    Fried green tomatoes special appetizer
    Julie F.

This was our first night's dinner on arrival in St Simons. The upscale restaurant had been recommended from an online Facebook group. Otherwise, I would not have known about it as the restaurant doesn't appear in most of the usual tourist publications. We had a very good dinner experience. We started by sharing one of their daily specials -- a fried green tomato appetizer with two tomato slices topped with cheese and shrimp. And a unique salad dressing. It was quite tasty. For my main entree, I selected their duck. The sauce for it changes daily. The chili one for the evening didn't appeal and the chef was nice enough to prepare a gran marnier version. The super sized portion of sliced duck breast meat was cooked to my preference. It was delicious and served with baby thin asparagus spears and curried rice. My husband had their fois gras appetizer as his entree. It was buttery soft and served with a unique sour grape sauce. As he was not that hungry, he said it was the perfect size. Service was professional. The chef is creative with many off menu items. It was a nice location for a celebration or special occasion.

Was visiting from Montana and ended up at Delaney's for dinner. Our server was Kevin (aka KK) and he was absolutely phenomenal. Made our dining experience the best we had all week. When back in the area, I will definitely be back to try something else as the menu had so many amazing meals.

First night on the island and a great start with dinner here. Friendly staff and our server Matthew was very knowledgeable and well versed on the many specials and appetizers available. Matthew even was quick to note my wife's preference of sauces to go with her Duck (off the bone) and asked the Chef to prepare a Grand Marnier reduction to substitute for the sweet chili sauce featured. We shared the Fried Green Tomatoes that came with two huge Georgia Shrimp atop the two slices of perfectly fried Green Tomatoes with a light remoulade sauce. I chose the Foie Gras in a sour grape sauce which was marvelous! Soft and buttery foie gras that just melted in your mouth. I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc (New Zealand) to go with my meal that was very good. There were many desserts to choose from like Key Lime Pie with White Chocolate topping, Coconut Cream Pie, Chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse topping. We were too full this time around, but perhaps next time...

Beautiful restaurant with clean decor, dishes and bathrooms. I went here with 3 coworkers on a Saturday night. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. This restaurant is small and it was jam-packed with people making it loud. It's worth noting is that the median age of the average customer this particular evening was about 62 and the median income was somewhere between 80k-100k. I even made a joke about my friend being the only Mexican guy to have entered through their doors in the past 5 years. Oops We had to ask specifically for the wine and cocktail lists which seemed a bit tacky of the waiter not bring them immediately. Additionally, the waiter had to recite about 20 different specials for the evening between the appetizers and entrees; I thought it was playful of the chefs to have so many specials; but also annoying to have to listen to 20 different menu options. The wine was great and we ordered the goat cheese appetizer to start. We all ordered various types of filets. The steaks came out perfect!! Cooked to each our specifications and delicious. For dessert we shared the lemon cake, key lime tart and creme brûlée. I would've given 5 stars but I felt some judgment from the workers and other customers about our group of late 20-somethings.

This is an elegant Tea Room styled restaurant where we just had the most delightful lunch ever. We were told that the scallops would be the best we would ever eat in our lives. And they were not exaggerating. Dessert was blueberry white chocolate cheesecake for my wife, and I had peach pie a la mode. Absolutely wonderful!

Food and service is amazing. Bartender was extremely helpful with the menu. Dining at Delaney's is like eating at Hollywood Blvd in Los Angela's but with a small town welcome feel at home vibe. Thank You Col. John Campbell for your kindness and giving us the opportunity to experience such a great place.

The seating was plush and comfortable and the tables are spaced far enough apart that you enjoy your own conversation without hearing everyone else's at the same time- a big plus in my book. Our server, Cameron, took the best care of us, answering questions and making suggestions that ensured everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. They offer a happy hour for cocktails and small plates even on Saturday which we all took advantage of! Between the group we sampled a large portion of the menu and the only thing we didn't LOVE was the steak Kushiyaki (skewered grilled meat). The steak was too tough and smoky for our tastes, but every other dish and drink we would absolutely recommend! Some standouts were the Szechuan noodles, the salmon and Hamachi crudo, the tuna tartare and surprisingly? The burger and fries! I will definitely be back next time I'm in the area!

There is a mixture of booth and table with Chair seating Hailey provided us with excellent service for our meal. The wife, daughter and I all ordered the Scored fried Whole Flounder. They dish is offered either dipped in flour or dusted with cornmeal. Since we never had Flounder with cornmeal before we all went in that direction. Compared to scored whole flounder with flour, having it dusted in cornmeal was much lighter then flour without sacrificing the crispiness this dish demands. For sides, the wife ordered battered Potatoes and slaw, I had battered Potatoes and Corn on the Cob, while the daughter went with Fried Okra and slaw. All three of us left, fat, happy and satisfied.

Stellar cocktails, friendly service, great views, modern design aesthetic, and incredible food. My only gripe is that they do not take reservations, though even on a Friday night, I've been able to get seated within 20-30 minutes, and you can always grab a drink from the bar and hang out on the lawn while you wait. This most recent visit, I started with the seafood chowder, one of my favorite soups on the island. Creamy, hearty, with plenty of fish, shrimp, crab, and potatoes. Shared a crabcake with my girlfriend--another solid choice, with plenty of crab, not too heavy on the filling, and with a lovely remoulade. For mains, we both had the grilled redfish, a baked potato for me, and mixed veggies for her. Perfectly cooked pieces of fish with a nice crust on the outside while still being moist and tender. Dessert this time was the chocolate pie, which was quite nice, not being too heavy nor excessively sweet. Did I mention the cocktails? I'm a big fan of the smokey mango Fiddlerita (a mezcal take on the classic marg), and the saladito a close second (again, mezcal, but with a little honey and cayenne). The girlfriend enjoys the basil smash (hold the simple syrup, please). Previously, we've tried the artichoke dip, which is also fantastic, shrimp and grits (solid, but Reid's does it better), blackened tripletail over creamy leek sauce (a special, and special indeed), and the key lime pie (excellent). You really can't go wrong here.

We arrived for an early dinner and we're greeted by the hostess and bartender. Everyone was very welcoming and they offered us seating anywhere in the bar area. Even though we didn't have a reservation, we were offered seating in the dining room. Once we were seated, we ordered wine and the Apple, Pecan, and goat cheese salad (split in two plates). The server brought us both a very nice portion and we thoroughly enjoyed the salad as it was fresh and very tasty. My wife ordered the Shrimp and Grits which they are known for as being notable and I ordered the Seafood Pot Pie. The shrimp and grits were excellent with a heap of blackened shrimp over a flavorful Gouda course grits. The shrimp were cooked just right. The seafood pot pie had the blue crab bisque as the base and loaded with shrimp, white fish, salmon, and small scallops. It was topped with a puffed pastry square. The pot pie was also an excellent dish that I would definitely recommend. Next time I may come back for the crab bisque as an appetizer. This is a very nice place, with great atmosphere, and very friendly service. I would give it a 5.0 and recommend you try it.
