Marko's Breakfast & Dinner in Temple City is one of those rare places. My wife and I were warmly greeted as soon as we walked in. We also had the pleasure of meeting Marko, the owner, along with his wife, Michelle, and Antonio, who was incredibly attentive throughout our visit. You can immediately tell this is a family-run restaurant where people genuinely care. The food was exceptional. I have honestly never had hash browns this fresh before. Marko explained that they're never frozen and are delivered fresh the same day. The tomatoes were equally fresh, the strawberry jam was homemade, and even the dressings are made in-house. Nothing tasted mass-produced. Every bite reflected the care that went into it. Our food took a little longer to arrive, and I actually appreciated that. Fresh food should take time. I'd much rather wait a few extra minutes for a meal that's made to order than have it appear instantly. The menu has plenty of choices, the prices are very reasonable for the quality, and the hospitality was just as impressive as the food. I have a lot of respect for people who spend their lives mastering what they love and eventually build something that reflects that passion. Meeting Marko gave me exactly that impression. If quality truly matters to you, give yourself the chance to eat here. It's easy to see why places like this earn the success they have. Another reason for this post is to apologize and recognize the incredible staff. We ended up staying about an hour after closing because my friend and I hadn't seen each other in nearly two years. We got so caught up talking and reminiscing that we didn't even realize we were the only ones left in the restaurant. Not once did anyone ask us to leave or make us feel like we had overstayed our welcome. We know staying that long after closing is inconsiderate, and it was never our intention. We sincerely apologize for that. Thank you to the entire staff for your patience, kindness, and hospitality. We truly appreciate you giving us the time to catch up, and we'll definitely be back--for the amazing food and the exceptional service.

I give 2 stars because the food was decent. Great cinnamon pancakes and my eggs were cooked as ordered. However, the service was terrible..Even with very few customers, I had to wait 15 mins to order coffee, which was not fresh. The server did not take our orders at the same time. Which caused my friend to be halfway through his meal by the time my breakfast was delivered. There were no extra napkins left with our orders. No offer of water, hot/steak sauce... and surprisingly NO COFFEE REFILLS!!! The server never returned to our table after he delivered our meals separately. When we stood up at the register to request the bill, we were not even acknowledged until my friend began to walk out as if he wasn't going to wait any longer. I don't know why I even patronize the Denny's franchise. Even though the restaurants are owned and operated independently, the experience is always irritating. I understand that public establishments can get busy, lines get longer when short on servers. However, if their employees were taught some simple time-management skills, manners and courtesy towards ALL the patrons. The waiting would be more acceptable. Instead, it seemed like we were more of a nuisance to the a.m. server (Miguel), who spoke very poor English and spent more time chit-chatting with a customer who seemed to be, either a regular, or a personal friend if his. POOR SERVICE MIGUEL!! I always leave a generous tip, I will usually add money to the tip if someone else pays...It's my way of showing gratitude for good service. By all the times I've gone to this Denny's, I've never had an experience like this until we were served by Dalia. At first everything seemed fine, but after my dad and I ordered our drinks, it felt like they were forgotten. Meanwhile, another customer who came in after us received their drinks almost immediately. We had to ask again before we finally got ours, and when Dalia brought them over, she seemed annoyed. When our food came out, she placed the plates on the table very quickly without really acknowledging us. It felt like she didn't want to interact with us at all and was rushing through the service. After we finished eating, I went to ask for the check. Instead of asking if we needed anything else or thanking us for coming, she simply handed me the check without saying anything. Based on this visit, the service felt rude and unwelcoming. I understand everyone can have a bad day, but this experience left a negative impression, especially compared to the friendly service we've received here in the past.
