If you get the waitress name Nancy, she is the best. She always gets our order right and never makes us wait too long for our food to get our table. Service is absolute garbage, staff is very rude an unattentative. We were seated for an hour and a half and never saw our food despite the lack of customers. While we waited a transient wandered in from the hotel and actively accosted people who were seated IN the restaurant, management did nothing despite customers being very uncomfortable. Staff seemed prejudice as well, others were seated and served before we were even acknowledged at our booth. Not worth it at all, Go to Norms across the street. read more

Saturday's seem to be somewhat busy the wait was 10-15 mins which is normal for us. I'm sure we were seated before the 15 minutes. We were finally seated and we had to wait an extra 5-7 minutes for our waiter what seems forever. If my fiancé did ask the bus boy we'd probably wait an extra 5. Anyways we've been to this Dennys before service is usually not bad. Our server was Yos (not sure how to spell his name) but he was nice and checked up on us. I'm usually not a tipper cause services is not always great. But he did the best he can for a busy day. He bagged up my food for me as well which I appreciated and wished us a good day. Place is usually clean when we are there. Food is usually pretty good as well. I order there loaded tater tots which was new it was delicious! I'd recommend it. I've been to many denny's before but this place is the worst.. The inside needs some remodeling it look so depressing.. as for the staff they really sucks. They were so slow it took them 20min to ask for our drinks.. I had to ask the waitress several times for our utensils and waited for 15min to refill the drinks , she kept forgetting everything.And the best part was she disappeared for half of the time, when she came back it made no difference. read more

Have not been to a Dennys in a while and we are sorry to try this place. We should have looked at their rating first 2 stars is too generous. Kathy the manager was not very professional some what rude too. Needless to say we will not be coming back. Do NOT go to this Dennys any time of day or night. I was driving toward Los Angeles on the freeway and looked for a Dennys sign so I could eat lunch on-the-road around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, 10/6/2013. This was a big mistake and a deal breaker for my business trip, what a let down. Loretta, server, took my order for a simple iced tea and Super Bird meal. It took awhile just to get the drink. But the problems started. At the same time as 3 very large groups' food came up on the cook's rack ready-to-serve, my single plate did too. For the next 5 to 7 minutes or a little more, Loretta carefully prepared her big trays for the large group and made 3 to 4 trips back and forth to serve them while my plate was sitting there getting cold. All the time I was sitting behind her at the Denny's counter. All she needed to do was to pick it up and put the stupid thing on my place mat and I probably would have been happy. She continued to abandon my plate and ignored me completely. I was the ONLY person at the Dennys counter this whole time. After 7 minutes of my plate sitting and getting lukewarm, I had no other choice as a customer/diner than to alert the manager, Maria, that my plate was overdue and I wanted to eat. She simply went to Point A (the cook's line) and took the plate to Point B (me!). No apologies. Loretta came up to me and asked me, 'is everything OK?' I replied firmly, 'No." "Good!" she said smugly and then traipsed away to check on the big groups. At that point I had enough. I talked with Loretta in front of Maria and expressed my disappointment in her service along with my total disbelief in Loretta's coy and rude reply when she said 'Good' after I said my experience was bad. Maria is the only one who apologized and marked off the charges saying 'the lunch is on me, btw, did I do anything wrong?' I explained she as a manager acted correctly to bring my plate and she agreed to talk to Loretta later. I said that's probably best to confront her employee away from coworkers and diners. But I was still a little shaken and tense from the treatment I received from Dennys' servers and manager at the Claremont, CA exit Dennys Restaurant (909) 625-6666, 820 S. In a nut shell all the previous bad reviews that have been posted are true. The service is bad, the dishes are dirty, and they are understaffed. There are only two waitresses working on a Saturday night (Sunday morning). Don't waste your time. Go to norms across the street. read more

The ONLY reason we went here was because Louie's in Upland is closed on Sundays and Norm's, across the street, was busy out the door. We just wanted some soup on such a cold and rainy day. We both ordered (very rare for us!) the cup of chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese combo. This was listed on the 55+ menu. They brought the soup first...I would think if it was not a side item and part of the combo, they would bring both at one. Although the grilled cheese was acceptable (on sourdough bread), I noticed that mine was quite thin (probably only once slice of cheese) AND the cheese was not even melted! I may be wrong, but I was under the impression that, in a grilled cheese, the cheese is supposed to be melted all the way. I have a feeling they were not using real cheese and processed cheese takes a long time to melt. When the cashier took my money, she ask how everything was. I told her that I gave the meal a six out of ten. When she asked what could have been done, I told her that I am old-fashioned, but I like the cheese in my grilled cheese melted! read more

This is usually my go to for breakfast when i don't feel like cooking came here this past Sunday didn't wait to long to be seated ordered my meal I've had already taken a few bites out of my burger and i feel a hair in my mouth spit it out the hair was in between my patty told our waiter she removed my meal from my check really is that all you can do, asked to speak to the manager and he was no where to be seen well at check out there was someone in front of us checking out as soon as its our turn the bitch at the register just walks away and acts like she doesn't see us! Horrible service!! I was completely ignored on a take order even though I told the girl at the front counter that I was in a hurry. She didn't have a customer just continued looking at her receipts. She then passed me off to someone that said he was on his break. When that didn't work, instead of just helping me,she tried to pas me off to someone that was actually gettin drinks for a table and couldn't help me. She never made an effort to help me herself. Terrible! I was there a few minutes ago and when I walked in was seated by the manager. Everything was okay but after fifteen minutes I felt tensions in the room rise. The table to the right was extremely upset and the table to the front was so upset to be waiting for their food for so long that they complained to the server, walked up and left. After waiting for our food for atleast 40 minutes, our nice server came and apologized for the wait. I watched the servers long enough to know it was not their fault at all, it was the incompetent manager who did not want to work more people that night (probably out of stinginess). There was only one cook and two servers and the place was half full. I felt really bad for the poor servers :( Our food was okay.. overpriced and bland. Here comes the worst part, when we got up to leave I see the manager pulling the cleaning lady aside to the restroom wall and pointing at something. When he comes back he's laughing and says "someone smeared poop on the wall" and all the workers start giggling. Umm... How unprofessional can you get??? Just got home from a terrible experience at this Denny's. We have given the staff many opportunities to redeem themselves, but their customer service keeps getting worse. Even with the remodeling we figured it would boost the staff's moral, but I am so disappointed for the last time! We waited almost 25 minutes to be acknowledged and finally when the manager (big black guy named Marvin) saw us he ended up helping out some white girls that had just sat down over us! How rude and racist can you get.....the only positive was the waitress was very nice. I do not recommend this Denny's! One of my friends went up to ask for help to let them know we hadn't been helped &still they didn't help us. They asked the table infront of us if they were doing ok, but still no one helped us. Went on a Sunday--- they were busy. I don't mind waiting for the food as I feel that food should take a while since they will be fresh! BUT, when they brought out the food-- the fries were cold, the butter have melted into my pancakes, and my omelette was warm-- seems like my food had been ready for a while but the server took forever to serve the food. The food here is terrible. The customer service is just as bad. But worst of all was the pompous, unprofessional and ignorant manager. Her name I believe was Kathy. I had complained about the food being undercooked and if she could redo my order to which she replied in a very rude manner "no we can't do that". But earlier when I had sat down, she was speaking to another customer and they had complained about a hair in their food and she happily obliged and redid their order. 2nd time here while staying at the hotel and both times they screw up. Tonight we got supreme skillets and both had brown eggs and barely anything else. They didn't give the sauces with the sampler for my daughter. Food was ready when husband got there but he had to wait over 15 minutes to get drinks. I wasn't a huge fan of Dennys before coming to this one. I always thought they were alright, more points for convenience or a late meal than anything. This one however is the exception. Kudos to their cooks because they have really raised the bar. The loaded cheddar tater tots are better here as is their apple crisp dessert. I just tried a bacon Bourbon burger last week and it was dreamy! Dennys fries are always good but here they are great and of course the side of ranch is just the icing on the cake. The service at this Dennys is fab too. Warm, friendly, and effecient. Will be coming back often. read more

I've been calling into this exact Denny's at all hours for pickup. Suddenly today "Sarah" says they don't take phone orders after 10. She's been there 3+ years and that's always been the policy. Perhaps that is the truth but I've always called this location to pick up food after a long day of work. Makes me want to go across the street to Norms. Horrible service waitress was really rushed, even though there were only 2 people in the whole place when we came in. I'm a super slow eater, so my husband went to pay while I ate, and as I'm eating I find a hair-eww! I get the waitresses attention, and let her know there is a nasty hair, she says, "you just found it? Well, the checks already closed." Duh.
