We have had Gabi as our server both times we have gone to this Denny's and she is a delight! She is always working hard and doesn't stop moving. One of the evenings we went and had dinner, her fellow staff member wasn't holding up his end (he was supposed to be our original server, but made us wait 35+mins to take our orders when we were only 1 of 2 couples in the establishment) resulting in Gabi staying past her scheduled shift just to make sure we were taken care of. Haven't been to this location in years but my normal location on cooper I guess recently closed, so I went a little further to this one. Went around 6:30 am, and at the time there was only 5 guest total including me. Waitress was quick with everything I ordered even when more people started to trickle in which by herself she took care of 10 tables smoothly. I ordered 4 pieces of bacon, 2 eggs over medium, hash browns, wheat toast, and coffee. I always thought dennys had great coffee and it definitely hit the spot today. I do wish the food was a little hotter and the bacon cooked a little longer but overall it was edible and I cleaned my plate. I will just know for next time to ask for crispier bacon. :-) The waitress name was Nicole but some guest who must be regulars were calling her Nikki. She did a great job. read more

I just ordered over the phone for the usual amount of soups..3!! They gave me one and told me I only orders one.. how ? When I been doing this always. The only person I've ever gotten amazing service from was BLEU! I love next to dennys but I definitely will have to get a new soup place. Poor quality, Mediocre customer service, and a lot of waitresses with attitudes and people answering phones "taking orders" who do not know how to use the system. I Went to this Denny's on Christmas Day to have a Christmas dinner I didn't have to cook myself. I should have saved my money and time. I was seated immediately, because I was a party of one (female), and willing to sit at the counter. BIG mistake. The waitress - whose name, I believe, was Delaney - brought me my decaff and took my order, (which included a glass of water), then I suddenly ceased to exist. She spent the next twenty-odd minutes completely ignoring me. Which is pretty impressive, considering I was at the very end of the counter, right across from the waiter's station. She continued to wait on other (male) customers at the counter and on her assigned tables, all the while brushing past me so closely she bumped my chair a couple times. As an added bonus, every other waiter also ignored me, as did the two shift supervisors; both of whom were primarily behind the counter the entire time. My coffee cup was empty by about the seven minute mark, and I still had no water. I tried a few times to flag someone down, to no avail, so there I sat. At about the twelve minute mark, I shoved my cup almost to the rear edge of the counter, and started drumming my fingers right next to it. At this point, I honestly wondered if my waitress had even bothered to put in my order. Right around minute 18, when I was literally nanoseconds from getting up, paying for the coffee, and leaving, my waitress suddenly realized it might behoove her to cease treating me like a piece of furniture. She stopped and asked me if I wanted the cup of regular coffee she had in her hand. I reminded her I was drinking DECAFF, and had also asked for a glass of water. She hastily refilled my cup from the decaff pot, and a few moments later, finally brought me my glass of water. No additional creamers, (of which I was also out), but hey... We Women Dining Alone(tm) take what we can get, right? A few minutes later my order finally came up. The waitress grabbed it out of the serving window, slopped it down in front of me, and asked if I "needed anything else" in a rather uninterested manner. I pointed out I was out of creamers, as well. She grabbed a handful of creamers from the cooler near the waiter's station, hastily dumped the empties out of the little bowl, and dumped the fresh creamers in, then off she went. Not a single word of apology for the fact I sat with nothing to drink for almost fifteen minutes. Not a single iota of interest in the fact she spilled a portion of my dinner on the counter. I ate my dinner without ever seeing her again until the time came for her to present me with my tab, so it's a good thing I didn't run out of coffee or water in the interim. When I got up to the register to pay my tab, I had to wait a while until the host got there. (He, at least, apologized for the wait time). When he asked how my meal was, I told him the food was fine, then inquired as to how many shift managers were on duty. He told me there were two, and I mentioned how pleased I was that both of them, as well as my waitress, spent the entire time I was at the counter ignoring me. He clearly didn't much care, and didn't bother saying anything to one of the two shift managers when she approached a moment later, so I went ahead and left, came home, and sat down to write this review. Yes, it was Christmas. Yes, they were busy. Neither of which changes the fact my waitress, all the other wait-staff, and **both managers** paid plenty of attention to the men dining alone and the groups of people, while ignoring me. There's this belief among restaurant workers that women dining alone are demanding, inappeasable , and tip poorly or don't tip at all, so there's no point in treating us well. The general public refer to this as "a self-fulfilling prophecy." This is the second time I've eaten at the Denny's at Southern and Country Club Drive in Mesa. It is also the last time. read more

The server we had is new, so the service was terrible, but understandable. The food was well Denny's food, but then, they made a mess of that too. Burned my blubbery hush puppies, brought out cold queso dip (as in refrigerator cold) then microwaved it. The "White Queso," is no bueno (avoid at all costs). Forgot my salad and messed up my sampler too. Marinara sauce was also Luke warm, so it's been altogether my worst Denny's experience EVER! That's saying something, as Denny's is a last resort at best and to screw or up as badly as they did is, well, disgusting. I've heard every table complain and I've just smiled and put on my happy face. Unfortunately, we're in a pretty old and rough part of Mesa, Az here. This place has seen better days (35 years ago). Just go to a different location, as this place has some pretty sketchy people coming and going. My heart goes out to the homeless here, but the heavy drug users were another over the top bad experience. Wife: To start, we arrived at 8am and were seated right away. Absolutely no waiting. The waitress, Tanya, provided great service! She was pleasant and promptly took our breakfast orders. She had a great sense of humor when my son, Marco asked if she can guarantee that the pancakes are 40% fluffier! Her response was, "we have the fluffiest pancakes in town!" I ordered blueberry pancakes with eggs and bacon. Robert devoured his cinnamon bun pancakes. Upon seeing his plate, I was ready to nab some of his breakfast!!! The service was okay and the food not so much. We get there about 3am. They do not have any pancake batter, that's fine we order two Oreo shakes also one veggie omelet and the French toast meal. When it comes out, the hash browns are not cooked, cold to the touch. The bacon was two shriveled up pieces and burnt sausage. We also got an English muffin that wasn't cooked, just warm enough like it was put in the microwave. As I was dinning in eating my pancakes I go to into the bottom one after eating the top and I find a red plastic piece cooked inside of them! (I've added the picture to the dennys photos, I'd add a video if it would let me) I point it out to the waitress who was very polite, she said she'd be right back so she can show her manager. The waitress Gabriella returns with our check saying they can make us another set of pancakes and they'd take $2 off of the bill for the plastic piece. The plastic piece alone was just disgusting! We ended up ordering to go from this Denny's because the credit card machine was down at one of the Chandler locations. The Country Club restaurant has been newly remodeled, and it was very spacious and clean. The customer service was AWESOME. Everyone was very friendly and polite. One of the employees kept us updated on the status of our order as we waited. We ordered two grand slams, and it tasted great; the buttermilk pancakes made me so happy, lol. My 13 year old made mention as to how nice everyone was, so I had to Yelp it. :) Thanks and keep up the great work; good customer service is rare these days. We'll be back. read more

It's not the food that I have a complaint about, as that's standard for every dennys. If you like breakfast food then you will like the menu here. My complaint is that it is always SUPER busy in here and there are way too many screaming kids! The wait is outrageous and the wait bench is stationed right next to the claw machine, so as you can imagine there's plenty of irresponsible parents letting their kids run all around you to go play the rigged thing. It is not a relaxing place to eat breakfast. Next time I crave Denny's I will go to an alternate location! read more

If you are considering a Denny's or any other big-box restaurant, it's because you want an idea of what you're gonna get. Corporate menus, signage, and recipes. For a chain of this sort, this location deserves at least 4 stars. I was staying at a friend's house, literally equidistant from four different Denny's ... this one was the south eastern one and had the highest rating on Yelp of the group (a solid 3 stars). I can see why. This location was very clean and well staffed. The servers were prompt and courteous, even for the middle of what appeared to be a Saturday morning breakfast rush. I sat at the bar since I was dining alone and could watch them hustle-- my goodness! I ordered an ultimate omelette with no mushrooms and it came out exactly to my specifications. I am giving this 5 stars, not because it is the best restaurant in the history of time, but because for a Denny's it is really damn good. read more

My aunt and I came in this evening. It was about 8pm. Not busy at all. We were seated and the waitress( Pam or Pat she didn't actually tell us,) took a while to greet us. She gave us our drinks then disappeared for 15 to 20 minutes. Another waitress named Taylor asked if we been helped and noticed we got our drinks. She went to find our waitress. Then our waitress finally decided to take our order. She noticed my aunt needed a refill. Said she would get it. Then never came back with it. Our food was ready and Taylor brought it out,( I know if the food is ready other waitresses help out.) Then noticed my aunt's empty drink. She brought a refill over. After Taylor does all the work Pam decided she'd check on us. While we were eating I needed a refill, Pam was sitting at the counter just chit chatting with a friend and eating. We had to get her attention just to get our check. My aunt was generous and gave her a better tip the I think she deserved. But we also tipped Taylor. She was the one who truly deserved it. What can you write about a Denny's? Same food no matter what location you go to. I was down in Mesa today so I stopped in to grab a bite to eat and a cup of coffee to pass a little time. I tried the new "Red, White and Blue Slam". I have to say I was pleasantly impressed! The pancakes where light and fluffy but they had real whole blueberries in them. I love blueberry pancakes and there were great. Topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Delicious. Nikki was my server and a good one at that. I asked to sit away from others so I could have some quiet to do a little writing while I ate. My coffee stayed full and she made sure I was left alone but not ignored. A great balance of the two.
