He was absolutely amazing -- friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel welcome from the moment we sat down. Having to run an afternoon errand in Brentwood, and not having had lunch yet, we realized our normal lunch place would be closed by the time we got there. So en route we checked our phone and found out a Denny's was nearby and open all afternoon. This would work. This Denny's is centrally located on Brentwood Boulevard, convenient for us. It was past the lunch hour, so we were seated immediately and quickly chose our order. I had the crazy-named Moon Over Hammy omelette, while my wife chose the vegetarian omelette. Service was fast and friendly, and we soon had our food. Both omelettes were tasty. The lunch also came with hashbrowns and several slices of buttered white toast. Omelette size was sufficient albeit not generous. Paying for the meal was a snap with a QR code provided on the receipt. I really like this method for the security and convenience. One of the better Denny's locations we've been to. The place is clean and staff is friendly. Our food has come quickly and orders have been correct both times we visited. The country fried steak is decent, although the gravy could have more flavor and it was slightly greasy this most recent time. (It was dinner hours vs breakfast hours, which maybe makes a difference?) My wife enjoyed the potato soup and my daughter loves the kids pancakes. I am beyond disappointed with what happened at Denny's in Brentwood on Tuesday 02/24/26 around 6:10 PM. I don't usually write reviews, but this experience was so frustrating and uncomfortable that it needs to be said. We waited 30 minutes just to be seated while multiple employees walked back and forth past us like we were invisible. Not one single acknowledgment. No greeting. No "we'll be right with you." Nothing. And let me be clear -- the restaurant was NOT busy. There were maybe two other families inside. After finally being seated, we then waited another 30-40 minutes just to be asked if we wanted a drink. That is absolutely ridiculous. At that point, it felt intentional. The "service" we received? * Took our order. * Dropped off the food. * Asked if we wanted the check. No refills. No check-ins. No "How is everything?" Nothing even remotely close to decent customer service. Meanwhile, we watched the waiter laughing, smiling, and having full conversations with the other families. Attentive. Engaged. Friendly. The contrast was obvious. We were treated completely differently. We are Hispanic. The other families were white. I don't want to assume anything, but when you're sitting there being ignored in a nearly empty restaurant while watching others receive warm, attentive service, it doesn't feel right. It feels uncomfortable. It feels dismissive. What makes this even more disappointing is that we usually come here in the mornings and the service is COMPLETELY different. Morning staff are attentive, welcoming, and professional. We've never had an issue before. That's why this was such a shock. The night shift experience felt like we were in a completely different restaurant. We came in expecting the same consistent service we've experienced before and instead left feeling disrespected and undervalued. This needs to be addressed. No customer should feel invisible. How was the food today? Wouldn't know. My family of 3 (with toddler) came in today around 5:30; not busy whatsoever. 1 party outside, 2 inside at the time of arrival, which they were already nearly finished. We were seated fairly quickly & received our drinks in a few minutes. We told the lady we were ready to order, as well, but she said that our waitress should be here soon. Okay, cool, no problem. While waiting for our waitress, another larger party came in & got seated. The waitress then came & took their order first. The lady that had seated us had let her know that we were here first. While the other tables order had been taken, another party had came in and been seated. The waitress had seemed to take their drink order and then finally came to take our order. She later then took that last tables order. Minutes later, the larger party, who had arrived after us, had received their food. Okay, sure. Then a few minutes later, the other table who had came way later than both my table and the other party had received their food. All at the same time, another table had been waiting, but never even got their drinks order taken, had left, in frustration. Of course, we were also frustrated. Being there before those 2 tables and them getting all their food first & being checked on multiple times, while we were waiting with my daughter who was getting cranky, and everyone knew it. Once we had enough of waiting, for about 40 minutes, we too decided to leave. We asked to just pay for the drinks, the waitress had said that the food is now coming out. Nope- we were done. And I'm not mad at the waitress, however, she could definitely have checked in on us & reassured us that the food was coming out soon, especially knowing that we were there first. I'm mad at management. Who was NOT there. Who had only put in 1 server to work. It is not the waitresses fault. She said she was also new, which I do believe. She had no help for a whole restaurant, dealing with tables & packing to-go and DoorDash orders. Management sucks. Also, the restaurant was hot, turn in the A/C, it's Brentwood. It's hot here, spring, summer, and fall. HOT. Additionally, the lighting was also very dim for a diner. It's a diner, not a fine dining restaurant. Lastly, but very minuscule, there was no music playing. It just sounded like a food court; people chatting, trying not to be too loud for others to hear, and hearing everything in the kitchen. Bacon was extra crispy and the sausage was also over cooked. Eggs were a fail. They were over cooked and dry. The saving grace was the pancake. My son ordered the chicken fried streak. When I saw that this Denny's had a rating of over 4 stars I had to check it out. Chain restaurants usually have the worst ratings out there so how was this the exception?? Well let me tell you! First off it's a newer location so they have a more modern style than you would typically see. Inside they have a cute Brentwood sign with lights as the lettering. This gives it more of a personal touch and makes it feel more homey. There is even outdoor seating with games such as Jenga, corn hole, and connect four. Not to mention the outdoor patio area is dog friendly! Something else that I have not seen at any other Denny's before is that they have bottomless mimosas on the weekend! I ordered a veggie omelette with hashbrowns and toast. My aunt ordered the biscuits and gravy. The food came out in a timely manner. The food was typical for dennys nothing out of the ordinary but we left satisfied. Remember you pay up front! It's been more than a decade since we have been to Denny's .... Wanted to try Denny's since it's new to Brentwood just 3 months back they opened... plus given the heat didn't want to drive far... Ample parking & very clean area inside & outside seating which we loved. Really loved the decor . There were few tables occupied so we got the booth which we wanted very comfortable seating. Our server greeted us with smile & checked on us regularly I felt all the staff were very friendly & polite towards the customers... I ordered the SantaFe Skillet - chorizo sausage , fire roasted bell peppers, onions , mushrooms & seasoned red skinned potatoes topped with cheddar cheese & eggs ( scrambled) . I really loved the dish potatoes were nice & crispy from outside but soft from inside, nice kick of spicy chorizo excellent combination. Husband ordered- Classic Benny breakfast which was just ok - didn't like the hollandaise sauce because of cheddar cheese taste it tasted very salty. Okay, so it's Denny's. Pretty much, you should manage your expectations and have a good idea on what you're getting in to. It's reliable, open at all hours and you can get breakfast any time. The latter was my main reason for stopping by on a late Sunday afternoon. It's definitely nice and clean and shiny new, having just opened a few months ago. However, with that newness, it seems they're also working out some kinks. I asked for no cheese on my omelette and they missed that and service was a bit slow-they didn't bring out refills or really come to check on us. They were fairly busy and it seemed a little chaotic. All of our food was delicious, and they did a split plate for my husband and I to share a burger and fries. They have a large outside patio that is dog and kid friendly! It had been quite awhile eating at Denny's. My wife and I used to eat there while we started dating. Since they build a Denny's nearby, so why not? This location has a nice outdoor patio which is also pet friendly. Food: We ordered the lumberjack slam, zesty nachos, blueberry waffle, country fried steak, and philly steak omelet. They were cooked and tasted very well which was a lot better than other Denny's we been to. Also, I really enjoyed the hash browns. Service: I would had gave a 4 star review, but the service totally sucked. The waitress was Maria. She took a long time coming back to take our orders. While eating our food, she never check in and asked if we needed refills. After finishing our food, she was so busy serving other tables and didn't gave us a check. I had to call her when she was serving the table next to us. I even noticed another waitress made eye contact at our table which she knew we were waiting, but didn't even help. Our waitress was friendly and all, but really need to work on her customer service. I wouldn't mind coming back here for breakfast again, but just hopefully the service will get much better for an updated review. read more

It was Mother's Day. We had a party of 21 (yep we were that group). The restaurant was clean, spacious, clean, not-greasy smelling, and did I mention clean? Waited for 40min, got 3 separate tables, in two separate sections. Kids and husbands sat in one section and the moms sat on the opposite end of the restaurant. Our waitress (God Bless Her Soul), took our orders and fed it to the cooks first. She was quick and efficient with our drink orders, and even split the milk shake orders into 4 kiddie cups for the moms who just wanted a little bit extra but not go overboard. The moms were famished. The food was amazing and arrived on clean and non greasy plates. We ate and licked our plates clean. Bathroom was clean. Service was great. The waitress left us alone and refilled water when it was low and brought us all the necessary things quickly. She was superb but I forgot her name. Recently opened Denny's just opened in Brentwood. And after being out late light after watching a play, we decided to try out Denny's. It being new, the cleanliness and the decor looks nice and spiffy. Form the looks of it, I think it was prom night and the restaurant was packed. The burnt end brisket and onion rings looked really good in the menu so I had to try those. Abigail had some burger, and mom had a grilled chicken sizzling plate. The brisket was mediocre, and the mishmash of onion rings was just esthetically pleasing. The bbq sauce was too sweet and feels out of place. Abby's hamburger and fries were alright, and mom's sizzling plate was also just alright. The mozzarella cheese sticks really felt like it was lifted form a grocery freezer section. Next time around, if we see ourselves heading back to Denny's I will stick with their tried and tested go-to: breakfast. read more

Zero stars. My family and I always go to all Dennys around the world. But this morning we came to eat breakfast here in Brentwood Dennys and they had half the tables not clean with dirty dishes on top they only had to waiters taking everyone's orders. There were 3 familys waiting with us to get seated for over 20 mins and when we finally sat down no one came to our table to get our drinks for over 20 mins. So we got up and left to go eat Chipotle. It's crazy how important the environment can be. Three times now the same thing. I had a long day and everything else is closing so the wife and I head to Dennys to eat and sit and relax a bit. The waitress was nice and the food was ok. The club sandwich is half the size it used to be but that is good because I wanted to leave. I wanted to tear my ears off though. Every time I end up there I remember why I haven't gone in a while. 80s music will be on the ceiling speakers. Ok, that's nice. Problem is the kitchen workers are blasting other music over it and it makes it this maniacal sound and you can't relax at all. You just want to walk out but you're hungry and it's late. If you are considering going here, first blast some music on your phone and then blast a different kind of music over it on the car stereo. If this sounds maddening don't go to dennys. And if you're eating in, gotta write your name and party size on their clipboard or with waiter/waitress. My daughter and I shared a sampler appetizer and some nachos. The nachos were not so good, I'm gonna blame it all on the chips they use. The sampler was up to par with boneless buffalo wings, mozzarella sticks, french fries and onion rings. Mmmmm the French fries are a little different than most. I recommend trying the honey mustard as dipping sauce for your onion rings. They've currently got a deal going on where you get 50% off an appetizer when you buy an alcoholic beverage so I'll be getting that soon. read more

This review is for a DoorDash order but with that said I had ordered the same thing for dine in a few weeks back and it was the same issue. I thought it was just a fluke the first time. I wasn't charged for my meal but I didn't have time to order something else. I didn't leave a review back then because I did have the salad and we really like Dennys. BUT I felt like a fish dinner again. Yes that is what I had ordered before and I didn't even think twice that it could be bad again. But it was. It was soooo bad. And we ordered 2 fish dinners! If you see the pic on the menu it is golden fried fish...that is not what we received. It was so burnt that the inside..the fish...was crispy! All the pieces were toasty. Grossly inedible. I'm sure it just frozen fish put in a deep fryer how can these be cooked so badly. One side was mashed potatoes. They were liquidy. The onion rings were just the opposite of the fish. They weren't fried enough. They were rubbery. Not even the salad was good as the salad dressing was watery just like the potatoes. And we didn't even get tartar sauce. I don't understand how something this bad could be sent out the door. I could see the fish through the container and I already knew it was going to be bad. We really like Dennys and we will be going back...but definitely not for the fish. read more
