I came here on the 4th of July with my mom and we were greeted outside by a manager. The service was amazing and everyone was super friendly. Something else I love about this Denny's that is unique is that hardly any customers were on their phones. People were present and enjoying each other's company. They served me fast and had a reasonable price for a nice sized omelette compared to a lot of places that serve small omelettes, which is an inexpensive food to make. They always let me sub the sides with healthier options. Denny 's is nothing super special, but 100% of what one would want out of a standard diner: a lot of options, reasonable prices, options for every diet. read more

I usually have average expectations for Denny's, but today I received over the top service, and that too at a great price! I arrived at peak brunch hour with a party of 5 (and a dog). We were seated immediately, and our food came much faster than even the usual waiting time for an average Denny's visit. Oh Denny's. I know I've said this before, but you never go to Denny's you just end up there. Located in the historic looking area of Irvine between railroad tracks, fields and corporate offices, but below the freeway as well. Somewhat far away from the Spectrum, Airport and other more popular areas. It's next to the La Quinta Inn so the parking lot is kind of jacked up in design, hard angles. The interior is half western and half traditional old looking Denny's. The service from my few times here is actually pretty good, and the food is on par with other Denny's. So that's to say it's below par. Rubbery scrambled egg's, greasy French toast and sandwiches. For some reason they do an ok chicken fried steak. I like the daily specials prominently hand written on the board. Short order flat top breakfast food where they take just a little bit longer to cook. I actually enjoyed getting a shake here one time as well as some pie. They split your bill and tip before charge which is good. The good thing about this Denny's is it's not full of a bunch of drunks or HS kids like most other late-night dinners. Sometimes, people misjudge or misguide. Maybe last time there was negative energy floating around, but this time, the lady Maricela V made me feel like a little kid at the candy store. As soon as I walked in, she sat me down and took my order. Within minutes, first batch came. I was so happy I felt like I was on Cloud 9. Then came Round 2, then Round 3. I can easily say that I was wrong, that there are bad apples, but the good people always prevail. Came to get gas before heading out for lunch when we decided to just go here. I was never a big fan of the Denny's close to where I live because it's always filled with annoying loud customers and blahh food. So my expectation was low. The difference between the exceptional customer service provider (in this case, Denny's on Sand Canyon Road in Irvine) and every other Denny's or other service provider) is a small, marginal and memorable amount. I had breakfast (again) at this Denny's location. I was cheerfully greeting and escorted to a clean and ready table. The server was pleasant and prompt. She invited me to enjoy my meal which I certainly did. Though the restaurant was busy (wonder why, right?), I did not feel rushed through my meal. While exiting the restaurant - two other Denny's associates at this location thanked me for my business and wished me a good day. I would drive 25 miles out of my way for a meal at this Denny's on Sand Canyon Road, Irvine, California. Congratulations to the store management and staff. Let me explain why i give this denny's 4 stars. Mostly because it is THE only place in Irvine open on a weeknight, or late on a weekend. It is the best place to go after seeing concert at the verizon venue. The atmosphere is great, and everyone talks about the concert they just saw. Good times for all. Food is very average, but all denny's are like that. I love talk to one waitress there, who says she hates working there late on the weekends, because it becomes the "bad part of town". I was with a soccer group of 15, waited along with a group of 40 plus 2 groups of 20. Tournament in the area. Manage Javier was great, his attention with all the guests was very friendly and fast. Our Server Jorge was on point with all of our needs, didn't miss a thing. The other large groups were in the patio area with us and all seemed very pleased as well. Before leaving I was looking for Javier to thank him and he was in the kitchen cooking meals along side the cooks. This Denny's is definetely a return location when I am in the area again.
