Messages with door dasher
Angelica A.

This is honestly the last time I will ever DoorDash any order from here. Last time it was the pancakes, and this time it it with no condiments in the order that was placed. When I called in the General manager was there and was blaming me for not requesting it. Let him know it was common scene to add it. Informed him that I was going to drive there to replace the order and get a fresh one with all the condiments. When I went in he was still saying it was my fault for not asking for it. I pulled out my phone and informed him where is it asking for it? There was no request button for condiments. Then he started to blame my phone and the app. LOL! Mind you, this man couldn't even find the condiments request button! lol Started to say that in the state of CA they are not allowed to just add condiments to the online orders. Informed him that I was clearly not in the service industry and that it was no where in sight online! Yet there tables are covered with condiments. The math isn't mathing. He made me place ANOTHER ORDER online and it was another $27!!!! This bafoon forgot to cancel my order which resulted into another DoorDash coming my way. I had to inform the dasher of what was happening and he had to go back to speak with the manager. I had to call DoorDash myself to cancel the order and for me to get a FULL REFUND for the 2nd order that was placed. Not only did the manager waste my time and the dashers but had 2 out of three FULL meals thrown away due to not paying attention. I woke up this morning with 5 door dash charges because of the general managers neglect. Beyonnnd mad. This order has cost me over $130!!!!!!!!! I'm reaching out to corporate at this point!

Grand slam Original Grand Slam®

It's been ages since I've had a Dennys grand slam. I had a free reward so I decided to redeem it on a Sunday morning. The bacon was crispy and sausage was perfect. Eggs over easy. The place was about 1/3 full at 8 am. Host was kind and service was terrific.

Great for what it is! The prices are starting to rise from what I remember last time but isn't everything lol. Service was friendly! Food was similar to ihop! Definitely a family friendly diner vibe.

Chicken, fried steak and eggs. My husband thought it was delicious

Had the bourbon chicken! OMG it was delicious. I definitely large portion. I'm taking half of it home for dinner. The people are incredibly kind and the places immaculately clean. My hubby had the chicken fried steak. We were there at 11:00 in the morning. It's great that you can get breakfast and dinner all at the same time

smaller bread

I used to enjoy visiting this Denny's with my family, but our recent experience was disappointing. Prices have gone up while portion sizes, including bread, have noticeably shrunk. Kid's Meal 1 ($6.39): Two chicken tenders and two strips of small bacon. Kid's Meal 2 ($5.79): Mac & cheese with bacon and sausage--sides were too small. Senior Meal ($11.29): My mother-in-law's favorite salmon dinner now had smaller portions and bread. My Meal ($16.99): Chicken fried steak--price increased, with smaller portions and bread. Overall, the rising prices and shrinking portions make it hard to recommend this location, especially for kids. I am not sure if this is the corporate policy or just specific to this location. The changes here are significant.

Quick service on a busy Saturday. Its typically busy because of the youth sports in the area. Service was friendly. Food was warm & hot. An actual very good Denny's experience

I grew up going to Dick Church's - whether that was after hitting dawn patrol at Blackie's or…read morepost-church services - my family has seen meals under multiple owners. I recently went back after many, many years away and I have to say that the current owners have done a fantastic job of keeping what was always special about the place while updating some of the less-than-stellar things that existed. I think the scaled down menu really does the place justice - because you can still get a Dick's Scramble, but they've kept the menu minimal so everything feels intentional and tastes delicious. It's still diner food, but that's exactly why you're here. The coffee is strong and hot, the eggs are fluffy, and the service is friendly and fantastic. Love the old photos of Costa Mesa everywhere and the outdoor seating for families with pets. Dick's is a staple of CM, and you can tell it will continue to be with this great for years to come. And yeah, still highly recommend the Dick's Scramble.

But come to find out after an hour later, the girl who seats you forgot about us. After being seated, it took another hour for the food to come out. Keep in mind, we ordered everything right when we sat down because we were watching the tables as we were waiting for ours. One thing we observed was how the front door worker was seating people. Party of 4 was seated with three tables. There was room to move the tables apart and seat others who had been waiting but that didn't happen. We came here for Mother's Day and it was packed but service was quick. Not sure what went wrong on staff for Father's Day but it was not pleasant.

I wanted to share some comprehensive feedback regarding a recent experience, aiming to highlight both your successes and areas where further refinement could elevate the customer journey even further. First and foremost, I must commend your team for their exceptional warmth and hospitality. From my initial phone call to the moment I picked up my order, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. This level of customer service, which often feels lacking in many establishments today, truly sets American Grub apart. It creates a welcoming atmosphere that significantly enhances the overall experience, and I sincerely hope this commitment to friendliness remains a cornerstone of your operation. However, I encountered a couple of points that, in my personal opinion, warrant consideration for improvement. Regarding the payment process, I felt a degree of apprehension about providing my credit card details over the phone. While I understand the operational need to secure orders and prevent potential losses, particularly for larger transactions, for a single item like my bacon cheeseburger, priced at $17.24 including tax, this practice felt somewhat disproportionate. I also noted the 99-cent fee for online payments, which, while minor, might deter some customers who are seeking convenience without additional charges. Perhaps exploring alternative secure payment links for phone orders or adjusting the fee structure for smaller transactions could enhance customer comfort and streamline the process. My primary concern, however, arose upon returning home. Despite ordering a bacon cheeseburger, I discovered the burger completely lacked bacon, as well as any form of sauce or mayonnaise. This oversight had a significant impact on the meal; the absence of these core components rendered the burger quite bland and far from the experience I had anticipated. When ordering a single item, the expectation for meticulous attention to detail is particularly high, as there are fewer variables. Consequently, the overall value of the meal, given the missing ingredients, was not quite met on this occasion. I did reach out to the owner privately via email to discuss these points, and I appreciate their responsiveness and transparency in addressing my feedback, particularly concerning the rationale behind the phone payment policy. It is reassuring to know that your business is open to customer input. My hope is that these observations can serve as constructive input, allowing American Grub to continue refining its excellent service and product quality. I remain a supporter of your local endeavor and look forward to seeing these aspects addressed. Thank you for reaching out. To clarify, all my reviews and communications are crafted solely from my personal experiences and genuine perspectives, not AI. Every word and insight you read is authentically mine, driven by my commitment to provide honest feedback. Even though the review was long..(lol) I wanted to make sure the details are accurate and understandable. Plus I think you and your establishment are great and I wanted to detail that as well Kimberly.

The service here is quick and friendly and they make sure you always have coffee and it's hot (and there is always plenty of cream, 2 big pluses in my book). There is a daily white board of specials with 4 or 5 things that aren't on the menu, but I always go for something Mexican because it's just. so. good. My go to is the huevos rancheros. That sauce is *chef's kiss*. I've never been disappointed with anything I've ordered here. The big debate is biscuits and gravy or the banana loaf. Both are solid choices, but the loaf is great to take home. This trip the hubs got the Rambo special which met his approval. We both like our eggs over medium and they do them right here with runny yolks and cooked whites. We leave here happy and full and satisfied every time. As busy as it was, I was still seated immediately in a booth. The interior is all yellow with a cowboy theme. It feels a bit dated, but everything is clean and comfortable. I was greeted and brought water and a menu almost immediately I ordered the Santa Fe Skillet (Three eggs, ham, Ortega chiles, jack cheese, avocado, $16.95) with a side of hash browns and sourdough toast. I was surprised when my food arrived only five minutes after ordering. They run a very efficient kitchen! When my food arrived, the server offered me their home made mild or spicy salsa to go with it. I chose the mild salsa, and it went great with the dish. The skillet tasted great and was filling. My server, Betsy, was very friendly and provided quick service from start to finish. I took my time eating, and was still in and out in a bit under 30 minutes.
