I am from NY, so when I hear deli, my mouth moist sin an unexplainable manner; all on its own, my tongue tingles and starts salivating, for a sense of some of that NY deli taste. This place delivers. It's delicious, it's prompt, it's a real deli. The person behind the counter on Friday night, offered me other items they had at the store, that I had not considered. I will definitely repeat my visit there, and I will absolutely try other items, although I must say, the sweet and smoky was bomb AF!!! For my next visit I plan on trying the Chipotle so gouda sammich, and then the FA; That's the name, FA. Just before going on a hike in the Jamul area, I was looking for a non-chain sandwich shop en route and Deli Belly was the only one that I could find that was open on Sunday. It's tucked into a nondescript strip mall and I initially went right past it before making a u-turn on Jamacha to track it down. I had the Chipotle So Gouda on a Onion roll. The bread was really good and the sandwich had a decent amount of chicken. I didn't get the mayo spread and wish there were more avocados to make up for the lack of a spread. Maybe next time, I'll add a little mustard or oil & vinegar. I'd like to try some of their other sandwich selections should I ever happen to be in this neck of the woods again. read more

This was the only deli I found open on a Sunday in El Cajon that wasn't a chain. Their menu is basic and to the point which I appreciate. The have a half dozen signature sandwiches. The guy behind the counter was very personable at helpful. I ended up getting two of the signature sandwiches. The Chipotle So Gouda and Frankie Carbone, both on onion buns. Both sandwiches were great. My wife and I shared half of each. The chipotle is very evident in the Chipotle So Gouda and the Frankie Carbone is essentially a classic Italian made well. No cons about this place, better than the average but missing the wow factor. I would consider this a repeat and reliable place. read more

The dude on the phone was super helpful since I was a first-timer, and the chick who rang me up when I came in to pick up was great, too. My only complaint is that on a veggie sandwich, the veggies could be piled on a little higher. With that being said, the staff was great and the other reviews are so good, so I'm sure they would accommodate next time if I asked for just a little more lettuce and sprouts. The two ladies there that day were helpful guiding me to the best sandwich for me, they were kind and helpful, and made an amazing toasted turkey avocado sandwich. It's a nice clean spot to sit down for lunch - inside and outside seating. The manager came through and you can tell that he cares about his shop. Just tried deli belly for the first time cause my friends kept raving about it. I got the chipotle chicken with chipotle sauce and cheese on brown bread. The meat and cheese were both delicious however the bread was definitely old. It was a little hard and didn't taste fresh. Other than that maybe it was just the day we got it. Also make sure you tell them to toast your sandwich while the meat and cheese is on there otherwise they'll just toast your bread lmao I was mind blown: maybe the employee was new. Wow! Sadly, I actually have to give one star to write a review. Totally speechless! I got a private message from a woman who says she's the manager of this Deli Belly location. Initially, she was very concerned that employees were not adhering to mask mandates. I updated her on our experience, including the date and time my husband was there. I even stopped in Friday January 20, 2022 at approximately 3:30 PM. There were 2 employees behind the counter. One young male and a young female. Neither were wearing masks when I entered the location. The male employee did put on a mask when he saw I was putting mine on. The female never did and she was the one preparing the food. I updated the manager regarding the situation in private message, only to be told there was no male employee working that day at that time. So, not only do they not adhere to the mask mandates but claim they do, I'm literally being called a liar. Sorry, manager of Deli Belly on Jamacha Rd in Rancho San Diego, there was a male employee working at that time. Either that, or you allow non-employees behind the counter. And he was not a vendor. Excellent sandwiches. I would have never expected a place as good as this to be located in this older mall. The food tasted delicious and fresh. They have plenty of choices in terms of sandwiches and bread, as well as being able to customize your own, but I highly recommend ordering from their signature sandwiches. The Chipotle So Gouda is my top favorite with a nice spicy kick to it. Everyone who worked there was also very friendly. They have a good selection of sandwiches and wraps. They are a little pricey almost $9 for just the sandwich. They are pretty big though. I think they need to redo the menu board as the descriptions are microscopic. I'm young and it was hard to read. Make them larger please. read more

I came by today because my belly was feeling some deli and I happen to find this great spot in rancho San Diego called deli belly. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by these two amazing sandwich artists, If I only got their names but they working at night. The way they were working on the sandwiches I could of sworn it was or Picasso and Michelangelo making art pieces. The sandwich looked like the Mona Lisa and it tasted like heaven on earth. Ive tried a quite a few delis here in san diego and this is by far my best find!! They use all boars head meats... I got the hot hot pastrami and usually delis microwave it but they had some type of steamer for meats which didnt dry out the meat!!! All in all the place is clean, staff is friendly and the prices are very reasonable for the portions !! Will def go back. read more
