Took my Chevy Cruze to Winters with reports from the previous mechanic shop for repair. They advised a diagnostic thereafter they recommend the same repairs that had already been done stating that there was a failure with the previous repair. I approved the recommended repair only to drive off experiencing the same issue that I initially brought the car in for. Thereafter I returned the car, they explained that there were issues with the catalytic converter and the transmission, issues that should have been detected with the initial diagnostic. Thereafter I sent a email to the service provider in which he denied there was any wrongdoing on their behalf and that the initial diagnostic detected the initial issue. I beg the differ. DO NOT TALE YOUR CAR TO WINTER CHEVY WINTER FOR REPAIR! Less than satisfactory service no accountability. read more

I took my truck in because I was experiencing severe missing. I paid $235.00 for Winter to diagnose the problem. If they actually tried to diagnose the problem, they did it incorrectly. They immediately started to replace parts. After having the truck for a week, there was no change in the operation of the vehicle. They charged me $1,835.36 and had not corrected the problem they were contracted for. My grandson spent 30 minutes, determined the cause and corrected it. This cost me approximately $50.00. The truck is again running great. The actual cause was a faulty operating oxygen sensor. I took the truck back to Winter to let them know the actual cause of the problem. They were not interested. They wanted me to leave the truck so they could research the problem that was already fixed and then charge me their overly inflated rate. One star is too high of a rating for this repair shop. read more

At first I was a little uneasy at spending the amount of money I spent on the repairs. Mark Anderson went above and beyond plus he got my crappy aftermarket warranty to cover over $6000 of the repair not to mention why they had it apart helped me with other things that were due for the amount of mileage that was on my vehicle. All the techs had over 50 plus hours a huge oil leak, bad transmission, timing belt, rear main seal. It's been over two weeks w zero issues and I love my truck again. What started out as a great experience , ended up a disaster of a vehicle purchase I will regret forever. We visited this dealership because we had purchased two other vehicles from them, granted it was about 17 years and 20 years ago. Those purchases and service were fabulous. We visited Winter Chevrolet and another dealership several times in January 2025 looking to replace a Honda I gave to our granddaughter as a first car for her. We visited Winter Chevrolet in person and worked with Joe Sadler, one of the sales reps. on 1/10, 1/11,1/12 in person, as we did the other dealership comparing offers, interest rates and warranties. Decided to go with Winter Chevrolet. Joe was great those days. Completed the loan paperwork and were scheduled to pick up the vehicle on 1/13 so they could detail the vehicle, their definition of a detail we found out is a wash and wax, pffff. We drive there Tuesday 1/14 and when we get there Joe tells us there's small dent on the back bumper. This issue did not show up on the Carfax report. It takes us 30 minutes to drive to the dealership, btw. He could have contacted us before driving there to inform us, but chose not to. When we first looked at the car it was evening and the car was not washed, they had just invoiced/purchased the car two days before, none of us saw the small debt. Joe handed me a copy of our approved and signed loan contract in a manilla envelope. I didn't review the copy until we got home...we were approved, had a great rate. Not concerned about the paperwork. 1/17 we're were able to pick up the car after the dealership had one of those dent repair/pro dudes fix the dent...but the paint repair had orange peel. I could have done a better job.Should have revoked the purchase then. When I looked at the copy of the loan paperwork, I was given someone else's paperwork, so I'm pretty sure that individual was given ours!!! I spent 35 years in the financial industry, this was unbelievable! Then they give us the keys to the car, one in my hand and the other in the manilla envelope. Get home, try check the second key, it wasn't for my car, it was for a 2018 Accord, unbelievable!!! So now we need to make another appointment and drive there for the fifth time to get a new second key. During the phone call to schedule an appointment to complete this, Joe whines that these issues are not his fault. He's done his job, whining like a four year old, passes me off to Jason Hilker who tells me they're just trying to help me and hangs up on me!! I need to add that during one of our visits to the dealership, Joe and Jason were bickering with each other. I had to say, hey this is a workplace and harassment is not allowed, especially in front of customers, I was astonished this was happening in front of us. It unbelievable. We would not have needed to deal with the key issues, their unpleasant, unprofessional behavior if they knew how to represent a dealership and customer service.The worst experience ever! Was recommended by my neighbor to ask for "Sam" so this guy is straight forward no B.S. we had a truck in mind but it was sold before we started papear work and Sam said he would work hard to find us another truck , and an hour or so later he called us and found us the exact same truck! It was already late in the evening and he work his hardest to get the deal done for us! "Sam the man" made us feel welcomed, and along the way we had a ton of laughs along with the rest of the guys there that were working that evening we all had some Good laughs we opted to just pick up the truck the next day , but we forgot that we traded in our vehicle to get this one, As we struggled to find us a ride Sam went out of his way and gave us a ride home! Called Dennis on the 16th (Friday) to get key fob programmed, ac checked and spark plugs and wires replaced he assured me this could be done by Tuesday no later as I needed the truck during the week. I dropped my truck off the following morning no later then 10 am I later recieved a call around 330 pm stating that one of the spark plugs was giving them issues they might need to remove the wheel well to better access it that the foreman mechanic was not in the shop and he would take a look at it on Monday and give me a call to authorize whether they needed that extra hour of labor I said that was fine so Monday came and I didn't recieve a call figured they were busy so I called around 12:30 when I called Dennis was not working and the man who answered had no idea of my truck even being there and said he would get it figured out and call me back when he called me back it was with the mechanic (tom)who clearly said spark plugs got cross threaded and that he didn't wanna touch it to give up on the truck cause it has 190k miles with no solution for my issues with my truck so I said that's fine can I come get it now then u don't need to do the other work I asked for I'll come get it tom said that everything was already taken apart and could not be completed that Monday it would have to wait until Tuesday it was more of a statement so I had no choice but to say yea just put everything back how it was at this point I'm frustrated cause clearly I'm just a customer with a high mileage truck they don't want to work on so Tuesday comes I'm thinkin Dennis will call me since he's back at work but no I get no call Tuesday or Wednesday mind u I have no transportation so Thursday I show up and find out that they replaced everything with new parts besides the one that was cross threaded and were still trying to charge me the full amount for parts and labor I spoke to Rolando the service manager and he explained that as they removed each spark plug the put a new one in and so forth and that's why I was being charged the full amount which wasn't the case or I would have been able to get my truck that Monday if the mechanic didn't tell me everything was taken apart and it would get done the following day at this point my wife is walking my 1 yr old daughter around the lot cause she tired of being in her car seat I thought this would be me just picking up my truck so I told Rolando the service manager that I had to leave he told me he'd work on adjusting my charges I returned the following day Rolando was not there unfortunately and Dennis gave me a receipt showing an adjustment of 25$ and a total of over 700 I rejected that and said I would speak to Rolando when he was back in the shop I called Rolando numerous time to no success now it the 27th they've had my truck for 11days on a 3 day promised turnaround move forward to the 29th I finally get a call back from Rolando which of course I missed he leaves me a voicemail stating that he's returning my call and if I would like to call him back I try to no success on Friday so Monday I got in luckily my wife had the day off I go speak with Rolando he understands he tries his best to resolve any further issues and resolves the over charge for spark plugs and get my key fob programmed for the previously stated price so I'm happy thinking I'm gettin my truck back atleast later that day no not the case call Tuesday morning again have to leave a voicemail and letter Rolando call me back says I'm able to pick it up I pick up my truck and realize on the drive home I got ants in my pants I get home only to find ants all over my truck and I could understand if my truck was filthy but it wasn't and these ants have now been infested for two day raid and these ant bait traps just aren't working winter Chevrolet treated me like trash throughout this whole process and I would never recommend bringing in anything used to this dealership the mechanics must only know how to work on brand new trucks and if it's not they'll treat it and you like a piece of trash which I'm pretty sure my truck was parked next to a dumpster the whole three weeks they had it outside was filthy bird crap all over and inside full of ants seems intentional I've had this truck nine years and never had an ant problem I hate winter Chevrolet with a passion and will never bring any of my Chevys to this dealership Ever again wish I would have read yelp reviews before I came here I can only blame myself hopefully this review saves someone else the hassle I went through read more

Avoid this dealership like the plague... My Dad brought his truck here because it wasn't running right. They charged him over $1,800, replaced what they said was wrong and then after he paid the bill he tried driving home and the truck ran exactly the same as it did when he brought it in... He made a U-turn and went back to then they told him it needed a bunch of more things done to it... For more money of course... He took it home and called me. My son and I diagnosed the truck ourselves and found out that all it needed was a $40 part... And this part isn't even one of the things they told him that he needed... Winter Chevrolet mechanics do not know how to troubleshoot cars... All that they do is replace parts until they find which part could fix the problem. Shame on them for ripping off a senior citizen and then sending him back home with a still broken truck... It took my son and I very little time to figure out what was wrong... I've had a number of issues with these guys. A few years ago they quoted me a lease price for a Volt. I double checked with the salesperson and got a ride to the dealership to get the car. Once I got there, they told me it was going to be higher. A manager got involved and told me the same thing. They made no attempt to rectify the situation or offer any kind of alternate offer (though that probably would've been illegal). I contacted GM corporate and they took care of me by matching the original price quoted and had Dublin Chevrolet handle the transaction. Fast forward a year or two and I gave Winter another shot and had some service work done (they are the closest dealer to me). That one went off without a hitch. Because of that, I gave them another shot when my lease was up. The salesperson was nice, but not very informed and not even remotely close to prices other dealers offered. In fact, the only other dealer that offered as bad of a price was Tracy Chevy. I ended up buying my Bolt from the dealer in Vallejo. The Bolt holds the title for the most recalled car I've owned. That's not on Winter and I understand things happen with cars with lots of new tech. However, my previously good experience with Winter's service department turned out to be an isolated incident. Without diving into 18 months of recalls with a variety of patches, vehicle limitations, and replacements, I had many encounters with Winter's service department. From the phones to the advisors to the managers, I dealt with a series of people who were unaware with a very widely publicized battery issue with the Bolt and unwilling to be bothered to listen and/or research in a timely manner. Calls were frequently not returned and timetables were often not met when work was performed. It got so bad on my last visit, that the guy from the parts department got involved and helped me out. On the other hand, I was being contacted by GM corporate customer reps on a weekly basis throughout the entire ordeal. I'm about 10-15 minutes away from Winter, and about 35-40 minutes away from Dublin, so logistically it's inconvenient not to be able to deal with my local dealer. Recently I got another recall notice for my Bolt. I tried calling Winter three different times today without one person that would pick up the phone. I called Dublin and quickly got an appointment scheduled for next week. I wish we had a better option in East County, but we don't. Unfortunately, I recommend driving a little further to have your GM needs addressed. read more

Then the salesman shifty shenanigans by the sales manager started and could not get a clear answer to simple questions. If they did not try to convince/pressure me that I should take another car and communicated without roundabout answers and middle school logic, they would have had a sale. This is the second time I had an issue with the Winter Chevrolet Service Dept. The first time I had my tires rotated, they broke a lug nut and I had to drive around with it broken for a week before they got the part in. This time, I took it in for a window repair. The window fell off the track while I was driving, the regulator went out after 19000 miles. When I picked up my vehicle, I was looking at the door, and I noticed it was scratched all around the door that the repair was done to. I spoke to service rep Mark Anderson, he replied with " how do you know it was Us". No, I'm sorry, no sense of customer service. I guess Service Reps don't have to provide customer service! I will not return to Winter Chevrolet for anything. He is the poorest form of a Service Rep that I have ever dealt with. read more

Do not use Winter Chevrolet. They cheat you with their extra warranty plan. They told me we had to come in and have the finance manager try to explain why we needed this plan. I even called our sales person and he never called us back. I just wanted to cancel; but, they want the money and do not want to help you. I now have been charged over a $1,000.00 for this plan that I called to cancelled. You do not need to go into the dealership. Just look at your credit card and call the number; and, they will email the cancellation instructions. The dealership is shady as can be when it comes to purchasing a car. Mark Anderson, a Service Advisor had me take my truck in on Monday, November 20th. The next day I called about 4:30 to find out the status. He told me it would not be looked at until the following week. I texted the next Monday afternoon with no response, so I called in around 4:30, he said he'd have info for me the next day. The next day I called, and I texted several times with no response. When I finally got a hold of him, he told me that I needed parts replaced and my bill would be about $2,600 with no reason as to why they needed to be replaced. I called and left the Service Manager messages several times with no response as in the following days, I could not get a hold of Mark. I called in that Thursday and was put on the phone with another Service Advisor, and I was finally told why the parts needed to be replaced. I texted and called Mark several times the next day with no response, so I drove from Oakley to Pitsburg to talk to him. Everything made sense and told him on my way home that I wanted to proceed with the work. I had a few questions the next week and since my texts were not responded to or calls returned, I drove out there again. I spoke to Mark, things seemed fine, and was told that my truck would be ready mid-next week. Mid next week came and since there was no point in calling or texting him, I drove out there again. I walked into his office and the first thing he said to me was, "What do you want now"? I told him I wanted to know what was going on with my truck, you said it would be ready. He proceeded to tell me that the company they had to send a part out to was closed until next Wednesday. Those two parts would not fit and they would not be able to do an alignment. I texted him and told him that since the parts had been taken off, then put back on and no alignment could be done, was it even safe to drive? I also asked if he could take measurements of existing parts and get them ordered or send the part out to someone who can replicate the part that's on it now so that I can get my truck fixed and an alignment is done. No response. At this point, I am ticked off that my truck has been there for what will eventually be over a month, and it won't be fixed. That every time I do get a text from Mark which is rare, it's in ALL CAPS, LIKE I AM ANNOYING HIM. Also, the "What do you want now" comment REALLY TICKED ME OFF! In 2014 I was looking for a new vehicle and came to Winter Chevrolet as the new Impala was just introduced. Winter had the car I wanted, however they were not willing to negotiate very much on the price. I ended up buying the car in Dublin. The car came with a maintenance package and because Winter is my local dealership I decided to use the service department at Winter. This is when I met Jim (parts department) and Don (service writer). I know most people do not use their local dealership because of the cost of labor and parts, however because of the amazing customer service from Jim and Don I continued to service my Impala and other GM vehicles at Winter. In 2019 I purchased a Cadillac and had it serviced at Winter after the maintenance package expired from Cadillac. Also in 2019, I experienced some major mechanical issues with my 2006 GMC Duramax. My service writer was Alex and the service manager was Carlos Lema. Because of my loyalty to Winter Carlos understood the repairs were going to be costly. I had to replace 8 fuel injectors and the turbo. Those who know diesel engines understand the enormous cost to these repairs. Carlos was beyond helpful and discounted the labor costs and Jim helped out tremendously with the costs of the parts. I called several local diesel repair shops to compare quotes and each told me they could not beat the dealerships quote or match the warranty offered by the dealership on the repairs. Fast forward to just recently (summer 2022) I was having some cooling issues on my 2006 Duramax. I feared a head gasket failure so took the truck to Winter for a diagnosis. I was told the water pump failed and quoted repair costs. I again called around and learned Winter's hourly rate is actually cheaper than most independent shops. However Winter quoted a few hours longer than the local shops. Overall the cost was within a few hundred dollars and I get a great warranty from the dealership. This review is strictly for the parts and service departments. I've never purchased a vehicle at Winter because they don't seem to be able to provide better pricing like the larger dealerships. If you need your vehicle serviced or like to replace parts on your GM vehicle with GM parts, you can't go wrong with Winter Chevrolet's parts and service departments. I recently enjoyed my first vehicle off the lot and I was very happy with the experience. I know this sounds short, but it is sweet; being able to purchase a car and then have the professionals double check the car thoroughly before you leave off the lot and notice that there was a problem with the car before you pull it off the lot, again. I have been a longtime customer and fan of Winter Honda. I met Rose Winter long ago when it was a smaller operation in Pittsburg. Throughout the years, she has accomplished expanding her empire. I believe she has done so with excellence and integrity- she is to be admired for what she built after her husband passed. This is the first time at Winter Chevrolet. This deals with the parts department. I had a parts advisor named Conrado( hope I got the name right?!). He gave service that was above and beyond which I like to recognize bc that is the kind of service I believe in giving and getting! He was kind, patient with our multitude of questions, coming out to look at our car because I was not sure of the kind of gas cap I had ( quarter turn vs full turn- apparently I have been turning and turning when it was a quarter turn so it now says "loose cap need to tighten" messages which affects oxygen sensors possibly and turns check engine light on again?). Well, I hope this does fix the problem and I will be so upset since spending so much for repairs and not one including the Concord dealer mentioned this. Someone ( a former dealer's mechanic and friend's son) recently told me this info, so a cheap fix I am willing to try- they said get the dealer one, not generic ones so no problems of loose fit, etc. So we shall see.... Back to Conrado- we got a lot of other parts to do tune up and air and engine filters, spark plugs, etc. Things for maintenance of the car. He helped us with all of it and the prices were actually decent not gouging like at usual dealers-found that with Winter. Honda as well. So if the prices were reasonable, I rather get the actual parts made for the specific car at the dealer then, if not much of a difference. They also can get major parts from Nevada in one day as well so good to know. Excellent service and Rose Winter's dealerships should be role models of excellence for other dealerships to aspire to- she must expect a higher standard from her employees and it shows- a true class act that reflects pride in her ownership! read more

I highly suggest if you are looking for someone to service your Chevy, to go elsewhere. Twice now, years apart, we've had the same very dangerous issue after getting our vehicles repaired or inspected here. A couple years ago, our truck's check engine light came on so we went here to get diagnostics and to have them to determine the issue. My husband decided to do the work himself, we picked up the truck and left, having to immediately pull over because there was a noise due to engine parts not being fully or at all tightened back in place. There was a whole plastic part actually missing we had to go back for. Then, again a few weeks back, we took a work vehicle here for repair. Not of our choosing at it was a work truck, but had to manage the process of picking up and dropping off. After pick up on the drive home my husband again called to say the truck was making a loud noise on the freeway and felt the breaks seemed off. When he got home, the tire had multiple bolts nearly all the way undone. We were able to fully take off the tire in less than a minute with little effort. What is worse, underneath was the compartment where the disc brakes were (I think it's called that, but don't quote me) was also completely undone and was likely what was making the banging noise. I cannot stress enough how completely irresponsible and negligent this is. I'm thankful my husband made it home without a horrible accident. So many things could've happened with this type of recklessness. Save yourself the hassle and find some where who will do the job right. read more

I went on the website and submitted my info for the truck I wanted and within 5 minutes I had received a call from Linda right away and was told I could drop by that same day at 6PM. I got the deal I wanted, plus a good service package and didn't have to haggle to get a really good deal. Melvin is my guy -- if we ever need another car, I'm calling him first.
