I was really wanting some hashbrowns so we came in here for some breakfast deals. The girl is really sweet and served us right away. The ambience is totally renovated in November 2025 It looks beautiful and will definitely come back.

This is a live review since i'm sitting in Denny's right now eating my All- American Slams and fried mozzarella sticks with my bestie, Danielle on whom is studying for the bar right now. Yes, that's right, we out here eating and studying at Denny's. Don't sleep on that. Denny's has been a staple for me since my college days back in 2013, food is decent (depending on certain location, the one across from Santa Ana College was the one I used to go to back in the day) But this location, the chef who is working right now( time is 2 am on June 4, 2025) and our amazing server Gail, thank you for serving us. Gail was wondering and for the first time in my life, she told me I look familar from this show called Gilmore Girls on which I never watched but my bestie look it up and I can see the similarities. Alright, now lets get do to the food, I ordered the All- American Slams, cripsy hashbrown, scamabled eggs, 4 pieces of cripsy bacon and a stack of pancakes, with an add on of toasted English Muffin. 9.6/10 I agreed with my bestie, that indeed, their pancakes are WAY better than IHOP. The pancakes here are fluffy and mosit, not dense like Ihop, again if you like dense pancakes this isn't it. Cheers to the chest for making that cripsy hashbrown perfect and the plating... I never seen a more aesthetic Denny's plate than this location, looks so well put and the fried mozzarella sticks were hot and not too. salty 9.4/10 Originally we wanted to order the maple stuff donuts but they were out. That's totally fine, because it's giving us an excuse to come back and get it. We came in around 1am, my bestie needed to study other than at home so I didn't mind. This is just brining me back memories from my college days so this was a nice visit and by far one of the besst location of Denny's. No homeless here like in Santa Ana and everyone that dine in was respectful. Thank you Gail for serving us and she was the only server here at time we were in so we understand, plus we weren't in a rush to get our food since we were studying well my friend was stuyding, I'm just typing out this review.

A comfortable stop along the highway to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the ambiance.... Hmmm At least you have an idea of what to expect.

Stopped in to see my favorite server Bobbi again. Always a positive experience both with the service and the food. Chicken fried steak with salad and veggies. YUMMM... Made my day!!! Del Mar, just off Highway 5...

I've always enjoyed Dennys. It's open at all hours , and the selection of food is vast. I'm giving this review to provide info for Dennys app users and customers driven by specials. Yesterday 9/18 was national cheese burger day. I found a list of restaurants giving special discounts. Dennys was listed as one of them. However when we arrived we were informed this location was not participating. The host advised us to check online for coupons or promo codes I found the Dennys app and downloaded it and got an immediate 20% off coupon. The fine print indicated it does not apply to Every Day Value Slam and items under $8. We ordered to burgers off the $2/$4/6/8 value menu. I had 3 add ons. Avocado , cheese and the seasoned fries. We went to check out and were told we only qualified for .77 cents off. I tried to give the cashier the info and fine print but he refused it stating there was fine print that stated this. So I concluded the Every Day Value Slam equates to the $2/$4/$6/$8 value menu. I should have ordered a burger off the regular menu and got more bang for my buck. Fortunately the total dinner was reasonable despite not having the coupon. I just found the location lacking in customer service regarding the specials. (I had to specifically request the Value menu ) as it was not provided and I would not have known about had I not downloaded the app. Regarding food. It was served hot and fresh. Burger was pretty good Seasoned fries not worth $1.99 upgrade. Recommend this Dennys if you just want a place to sit down for a burger , breakfast Simple food. The booths need to be replaced. Ours was torn up where you were sitting on the foam.

After lunch, we loved being able to walk straight out onto the sand for a beach stroll. Just be warned that parking can get a bit crazy and packed. I wonder if this is a location on eBird. Yes, I am a dork. I came here years ago while on a business trip and randomly found this place and loved it here. So when a date suggested we come here, I took a look at the venue and remembered what an awesome brewery this is! Date gets some brownie points for chosing this spot, maybe this could go somewhere haha. Parking is a situation here. But if you go past the restaurant, there is some parking on the road and in small lot meant for those enjoying nature. I felt bad taking one of these spots. There is paid public parking on the corner before the restaurant and valet is available at this brewery. I need to figure out another way to get here... On a Sunday afternoon, place had people but it wasnt mobbed. Baseball game and Del Mar horse races were showing on the TVs. But, don't come here to watch TV, look outside! I saw some very good bird action, including an egret doing some weird strutting in the lush greenery. I am bummed I forgot to bring my binoculars but I will be back here again soon with binocs ready! I started off with a hefeweisen and that was good, date had a Mexican lager x 2. I had the ceviche (pretty good) and had the aioli on the side. Date had a sandwich of some kind and copious amounts of fries. It took a lot of will power for me to not have any of those fries, they looked so yummy! I also had a watermelon beer, this had hints of watermelon flavor and I enjoyed it. Great spot for large groups too as there were a few large parties sitting in the "outside" space. Hostess initially asked if we wanted to sit "inside" or "outside," and I was confused as it all looked like outside to me haha. I guess this is SoCal, everything is open air. This is a nice spot to have convo, very spacious, lots of nice tables, we sat at a high top. I love perching higher up, kinda of like a bird haha! Waitresses here were all very good, some very cute too (eye candy is always appreciated). Overall, a really fun way to spend a Sunday summer afternoon! I'll be back!

The restaurant is really loud when crowded and you can only talk to the person right next to you, but that worked ok in a group of 7 anyway--we just had multiple mini conversations. If you're planning a large group gathering, you might have to play musical chairs to catch up with everyone, unless everyone has naturally loud voices that carry. Most of the people in our group ordered beers, but I ordered a nonalcoholic prickly pear hibiscus ginger beer which was ok--pretty subtle, but it quenches the thirst all the same. I ordered the Farmer's burger (black bean) with added avocado and a side salad which comes with a lemon vinaigrette. I had to eat it with a knife and fork after removing the top bun. Very tasty. My daughter ordered crispy shrimp tacos which she really enjoyed. Most people ordered the backyard burger which looked pretty good--choice of fries or side salad. I chose to sit inside near the open windows overlooking the street, which was nice for people-watching. For starters, it was extremely hot inside. The windows were open, but there was absolutely no breeze, so it made dining pretty uncomfortable. I ordered: * Breakfast Burrito: This honestly has to be one of the worst breakfast burritos I've ever had. It was extremely dry and had absolutely no seasoning or flavor. The salsa served with it was way too spicy for me, so I asked for another dipping sauce. The chipotle sauce was much better and definitely helped. I was also disappointed that they used what tasted like processed/fake guacamole rather than fresh avocado. * Irish Coffee: This was actually really enjoyable! I'm more blown away by the great service than the food, but even the food was wonderful. Out of all…read morethe Nick's locations, this one was by far in the best location in terms of things to do around and accessibility with parking (though it is only 2 hours free). The restaurant was beautiful and extremely clean. The ambience was really inviting and warm. The service was definitely top tier. We ordered a lot, which we started with the asparagus fries and california salad. For entries, we ordered the sea bass, fried chicken, and bistro plate. All of them were super delicious! We really appreciated the portion sizes as well. Out of all the dishes, the sea bass was the best. The fish basically melted in your mouth. Lastly, 100% order the butter cake. It's what Nick's is known for. It comes with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream. You can easily share this with 2-3 people.

Nick's Del Mar provided my partner and I with a memorable experience this evening. Unfortunately it…read morewas a memory I wish I could forget. Let me just say right up front that there won't be a next time for me. We had 7:15PM reservations. We arrived a good thirty minutes early. We were greeted warmly and invited to have a seat at the bar until our table was ready. My partner enjoyed a Watermelon Jalapeño Margarita. He said it was very good and loved how forward the Jalapeño flavor was along with the watermelon. He also had a Vesper which he said was even better than the Margarita. Little did we know that we should have stayed at the bar for a couple drinks and grab some fast food on the way home. We were seated at a high top table on their covered patio a few minutes prior to our reservation. After several minutes our server approached our table and asked if we were ready to order. I asked for the Heirloom Roasted Artichokes. He advised us that this appetizer was out of season and not available. We requested a few minutes to peruse the menu to selection our entree choices. My partner ordered the fried chicken and I selected The Prime Rib Dip without the Brioche bun. It only took a couple of minutes before for our server returned and advised me that the kitchen will not serve the Prime Rib Dip without a bun. Apparently it ruins the integrity of the entree. I requested a menu to make another selection. Apparently The Original Prime Rib melt isn't available without the bread either. Eventually I decided to have the Asparagus Fries appetizer as my entrée. I requested a side of blue cheese dressing instead of the Buttermilk Ranch. The Asparagus Fries I was told are made in house. I am not certain I believe that as they lacked any flavor and seasoning. The batter on the outside was fried golden brown but the asparagus was cold, watery and had no flavor. I had to ask for the blue cheese dressing several times before I received it. The server did take the initiative and had the manager remove them from our bill. My partner said the Fried Chicken was quite good and I noticed numerous tables had ordered it as well. The corn on the cob, biscuit and mashed potatoes that accompany the chicken were mid at best. The consistency of the potatoes reminded me of wallpaper glue. They also lacked any flavor or seasonings. He did enjoy the roasted corn on the cob (1/2 ear). However, it was roasted very unevenly. The biscuit was doughy and void of any flavor. I enjoy eating out and don't mine spending more money for great quality, tasting and well seasoned food. Nick's is not cheap. My suggestion is go, sit at the bar, have a cocktail or two and then leave. On your way home stop by In & Out, Jack in the Box, McDonald's or your local Mexican drive thru and order something to eat. It will cost less, be better quality and have more flavor. The ambiance is okay. The restaurant is small and they have done their best to get as many tables in as possible. The restrooms were hideous. They smell bad and there is trash and paper towels all over the floor in the bathroom and outside on the floor. The parking at One Paseo is limited. Luckily, I have a handicapped placard so I got parking right outside their front door. However, I heard several people at the bar and the table next to ours on the patio complaining about how far away they had to park. Thinking about Nick's Del Mar? Skip it and go anywhere else. I promise you will have better food, pay a lot less and have a much better experience.
