After seeing no updates for a while, I called the restaurant 3 times to check on my order over the course of 30 minutes each time saying they would get back to me but never did. Ordered over $95 last night...very disappointed. Panini very dry and chips way, way too salty. I could not eat the chips or panini. Salad very good, but no extra dressing, as ordered. Stopped here on a whim , it's next to a comic book shop that is pretty outstanding . Delicious smells greet you as you enter . It had the feel of a true nyc style pizza place . They offer Sicilian pies and the entire menu looked very tempting to try next time . The slices were big and made correctly in a real pizza oven , unlike conveyer belt pizza . The crust was superb, just the way it should be the slices were very thin , I prefer thin crust , I'd prefer it to be just a wee bit thicker . It is small and cramped and other business owners in the plaza have reserved a number of the spots for their customers only. It's a problem when there are only a handful of spaces to park for the whole shopping plaza. I love Del Vecchios both for their delivery option and their delicious food! We order takeout from them every few weeks. I feel they are always honest on the phone about speed (one day was a snow day so of course Asheville freaked out and needed their delivery pizza and they told us it would be quite a while), you can pay when they deliver - is a great option, and it is tasty and reasonably priced. Recently, I had them cater a work lunch. Everyone raved about both the pizza and even more so the salad. The kind folks at Del Vecchios made sure we had three huge containers of various dressings so everyone could have something they liked. The salad itself was great and had so many yummy toppings including my fave, pickled onions (insert drool emoji). I usually go for a plain cheese pizza and am always more than satisfied. read more

We ordered for pick up. Our order was ready earlier than the estimated time, and I appreciate that! We got the garlic knots. I wish they were a little more fresh. A little refresh in the microwave made them nice and soft again, so I can't complain! They had just the right amount of garlic/parm and the marinara was very, very flavorful and complemented the knots. I almost ate the marinara by itself. The cheese pizza was SO GOOD! The proportion of sauce to cheese without making the dough soggy was perfect. I was not a fan of the supreme toppings, however, I did read the description and decided to order anyways. I opted to 86 the olives, but you gotta give it to a business who knows how to spread the toppings evenly throughout a pizza and not just in the center making the pizza soggy. The toppings were very, very generous and the pizza was cooked well. The prices are higher than the pizza chains, but do realize you're paying to keep a local restaurant in business and I am willing to support that! We ordered delivery and I'm not sure whose error it was, Del Vecchios or Grub Hub. When we reviewed our order (about 1 1/2 hours later) it was someone else's order which had their name, address and code to get into their apartment. That could be a bad situation in the wrong persons hands. We ordered chicken fettuccine, chicken Parmesan calzone, and a slice of cheesecake. What came was pepperoni Stromboli, maybe chicken parm calzone and cheesecake. The calzone had an enormous amount of ricotta cheese. The Stromboli was actually really good. Del Vecchios was super nice and did send out the correct order. So almost an hour later we got it. My husband said the calzone tasted better. The Alfredo was ok, just like out of the jar. I have to say, this place doesn't skimp on toppings either. It's almost too much. Every thing seems to be evenly proportionate as far as taste goes with ingredients. It's crazy how they do it. Absolutely our favorite pizza joint in town!!! Anything on the menu is deliciously cooked to perfection and the staff is always very friendly. (Their margherita pizza and wings are our go to choices) If you haven't haven't eaten here yet... give it a shot, you won't be disappointed.
