missing eggplant. It was only noodles, cheese and little sauce and the garlic knots were stale and cold. I love y'all and want to keep eating here, but these past few times have put a bad taste in my mouth. When you mess up an order please try and make up for it instead of making me wait for cold food. read more

Wonderful local Italian restaurant! Tried so many things, and every sauce we tried was perfect!

I hate to leave this because I have eaten take out and delivery from here so many times and always liked it but the service I had was just so disappointing this evening. We ordered through a third party delivery service and the drive left half of our order at the restaurant. That was on the driver... fine. I called and asked for an update and heard someone in the background say the driver made a mistake. Instead of just telling me I got put on hold. I get it, might have someone upset. I just wanted to know what was happening. Finally, no apologies. Just that it will be here soon. Two slices of kids pizza show up 35 minutes after first half of our order arrived so 45 minutes to an hour since it was ready at the restaurant. I open the box... it was the original pizza! Cold and disgusting looking. It had to have been sitting out for nearly an hour. How do you serve food that sat out for an hour! It was two slices of cheese pizza, you couldn't throw in something fresh! I call and their response... the third party service will refund you it was their mistake. Awesome. Thanks. This is a tiny place but big on flavor. I ordered a small spinach salad and my husband ordered a small Caesar. Both were huge and we could have probably split one. The salads were very fresh and tasty. For my entree I ordered the tomato basil pasta because, you know, I love basil. This was so fresh and was made with bow tie pasta. Mike got the lasagna. He said it may have been the best he's ever had except it had a lot of cheese. Which, no problem, you can just push that to the side. Servings are large, we have wonderful leftovers for tomorrow. They were very busy and have carry out, delivery, and do catering. When we were trying to order the young lady was interrupted several times with phone calls and orders coming out of the kitchen. I was looking for a good hot Italian hoagie which most pizza places don't have. I search anytime I go out of town and I struck gold here. Soooooo good. Perfect amount of meat fresh veggies and home made Italian dressing. The best part is they actually baked it for a good while so it was hot throughout and the bread was perfectly toasted. In that case, I'd much rather see classic round pieces of pepperoni. The crust and sauce was pretty good. My biggest complaint was the order of garlic knots. The worst Ive ever had. FIRST OF ALL, we weren't greeted upon entering the restaurant. Having never been there before we did not know how the restaurant operated. Well it's an awkward set up. You order at the counter, sit down, and then you have a waiter. My simple order of pizza, garlic knots, and cheese cake was incorrect. I had to ask multiple time for a plate to eat my pizza on. Servers were not pleasant. Food wasn't tasty, and was over priced considering the poor quality. Garlic knots nearly chipped all my teeth out they were so hard. When desert arrive no silverware was provided, I had to chase the waitress down for a fork, she never brought the fork, so I had to eat dessert with a knife. Water was never refilled. No air conditioning in the restaurant, not even the fan was on. In summary bad service, pour quality food, and you'll sweat your balls off as you eat. read more

I'm not sure how to explain this, other than, I LIKE THIS PLACE! Asheville is such a pizza town. It seems like Starbucks in other cities, sometimes two of them in the same intersection, only pizzeria's not coffee. Pizza and Breweries, Pizza and Breweries....it's an Asheville thing. I wish I didn't love pizza the way that I do. It's unhealthy! Del Vecchios is really good food. I love their pizza, because, as we've established, I have a problem. I have tried their ravioli and they have great meatballs. I'm going to keep returning until I find something I dislike. On a negative note; parking sucks! It's not just the lack of parking. The parking lot is small and very hard to turn into when full. You must also look closely for the driveway while trying not to get killed on Merrimon Avenue. If you love an adrenaline rush before dinner, this is your place! I love this place regardless of the parking issue. The service is good. The menu is very long. If you're still "looking," they are very patient. Most people order Del Vecchios for delivery or take-out. The dining room is very small. I will keep returning for lunch and dinner. read more

I just finished a cold, soggy, and flavorlous meal that took almost 2 hours to get to my apartment on a wednesday night. I paid almost 50 dollars including the delivery fee and tip. For starters, their items are heavily overpriced for such lighthanded ingredients. The tirimusu is 4 bucks and is roughly the size of an air hockey puck. The dough they use is like wonderbread and is weirdly rubbery like a cheap base with very high gluten content. I called and was told that they were very busy and only had two drivers. So in my head I see each driver maybe taking 3 deliveries probably 4 at a time if it's that bad. I would have rather received a call that my food would be later and the driver make a few trips instead so it would be fresh. Anyway, I spoke to Matt who was a really nice guy. He even called me back after he had credited my order for next time and offered to make me a big pizza! Thanks Matt, I appreciate that. and I understand that a refund was probably impossible with old credit card systems. But I would have rather been refunded. I love ordering their greek salad and antipasti. Both of which will usually last me for two meals since it comes with two fresh baked garlic knots. That's right, I said garlic knots. YUM! Sometimes I go a little crazy and order a side of garlic knots (super cheap) and end up only eating those... I know, it's a problem.
