Our volleyball team had very hard day. We just wanted milkshakes... isn't that simple. Just some sweet creamy cold milkshakes. They couldn't provide. How? Why? Because it was too hard to scoop the ice cream. If they continue to dishonor sports teams they might as well be shut down. AVOID THIS PLACE ! We are local residents and this Denny's just opened a short time ago and we wanted to stop in for breakfast and this was the worst decision we made and this is why we recommend staying away and go eat somewhere else. First of all we went this past Sunday (11/8 @ 11:30AM) and there was a very long wait to be seated and we decided to sit at the counter since two stools where open. This was the best seat in the house to see what CHAOS was happening ! The counter is situated right in front of the grill and food station stations, this is were all the wait staff go to the window and pick up their food for delivery top the guests tables. We ordered the Lumber Jack Slam and the Grand Slam Slugger. It took a little time for our waitress to acknowledge us, but she was friendly and took our orders and brought our drinks, we figured it might take a little before we got our food and that was a correct assumption. When our food arrived it was cold, not sure why ? But the bacon was very thin, cold and very greasy, the ham was sliced very thin and burnt a little and very, very greasy and cold as well. The hash browns were a mix of under-cooked string potatoes and burnt crispy parts mixed in. Our eggs were not cooked as indicated from what we ordered, cold as well. The only positive was the pancakes, these were hot and were just fine. They forgot the toast and about half way through our breakfast the server came back and we asked for our toast, sure we got somewhat burned toast with no butter ....... Just lovely ! We did not bother complaining but told the cashier that the food was horrible and service was sub par ...... and we will never be back there again. We witnessed complete CHAOS at the serving window by the wait staff and cooks, food was sitting in that window for awhile, no wonder why it's cold, we seen a cook become very ignorant to waitress and caused her to walk away and he just tossed food plates onto their carrying rays while food flew off the plate and onto a dirty counter, that wait staff picked the food up and put it back on the plate and took off to serve some the food ...... How nasty and how untrained is this girl ! The cook needs to be terminated to be talking to staff in the tone he did, did he forgot that customers can here every word they say back there ? HEY COOKS - COOK WITH PRIDE AND SERVE FOOD CORRECTLY, or are YOU THERE TO ONLY COLLECT A PAYCHECK AND SCREW THE DINERS ? Denny's corporate office needs to send in a staff to properly train these folks, they need to find managers that care about the quality of food being served, they need to address language and behavioral issues as well. This place is not off to a good start in the area and if it does not change, they will become a ghost town in there. There are to many other local places to eat and if you can not get good service, warm food and a pleasant experience, then go elsewhere ! I've never had anything bad to say or have been unsatisfied until tonight. Almost all of their dinner menu is fried food right? Well that didn't dawn on them since they were "changing the fryers oil" at 7:00 PM. Why would you not change them close to closing time? It's Denny's, so as far as menu selections it is pretty standard. That said, the staff, from host(ess) to wait staff, have been excellent. We've always been seated promptly and greeted warmly. Service has been quick, the food good, and the restaurant clean. I will gladly continue to have breakfast and lunch meetings here! read more

Went for the first time on 2/17/18. We were there towards the latter half of the breakfast rush. They were slammed. Based on previous reviews, the issue seems to start in the kitchen. When the kitchen gets backed up, it has a trickle down effect for everything else. All that being said... The food was delicious. I ordered the Lumberjack Slam. Best pancakes I've had in a while. Someone mentioned the syrup being bad. I thought it was fine so not sure what happened previously. They use good rye bread. I ordered poached eggs (I know it's a pain but I like them). They were perfectly done. I will agree that the ham slice leaves a lot to be desired. It tastes fine but it's just a small step above a grilled piece of lunch meat. My home fries were crispy and delicious. The bacon is ridiculously thin and I didn't like it because of that. This plate includes 2 sausage links. I got 1 1/2?? My wife ordered 2 eggs, grits, home fries and turkey bacon. Her home fries were underdone and the grits were bland. She did enjoy some of my rye bread and pancakes. I agree with the reviewers that mentioned a staggered seating arrangement. I believe they do this to take some of the pressure from the kitchen. Unfortunately Dennys, that is an issue that you need to address and I would try to do that quickly, based on your reviews. We will be back, it's nice having a 24hr breakfast option in Hanover. I just hope they fix some of the gaps. Btw, the Starlight and Lucky Spot are local joints that do much better. If it's Sunday, I highly recommend 3 Hogs BBQ for breakfast too. read more

You would think a diner franchise like this with so many years of experience would know how to get it right from day one.... they don't. This place was just remodeled. First visit was on 11/10/17. When we arrived we were told it would be 30 minutes. As we waited other customers were being advised 45 minutes. We waited anyhow giving them the benefit of the doubt since the were new to the area. As we waited tables we being cleared but no one was being seated. Overheard the manager tell the hostess to seat a table wait 10 minutes then seat the next table. Turns out the kitchen was backed up. Finally got a table. Waitress took our drink orders and never came back. Finally found her sitting at a table talking. I approached her and asked if we could place our order she came back. 45 minutes later we got our food. Order was wrong and cold!! Again, feeling sorry for them (being new to the area) went back this past Sunday (11/26/17) for breakfast. Hostess was extremely polite; however, food was once again wrong, cold and never got our drinks. When I asked to speak to the manager the waitress became very rude and defensive. Worst service ever, they are open but the staff is unable to serve patrons. Purchased two Cobb salads and an order of onion rings from the Hanover, PA Denny's. One with salmon, the other with prime rib. My husband did a take out order. On both salads the lettuce were brown, the avocados were brown. Most of the pieces of the prime rib were undercooked. One piece was burnt. The onion rings were soggy. I've purchased the Cobb salad with prime rib twice before in the past two weeks; and they were fresh tasting. I don't know what happened this particular time; but I'm beyond disgusted and annoyed; and hungry when nothing else is open. Most of the two salads and the onion rings went in the trash. These salads cost $12.99 each. We paid for overpriced garbage. I want a refund or a gift card equivalent to the money that was spent. I will be reaching out to the Denny's corporate office regarding the quality of the food at this location. Both of those salads should've never been served. It's my first time being here 5/6/18 There wasn't a host, but it didn't bother me since it was only me, and the service was great for me, the man greeted me asked me how I was doing I told him great, he was really friendly to me kept on checking if I needed anything which was really great, the food was great. I was having a rough day and they made it much more better. Then another server asked if I needed anything else which makes me feel glad they are very helpful towards me. Clean, not even the slightest bit sticky like some, food was fast and hot and the staff was courteous and attentive. Google brought me here by accident from RT 15, and I am glad it did - I was really pleased with the whole experience. Clearly the people at Hanover Dennys try harder. I went in with pretty low expectations as one who rarely frequents chain restaurants and I am a bit of a foodie! I was pleasantly surprised and will return, which is a shocker to me and those who know me. It was clean. Our server, Amber, was friendly and attentive. The food was served hot and frankly was delicious and even memorable...as in I am trying to figure out how soon I can visit again! I got the Crazy Spicy Skillet. I love spicy, but have found that most restaurants don't really produce spicy food, despite often advertising a dish as such. This skillet was spicy and loaded. This is the third time we have been here since they recently opened. Third time is NOT the charm! Service was terrible and I had ordered an omelette without mushrooms. It arrived with mushrooms. As I waited for it to be remade, my husband finishes his entire dinner. When it finally arrived, the English muffin was floating on the grease on the plate, and therefore soaked through in grease. The manager came over to ask how it was and did offer to get me a new English muffin and new omelette but I was not willing to wait even longer. I feel that he should have taken it off the bill, but that did not happen. We won't be back, at least for awhile. read more

Stop in this evening after shopping seen it wasn't very busy so I thought service would be better then when we were there right after they opened I was wrong. Hostess was nice seated us immediately. That's where the serviced ended. We waited for our waitress after 10 minutes we ordered coffee. When she returned we ordered our food and commented on how cold it was. She told us other customers said the same thing she asked her Manager to turn up the heat. Waited forever for our food and more coffee. Haven't seen her since she took our order. I look around she's standing in the back of the restaurant talking to several other waitresses. When our food arrived pancakes were hot the eggs were cold. Went there for the second time today. The management is terrible. The first time 2 weeks ago , we had problems. The appetizer came out with the entrees. Meals not very good. This time we ordered an appetizer and breakfast. We waited about 30 minutes and the meals came out no appetizer. The waitress said she waited for them but they didnt come out. Then she said they are out of them. We knew she was lying. The bacon was so thin sliced, the ham was small and thin like lunch meat, the eggs (over easy) were small or extra small. They really cut corners. The syrup for the pancakes was terrible. It left a bad aftertaste. I won't recommend this place to any one. Okay. Granted they were a little busy when myself, my girlfriend, my mom, and my 3 year old son got there. But, I noticed tables that hadn't been bussed yet when there were patrons waiting to be seated. So, about 12/15 minutes after walking in we were seated. Our drink orders were taken and brought out in a reasonable amount of time. But, when it came to taking our food order, it was nearly 10 minutes, then once we did order. The food came out approx. 45 minutes later. Mind you there's a 3 year old. Who hadn't had breakfast yet. Once the food do d finally come. It was cold and not particularly aesthetically pleasing. Needless to say. They need to require a little more experience when hiring kitchen staff. Their meals and wait times drastically need to be improved. We were not happy. read more

Waiter was nice but service was slow. When my mothers omelette came the ham was burnt and the toast was burnt as well. Waiter apologized when we pointed it out to him and said he would say something to manager. I saw him walk over and talk to him. Manager did NOTHING to make it better. I love Dennys, usually. This one let me down. We tried it three times, 1. The first time was great just a small hiccup waitress forgot about our drinks. no big deal. 2. Second time it went down hill, waitress forgot the salad, and food came out with the appetizer. Not huge errors but annoying none the less. 3 rd and last time. The order was wrong, half cooked pancakes sent back and new ones still not cooked thru. Come on they were pancakes they aren't that hard. What worried me most was the eggs, asked for over medium, got runny yolks and whites. So the moral of the story, go to Perkins across the street, the couple dollars more is well worth it. If they are closed hit McDonalds. Looks like Denny's in PA is sub par. The ones in MD do a better job. read more

Northridge, CA- Tampa Ave Rude and unorganized staff. Came as a party of 3 as breakfast hour was ending, waited 25 mins to be seated, only to be moved by staff to another table and then we were told again by different staff that the table we were moved to was also unavailable and that we would have to get up and wait longer. When the people after us were seated at the table we ended up just leaving and going somewhere else. Awful customer service; strongly suggest anyone to eat anywhere else if you wish to be treated in an orderly and kind manner. read more

It was our first time to Denny's and we went for a late breakfast. We were advised it would be a 10 to 15 minute wait. After waiting 40 minutes, and 5 tables being completely clear for more than 5 minutes, we walked out. They were seating larger groups that came after us and not acknowledging how long we had been waiting. Staff was not friendly and they definitely do not train their staff to be "all about the customers". I would not recommend going here to anyone. read more

Staff is hard working and very attentive. We go for late Sunday breakfast/early lunch at least 3 times per month and have never been disappointed. I think the 1 and 2 star reviewers were most likely guys and just very hungry when they arrived and well, you know how men are when we're hungry haha. Keep up the great work. read more
